Kids seem to enjoy the park. There are live animals that you can see up close. There is even a friendly cat that will say hello. It would be nice if there were more interpretative signs that told you more about the animals and the processes of the farm. There is access to the green way trials from the parking lot. But be aware they lock the gate at closing time.
What a beautiful park! I really enjoyed walking here today. There are a number of great things to say about this park. Firstly there is a playground for this kiddos, then there are long scenic stretches of paved trial, there are bathrooms at the farm, and there is a little stream that you cross over a few times. Its a great place to walk or ride a bike!
They have pygmy goats, regular size goats, they have mini horses and mini donkeys and two adorable cats. We had a blast there we also took home two pumpkins from the enormous pumpkin patch. If you want to have some fun with the kids I recommend going here.
Fun place to take the baby. Animals and lots of room to walk and enjoy the outdoors. Whats not to like?
We love coming here! The playground is amazing, especially in the summer heat with a lot of shade, the gazebo next to it is beautiful with flowers all around it, the stocked fishing pond is beautiful and the animals are very well taken care of and there are a lot of them for a smaller farm! The park holds many events each year such as Christmas lights and a fall festival. Definitely the best park in Springfield!
This is a nice little park. You can introduce yourself and children to a variety of animals. There is also play ground equipment to burn some of that energy off.
We had a great time here and so did our dog. He loved seeing all the different animals.
Fun farm tour and nice little benches to eat at with family/friends. Also a nice bonus for families is the kids playground. Great place, great time.
My kids and I enjoyed our trip to Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park thoroughly!Amidst the covid virus problems and all of the confusion it is a great time with children. The corn maze is fairly big with wide trails. The pumpkin patch is fairly simplistic but has a wide variety of fairly priced pumpkins the kids can have fun finding with many farm animals to feed plus stuffed oreos and funnel cakes!!! Need I say much more!?
Great family activity. Plenty to do and see that is free. Cant wait to go again!
One of our favorite parks to visit! Wish their hours were not so restrictive, but understandable. Kids love to come here and see the animals, as well as, play on the nice playset they have. We attended a fishing event here as well for a little catch and release and our toddler had a blast. They have all sorts of events year-round and it is a great place to bring the kids.
I love the trails. Theyre so pretty and theres water to can cool off in. The doggos love it here so of course I have to as well
Nice place to walk run or ride. Kids can enjoy the farm lots of activities.
So much fun! Great place to bring kids! Very family friendly
I mean, its free but staff was super rude and imo not a lot to do. I would hate to go there when theres more people there.
I love this place! It never disappoints!
This is an extremely fun place to bring your kids to playset is awesome definitely a cool place to kick it as a family!! Animals to pet pumpkins to pick and a maze to get lost in. We loved it
There is so much to do here, pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm, playground, and a stocked fishing pond. It was a lot of fun!
People kept their distance and were respectful of others. Everything was perfectly organized ️.
Great place for kids. Were making the corn maze when we were there. Be finished soon.
Went today to get pumpkins but got there too late. Will have to try again.
I really like the farm, like to come back in the morning hours, will return soon
Beautiful place to be. Im glad that they decided to hold off with halloween this year because of the virus. It just shows that they care.
So fun to walk around and pet all of the animals!
Grandkids loved the animals. Also the play area.
Great park. Cool spot to take the kids.
Such a fun family place. We tend to go in the spring (baby animals!) and in the fall (pumpkins!)Its free to go. They do have paid options (especially in the fall when they do hayrides and pumpkin picking), but they are reasonably priced. They have certain areas with walkways, other areas have gravel and might be hard for a wheelchair.
This place is absolutely wonderful! There is so much to do here. Perfect for every age, so bring the whole family. Its fun and educational. The restroom is clean and staff is friendly. We love going to all the different events they have. They have a one-of-a-kind place!!
Great place for kids to pick out pumpkins! Friendly staff.
Beautiful fall day with lots to do with friends and family.
I took my son here years ago, and now I take my daughter frequently :)
Rutledge has a ton of fun things for a city family to visit and catch a little bit of farm knowledge. There’s farm animals and the kids can get close. My toddler absolutely loves it.They’ve got a jungle gym and have seasonal activities to do.My only complaint is they close at 5pm on weekdays, so the only opportunity for a working family to go is on the weekend, which makes it packed during that time. There’s a trail at the back end that is paved and goes quite a ways. It’s pretty cool man. We dig it.
Had a birthday party for my grandson first birthday.
Very nice park... they have live animals just everything that you would think of on a real farm a pond with fishing bike trails a cool playground that looks like the inside of a barn Kids enjoy this place in the best part of it is that it is free way2go Springfield
Great little farm in the city... wish there were more animals to pet.
We enjoyed the paved trails. Need to come back with bikes.
Absolutely loved it! My grandkids had a great time! Riding the pony, riding the cow train....the corn maze. Picking their own pumkins was an adventure! Cant wait to go again. Thank you for a great family adventure!
Fun and relaxing place to be when the weather permits... Great stop if biking on the nearby Greenway trail...
