I loved that it was covered in chalk graffiti. There was amazing art, but it changes depending on the weather.

Is not the type of park youd expect. It has a stage in it, few monumental art pieces representing Downtown Springfield. Bunch of stair cases. Homeless people tend to sleep here at night.

Founders Park is like a history of Springfield you can walk through thats presented on metal plaques mounted on concrete blocks of varying size and shape. Its a very interesting place to do a photographic study on the shape of shadows because of the regularity of the shapes. Historical information is interesting also butlast year, I dont know if theyre still doing it this year, they projected Disney movies on one of the larger concrete and it was a free public event. Theres a water featurein the form of a waterfall that comes out of the top of one of the concrete shapes, its flat not super interesting but still cool. Its kind of otherworldly, kind of surreal and I like it.

While Founders Park is an interesting small park about 2 blocks away from downtown Springfield, it is often a spot for homeless to gather and sleep. Because of this the only good time to go to visit the park is during the morning and afternoon. As it gets later in the day, its wise not to head over it you want to relax. Oh and at night the park is locked shut.

Often times there are people resting or weathering out the heat, cold, rain but this isnt a dangerous place. They play movies here on Fridays and Saturdays, I think, and they have a little booth that sells popcorn and stuff. Its actually a really neat little park.

Founders Park is kind of neat the first time you discover it. Other than that, its a barren bunch of concrete surrounded by wrought iron fencing. It radiates heat and the smell of urine.

Sadly the city doesnt care about founders park. The homeless use the fountain as a bath. This area is in desperate need of upkeep as it is dirty, unsafe and could be a great place for music, events and plays. A true shame.
