This is our favorite local park. Just enough play equipment, just enough open space, just the right balance between old equipment style and really interesting innovative play equipment. We particularly love the new style merry-go-round and the mommy and me swings.

Good park overall. Great equipment. Its in a so-so neighborhood, so there are sometimes people of questionable quality there, but its still a great park.

Beautiful new park!

Wheelchair accessible playground & equipment, bbq grills, covered picnic tables, benches, walking trail, basketball hoops, tennis court, baseball field, & soccer field with nets. Occasionally, some unseemly characters -- mostly teens. Not the worst, not the best. Still a decent place for family time in the Heart of the Westside.

Great Park only reason why I gave 3 stars was no access to the bathroom

We were there March 24th (Sunday). The park has very nice playground equipment but it had trash all over the place. People leaving their food containers, drink cups, ect just thrown everywhere. There was no trashcans anywhere. And to my understanding especially with the pandemic thats going on I thought parks were supposed to be cleaned frequently? I will not let my children play at this one again.

Oh my gosh my kids had so much fun here and there’s so many activities for all different ages! It’s not only wonderful for children with disabilities but it is also fabulous for every other child to play on. We don’t live near the park but I will willingly drive there every week just so my kids can play on the playground. There’s always kids to play with and there’s always children of diverse range of ages to play with.

I love the new playground equipment! Im disappointed by the fact that people dont pick up after themselves.There were water bottles and just random trash here & there!!

Nichols Park is a hidden little gem of a park that has great, fun new equipment for the kids, shaded sitting areas extremely close so you can let your kids play worry free...because you are three inches away from them :) they also have a two small basketball courts and a tennis court plus lots of running room to jog the kids..I mean dogs around. A great place to get some of that excess energy out thats for sure!

The grandchildren love going to the park where there is lots to do. You will be a hero if you take your children to this park family friendly.

This playground is my daughters absolute favorite place to come play. The updated playground equipment is pretty phenomenal with things for all age groups of kids. Always meet friendly people while my girl plays with the other kids.

Great place to take the grandkids, or if youre younger, the kids. I do believe many more would go if they put in some nap benches. Just sayin

The surface around the playground equipment is nice and well kept. The restrooms are not currently available. The area is well away from the street with lots of room.

This is such a great park. Theyve got new equipment for kids to play on. Its even got a giggle/fart box lol. Its an awesome track you walk that goes pretty much all the around the whole park. Huge field to play soccer in. Theyve got bathrooms. Water fountains. A sitting area with picnic table that is a great place for birthday gatherings. Tennis courts and basket ball courts.

Decent enough park, but there are often high school aged kids and older down there causing trouble. If you take young children watch them closely as the older kids dont mind knocking them over or hitting then with balls. Park itself is nice though. Good equipment.

I thought it was a pretty nice place. There playground has black turf instead of wood chips so it doesn’t hurt your feet! There’s also a pavilion for parties and such. I just don’t know if they have a grill or not?

Awesome park! They have those infant swings where you can swing with baby. They have a marry go round, safer than when we were kids. One of those circle type swings. Lots of field area to play ball. Plenty of parking. Shade trees. Seating. Overall its an amazing park. I dont use public restrooms, so I didnt notice if they had one or not.

Its a very clean and well kept... It as well is locally convenient and easily accessible... Lawncare wise it stays very well kept... The play ground area is amazin for all ages children...

Great place to bring the kiddos to play with lots of open space to play games, toss the ball around, or just let them run around and just burn off some of their excess energy without worrying to much about them finding someone there doing something they shouldnt be doing anywhere, but deffinetly shouldnt be doing in a place meant for families to be enjoying recreational time togeather. Id recommend this park to any family looking for a safe place to have fun outside togeather!!

All new nice play equipment

Nice park! I was told all new equipment was added last year cause it looked new and fun for the kids. Kids didnt play we went to watch a football practice. I will be going back with the kids to check it out more and see how they enjoy all the play ground equipment.

Reasonably priced housing and a lower cost of living are attractive reasons to relocate to Springfield, MO, however, be prepared for inadequate transportation systems, including a lack of enough freeways to handle the ever growing traffic problem, inadequate police to work the traffic, and an attitude by the locals about progress that is about 20 years behind times. Also, because homes are much cheaper here, theres an abundance of slum lords and an apparent lack of concern on the part of the city council to enact ordinances concerning them. Hopefully, as more people relocate here, the city council will become aware that things need to change, infrastructure needs to be updated, more police need to be hired, and the era of The Good Old Boys club, (city council and mayor) mentality needs to go.

Has a long walking trail baseball field and a huge play area for the kids. Only rated four stars because there isnt much to see except centrals baseball field which you cant access and the rest is a view of a Northside neighborhood and a field.

Went there to toss frisbee around lots of fun met a couple new people and taught a kid to throw a frisbee I enjoyed my self great place to get outside and do something fun!

Really fun, quiet in the morning, fields for activities if your not playing the equipment. Medium to large size play ground, huge fields.

Great place to hold a Sunday church service and BBQ afterwards! Plenty of room for the kids to play and the Pavillion is nice for the adults to relax. Only issue really, is the playground is still under construction but overall beautiful park tucked away on the north side of town..

This park is so big and full of nothing but older outdated mostly unused equipment needs update plus better public transportation maybe plant some flowers like Nathaniel green. In that huge empty field of grass

It used to be really crappie but they are now able to fix it up and it has good new playground equipment and supplies. They also are putting a new walking and running track.