A great place to visit if you want the peaceful feeling of being in the quite country. Surrounded by open fields, farm animals and a pond, its easy to forget your in the city. Picnic tables and benches around the large pond make for a perfect picnic or lunch break. Also a very nice play area for the kids. The barn like appearance gives kids an imagination of climbing and sliding in a barn on the farm.
My 2 year old loves this place! This place has a playground suitable for most kids, my boy is 2 and loves it. There are about 5 slides. Theres a pond that is stocked for fishing, 2 firepits you can reserve. There are even some animals including goats and 2 bicycles for little tykes to ride on! We are typically there for about 2 hours. Check out their fall harvest fest they have each year too where they have inflatables, hayrides and corn maze and bunches of other fun stuff too!
Great farm, amazing fishing and fun all around.
Very cool place to check out!
This farm in the middle of Springfield work very hard and always host amazing events. Even though cost for them to provide these events absolutely has increased...they seem to understand its about the kids and keep things very affordable. I started taking my 4 kids around 2009 or so. .and it quickly became a holiday tradition. They have so many great memories even when just coming to play or fish. Thanks for being a great place for family :)
At the Fall Volunteer Outing with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks (my junior and senior years of college), of which, yes, I had been a weekly volunteer until the Coronavirus pandemic began. I enjoyed the opportunity to dress up as a Cool Cat--yes, fedora, sunglasses, button-up vest over white dress shirt and tie, khaki pants, Western boots--and enjoy the beautiful nature scenery and some memories of media from the late 20th century that I had enjoyed in Fall 2014 and 2016--portions of the openings to some Disney videocassettes from the 1980s and 90s on YouTube; the 1997 Pixar short Geris Game; Enyas 1987/1992 album The Celts.Sadly, though, I could not whistle with my fingers--try I might, I still cannot--or else this outing wouldve been a great opportunity to do so, paired with my Cool Cat outfit!
My son loves this place. It is an excellent free adventure for your little one. Bring some quarters to get some feed for the animals. We went Saturday and there were baby sheep about a week old. Excellent playground for the kiddos too.
I Love it, my kids love it, it so beautiful and heart warming. I love how its free and theres is a gift shop.
Always a good time, with plenty to do for the kids.
My boys and I loved this park! We came on a super hot July day so there werent many animals out, but my boys had a great time exploring and playing on the playground. They playground has a great design with lots of places to climb and slide. My boys played here for hours and would have stayed longer if I let them! There are good spots for parents to sit and there is a neat covered picnic area.Next time we will bring their fishing poles as there are nice spots around the pond to stand and fish.
My 10 year old had a really great time. Corn maze, rides, arts and crafts etc. Made great memories my princess will remember forever with me. Couldnt ask for more.
The last time we went was right after the baby pigs had been born. It was lovely. The weather cooperated. The majority if not all of the animals that could be out were out. My daughter got to experience all of the animals and ask all kinds of questions and if I didnt know an answer there was always a staff member nearby that did. The perfect place for a kiddo.
The harvest festival was great fun for me and the grandkids, ages 1 1/2 - 9. The best things for us were the horse rides, bouncy houses, and the corn maze. They worked great with the kids on the horses, even the 1 year old rode (with Mommy walking by her) and loved it, and she was having nothing to do with being the bouncy games.. :). They had obviously put a lot of work into the corn maze and the kids and adults had a lot of fun in it.The worst parts were the 1) unexpected high cost, especially when bringing 4 kids and 2 adults. The way it was advertised, I thought it was primarily free, with a nominal charge for some activities (or something close to that quote). It was free to get in and to park, but then virtually all the activities cost 1-5 tickets and each ticket cost $1!!! Multiply 5 tickets x 4 kids and you see what I mean-- and that is only 1 event. Only the horses cost 5, but many blessings of them were 2-3 tickets. The other disappointing thing was the carnival games - the people running them were very nice, but the games were simplistic (preschool level mostly) and though there were 6 games, there were only 2 toys to pick from for all 6--a whistle and a slap bracelet--they were cool ones, but how many does a kid need?
Super fun to go in the Fall. There’s animals to pet, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and good kettle corn! No complaints
This is a wonderful place to take your children. Educational opportunities. Great Park and recreational facilities. Well worth the drive if you dont live in the Springfield area and if you do live in the Springfield area theres no reason that you shouldnt go at least once a
Good fun family place to go!
Farm Fest is a great family event. We usually end of buying $20 worth of tickets for our one child, but that usually last 1/2 a day.During “non-fest” time, the park and petting area are still worth the visit. There is lots to do all year round.
Amazing gem in the middle of the city.
Absolutely beautiful place ! The kids love ot here and great place for great photos...
So many things for the kids to do and most of it is free!!
Always a fun trip with the kids. Nice area to play, have a picnic, play with some animals, and even fish.
Awesome place to go if you have small children and grandchildren
This is one of our favorites!!! Love the animals, the walking trail and the childrens play area. Perfect family place.
Its good farm fun and a chance for kids who have never been on a farm to see the animals and know where milk, eggs, etc come from. Small study playground. Dock with free fishing, bring your own pole and tackle.
