While we have a pretty awesome zoo here in Houston, it’s always fun to visit other cities’ zoos and see what they have to offer. This zoo definitely didn’t disappoint! While it was a little chilly when we visited (we’re from Texas, so 37 degrees is cold, okay?), the animals were totally used to it and out and about in their confinements. Our favorite animals we spotted were the giraffes, kangaroos, and lions. It was also really neat to see how the peacocks were just everywhere! They were wandering all over the place - but steering clear of the tiger cage of course. This is a great place to visit if you have little ones or are an animal lover yourself.

We really enjoy our little zoo here in Springfield. Its 15.00 for adults and teens and $10 for kids. The pathways are in the shade throughout most of the zoo. Everything is easy to get to and maneuver throughout. We went on a busy day and everyone flowed throughout nicely without a major jam in any areas. We loved the giraffe area the most.

This zoo is a really great value for the low cost of $15 and offers a really attractive annual membership option as well. The zoo has a lot of animals considering the cost of admission. They have lions, tigers, bears, cheetahs, elephants, kangaroos, giraffes and many other amazing animals. They have many feeding options available too ranging from goats to giraffes. One criticism that I had was that the zoo has four elephants, but because of the way the facility is structured, you can only view one of them. It would be nice to extend the trail further back and allow more opportunities as many other zoos have done. Hugo was the elephant outside and he is the one to see right now, if you can only see one. Love him! Still, it would be nice to see all of them, if the zoo is interested in making any improvements. One other note is that its Missouri and as a result, the zoo is very hilly with a few very steep paths. Be prepared for lots of walking up and down Ozark hills.Overall, despite the very hot day, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the zoo a lot more than we were expecting to. Peacocks roam the zoos beautifully landscaped entrance freely, adding a very unique feature to the zoo. We hope to be back and will happily encourage anyone thinking about visiting to do so.We were not disappointed and I dont see how any reasonable person could be. Its a five star zoo.

Such a delightful place to visit, as always! Super caring, helpful, and friendly staff! Lots to see and fill your day. Good food in the cafe. Fun places to feed the giraffes as well as fish, goats, alpacas, and a donkey! You can easily purchase tokens to buy the animal food or pay with cash if there is an attendant for the giraffes, and Ive never been there when there isnt an attendant. Theres a splash area for kids to cool off, too! A fun time had by all!

We can tell this park is becoming a bit dated, but not enough to spoil our visit. First, there is ample parking, and even when its busy, like today, the fairground parking is right next door. And both the parking for the zoo and on the fairgrounds is free, as long as there isnt a fair event. The admission price was reasonable, and we got a military discount I wasnt expecting, too. The restrooms are refreshingly clean, and the paths are meandering and easy to navigate, with well-marked signs and moderate landscape. And SHADE. The paths are 90% shaded and there are ample benches, especially on the mild hills. The habitat enclosures are well kept and the animals look cared for. There are signs reminding guests that the wading pools arent the only source of water for the animals (I didnt know people are concerned about this). The food at the snack bar is pricey, but no more so than for any other captive audience. Our only complaint is the train. Its two dollars per person to ride a train that circumnavigated a small green pond two times (about 5 minutes total). The only wildlife we saw was a log full of turtles; other than that, the attraction is little more than debris filled drainage ditches and, well, that green pond. Honestly, on another day I might have demanded my $8 back. Regardless, this is a nice little zoo with healthy animals and beautiful landscaping. While it could use some freshening up, it was fun and, save for the train, it was well worth the money spent. We will buy the membership next time.

For the size of Springfield, this Zoo is wonderful. Feeding the Giraffes was a mind blowing experience for my little girl, and seeing monkeys for the first time almost brought her to tears. Many of the enclosures are rather nice, with many of them having more than enough space for the animals there. The otter enclosure was another favorite, and they seemed to love the attention. We are thinking about getting memberships so our daughter can grow up with the magic that is the zoo. Ive been to better, sure, but Ive absolutely been to worse. We will absolutely be back.

This zoo is a smaller zoo, but still has plenty of exhibits and sights to see. Feeding the giraffes is always a fun thing, as well as the petting zoo with the goats and llama. The paths have plenty of shade, so even on a sunny day you wont get too hot. The reptiles house was closed due to covid, but most of the other areas were open. The pathways are designed for wheelchairs and strollers to have easy access to all exhibits.

Some enclosures are a little small which is sad, especially the one for the Bald Eagle.Good variety of animals, prices are reasonable and theres some social distancing in place.Pretty adequate parking and good chances to interact with/feed some animals including giraffes which was cool!Editing to add: The bald eagle is actually a rescue, so the enclosure is actually adequate. I missed the sign that says this!

One of the few zoos Ive been to thats actually enjoyable to visit. There is a giraffe feeding deck that even takes credit/debit to purchase snacks to handfeed the giraffes with. Aside from that its just a lovely walk with a petting area of goats/alpacas, some fish to feed, an of course the peacocks. There are TONS of loose peacocks here that act like they own the place and are very used to humans.

I love this zoo and enjoy visiting where we can... Being local, weve become members of the Friends of the Zoo program which pretty much pays for itself in two visits for a family of four. We love the discount on meals with that and also got the souvenir cups so we can take them back when we visit. Being longer term members, Ive seen the staff have awesome moments caring for the animals here/there, they give them so much enrichment and you can tell they care. Youll watch and see them grinning and stopping to admire their activity, etc here or there and its awesome. Their programs for the animals, rehabilitation centered, etc are amazing. They also have amazing education and community outreach programs they do for kids and Id recommend taking in any of those... The petting zoo area is well maintained, as is the giraffe feeding deck, and indoor areas. The cafe is awesome, you get to eat with peacocks walking around, and the kids can play in the park area thats super nifty too. Just watch out the first time you go to the park area with your kids and make sure they know the green fish is a ladder, not a slide, because it can be confused for as much...and keep in mind that sometimes slides can get hot when the sun is catching the equipment just right. We usually try to go earlier in the morning to avoid that. :) More peaceful, then, too! Less people go first thing, so, you get to take it in with a different dynamic... I rarely see anyone else at that time and the animals are active, yet, calm which is awesome to see and experience. Private petting area fun is great, also, ♡ and more photo ops without the crowd.

Went for the food truck event... Which had a grand total of one food truck. Excluding the one snow globe place as well but at least the truck that was there was amazing and the entry fee to the zoo was only $5 so not much to complain about really just a bit misleadingedit: Seeing the response below, this was my misunderstanding. I got all my info 2nd hand about this event, but still had a great time and the food truck that was there WAS great. Just a tad sad the tiger area was closed. The staff was also (likely volunteers?) very awesome. The only negative I can truly say is the raffle I entered required us to be present at 8:45 (we arrived when it started, at 6) in order to collect your prize if you won. We ran out of things to do by 7:45, and didnt feel like hanging around for an hour to likely lose a raffle, so just counted it as a donation - which was fine by me :)
