Low key park. Woods, play equipment. My only complaint is all of the trash left in the wooded area. My boy and I are going to bring trash bags and try to clean it up on our next visit.

Great place to stop, catch your breath and hydrate before jumping on/back on the trail.

Awesome little park, I used to play as a kid and it’s especially nice now as it’s the trail head for the South Creek Trail. The trail is 5.6 miles, and then it ends near a neighborhood and then you repeat it.

McDaniel Park is nice in that it is the starting area of one of the Greenway Trails. However, it is right next to a busy road and there is not a fence between the playground and the street. The grass was very high when we visited and kept my kids from playing in it too long. I also wish there were benches in the shade. Theyre kind of awkwardly placed.

Beautiful park with great access to the cycling and pedestrian trail.

Wi
Review №14

Small, but I use it to park my car and run the trail. Great spot for that.

Pa

Pros: there are bucket swings and regular swings as well as a decent playground set that is probably beat fitted to the 2-6 year old range (my four year old couldn’t quite do the monkey bars). In the mid morning we were in the shade on the playground but not on the swings. Lots of green space if you want to play frisbee or let a dog roam. Start of a trailhead that leads to the botanical gardens (paved)Cons: only one playground, which is relatively small; no fence from the busy street next to it, and minimal benches. Also no bathroom.

This is a long stretch of grass approximately a football field long, a swing set on one side and a small pavilion on the other. The main reason I stopped here is because I saw people dressed as knights play fighting. I learned that this is called L.A.R.P. ing . Live action role playing. If no event was going on, I would say it is a nice place to bring kids to swing, or maybe a stroll through the grass, and lat but not least maybe a picnic if you bring your own chairs or blanket because there is no seating.

My husband and I normally drive by here when, we are in Springfield. We decided to stop and play catch with our baseball. It was nice and peaceful with lots of open, grassy land to just have fun. They have a nice little playground here too for little ones. Its nothing special but, I know little ones would enjoy it. I look forward to my next visit.

There is some playground equipment on either end of the east side, but its nothing to write home about. The west side has a large open field, but thats about it. Has a few veins of trees running through it to break it up, but theres signs of homeless people in those trees so theres that.

Came to this park for the nostalgia and left when I found a syringe. Also, besides someone mowing the huge field this park sits on, I dont think anyone maintains it.
