Lots of great trails! Old farm ruins that makes for some great pics. Connects all the way to Truman Elementary so you can walk a little or a lot! Well kept but still wild.
Hole in the wall of a park, but its a beautiful hike! Long paths through the woods and fields, a riverbed, and some swings for the kids. Plenty of parking too, and a few picnic tables for those looking to have a family meal out in nature
I was very impressed with this area. The caves and rock structures are cool. I did learn about WNS with bats.
We love this little known gem. Great place for rock hunting in the creek bed.
This is a nice little park. Its pretty short, our walk totalled 2.75 miles, and the entire path is paved, unless you take one of the offshoots. There is a nice creek that runs along most of the trail. When the water is high the water does run over the path in two different locations, so you will need to water cross. At the end of the trail lies a small cemetery. Overall a good spot if youre looking for a short walk.
Great place to take your dog for a walk. Our boy loved it!
Fantastic park with great walking trails. There are cans for picking up after your dog at the top of the trailhead, but none along the way. This place has multiple places to cross the creek-- these can be very slippery so be careful!-- as well as spots to play in the water. Wide paths to walk on give plenty of room so you can stay on the path if a bike needs to pass. Love this park!
Awesome place to hike, cool old silo and building right at the start, some caves in the hills, and nice trails!
Great place to walk or ride bikes along the greenway trail. Lots to explore around the main area including historical buildings.
Attended a wedding here, nice and quiet place. Very nice.
Plenty of parking including sunshade. Beautiful spot to walk around in
Several miles of paved trails with two options of places to walk to. Lots of beautiful sights, and access to a creek. Took our dog along too! Dogs must be leashed.
Wish there was more water in the creek right now, but great paths to walk! Very peaceful out here.
Nice place to walk the dogs and let them play in the creek for a few hours.Great place for people handicapped in wheelchairs to stroll on and really enjoy a quiet beautiful track through Missouri Country.
This park is beautiful! So peaceful and quiet, great for nature lovers. One path (the right path) is only about 1.25 miles one way, but the other goes for several miles. Great for cycling or walking, paved the whole way. Not ideal after heavy rains as both paths have crossings that flood. We often see deer as well.
My only concern is the lack of access once your deep into the trails for emergency help if something bad were to happen. Overall, beautiful trail!!
A beautiful place to go for a walk or a picnic.
A pretty quiet place with little traffic. Great views and an all around hit with the family
Awesome place with lots of natural features and history.
This is a nice quiet trailhead to park at.
We had LOTS of fun playing in the river. The water was SO COLD though-- felt good since it was so hot outside
A tranquil end of the Ozrarks Greenways Trail, to park.
Nice place to walk with your dog or kids
This place is amazing my husband and i loved the trails and the water is so clean and so many great people!
Hidden, but easy to access. Great for kids and relaxation for adults.
Beautiful landscape right outside the city.
Wonderful place to take the dogs! Nice walking path with interesting spots along the way. We had a wild deer come up to us (well, no further than 10 feet away), beautiful trees, and, of course, the little creek (which we couldnt cross because the water was a bit too high). Cant wait to return!
The creek was dry, but nice walking trails
This place is awesome! Great, clean walking trail and perfect creek for swimming!
I’ve visited Lost Hill Park on a chilly November afternoon. The amenities are a parking lot, small picnic area, two portable toilets, a swingset, and a paved trail that generally follows along the side of a stream. There are no bridges across the stream. Instead, where the trail crosses the stream there is pavement at the ground/water level to walk across. I don’t know how often these stream crossings may be dry, but during my visit, after a day of rain a couple of days ago, the water was flowing rapidly over the pavement at about ankle depth. In other words, since I was on foot I had reached a dead end after hiking only 1/2 mile. It’s beautiful, but nothing like the hike I thought I would get when I came here. There are no trail maps or signs, so I have no idea how much more trail there would’ve been if I could’ve crossed the stream. It looks like the primary usage is for bicyclists, who are encouraged to walk their bikes across the stream when the water is high, really? Fine in the summer, but not so much in the spring and fall! For me this was a big disappointment after driving a long way to get here based upon the reviews I’ve read by others.
Its a nice little park with some cute dogs near the entrance. Just be prepared to take off your shoes and wade through some water because there a couple areas of the path that intentionally have water flowing over them.
Great place to walk/bike and take pictures. Even a neat cave to see, the public is not allowed inside though.
My daughter had her wedding here. We love. It.
Awesome walk/jog/bicycle park. Paved trails, picnic benches and creek.
This is one of my familys go-to parks in Springfield. Its never crowded and always well kept. Very clean trails with plenty of distance to walk. There is a nice creek running through as well.
Love this park great for a nice hike
Paved trails and a wonderful wet weather creek to play in make Lost Hill a true gem.
