We have gone now twice with the kids and they love it! And everyone is so friendly. I needed a wheelchair and one of the workers opened for me and helped me get into it! Talk about going above and beyond
Love this place. Animals are well cared for. Personnel well infomed
Very informative. The animals are beautiful and well taken care of.
Visited and it was the best experience ever to see those beautiful big cats close. To see the love and care they have for the animals. Amazing experience cant wait to go back. Animals are fed and well taken care of. The couple that does the tour very sweet and sociable. I highly recommend this place. Keep up the great job. Thanks for sharing your precious babies with us.
Animals are the top priority of an volunteer staff! As a previous Vice President of this business please take the time to schedule your tour in advance. You will have a great experience and learn at the same time.
It was such a hot day today. I am from NY and my friends suggested going to Rainbow Springs. I was nervous because of gator warnings, but it was clean, beautiful and refreshing. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom which is 10 feet below. The water is always a steady 72° because it is spring fed. Very nice on a hot day. We swam with noodles because you cant touch bottom and will get tired eventually. I LOVED it there. Its so beautiful and there is a gift shop, an area to change, restrooms and trails to walk on all for $2 per person. Have fun!!
I was a little hesitant to go out first. My husband took me as a surprise for Valentines weekend. I dont normally like to see animals in captivity. But after going on the tour of 90 minutes I was able to understand all that the sanctuary does for these animals. Most of these animals come from other people who have kept them as pets or who have not kept good care of them, so this is a safe place for them. I was so honored to get to see so many animals being cared for with respect, and get to meet the people who volunteer their time to give comfort to these animals. The best part is that all the proceeds go directly to the animals care and welfare. Its not like other places where a percentage will go to the employees. At this sanctuary the proceeds go straight back to the animals. If youre an animal lover like me I would recommend going!
Very educational rescue sanctuary. If you love looking at wild animals, head here.
This sanctuary is a nice loving home to these creatures in need. Staff was knowledgeable about the animals history but didn’t talk as much about the specie itself unless you asked. This sanctuary is basically in the middle of nowhere so if you plan on doing something afterwords I definitely don’t think it’s going to be in this area. There aren’t many stores or quaint little shops… So your best bet is driving to Tampa or Saint Pete. Also when you drive-in you’ll see a gate on the right with a sign that’s their’s but you’ll want to enter through the second gate on the right. The tour will take two hours and takes you through A lemur exhibit, panther, Monkey, lion, pig, turtle and ostrich exhibit. They also give you a nice little free gift at the end of the tour which is a Your choice of a picture of one of the animals laminated. I just wish that the staff was a bit more presentable when working… (There wasn’t a streamlined uniform )As well as sometimes our tour guide would just say two or three small things about the animal and just wait. They do take photos with your camera if you want a close up photo of the animal
Beautiful animals, great people, wonderful purpose. I will highly recommend for all people who love animals.
Really cool place to learn about some wildlife especially a couple big cats. Definitely enjoyed our visit
Great place, with some beautiful animals. They certainly care about the animals, and were also very knowledgeable. Staff made sure the animals werent far away and interacted with them which made it enjoyable. We would recommend.
I enjoy my visit the volunteer has good information about the animals
Really cool experience. Better than the zoo in my opinion.
Nothing fancy here. This facility is just about the health and well-being of the animals. Its impressive that every penny donated goes to animal care. The animals are clean, well fed, and treated respectfully. By that I mean that they are are allowed to be who they are. The tour lasts up to 2 hours and questions are encouraged. Enjoy!
I wasnt there. Sorry
Enjoyed the experience. Well worth the price. Good opportunity for children to learn about wildlife too.
Had a really good time here. The animals are beautiful and are well-bred for. The tour guide lives here and is really laid back and happy to take up close pics for you. Great for the kids as well.
Loved it! Very informative
Just an awesome place for kids...
We went today with a group of 20. It was very interesting and informative. The animals here are very well taken care of. My recommendations would be to wear closed toed shoes since you will be walking thru grass and sand. If its warmer day take a water to drink. They have a small gift shop you can buy one in but we didnt know that until after the hour and a half tour. There are benches thruout the area for people with problems standing for long periods of time. Our group really enjoyed the tour. I highly recommend.
The variety of big cats areexcellently cared for in large habitats in pairs. The walking tour is leisurely with time to take pictures or sit on a bench. There are lemur, tortoises, tigers, panthers and more. The tour guide is interesting & will take close up pictures on your camera. A great experience!
Awesome place!! Melted my heart!!
Animals are Rescues and treated very well. Guides are extremely knowledgeable.
Had an excellent time. It was hot but there was plenty of shade and they staff kept things interesting so you werent thinking about the heat. It was evident the staff truly cared and respected the animals that they look after. Highly recommend.
Excellent place to take your kids and get a close up of some wild animals.
Very friendly and informative staff. Close up experience with big cats, lemurs, emus. Was good for our 19 month old - not too much walking, but the animals have their space. Clean and well maintained.
Excellent education animal tour for all ages. Not much walking.
I visited for my dads birthday and it was awesome! So educational and its for a really good cause. The cats will come up to you and let you pet them! And the big cats in their roomy cages are great at posing for photos. Please come here and/or consider donating! (Youll get a beautifully captured laminated photo of one of the animals for it!)
