A beautiful beach with soft-white-sand and clear water. Great for kids and family. Shallow waters where dolphins jump pretty close to the beach. Big crabs and lots of fishes can be spotted. Very little waves in the beach.Perfect sunset point too.Entry fee is $5 (however it was not there on Sunday evening when we visited - October 2020)There is a kids play area inside the park. There are a couple of changing rooms and restrooms in the beach. A cafe is there with outdoor seating too. Everything is clean.Few palm trees on the beach and there is a pier to watch the sunset as well.
Beautiful natural beach on the coast of Florida! parking for however long you choose to stay is only $5 and you can easily stay at least 2.5hrs being entertained by the local wildlife. blue crab, stone crab, horseshoe crabs, puffer fish, and other little swimmers all around. its beautiful.
We visited pine island beach on several occasions on our trip to Florida. We liked it because it was a really nice beach, it was somewhat secluded, and still offered plenty of options for our kids. The pavilions were great to keep our stuff covered and easy to use for grilling lunch/dinner. The beach was perfect white sand, and spacious. The water was great and stayed shallow for a bit which was perfect for the little ones. Awesome please to view the sunset, and get an ice cream from willies!
My family and I just bought a house 15 minutes from here so it will be our local go to for sand, the sound of waves rolling in and a good breeze. This is a man made beach that has multiple palm trees, which make an amazing sound as the wind flows through them. The 2 times we have been have been very peaceful. You can get in the water if you dont mind coming out looking like the swamp thing it is on the nature coast so it is understandable, which 2 of my 3 children didnt mind. They have restrooms, changing rooms and showers. They also have food, I dont know the details on that though. There is a 5:00 fee which is reasonable to me but we will be taking advantage of the yearly pass asap. If you plan on going in the water I suggest water shoes as my son sliced his foot on a rock which happens. There is a small playground for the kiddos, I will say that they could clean the beach more as ridiculous people still litter, and I imagine part of the $5:00 fee is for upkeep. Again we will be going back for daily walks and relaxing.I took away one star for the litter.
It was a nice place to go with my family and watch the sunset. The beach and playground were clean. Id definitely recommend. Theres also a nice shack to get food and public bathrooms.
Nice county park with clean beach. Shallow water and a great playground make this a family favorite. Plenty of shelters and quite a few palms for shade. Pretty small so it can fill up early. At high tide the water can come all the way up to the breakwater- so chose your camp wisely. Small snack shop is the only food option on the island.
Beautiful spot to enjoy with family. Visited on Saturday, bit crowded but we got spot to sit & relax. Water is shallow, can watch small fishes, crabs. People were swimming, fishing, catching crabs, snorkeling, kayaking/canoeing, bird watching. Kids playground is very good. There is volleyball court. Main attraction was Dolphins, they are so near to the beach, it was an mesmerizing sight. There is an cafe near to parking lot. Need to pay at the entrance, to access beach and parking. I guess no pets allowed. I didnt see one.
By far, this is the quietest beach weve been to in a long time. Small but very beautiful for relaxing. Palm trees scattered around helps provide small bits of shade. We went during the week but I would imagine it is packed on weekends. Nothing much to do other than play in the water or chill in a beach chair. We did see about 3-4 dolphins jumping/playing in the water maybe 20 feet from shore. Nice little restaurant (Willys) on site but we didnt eat there. Pack a lunch and go spend some time on the slow side of life. We cant wait to go back!
I have been to a few beautiful beaches in the state, but this one is by far the nicest beach Ive been to.Kids loved it.The water is crystal clear.Nice park.clean bathrooms.NOTE..if your a surfer, it will probably not be your spot, the waves are super small, and theres hardly and big waves.if your a parent like I am, you really dont have to worry about the tide and the waves. The water is very safe for the kids.If you visit Florida. You gotta stop by here.
This was a really nice beach with white sand. The water is shallow and doesnt have any waves because its protected by land around the beach. The water was nice and warm as well. There is a $5.00 fee to park for the day now and the parking lot was really full. Even though the parking lot was full, the beach didnt seem crowded because it is a beach that juts out. There is a concession stand that sells drinks and food but, right now they are cashless.
