This is a beautiful hike - but I wouldn’t call it dog friendly. Yes, you are allowed to bring your dog but there are NO trash cans, anywhere. Not on the trails or in the entrance/exit. I had to carry a bag and bring it in the car for a half of a hour drive - very stinky and unpleasant! Also, it’s a little hard to get to now with road closures. You have to take I-10.
This trail system is great for all three user groups equestrians, hikers and mountain bikers, all will enjoy the trails here. The Desperado Loop is great for beginning mountain bikers with the rest of the trails more advanced but not too technical. This system is close to town well signed and well used. It is a beautiful place to hike, bike or ride.
These trails are some of my favorite to take my dog on. They offer many different paths, great views and the trials have little difficulty. There does tends to be lots of bike traffic but everyone there is really kind.
Great mountain biking or hiking trail. I recommend the cooler months of Tucson to try this out. If you are mountain biking, it is a bit Rocky but fun with small dips, little inclines, some downhill and switchbacks. Really fun trails just dont run into a cactus!!!
Beautiful hike. Well marked trails. It even has an outhouse!
Beleive it or not... there are rocks on this trail. I went there to mtb while passing through on my vacation. These trails were well maintained and provided a fun ride even during the steady rain in July. I never rode in Arizona before and wasnt sure what to expect. There is a lot of rock gardens, challenging sections as well as fast flowing sections. Lots of beautiful scenery which the trails did a good job of working around without disrupting the natural habitat. The trails were marked but I did get a little confused while navigating my way around.I ride a Trek Stache 8 hardtail and consider myself an above average rider and had no problems at all. I did have to walk my bike a few times due to not being prepared for the obstacle.Overall a great trail system and fun for all skill levels. There are NO bathrooms in parking lot.
Lots of options here long trails and short ones. Have taken my kids twice now. It was beautiful and busy lots of people riding bikes walking dogs and horse back riding on these trails makes you feel safe even though your pretty much in the middle of nowhere you are constantly seeing other people out there!
Gravel parking area to access the hiking and biking area. Talked to locals and break ins are rare within the fenced off area. However when busy people park on the road in and cars have been broken in to. No washrooms or water. Trails well marked with mini signs at the junctions. Excellent hiking and mountain bike trails.
Great little trail system for beginners or experts. Plenty of trail for a 2-3 hour ride if you do it all. Good views and not too far from town.
Great trail system for mountain biking, variety of terrain and easy to bike as much or as little as you want. Nothing too intense but far from too easy.
You cant beat the views, nor the quick drive from metro Tucson. There are several trails, with different elevations and distances so this area could work for all different fitness and ability levels. There is ample parking and I really look forward to a future visit on another trail.
Great place to eat ride your bike or walk the trail. A lot of people use this location late in day
Great place to get outside and explore.
Awesome trails that are great for mountain biking! Watch out for snakes!
So many neat trails here and not too hard. Absolutely beautiful.
Really beautiful park with a ton of huge saguaros. A great place for a hike or bike ride.
Great place for desert hiking and mountain biking. Bring water. There are no services available in the preserve.
Loved it not hard at all cant wait to go back
Very well maintained trail system with maps at every intersection. Distance markers on the map are really useful. The views along the trail are good, perhaps a little marred by the presence of nearby houses. There are various loops thst you can combine to have hours of MTB pleasure. Sections of trails are pretty rocky which were challenging for beginner riders like me. Saguaro and barrel cactus abound all along the trails.
Dog friendly beautiful trails with lots of choices on distance of hikes.
Beautiful hike, not a bad trail for beginners
Great park to hike or bike. Dogs on leash. Come early on the weekend, its a popular place.
I love mountain biking here whenever I get a chance to be back in Tucson. The views of Saguaro NP are awesome. The views of Tucson are also nice. And the riding is very good. Its not the longest or most challenging riding around, but its always really fun. The Desperado loop is very flowy and its hard not to smile while on it; dont miss out on the Desperado loop.
Awesome Singletrack looped trail system. Trails are well marked and theres nothing to rough or technical. Theres a good mix of ups and downs and it can be as easy (or hard) as you want to make it. Hikers, runners, horses and bikes all share this trail system and all trails are bi-directional: keep your eyes/ears open and be polite and you shouldnt have any issues. As bonus, the sandy/gravel/rocky trails drain well, so its a fairly safe place to ride during monsoon season.
My favorite trail system for mountain biking. Also great for hiking.
A treasure on the west side of town.
Great hiking and very scenic.
The views, the riding, the locale. It really is one of my favorite places in tucson
I love the trails, they are well-marked. The only frustration is the number of people that dont clean up after their dogs.
Nice trails with good signs/maps. The trailhead was easy to find with a big parking area. Dog friendly but had to carry her package out with me. Nice views!
Best scenic place in Tucson area that allows you to walk dogs. Also open to mountain bikers and horse riders. Trails are highly interconnected and extremely well signed with distance info, so easy to walk/ride as far or as little as you like.
Nice trails for hiking biking runningand horses
Walked the trail a bit with my pups. It was a nice day, people were friendly, a decent place overall. I would have liked a little more information (signs, markings, directions) but I believe well be back.
Love this area, nice people in the desert.Trails are great, something for everyone.
Great for beginning mountain biking and wonderful trail running, hiking and flora.
Saw a fox, a hawk and a deer. Fun track, desparado trail pretty easy.
