I’ve been here many many times over the last 10 years, almost exclusively for the Sunday market. The food is consistently delicious. I miss all the varieties of baking and steamed sweet pastries they used to have. I really really miss the tiny coconut custards with green onion - such a treat but they haven’t had it in 3 years. It’s gotten very busy and expanded quite a bit to accommodate the crowds of people who come for the experience and great Thai food. Everything costs $5 (each) and all profits go towards supporting the Buddhist monks and financing refugees from Thailand.

This is an interesting experience. Get here early, though. Its INSANELY packed and the lines are long. Your best bet for food is to divide and conquer: come with friends and split up in all the lines so you can get your food at a decent time. Prices are fair and the food that we tried was good. I wish we could have had the pho soup, but the line was about 1.2 hours long (no exaggeration). There is also a little farmers market here where you can buy spices, herbs, and orchids among other random goods.

This is personally my favorite place to come and get some delicious food, and walk around the market they do a great job.I read several reviews where people took stars away when reviewing this place. Mostly do to limited parking. I think those people are just miserable people. If you get here late yes it will be packed and the parking lot we be full. Its because everyone loves this places and loves to come here. So why take stars away from them because of everyones want to be here including yourself, Does that make any sense at all? If you come and you have patience and understanding you will love this place too. They work their butts off to make this market happen every sunday for us so if you have to wait a few extra minutes and drive a bit to find parking try understanding its our fault not theirs. My advice is Dont be late getting there and you wont have those issues.

Even we saw an emu roaming around freely! They have beautiful garden and sitting arrangements. Parking available.

This place is so popular now that the lines never stop no matter what food or drink you are looking for. The food was everything that was advertised by the reviews. Such a beautiful and relaxing place. It’s one of Florida secret treasure that everyone should visit and experience. The food is cheap around $1 for drinks, $3 for dessert, $5-$6 for food. The view is so beautiful and breathtaking. The food is hot and cooked there. The lake view is super beautiful and calming. You are also allow to walk into the temple and find your inner peace. The temple is full of positive energy that you feel a weight is lift off your shoulder. There’s meditation pads and chairs. Please be respectful and not wear shorts, tank tops, inappropriate shirts, and take off your shoes. Must visit here every Sunday if you have nothing else to do and want to find fun. Every Sunday, rain or shine, from about 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m, Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai Buddhist Temple holds a cash only Sunday Market. It is reminiscent of the night markets in SE Asia. Temple volunteers cook fresh, authentic Thai food and sells them to fundraise. The food stands are situated adjacent to the Temple. Food prices are extremely affordable and the atmosphere is serene as the Temple sits on the shore of the Palm River. Many buy their food and eat at the picnic tables by the river.Food sampled: Larb Gai (Chicken With Lime, Chili and Fresh Herbs) and Pork Panang Curry (a Sweet and Savory Curry). For those interested in entering the worship area, you must remove your shoes and wear appropriate clothing (no shorts, or short skirts, etc...)

This is the Thai temple of the South as it may be the only one. It sits in a neighborhood and across the street from a church. Cops are hired on Sundays to help direct traffic. If you want parking and a nice one at that, come early meaning 8:30am (when they open) to 9:00am. Anytime after that is no guarantee and it will be hectic. Dont say that I didnt forewarn you.We went there this yesterday when they were celebrating Thai new years which was neat and more busy than usual but their boat noodles are to die for. It always has a line but I tell you, it is worth it. You can get a regular $6 bowl or large bowl for $8, you also have the option of more meat as well for $1 upcharge. They have upgrade their bowls to the biodegradable bowls so you just throw it away after you are done eating. They also have other options of food such as different types of curry, sausages, meat jerky, papaya and chicken on a stick with sticky rice. The food there is very affordable with most dishes costing a $5 donation. The benches are more than plenty of room to sit and enjoy the river with a pier that you can go on and enjoy the view even more upfront.I go there from time to time and love it. If you are attempting to get into the temple, you must be covered up from showing your legs, arms, and etc. In respect for the temple, of course so very understandable. You have to make the trip out!

They say there are lines and they arent kidding, but everyone was pleasant and happy. Theres no real indication of how things work, but it turned out that there are several different lines for different foods. They went quickly and the food was pretty good. Not much to choose from if you dont eat meat or dairy but there were a couple of things. Its communal seating in the back along the river under the trees. They have a multitude of food items to choose from along with a Thai tea and Thai desert station. They also have a garden market where you can purchase different flowers, spice plants, etc. The one thing to keep in mind is that this place takes cash ONLY. I dont believe they have an ATM onsite so make sure you have cash on you ahead of time. The parking here is free and they have a decent amount of parking spots, however, I highly recommend that you get there early. Anytime after 11AM and youll be stuck in traffic and you may not find a parking spot. Also, if they run out of food at any point, thats it. They wont make anymore. That is why its important to get there early and get in line for the food you want. Once you get your food, they have a bunch of picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds so you dont have to worry about finding seating.