Its got great water views and easy access and they have a nice little beach also
This is a very nice little beach park. I randomly will just drive here in the mornings (a little more than 50 miles from my town) lol... In the mornings there arent many people at all and its just so peaceful and beautiful.
Very cool atmosphere. Nice little beach. Great view on both sides. Snack shop, public restrooms, and parking.
Beauty of this place is you may get a chance to watch dolphins. I enjoyed watching them . Great place for kayak/canoe. Parking/entry is $5. Volleyball court is there.
Small, quiet and rarely crowded. Theres a small food stand, a nice size playground for the kids and covered picnic areas with charcoal grills on a first come first serve basis. Water is very shallow. 5 bucks to enter
Quiet beach. Family oriented. Warm water and sometimes the dolphins stop in. Parking was great and inexpensive.
Nice park for small children to play at. Not much for anyone else but small children. No swimming at low tide because the water is so shallow.
I took my best friend to Pine Island Park last week. It was the first time that either one of us were there to hang out in the sun and enjoy the scenery. We both enjoyed it very much. The bathrooms were clean and so was the beach itself. It is small, but I liked that. It had a small tiki hut that served cold drinks and snack food. They also made hamburgers and hot dogs . And, even though we wouldnt swim in the water, mast everyone else did. We didnt get in the water because it looked like a place where people launched their boats in and out of the Gulf of Mexico. We thought that the water would be clear and clean, like Clearwater Beach is but it wasnt even close to that. So, we passed on the swimming aspect of the park and we just sat around people watching and taking pictures . We ABSOLUTELY LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the palm trees that were on the beach . There should be more beaches like this one in the state of Florida!!!If you are in the area and want to sit and relax with your best friend or your husband or wife, or any of your favorite people, go here. You will love it !!
Absolutely perfect place to visit. Great for all ages, playground for the kids, and the water doesnt get deep fast so kids can splash and play. Theres a place to get food and drinks. White sand and clear water, would visit over and over.
Beautiful day. No crowds. Clean beach and facilities.
This is an amazing beach and public park. It has nice clean restrooms and changing stalls outside the restrooms. It has a snack bar. And the water is crystal clear. Me and some friends came here to snorkel and were not disappointed in the least. Parking is 5 dollars, cash. Low tide made the majority of the water waist deep at its deepest, but it soon approached around a 10-foot depth when high tide came in. Plenty of wildlife is around as the area is surrounded by estuary and the water is more brackish than salt. Honestly, just an absolute hidden gem.
Beautiful small beach that is very clean and has a great restaurant there. Changing area, bathrooms, shower, pavilions and huge play area for the kids along with a beautiful soft sand shoreline. This area is great for swimming or kayaking! Will be back with the Kayak soon!
5 dollars to get in the park. Has clean restrooms, restaurant, playground, bbq area, and soft sand. Also a great spot to view dolphins.
Large beach area, spreads left and right of an observation deck. Bathrooms clean. Food vendors on site. $5.00 parking fee per vehicle, worth it if you ask me. Decent size playground. Actually got to watch a couple of dolphins swimming around just outside swimming area. Grills available, along with tables under pavilions.
Lovely smaller local beach on the gulf coast. Pavilion and picnic areas, Sandy Beach for sunning and soft sand out into the waters. Dolphins swimming by actually came up close to waiders and were friendly. $5 entry fee per car but worth it.
Stopped at Willies for a quick lunch with a great view. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was the BEST Grilled Chicken Sandwich Ive ever tasted; and Im pretty picky! I was amazed at how large the menu is. You cant go wrong, Ive heard from the locals!! I highly recommend Pine Island Beach Park, whether its for a quick bite to eat at Willies or to enjoy the scenery of the water and mangroves!
I was pleasantly suprised for such a smaller quaint place it was nice had a place were you can get food and has a playground for the kids and the upper sand is really nice, parking is $5
Quaint little getaway. Bathroom and changing facilities. Snack and lunch bar available with a nice picnic area. Not so great for swimming, but fun looking around.
Full of smokers. Covid-19 hasnt quite hit here hard enough.Calm waters. Slightly decent views and wildlife. Recommend coming on a week day when it might not be overrun.