Everyone there was friendly and very knowledgeable. You could tell they cared about the animals. They are all volunteers and depend on donations, they are also rarely open to the public. It is not a huge operation, but it is nicely run. I will definitely return. Btw...they can always use gloves, paper towels, ziplock bags and all meat baby food...just sayin ;)
I live down the street and Ive been coming for years and my kids just love it! At night we can hear the big cats roaring its amazing, feels like we live in Africa lol
What a fantastic experience!! The guides were so kind & loving to the animals who were truly treated like family. They were also knowledgeable & professional. This sanctuary is a hidden gem right in our backyard. You really should go; youll have a great time in the outdoors & an unforgettable, close-up experience you wont forget.
An awesome experience, upclose and personal with the animals. Every knowledgeable and wonderful with kids. The girls that do the tour are the best!! Definitely coming back again.
A day to remember! An enlightening tour of the rescued animals they care for, tucked away right under our noses, its there people, go check it out!!!!
Staff very knowledgeable & friendly. Animals were beautiful. We got to see them so close! It was fantastic!
Really had a good time here. The staff is very knowledgeable about the animals. They make sure you have a good experience. They will take your phone to snap up close pictures of the big cats for you. You can tell they truly care about the animals. They are volunteers so make sure to tip them. They deserve it! I definitely plan on going back. Beautiful day spent with my family here!
Enjoyed the tour so very much. The volunteers were very knowledgeable of the animals and very kind to answer any questions and even take your phone to get close up pictures. The animals looked healthy and well fed. Enclosures were large to give plenty of room to play around. Love all animals but the big cats were so beautiful to see. Strongly suggest going to visit.
Love it....
My son and I visited the sanctuary today. It was an amazing experience. From the moment we got to the property, we were greeted by our tour guides. Jen and Bridgett are very friendly, knowledgeable and love the animals. We will definitely return with friends.
Nice place animals well cared for.
They are doing a great service here. Staff seems happy, animals seemed to interact with them.
Awesome, beautiful animals! Very educational! Thank you for all that you do!!!
Good place they take care of their animals
Great place and knowledgeable staff. Animals are very well taken care of.
Awesome sanctuary please help by donating
Fun. Exciting. Amazing
Awesome place to learn about big cats very knowledgeable about them and informational great place to bring kids to learn about conservation and how to help
It was alright the area we initially went to did not have the cool caves that you see in the pictures. If you drive to the address thats on google it takes you to the main buildings and not any of the paths. Some the the natural like paths seem like people dont go on them frequently because there are spiderwebs covering the walk ways.
The reason I putted 3stars because of their office and bathroom was not very good taking care of!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise this place was ok, not a lot of animals....the tour was good, the girl who did the tour was very knowledgeable.
This out of the way place is an excellent experience for families.
Loved seeing how they cared for the animals. Very informative
Purchased a Groupon and says to call 48 hours in advance to set up a tour. We called and they only were able to give 3 available dates which were Aug. 2nd, Aug 3rd and Aug.6th. Have family visiting from Connecticut that leave on Aug. 6th and we are in Orlando for the two other dates. Unfortunately they are not very accommodating and now we lose out on the 12 tickets that were purchased from Groupon. If they can’t accommodate within 48 hours then they should change their website saying you need to call several weeks in advance because it takes a week to get in for a tour. We were really looking forward to the experience and upset that we weren’t able to enjoy the sanctuary and see all the animals.
Beautiful animals. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. These people really care for the animals and they are in good hands. I definitely recommend this place.
Animals seemed well taken care of and our hosts were very knowledgeable. You could tell they were genuinely concerned for the animals and treated them like family members. While the place could be cleaned up a little it does make it less commercialized and more about the animals which is a good thing. Definitely worth the trip!
Really enjoyable up close chance to see and learn about some beautiful animals.
Very great place. Low key with animals that are well taken care of with staff that really cares about them. Only available by calling ahead and making an appointment. This is not an attraction as you might think of other Florida attractions. The staff walks your group around and gives you a lot of information. You are very close to all the animals for a great experience. Not fancy or commercial. We went today and it was about a two hour experience. Cant recommend it enough.
Didnt get to go but was nice staying down the road hearing lions roar.
Great place to see rescued big cats close up. They were very informative to all the kids on the tour as well.
Absolutly a wonderful experience to see these beautiful cats upclose like that... a must see adventure.

This is such a wonderful place to go and visit! They have leopards, tigers, cougars, lemurs and much more. You call and schedule a time and get a tour of the property from the volunteers and learn all about the animals.
We went on a tour and it was amazing, we learned a lot from the tour guides and we got close up looks at the exotic animals..we watched them as the animals were being fed...A MUST DO TOUR ..ONE YOU DONT WANT TO MISS AND FOR A GOOD CAUSE.
Great place to see some cats up close. Very nice people and the feeding tour is really great
Honestly more homey feeling and closer interactions than the big cat sanctuary in Tampa. I loved it!!
So much fun and quite a knowledgeable staff. Jemma was so awesome to have as a tour guide!
I started to volunteer here and the sanctuary is simply a beautiful place where the animals are treated with care and compassion by a top notch team.
Went here a while ago and they are doing amazing work. Taking in big cats that have been raised in captivity and have no where else to go at times. Went on a feeding tour and it was knowledgeable and enjoyable.