It is always good place for the kiddos
My daughter loves the kids play barn. Its one of the coolest playgrounds Ive ever seen. We love to visit the animals here the corn maze in the fall. Its always fun!
This is a unique park that is fun for the whole family. Theres a beautiful barn where you can see cows, mini ponys, pigs, chickens, rabbits, goats, turkeys, and more. The kids love the playground, which is also farm themed and has several very fast slides. They stock the pond for fishing too. The park hosts various special events throughout the year including festivals and workshops. In the summer there are summer camps for kids. In the fall they have a Fall Fest that runs over several weekends in September and October. The Fall Fest includes a corn maze, pumpkin patch, haunted trail (for ages 12 and older), cow train rides, and carnival type games. They also have two fire pits that you can rent for group gatherings.
Family loves this Farm, baby animals and the Zombie Run .... awesome
Such a fun place full of activities. Free to go and my kids had a fantastic time.
This place is an insane park, I cant believe this is a free public park!!!
Nice facility, nice playground equipment! There were goats, chickens, turkeys, minature horses and minature donkeys. The fishing pond is nice though we didnt catch any fish!
I live in the surrounding area so I’ve been here a few times. The main reason I come here is so my kids can play on their unique play set and I can roast to death The play set looks like a barn and has a ton of ladders, slides, steps, and tunnels. The black squares they use for the floor inside/outside radiate heat and there isn’t any shade so it gets HOT when it’s sunny and 80 outside. Bring cold water!!!!As for the seasonal stuff they put on Its okay. The October one is cute for little kids, probably 5 and under. There’s a corn maze, pumpkin patch, tractor ride, cow train ride, and of course some live animals. The December drive thru is $5 and not really worth it. I went in 2018 and it was just a string of lights illuminating the trail. They had some light displays but a majority of The displays were wood cut outs that had been painted. As for the grounds, it’s clean! There’s plenty of room for kids to run around.
Amazing for a free public park
I love going here to look at the animals, but they dont pay their workers enough. And I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure they receive public funding. I also wish there was more to do for older children. There is a play area, but its not very big. They have rides in the fall and a corn maze. A lot of positives, but the negative of underpaying your workers is a big one.
Wonderful park with farm animals, fishing, lots of family events, a very nice playground area, and more. One of the best parks in Missouri.
We go to the Haunted Trail every year, and its always amazing! Thanks to all the people who donate their time to pull this off, its my favorite fall activity. Also, the barn is fantastic, I love being able to love on the animals, including the couple of barn cats :)
Awesome close up experience with farm animals
I met a friend here so we could take our dogs for a walk in the trails. Its a beautiful place with lots to see. Its very kid friendly too and there is plenty of parking.
Amazing for family and kids.
This experience was absolutely wonderful. Our granddaughter had her second birthday party here and they were able to rent a room and feed the animals and have an extremely good time all because there was an ability to reserve. Not quite sure how much it cost but something like $100. Definitely worth the money!
Really great playground and adorable animals. Kids all loved it, only downside was how terribly rude a staff member, a young lady with long hair, was to my 6 year old. Maybe because it was a hot day, but also saw the same staff member be incredibly rude to another family. Otherwise it was a decent trip, but not totally worth the bother of going out there just to have some girl hurt my child’s feelings for asking a question.
Petting zoo is free. Had a handful of different farm animals you could visit and pet. Well maintained and helpful friendly staff. They have a play scape that looks like a barn and silo. The kids absolutely enjoyed everything about this place... The only thing is its a long walk to the bathrooms if you have little ones. Other than that I would have given 5 stars.
It was a lot of fun to go with my family. Pumpkin patch, Corn Maze, Hay ride and lots more. Totally recommend
This place is great!
This place is a very amazing place to take your kids to go look at animals and play.. both my daughter went on there school field trips here.... great for all ages ...
Paid money and didnt get to do anything with our kids. They could have told us before we paid they were only catering to school kids. So didnt get any back, very disappointing. Wont be back.
We come here several times a year and my kids always have a blast. There’s so much to do and so much to say but my children love the playground the most.
Love taking my little here she is always excited to see the animals and fish in the catch and release pond. Not sure when they put in the fire pits but that was a fantastic idea.
Pumpkins are not grown there and are quite expensive.I ordered fried mushrooms and only got 5 small little buttons. Not work the 5$
This is a great place to go with the kids and the fact that there isnt an charge to park or get in is a bonus. Weve made it an annual event to go for Halloween.
I love this place, my son always has a blast as well. The farm offers various farm animals to interact with, from cows to horses, to goats, chickens and turkeys etc. And during holiday events they offer fun tracker rides with various games and activities to enjoy alone with concessions.
I am leasing a raised garden space here this season. The other gardeners have been very friendly and supportive, and I recommend people in apartments or without a good garden space in their yard give the community garden a try. There are also hiking/biking trails, a playground, farm animals; its a great place to bring family, and there are special events throughout the year.
We made this a pit stop on our road trip. Very nice farm playground, several animals to see and pet, trails to walk, and a fishing pond. We were able to rent and pole and buy worms! They also had picnic tables and very clean restrooms.
We had so much fun there for the harvest festival. The kids had so much fun and even rode horses for the first time.
