Came on a weekday with my 2yo and 8month old. The playground was shaded and clean. Bathrooms were clean and located right next to the playground. They had an outdoor shower. It looks like they are renovating one corner of the park, not sure. We were able to walk around and easily maneuver our jogging stroller. We climbed up the observation tower which had an awesome view. This would be a great park for a picnic lunch, family day out, or a place to bring out of state visitors. I would definitely visit again.
Lots of birds in winter: eagles, storks, herons, even occasionally Roseate Spoonbill. Fishing is popular, along with, in colder days, manatee watchiNice playground on east section of park and bathrooms on both west and east sections. Tall view tower to gaze at the salt marshes and palm forest. Great picnic area..
There are a lot of things you can do there fishing walking observing fun for the whole family
Wonderful little park with playground, fishing areas and a great observation tower. Wish they would repair the boardwalk and swimming area.
A nice place to spend an afternoon. There are fishing spots a swimming hole on the opposite side of the bridge and a beautiful Canal to walk along. Are bathrooms on site no fee parking have an Overlook tower that we definitely recommend taking a look at. ( the sadly the tower has been tagged with plenty of graffiti over the years. If you can ignore it the view is absolutely gorgeous.)
Clean park and sometimes you can see manatees. It has a tower and its sturdy. Wheelchair accessible peir to fish which also has shade so you dont overheat. Also has Kayak ramp which can take you to weeki wachee river
Serene and Beautiful. Really enjoyed seeing several manatees in their natural habitat.
Beautiful spot to see manatee when they are around for sure. Its a nice spot to stop and look. They want you to pay $5.00 for parking, I dont see me staying enough for my $5.00 worth. Has a man made beach and bathrooms, playground for the kids. Places for fishing and kayaking rentals. Nice spot to stop and take a look.
Great quick stop to eat picnic lunch, walk the trails and climb the observation tower. Fishing across the road at Jenkins Creek. Pretty local spot.
One of my daughters favorite playgrounds, plenty of shade and always love seeing the manatees.
Its a very nice place to hike around. The park itself is mostly beautifull. A great place to put a kayak in, or rent one. I think the beach should be just beach no tables. The tower is great to climb for exercise and the view is Gorgeous ️
Great place to walk they need to clean it up better and start patrolling it better this was once a Great park now you watch for dog poop on your walk.
Very relaxing. Went there to read a book & will definitely go back again soon
Went there for the seafood festival but also liked the park and its surroundings. There is room to kayak and fish. There are plenty of trees and shaded canopies to sit and water taps to wash hands and clean food if needed. Not too far from the beach either. Although i wish there was more grass and green space to walk around or lay with your pets.
Linda Pedersens Park is nice despite the recent swamp fest but the observation tower is full of graffiti which we do not remember but despite that its a beautiful park
Love this place to take the little ones fishing. Great place to launch a kayak!
Love this awesome spot. If you want to swim, it has a nice little swimming area with sandy beach. If you fish or enjoy watching the wildlife, they have several spits to fish from or also a viewing tower to see out over the marsh. Great place to spot unusual creatures day or night. A favorite of mine. Just seen some white and black storks today which was too cool!!
First time visit, family of 6 on February 1, 2020. We parked by the observation tower where there is no fee to park then walked across the metal bridge. The color scheme of the park is a bit unappealing. There is a rest room in the far back of the park.Overall not a bad park. Just $5 fee if you park in the parking lot is a little silly to me.
Phenomenal view for the sun set from the tower and a great fishing spot aswell
Awsome and beautiful did not catch a fish tho
Wonderful place for an anyday break, picnics or family time theres a ramp from parking place to a mini beach like table gatherings. Theres a playground for kids toddlers as well as children. Theres a mini lake that says you can swim but I wouldnt recommend it it also says theres gators and snakes! But good place to chill. The sight tower is wonderfull with the view.
Great place to get out of the house, and do a little bit of fishing.
Absolutely stunning views all around, had a park, tower lookout, plenty of covered picnic areas. I love this p!ace for sunrise and and sunset.
Really nice park, very peaceful and layed back. Love the small stream going through the park, lots of fish with an occasional manatee feeding. Great for family fun, picnic and sand area for swings. Bathrooms also there. We did a Seafood Festival and tons of people came and enjoyed time there. Great place to visit.Look for more great events here...
Lots of fun. Spent mothers day with my close family BBQing, fishing and hiking. Would be 5 stars but ladies bathroom full of spider, otherwise very clean.
Great place to go and have a picnic or Birthday party. Or just simply go and enjoy the view
I have lived here my whole life. And this park is my most favorite in Hernando County. This is a good quiet spot for a lunch. There are a few pavilions spread throughout the whole park .. A small park, with the followingBird watchingLittle bit of WildlifeBathroomsWater fountain..Outdoor showerFishingKayaking areaA Bridge Crossing the water from Linda Peterson Park to the area where the Tower isA little Boardwalk next to spring water coming through the canal and attimes you can see schools of fish and manatees ...... Not advisable for swimming......