It was beautiful. Very clean, awesome view, and very relaxing.
Bathrooms were gross. Trash all over the park. The tiki bar/restaurant stunk. The beach was nice had a great show from some dolphins and other wildlife. Lots of horseshoe crabs buried in the sand. The view and water were great. Playground was okay I guess, our kids seemed to enjoy it.
Pine Island is one of those little secrets the locals enjoy. Its located behind a large wooded area and the water is perfect for little kids. Depending on the tide you could walk a long way and water will not be higher than your waist or even your knees at times. $5 to park all day, showers, restrooms and concessions, it even has a pirate ship playground.
We love this place! Its perfect for taking kids too, the water is shallow and they have a playground. There are plenty of palm trees to sit under if you prefer shade to the sun. There is a consession stand that serves burgers and snacks and there are restrooms and showers.
Less than 10 miles from home and a great getaway for view of a beautiful sunset or spending the day at the beach.
Its lovebug season but that doesnt last long, we just picked a bad day to go to this park, but it seems like there is a little local eatery, a nice private beach and a playground. The eatery was closed but very secluded location. Not a bad place.
Nice place to take kids or watch the sunset. Unobstructed views to the west for perfect sunset pics. They also have food, drinks and ice cream available too. Only $5 per car load is a good deal.
Beautiful beach with great sunset views. There are tables with grills to enjoy making food and a playground for kids to play on.
Very clean, Hernando County has put a lot of work into this place recently and it shows. Was a great night out there tonight.
Been here a few times on our florida trips.cute little place. $5 to park, they have some playgrounds, grill stations to cook your own food. They do have a little building to get some food/drinks but have not been there. Kids love it!! Today we saw a dolphin, 15ft off shore and the guy next to the fishing area caught a stingray!!
Nice park, only $5.00 parking fee. The little tiki hut has pretty good food too. Nice little beach area with shower stations and bathrooms
Beautiful beach park. Well maintained. Lots for kids to do, excellent playground. Plenty of places to sun on the beach. Shady places to sit for picnics.snack stand to get refreshments. Great place to come and watch the sun go down.
Great place to relax and enjoy sunsets and dolphins swimming by. Great place to eat(out door dining only) at Willies Tropical Cafe.
Excellent for kids and adults alike. Same white sand to expect, playground and clean! Love the views
A great little place to spend a day at the beach. I recommend weekdays. Disabled park free.
I always have liked Pine Island. It is a great place to take your family. Or to just hang out with your friends. The water is always a great temperature and the sand feels wonderful on your feet. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for your time.D&L
Spent the evening with friends enjoying burgers and ice cream at Willies Tropical Grill and then watching the sunset. Pine Island is definitely one of the best spots in the County for that.
Pine island is nice beach for a local beach. Its always clean, have nice sand, playground etc for children
Love to take family and Friends. Great place to relax and barbecue and soak up the sun and get your feet wet love this place
Love this beach, just wish they didnt charge $5 to park and wish they would allow well, mannered dogs on leashes!!
Overall this little get away is nice. The seaweed is a little much but the $5 dollar parking isnt bad and there is plenty to keep the kids busy. Shelters to do birthday parties under or just a cook out. They also have a little building that serves food although I havent checked it out.Water stays about 2-4 feet deep going out about 15-18 feet.
Nice clean place. Really close to where I live in Okahumpka and only 5 dollars to park. Really shallow. No waves. Saw crabs and small rays. Lots of birds and kids. Very kid friendly beach. Nice bathrooms, change rooms and out door shower. Not bad for a beach in Hernando County. Quick drive from Yalaha.
Very cute. Nice for little ones or adults. Water wad pretty. Very low tide. Pretty little neighborhood beach.