First time ever on a MTB trail! First timers be sure to bring a friend. Good balance of technical and fast track. A blast for first time doing singletrack
Love the trail system in place.
Nice trail that lets you feel far away from the city while still being a close drive from downtown. Watch out for bees, stepping slightly off the trail to let bikers pass led to a sting last time I went. Bees aside, moving for bikers can get tedious on this trail and hikers might consider choosing a trail they dont have to share.
A beautiful trail the trail is narrow & winding very well marked you cant get lost There isnt water or restrooms but well worth it, my dog did just fine alot of cactus so be careful
Well-maintained and marked trail system for hiking & mountain biking. Leashed dogs allowed; however, many trails are quite narrow (single-track) causing congestion and a few disgruntled cyclists who had to slow down in order for me to find a suitable (cactus-free) spot to step off w/my 2 hounds.NOTE: no restroom facilities or trash cans in parking/trailhead area.
Ive run here for several years now, and had really enjoyed and benefited from getting out there. This past year, however has seen a huge increase in mountain bike traffic, which is understandable as this area is absolutely perfect for it, but is does kind of put a lid on the serenity aspect of it. Now for the part I dont get; Unleashed dogs everywhere, and everyone of them wanting to chase down a bike or a runner. Cant blame the dogs, but the situation is getting out of control. Would have given 7 stars 5 years ago, but its dropped to 3 from the runners point of view.
Nice, well marked and maintained trail. Scenic views with little elevation change.
Its fun but people keep throwing the rocks off the track so it keeps getting easier
Great trails for running or riding. If you are running, you will have to yield to bikes often on nice days. No toilets, so plan ahead or get creative.
This is a great trail, we saw some deer and heard coyotes but its by a few houses so you feel safe, there is a great view of Tuscon. I would definitely hike it again.
Great trails. Dog friendly. Maps are easy to read if you are savvy in your directions. A fun way to spend the afternoon. And its free!
Nice little trails park.
Had an awesome time on the mountain biking trails here.
I loved mountain biking here. The trails are good. The signage is great so you dont get lost. Biking around the saguaros is a trip memory I wont forget
Went mountain biking here, first time out, great beginner trails light up hills and fun and flowing downhills
A great multi-use trail system. Well marked with signs at all intersection. It has a nice and large parking lot. There is even a connector trail that links it up with the trails at Tucson Mountain Park.
Trails are great, with awesome views. If only people would pick up after their dogs. Nothing like running over a fresh pile with the front tire and having it flung up all over
Mountain biking with Justin as a guide. See Airbnb.
Great place for mini hikes with your dog! Little kids would probably find it hot and boring. There are no bathrooms and no play areas. I loved it and will totally be taking my dog again!
This is a awesome set of trails that you are able to bring your dog with you. You have several choices of trail lenghts and get to enjoy the Sonoran Deserts beauty.
Beautiful views, great trails, and easy-to-follow route maps. Picnic benches and camp grills at some entrances, which makes it a great place to picnic and hike. Enough trails and views to have a new experience every time.
Flowy and beautiful! How Sweet(water) it is.
Always a fun ride. You can make it challenging or easy depending on the route and speed.
Great biking! Pretty rocky and some decent climbs, but not too horrible. Beautiful country, just watch out for snakes on the trail!
Nice paths. Mostly level walking. Beautiful desert landscape. No rest rooms. Dog friendly.
Bike trail is a blast .
You can walk your dog there
Great hiking or biking area. Beautiful stand of Saguaro.
Fun trails.. beginners stay left!
It was good cause there was a Pivot demo going on today. The trails arent bad just would like more gravity
Best trails for all levels of riders.
Enjoyable hiking trails
Wow. Awesome variety of trails and fabulous views.
This a very scenic place and a wonderful area to mountain bike, hike or run. Lots of saguaros and nice photo ops!
Beautiful views from fun and well-marked trails, all tucked away on a fairly small parcel of land. A huge number of deer and any number of other wildlife to be seen here. A little congested on weekends due to its limited size which just goes to show that every neighborhood could use its own Sweetwater Preserve.
Great place to hike and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Nice, easy trail
Great place to hike and walk the dog!
Very nice hiking and mountain biking. All the trails are well marked. I wish Starr Pass had signs like that!
Great mountain biking! Awesome saguaros and ocotillos too!
This trail has a bit of everything. Fun, flowy climbs and descents, technical singletrack as well. A great trail for beginner and intermediate mountain bikers. Have fun!
Wonderful.. beautiful wild flowers
Perfect for a rolling-hills-kind-of-a trail run and certainly ideal for mountain biking.
Awesome spot close to the city for hiking and mountain biking. Great views of the city too.
Great mountain bike trails with awesome views of the surrounding scenery.
Beginner loop was rockier than bunny loop at fantasy island. Challenging for kids that hadnt ridden off road for some time.
One of my favorite mtb trails on the westside of tucson! Its also a popular hiking area woth beautiful views!
A real gem for local hiking and biking trails in the beautiful Sonoran desert with lots of sajuro. This is not a kids park with playground equipment but a wonderful place to show lids nature with lots of fun trails.
Favorite mountain bike trail on the West Side of Tucson.
I love this area for trail running and mountain biking. It has several access points and a good variety of terrain for beginners through advanced.
Great trails for hiking or riding. Maps located at major intersections.
Great place for beginner hikers
Awesome trails for hiking or biking!Good kids and beginner options for biking as well.
