Nice spaces. Very well maintained. Great place to watch a Southern Arizona sunset
We pulled over for a look see and were so enticed that we went for a little hike! We were surprised by all of the biodiversity and beauty there! The park is a very good place for a quick hike and some good photo opportunities! The bathrooms were not kept up though so I would recommend that you go somewhere else! But overall it’s a great spot!
Tucson Mt Park is a great range with the opportunity to shoot handguns, rifles and shotguns all at the same time. Its outdoors and in the summer it gets hot but ur under a Ramada. I had a great time out there and would recommend it to anyone who wants to put a bunch of rounds down range. I wish it was open weekdays. That would be my only complaint.
I’ve enjoyed many excellent hikes here. So very beautiful. Many trails to fit every skill level.
Only spent a short time here, but it’s definitely worth the trip. Right next to the Saguaro National wilderness, and just as beautiful. Not too crowded on a weekday
Used the pistol and rifle range. Great staff. Nice range. Very safe. Good be open more often
Took a motorcycle ride up mount lemmon with a friend. Unforgettable experience, incredible views, cant recommend enough!
Did the Bowen Homestead hike today via the Bowen Trail. Tucson Mountain Park is great!
Love tucsom mountain park rifle/pistol range. great staff and a fun safe range!
Great hiking ! Many trails to pick from . Walking, cycling or even horseback...
Great hiking trails with amazing views especially at sunset.
I love the fact that there are several different options to pull off the road and explore! I would have given a 5 star rating had I not read somewhere that there are no dogs allowed. But I have seen dogs out there so I took mine.
What an amazing and surreal experience. I am from Ohio and this is my first time in Arizona (Pima County) and I am in awe
After all of the years, still the most beautiful landscape in Tucson. Serene, great hiking/walking trails for all levels of interest and ability.
A perfect place to watch the sunsets, take a hike or just a moment away from town. Just minutes from downtown.
Hidden Canyon Trail is a short 2 mile hike right next to the Star Pass Resort. Good for beginners. For me the best part of the hike was reaching the hill top and enjoying a real 360 view. Downside is the trail is full of rocks. So i found myself looking too much at the ground to avoid tripping and fallen than enjoying the view while hiking.
Always a nice short hike.
What a wonderful park. Lots of places to pull out in your car to hike and take pictures. Lots of hiking trails too.
This area is beautiful. We came around sunrise and really enjoyed a leisurely hike, with the cooler air and sun slowly coming up. The saguaros are truly impactful. The trails was a bit hard to identify but we still enjoyed ourselves and found our way around (w the help of a trails app). Do watch out for the jumping chollas, ouch!
Great set of trails! Cant wait to come back to explore them all!
Beautiful area close to Tucson proper. Great views and good trails. If you like bouldering these are some of the closest places to climb as well.
Visited sometime back. Cactus everywhere. Good place to see sunset. Sunny and hot, no shadow places as you can imagine. so you can spend time outside little and the car is your best to cool off. It’s desert so can’t expect any more. It’s different beauty of nature. The roads are bit tricky ups and down before reaching this place. Overall good.
The sunset views are unforgettable.
Worth the drive and visit..
Very nice place to hike day or night
I had never seen an entire mountainside covered in cacti before; at least six different varieties.
Tucson Mountain Park is a great place forwalking various trails. Beautiful place totake pictures of mountains & cactus. Recommended for local and visitors a like. With the many trails to choose from youllhave many days of trail hiking. For safetybe sure to go with two or more people andbring lots of water. If you plan to go for more than a couple of hours be sure to alsowear a hat. Enjoy your hike.Aloha,Don O
So much to see and do. I saw animals that cant see anywhere else. You can learn so much from this place. The guides are very knowledgeable. Great place for kids too.
A great place go for that late night walk at
Its the obvious outdoor rec area for Tucson residents. Gets over crowded. Too many bicyclers on weekends and holidays with no bike lane. Very dangerous. Roads are two lane, very curvy, limited sight.
Must see the sunset here . Mesmerizing!!
This was a great hike with fantastic views. It was easy enough for a 70-yr-old woman with hiking poles to climb. The path was easy to follow, sooner parts were lined with stones to indicate the way. A must do.
Awesome hiked the 6 mile loop beautiful day
Perfect place to go for a hike, a picnic, or just some nice quiet solitude! We live very close by and try to visit often.Only thing is people think its ok to use this area for a SHOOTING RANGE ITS A PARK FOR GOODNESS SAKES.The shooting range is right down the road.
This is a beautiful route to drive with lots of pull-offs to take walks along a path for a closeup look at the desert.
Great hiking close to town with outstanding Sonoran Desert Vegetation. Bring sturdy shoes and water.
Very nice park, logistics are good and easy access (close to Old Tucson), plenty of places to picnic, and you can take hikes around the area too.
The parking area is small and hard to find. I would tell you what to look for but I dont want this gem of a hike to get crowded. It takes 20 min of hiking to get the traffic noise to disappear. By that time the noise is replaced by gusts of wind and magnificent views!
An excellent hike! Awesome views! And we had really nice weather today.
Its a fantastic family place to visit. Beautiful views.
Beautiful views and calming vibes. HIGHLY recommend it.
The absolute best place to visit while staying in Tucson. This outdoor zoo/park shows you all the wildlife hiding in the desert around you!
Best variety of MTB trail in Pima County
Always a nice cruise, the trees green from the rain. The sight of the sunset is gorgous
A very pretty and easy hike. Did Yetman Trail from Camino del Oeste 2mi to a nice viewpoint and picnic spot.
Great for taking pictures of your car, especially on a monsoon night. I went with a photographer and got some stunning pictures. Just be prepared to be stuck behind someone going under the speed limit.