Nice little beach park! $5 per car to park. The shallow warm water goes out a long ways. The sand is super soft. There is food available there which was cash only & really tasty! The highlight of our visit was seeing dolphins:)
The park has a nice size beach for not being in one of the highly known areas. Parking is good sized and the beach is well maintained and clean. There is a playground for younger kids nice size and in great shape. Good beach bathroom facilities also well maintained. 5 dollar parking fee used for the up keep. The water is clear and for large area 3 to 5 feet deep in the entire swim area with gentle to no waves. The water is dived into 3 parts once you get in. First is the wash area with some sea grass floating around. Second sandy bottom with none to very little floating. Third is sand and grass bottom with little to nothing floating. The grass bottom mixed with sang changes in density. As tide rolls out crabs and hermit crabs are seen or can be found. Some fish swimming around but I have never seen a school of them. As the tide rolls out you can walk well past the swim line this is a shallow water area. We really enjoyed this location in all. Will return again and again.
Good park for wading and picnics. The water is super shallow, about 1-3 feet even 200 yards from shore. Dont expect to go swimming or boating. There are small crabs most of the time (dont worry about getting punched, they scurry away when they notice you). Today a dolphin swam around for ~10 minutes. The barnacles on the side are sharp, but easy to avoid. There are crabs around them if you want to tip them over and look underneath.
Fun spot. Plenty of swim area and great fishing in the flats. No boat ramp but a very easy launch for a kayak. Worth the $5 parking
Cute but small. It was pretty packed leaving very little nice view of the area. Saw a dolphin, that was nice. Looks pretty over run and man made. Benefits for tourism but very unnatural looking so for someone who enjoys the nature of things, it is a bit disappointing.
Its a wonderful Beach for families with kids the water is shallow its also a great spot to watch the sunset
Lots of sea weed close yo shore. But sand powder fine. Dolphins chasing fish. Super cool place
Very nice beach! Its great for little kids as it is sandy and shallow. We saw quite a few fish and some crabs. Bathrooms were clean and there were quite a few areas to rinse off the sand. They are working on adding showers. The water was calm too. Good place to learn to snorkel.
Not a real beach. The surrounding area is full of mangroves, so they put up some sea walls to contain sand and make a man made beach. Much better beaches elsewhere in FL.
Nice out of the way local beach. County run $5 to park. Has changing rooms restrooms snack bar and kids play ground. The sand is nice and the water is shallow. Due to location there are very little waves.
Great Day at the beach! This is a family orientate beach. There are picnic tables, observation deck, public restrooms, foot washes, showers, and concession stand. They have separate areas for swimming and fishing. Great views!!! Saw lots of people taking family photos and dolphins swimming. Only $5 to park. We got there at 5;30pm no charge for parking.
Absolutely fabulous place to spend my birthday! I was also lucky enough to see some dolphins swimming! Can hardly wait to go back!
A great beach a d is not crowded. Thats what is important to me
Nice clean beach area, small but nice and clean
Nice quiet beach, water is real low. Great place to visit
I think this is the smallest beach Ive ever seen in all my travels around the world. $5 entrance fee per vehicle is rather absurd.Sunsets here are beautiful and the shorebirds are plentiful and worthy of your camera.A decent playground for kids and a small pier(dock) is there to stand on for watching subset. Or birdwatching.
Looks nice and water is shallow. But I think it would be nice in the summer.
Pine island is a really cool place to hang out and take in the views. Its a cool drive to get there. Parking is plentiful and there are bathrooms and a small place to get food. There is some sand making it a bit beachy. Really cool spot for a visit.
Its small. Almost unintentionally bumpped into it. The water is see theough green, but clean. There ARE rocks spotted throught the water. Be careful. Not too deep and dolphins near by
Not the gulf coast beach you may be used to but it is a nice little beach. The water was warm and clear when we were there. The kids got to see crabs and play in the shallow water. There is a playground, volleyball court, and a little diner with burgers, fries, and such.Update: we ended up visiting a few more times and each time we got to see stingrays and more crabs. On one visit we were surrounded by dozens of stingrays, it was amazing. We will definitely visit again.
The only thing i would change is better and more parking
This beach is great for some last minute family fun... It has plenty of space for everyones needs whether you want to sit on the beach or under the pavilions (My family and I DID NOT go over to the pavilions so I am unable to tell you if any restrictions apply for use of those pavilions). But still PLENTY of beach access to sit on!There is also a large playground area for kids and a food truck style restaurant near the beach with public restrooms and showers/sprayers.There maybe more accommodations at this beach that I do not know about but I will be returning so I will re-post if any new attractions happen to be there upon my return visits.