Neat trail, the river crossing is slick when the water is high so be careful!
I dont want to tell anybody how amazing this park is because I dont want it to get more crowded....
An amazingly beautiful and serene place! I feel lucky to be able to experience the history and beauty here. Beautiful serene place to go
I only recently found this park, and wish I had sooner! The trails are very scenic and well-maintained, but I will admit they are not especially long. I would say 2 miles one way at best, but very enjoyable. To me, the thing that makes this park stand out among others are the geological features here. There are several small natural arches, as well as several caves that you can explore on foot. A creek runs through the park and is dry at certain times of the year, and it’s one of my favorite activities to go there and look for fossils and interesting stones. The best part is that it’s rarely used, so you may only encounter one or two other people on the trails, which is great when you want to get away from people and into nature. The scenery varies from beautiful rolling fields to what it areas and hills. Highly recommended, there’s even a small pioneer cemetery towards the back of the park that you can visit!
Nice, peaceful.
I love it here.
Awsome place great trail and river and if you climb the hill theres an old cave with a man maid wall and fire place its definitely hiddin but if you fin it its a cool spot on the side it says cozy cave club
This place is cool, but just know that in the interesting areas that are not kid areas as such, but are like the neatest areas to explore and play, there are rusty sharp nails sticking up in several areas! We had been playing and exploring for some time when we noticed, and then decided to leave and on the way out had a very close call with our four year old and another nail! We ate so lucky we didnt need a tetanus shot!
Great simple place out in the country just outside of town. Black topped path leading to creek and eventually shooting range. There is a path off to the right walking through the pasture that leads to a creek crossing, go across that if your adventurous and back to the black top path.. walk another 50 yds and there is a elevated rock ledge great for a jump and swimming hole. Stay away during high water, current is too strong to enjoy. Park also has a simple play and swing set great for the littles... worth the trip if youre looking for peace and some play time away from the chaos.:)
Really quiet, nice walk down to the water.
Looks as if they are planning to expand the trail over to the hidden caves.
Sometimes you can go on the creek bed which is cool. Otherwise it just feels like walking around town. You dont really go into the forest much. Scenery is boring.
It is nice for a city owned area, a little disappointed that the creek is completely dry, I found that odd given all the rain, there was some debris in the creek bed that doesnt belong there, like a rusted metal barrel, and what looked like left over bricks and an old wheel. Also, a little disappointed in the residential area right in the middle.
There is a couple of natural ached and a cool cave
Fantastic place to take a hike, picnic, splash in the water, explore, hunt/hide rocks. Love going there
Not very populated, ample parking, and if you go after theres been rain you can play in the creek. Biking is a little tedious since parts of the trail has either blind corners or is too narrow to pass two people walking but if youre kind and announce youre behind them most folks step to the side.
Excellent for longboarding
From Lost Hill Park to Truman Elementary School and back again, expect to clock in close to six miles. Elevation gentle rises and falls roughly five flights and the scenery and wide paved trail make this a perfect, easy hike.
Great trails, well maintained, and easy for kids!
Its beautiful there, the wife and I like to walk the trails when the weather is nice. And we see something different every time. If you like to take pictures there are some good places here. I would definitely come check the place out. Its free and beautiful, and it relaxing
Great paths to walk with the dog! Was a little bit flooded which made it kind of slick!
What a great place. We went and lived it. Its a beautiful place to go to relax
I just love nature and it was a beautiful day. Clean and peaceful.I kind of wish the creek had water!! Its still fun to walk in dry creeks though and it was an amazing time.
Great walking trail. A nice place to get out in nature. Usually quiet with few other people, which is a plus for me. Technically there is a swing set, but really the park is more for exploring the trails or playing in the creek during the summer.
Awesome place to walk your dogs.
Very nice quiet park! No playground equipment for kids that I saw but plenty of walking room.
We love the trails at this park! Great for biking or walking.
Great place for a short hike or a walk. A Big river runs though the land.
It was super nice and beautiful
Very nice and clean
Sooo fun and not busy at all
Great for family and friends and walking your dog its beautiful
Nice place
Great hiking, great rock formations if you do the dry river. They opened a bit more trail that will take you by an old cemetary
The dried up riverbed is really beautiful right now
Great walking trail. Really clean.
Love this place. Great for dogs, kids and family walks. Bring shoes that can get wet as there are water overpasses that are slick. Paved trail and mostly covered with trees.
A great place to take the family. Paved walking trails, multiple paths to take, swing set, picnic area, and located in scenic, quiet woods.
Wonderful place to spend the day exploring or to relax with the family.
Great place to walk and get away from the city
A wondrous hidden location! Great for bikes, walking, running and exploring.
Very very much I want to go again
