One of the most beautiful parks in Springfield. If I were bringing someone from out of town to the park, this is where I would go. Great neighborhood. Stone masonry accentuates beautiful landscape. Not especially large.

This is such a lovely park with a beautiful and peaceful canvas of large trees. It has several sporadically placed picnic tables and a large playground area for the children with a very nice playground equipment. It has a fantastic parking area and a walking track completely around the park.

This park is so peaceful and our family feels safe here. It has a nice parking lot but is a bit far from the playground for the kids. We like to take lunch and eat under the pavilion then walk to the playground. Plenty of trees for shade and benches. Its well maintained and great area for pets. In the winter we still drive to sit in the parking lot to view the park area while eating lunch if we are out shopping.

I used to love this park, but its just not worth the hassle. The maintenance man has some sort of weird God complex and instead of doing his job he takes it upon himself to police the grounds. If you want a good place to play with your dogs, this is not it. Youre better off going to Nathaniel Greene.

Phelps Grove Park is an amazingly peaceful park to go to, for a nice run around the track, dog walking, picnics, bbqs or just playing on the toys. Its safe and clean and mostly shaded, from the very mature trees it provides. We have had several birthdays and get togethers here and every one of the family can enjoy. We you like hearing the birds chirp and seeing squirrels. This park is for you. Its also directly behind the museum, that is a must to visit!

In general a nice park but gets very overcrowded and a very large amount of people dont follow the parks very basic rules of no motorized vehicles in the park and no bicycles, rollerskates, skateboards, etc on the walking path and a lot of people dont clean up after their dogs even with several clean up stations provided.

Great mid-town park. You can tell how long its been around, with the huge beautiful trees. Has something for all - running/walking path with exercises along the way of you want, playground, tennis courts, pavilion with restrooms (dirty like many parks) and great place to meditate. There is also a kiddie pool across the street.

It has a nice pavilion, with electricity, great for events. And its not too expensive to reserve. There are bbq grills and picnic tables, scattered around the park. There is a pretty nice playground. There is a walking trail all the way around it, I walk there almost every morning, with or without the dog. I like that they have bags to clean up after your dog. But I wish everyone walked the same direction.

I really like this place. Its quiet in the fall (Probably because its way too cold). The people that come there are friendly, quiet, & dosent stay too long. I love listening to the birds singing early in the morning while I chugalug a cup of hot coffee (it has to be Folgers coffee!!). All in all, its a good to have a pick nick or to have a good time, or just spend quality time with your children !

Spacious and beautiful. The playground is spread out between swings, solo slides, and the main play sets. I like that this park is set up in the middle of a huge patch of grass with a walking trail around the perimeter. I have a “runner” so having a ton of space is great for me.I enjoy listening to the birds and catching some sunshine. Although this park is surrounded by beautiful trees there aren’t any shading the playground which can totally suck in the summer. Hot metal and plastic galore. The bathrooms could use an update but they function as is.

My son and I enjoyed driving over the cool brick bridge to get in, and we enjoyed sitting in the shade to eat some cupcakes. Its a park, its hard to really find anything wrong with a park unless the gyms are broken and dangerous, and there are shady people.Didnt have a problem when I was here.

A great park near the Springfield Art Museum. A walking trail around the perimeter of the park its nice for a short stroll. Great for children to play in or hammocking. A very nice big Pavilion for renting.

Ki
Review №65

Very disappointed! A family member of ours rented the pavilion and paid way ahead of time. When we got there 2 other groups of people where using 3/4 of the pavilion. No sign to indicate it was reserved and no one to call to enforce their rental agreement. The pavilion is nice and well kept up but why reserve and pay for something you wont even be guaranteed to use. If we were a conformational and asked them to leave I could see how and why problems occur. Maybe even dangerous ones. I think the park should take some responsibility when people pay and rent the pavilion. At least put a sign. I dont think our family will ever use this pavilion again.

Review №77

I love the size of this park, but some of the equipment needs to be replaced. The park is pretty old, and has a wading pool in the summer for toddlers and small children. The grills at this park are built from stone, so they take longer and more coal to heat up if you come here to grill. The park is typically busy, and there are only two swings in the park. Other than that, great outdoor space.