Love going to the beach in the evening and watch the sunset. Its a beautiful spot for that. Im from the S. East coastline and this particular part of the gulf is not such a good place to swim. The beach has a nice playground for the children and there are pavilliions for sheltering and BBQ grills. Nice park and the fee is only $5.00.
We had a great time. Unlike many others, I love all the birds. Lol. I like seeing the different patterns in their feathers, and watching them fly around the beach. We enjoyed the pavilions and the beautiful water. We will definitely be back soon.
Not a place to go to to do any walking on the beach. Great place to take small children to play in the water and play in some sand. The tide had just reached low tide and I walked out to the no swimming beyond this point sign with water below my knees. There was no surf or waves and the children were having fun. Ensure you cover any food you take because the birds are waiting to attack the bags as soon as you leave you area. We normally take an umbrella and this time we did not use it because we took advantage of the shade from trees.
Nice, clean park with bathrooms and changing area. The water is very calm, no waves and feels more like swimming in a lake. The kids enjoyed the cool ship theme playground.
Beautiful Beach, small but very family friendly. Saw some dolphins in the distance. Very enjoyable
We saw dolphins so close to shore you could hear them breathing. They were trying to catch a fish it was incredible . This is the perfect sunset spot after a long day.
A very good place to go chill...just in love with this place. We can Swim, fish, kayak and grill here!
We had a blast!everything’s so beautiful.the water, playground, everything so clean and the place is so relaxing. My family and I,love this little paradise.were so happy we able to spent time in this little paradise,we definitely gonna come back here.can’t wait already.
Very nice place, clean and organized. I loved and will be back again and again.
Great clean beach we were lucky enough to see dolphins playing in the water at a close distance!
Closest beach area for Springhill and Hudson. Small and some areas are rocky. Limited number of paid parking. When full.... is closed temporarily til spaces open up.Willy food shack is open for quick food.
Had dolphins within 10 feet of us several times in one day and the food at the shack was excellent. As good if not better than the food in town. The BLT and coconut shrimp were the bomb!
Love this place! Never big waves. Always peaceful. Knee deep water a long way out.
Its a nice small beach to visit. Water looks clean enough, sand is white, and there are parts that arent deep where the kids can play safely. The playground is ok. This time there was live music and I enjoyed listening while soaking up the sun. I havent tried the food yet but maybe next time. Parking could be hard to find during peak hours and to stay you have to use a machine that accepts only debit/credit $5. The sun has beaten the screen a bit so its hard to see whats happening. Overall, nice especially during the last few hours before closing or early in the day during the week.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Its a small beach, but theres something for everyone. Playground, observation deck (we did see dolphins) and a perfect spot to catch a sunset. Loved it.
They say birds of a feather, flock together and the old saying seems to be true! Wow! Great beach! Wonderful food and friendly service!!!
Pine Island is a nice little gulf coast park that is off the beaten path. The drive up to it is bordered by sawgrass and water canals. The beach is rather narrow but the water is not deep which is nice for families with small children. Showers to rinse off are available and also a food stand that a large selection on the menu including enough for a vegetarian. This is a very quiet place to relax and catch some rays.
Amazing place to watch the sun set over the Gulf! Loved this place!
Very pretty beach but the water is way too shallow. Cannot swim in it. It’s good for children but not adults. A lot of crabs and jelly fish in water too.
Good place but becomes super packed and also during low tide their is no water to get into
Oh my God I absolutely loved this place. I could not wait to get there after I had looked it up on Google to find out where it was and see pictures. Once I saw the pictures I knew we had to go. We went to days on our weeklong trip and Florida and we had such an amazing time period I cannot wait to go back in March
Great little beach. Wonderful sunsets. Concession shop with great food and drinks. Clean bathroom and changers. Sand showers. Plenty of Picnic areas. Parking is a couple of dollars, but worth it.
Very nice beach and playground for kids. Loved the little cafe too. Also had a live web camera. You can share the link with family back home and they can see you playing in the ocean.
Great place to take the family and relax
