Open sunrise to sunset. Nice parking area and the tail head is a short walk on the sidewalk towards the school. You can’t miss it. I really the well marked and colored trail. Before you go look on the Hillsborough County website for the trail map to get your bearings on the different loops and color markers. The trail was dry. The tall grasses and wild flowers were very picturesque
Trail was fairly wet, which is not surprising given the rain weve been having. Mostly for break toe roads, with one nice boardwalk /bridge.
Park your car. And walk to the south on the right hand side the opening will be upon you. Its up the street, and keep and eye out on the right/ There is an unofficial opening, but sometimes its flooded out; keep going and youll see the official opening to the trails. Many miles of beautiful trails. There is no camping, restrooms, use of bikes or fires. Not at this location.
MID Nov 2020 water on trails. You can navigate around but be prepared.
Its nice but there isnt much scenery. The oaths are marked well though.
Uncrowded, easy morning walk!
Love it here friends and family deep enough in places to swim but mostly just wading sandy beaches nice little trail down bathrooms and drinking water nice little place
Great area to go with your dog. Easy to get lost so pay attention
Newly blazed and improved trail markings. Be aware the colors for the trails have changed per SOPs for Hillsborough County.
Looked like a nice place but it was closed.
Awesome place. Peaceful
Hours are posted as 8 am - 5 pm so I made sure I returned to my car by 5 pm. However, when I left there were several cars still in the parking lot after 5 pm. So I would like to know when the gate is locked. There is no place to park outside the gate so I dont recommend heading out there in the afternoon. Nice trails but didnt see any birds or wildlife.
Quite a nice area lots of wildlife so wild hogs and many other kinds of birds not a great place for mountain biking but good for hiking some low-lying buddy spots so be prepared for that overall a nice experience especially for this area hope they dont build too many more homes around there though
Took some time to find access to the preserve biking trails off the paved sidewalk. The white no access signs look exactly like the access signs. Once on the trails had a great ride. color coded posts help you find your way back. Also biked the New Tampa road bridge over interstate 75 which had some nice views.
A great venue for a party. They hosted a 50th anniversary party for my inlaws, and it was well received party.
After arriving at the spot, which had a very good directions, you are met with a parking area for about eight cars in a picnic table that is fenced in with nothing else. The location of where its at seemed like I was in some horror film. but if you set that aside and you actually look at the map that is provided on a billboard. You can find out that you have to walk down and main Highway / road to get to the walking and hiking path which turns out to be a small cut in the fence that leads to a cluttered field. to be honest with you I felt like I was trespassing on some kind of government land that hasnt been kept for many years. After walking for about half an hour, which 20 minutes was getting to the entrance, we just started finding nothing but swamp land and pathways were a truck, or some kind of County vehicle, I would drive and there was no clear path to take. A lot of the pathways that we did take was either full of mud or flooded out. I would not suggest going back to it
Lots of trails, but mostly unmarked. First time in my life i got all turned around with blind trails and had to use my GPS! Lots of room to walk & explore, and the weather was gorgeous, which made it all worthwhile.
Pho was soo yummy and staff was friendly
Beautiful, scenic, great for family outtings.
Great place to get a natural feel of Florida
Very quiet...Its a hole in the wall though...Youll miss it if you arint paying attention to the road...Just a walk through the fence is the entrance...
Great spot to hike and enjoy wildlife, however better to access from Freedom high and there is poor access from the parking lot for the park.
Fun day, fun times!
This is for the Cypress Creel Preserve Hillsborough County Park, not for the SFWMD park with the same name in Pasco. This county park is very much on the side of wilderness. There are 3 marked trails and a number of other trails which are unmarked. Trails are rough and frequently turned over by wild pigs. Dont expect anybody else on the trails. Ive seen pigs, deer and snakes on the trails.Of course bring water.
Very nice place to get away in nature
One time i got lost here with a friend for 3 hours but it was fun lol, definitly recommend this place