It was such a pretty place to camp! I loved looking at the Saguaros. And we also saw quite a bit of wildlife like the some Javelinas.
Tucson Mountain Park is a marvelous slice of the Arizona Sonoran Desert. Drive it, bike it, or hike it. Just dont miss it.
The trail system is rapidly growing in the Tucson Mtns and most can be accessed from the Starr Pass area. All new maps/signs help navigate. Do yourself a favor and dig into this wonderful desert trail system.
Beautiful area. Lots of pull out areas to have a picnic.
Great sunset views, nice small scale hikes. Close to town and a really good place to show non-locals a bit of what the Tucson area offers.
Beautiful spot for the sunset. During the government shutdown so go to the bathroom before if you can. Popular spot for people to take pictures of the valley at sunset.
Tucson Mountain Park Range has to be one of the most stunning places in all of Arizona. This region is truly an Arizona Desert in all its beauty. The Saguaro Scenery is some of the best worldwide, and every time I pass through the park I am reminded of this. I started my bike ride at Ironwood Hills up to Gates Pass where Tucson Mountain Park starts. Its a narrow road so you have to be very careful on maintaining constant awareness if you choose to ride up on your bike, or if you are driving please be aware of bikers, as this is a very popular ride with Tucsonans. The pics I posted are from both the front and back side of Gates Pass, and a few around the Old Tucson Studios area.
Nice scenic overlook, you can even see Kitt Peak!
Great sunset spot. Beware Rattlers (baby rattle)wefound near toilet area. Few improvement could be impressed upon However over all enjoyed the desert outside without heavy traffic and radios. If you do drive here be aware of monster size speed humps and dusk closure times. Zoom in to see the baby rattle snake in photo
We were here at sunrise to capture the early morning light on the hills and the cactus. What a gorgeous spot!
Best place to take our babies for walks! Just make sure yours have their rabies shots!
Now the campground is using a reservation system. Always used to be first come first served. Cant go on the spur of the moment any more. Sites reserved and not occupied throughout. Too bad, used to be great.
Lots if cool trails and spots to learn about the flora and fauna in the area
Sonoran Desert in Southern Arizona. USA 2019 AD. Public mix of Pictures. Including some of mine, by Gerald Jones,MD
A great place to hike or mountain bike, with great scenery and great views of nature.
A scenic fantasy.
Beatiful Saguaro Cactus set in prestine Tropical Sonoran desert.
Beautiful, free park, with well marked and maintained trails, and several trailheads at road side pullouts. The Brown mountain trial is pretty easy, and offers spectacular views of the valley to the South.
Beautiful doesnt even come close to this... Beyond perfect! Beyond words... Heaven.. Close to it...
Fun place for an outing. Good entertainment and friendly staff.
Gets you up close to the southern Arizona landscape and all its rugged beauty. Watch out for wildlife! Its simply amazing how much life exists in such an extreme environment.
Did not go all the way to the park headquarters but thought the drive to the parks entrance was a real scenic adventure. The hills are covered with hundreds of saguara cactus (the tall ones with the arms). Most were probably 150 to 200 years in age. They dont get their first arms until about 75 years of age. Right on the edge of Tucson, a drive up to the park entrance is a real treat.
Stellar singletrack
So many beautiful trails. The trails are well marked for beginner hikers.
Camaro Loop Trail ~ 2.4 miles with little elevation change. Rated easy. Nice for walking the dog. No other hikers and just two mountain bikers in the distance. Connects to a number of other trails.
Beautiful place to camp in the Sonoran desert. Camp hosts are friendly and helpful with information about the area.
Excellent trails for all levels, love this area. Even saw a wild pig!
One beautiful place to visit . The wife and I come out here every winter for one or two weeks.
Gorgeous trails, perfectly maintained. Views for days!
Such a fun place to visit with many old movie memorabilia!! John Wayne, Paul Newman, High Chapparal, Ann Margaret!!!The movie sets look so small!! The stage coach is running!! Live visiting Old Tucson!!
The only thing that would make this area better would be less people !!
Great drive thru the high desert.
Beautiful in every way
Nice trail map, it seems that this may be one of the few hiking areas in Tucson that have less restrictions on dogs. They also allow mountain bikers but pay attention to the trailhead signage.
Have to drive through here every day to get to work. Beautiful place, appears to be well kept.
Love this Park so well I bought a home next to one of the trail heads.Lived in the area now 4 years. Have hiked all 15 trails and the 800 acres.Theres caves, old mines, wild animals ( I night hike ), watch out for gorgeous views they will captivate your mind.
I went to old Tucson what a great place to visit great show historic old movie and t.v. filming location, things to do for a aged lots of great scenery, barbeque was very good, lots of things to see and do
Very nice hike
Beautiful desert mountain sunset!
Gotta love nature.
Nice quiet place but not exciting the one on Tucson its a lot better you will enjoy yourself and have a lot of fun
The big cacti are so cool. Beautiful trails. Lovely
The long drive was amazing!!
Love the views. One of my favorite places in Tucson.
Trail signs are absent or vandalized. Hard to know which trails to take. Need new signs badly
I live on the outskirts of the park... One of the most beautiful places on earth! Sunsets are spectacular!
Amazing landscape full of cactus, plus trails that allow you to see the magnificent variety. I stopped every few feet just to take in the view.
I come to this place every year for the steampunk convention and it is a whole lot of fun.
Beautiful views and hikes!
My fav place in tucson for sunset. Gets a little busy but still you can hike off and find some mountain all to your self.
Wandering through this landscape makes you feel you are reality in a Western movie. There are many pull-puts along the road where hou can start your hike. Bring a hat and lots of water, though. The landscape is pretty open without much shade.
I love the desert
Great spot for hiking, biking or just a drive