During the week in Feb. when I was visiting the area, I had a chance to walk down the road and over to the park. We were looking for the manatees who, when it is chilly out, come to hang out in the waters of the park. Alas, not a one on the day we had walked over. It is one of many places in the area to get a good walk in and to also view pretty scenery.
It crazy how people with This respect things that are not theirs the Coffeen is all over the top of the Eagle Point but still a beautiful site up there
Nice place to relax, throw in the rod. Sometimes you can see manatees swim by.
Had a lot of fun public restrooms to clean have a nice shower good fishing and the kids had fun The park is also very very clean
This place is a great place to go to spend the evening. There is a playground and they just installed a brand new kayak/canoe (see photos) launch. The new launch makes getting a kayak in the water a breeze. My wife and I and our 3 year old had a great time on the water. Today we saw a lot of fish skimming the top of the water and also saw a few manatee swimming by the banks. DO NOT FORGET YOUR BUGSPRAY or some form of repellant or you will be eaten alive.
Cool view of the surrounding water and trees. Very cool structure.
Do not let your dogs drink from the water. The waste water treatment plant dumps there. I lost my best companion due to a nasty fungus he contracted from drinking the water that surrounds the park. I beg of you if you don’t want the same fate for your animals do not let them drink that water.
Beautiful, clean, natural. Has a swimming area with a dock and ladder. Has a really great playground that is shaded. Restrooms are clean and also handicapped accessible as is the swimming and picnic area. A lot of fishing areas, and lots of parking. There is a kayak and canoe launch area. Very quiet in some areas. Theres a pedestrian bridge that connects to the observation tower and is directly across from Jenkins Creek fishing pier.
Beautiful, quiet, and when its cold you can see the manatees. Playground at the back for the kids. Pavilions and some with grills. Can also fish. And there is a tower to walk up and look out. AWESOMELove Love Love this place
Great views of marsh lands and brackish water
Such a great place to hang out. I go there all the time.
It’s an option for overflow parking from the boat ramp and Rogers park. It’s shaded pretty well too and has an overlook tower you can walk up.
We went to the mermaid Festival here. Pretty cool. I’ve been to music festivals here. We’ve had bbqs here. Done plenty of snorkeling here. We’ve had wedding ceremonies here, and funeral type ceremonies here. I’ve walked every square inch of this park. Even before it was a park. Love it always will.
Florida at its best.
Great place, I attended their annual Swamp Festival. Allot of crafts, food, live band. Allot of people having lots of fun.Keep smiling life is Awesome!
I enjoyed the park very much
Used to like it for just an hour or so to LOOK at the water as there is no swimming. Occasionally see a few manatees. Play on the small playground with my son. Now they want to charge five dollars because they put a few knew signs around to watch for alligators. You have to be kidding. What justifies a 5 dollar fee. Empty park when we went. Shocked when I saw the new fee. Used to be free, as it should . Not going back, not worth the cost for an hour of play.
I absolutely love this place! So much to see. Its definitely a unique park. I recommend visiting the tower for sunsets and sunrises, you wont regret it! ♡
This is such a nice park. I like the boardwalks to walk along and look at the birds and wildlife. We watched people fishing and saw manatees in the water.
A great little Park to go to.
Peaceful, great place to take kids to run n play in park, go up tower enjoy view with wife. Rent a gazebo for parties.
Good park. Lots of parking, covered picnic tables, well maintained. Fishing is good, has a kayak ramp, swimming area (havent swam there), beach/playground.
Great place to relax.
Beautiful way to spend any day
Awesome place for friends and family. Has lookout tower.
Great place always is nice be here bring the family and enjoy nature time together
Very DISAPPOINTED in the Swampfest there this weekend. Definitely not worth the 5 dollars a person just to walk in !!! Never again. I would have been better off going to the flea market. Seriously !!!
Looking at the birds and just relaxing. Nice stroll by the water and a tower you can climb.
Cool spot to pound a pizza
The water was crystal clear with fish swimming everywhere. Kids jumping off the bridge swimming with families catching fish on the pier. Beautiful place
I love the peace and tranquility of this park. Often friendly people fishing, they are often willing to chat and willing to answer questions.
This is a lesser known pretty park in the area. It has a large tower to climb and look out over the water. (Unfortunately it has a significant amount of graffiti and trash as of July 21, 2019.) This is also has a wonderful, newer playground, kayak launches, plenty of shore fishing spots and a few hiking trails.Pretty, less populated place to see the sunset.
We were here for a memorial outing. The pavilion has picnic tables and lights. It would be an excellent place for a family picnic. Plenty of room for kids to run and enjoy the outdoors.
I enjoy this park.
Its Nice && Quite Out There Just Wish People Would Pick Up After Themselves && Stop Leaving There Beer Cans && Beer Bottles Everywhere
Local,go here often could use some upgrades...kids enjoy the swings and swimming.a few grills, nice view from the tower caught a monster red here several years back late night 2 Amish on a shrimp.
Its a good place for kids to play and there is restrooms and shower.
Been coming here for years as my thinking place and it never fails me. So peaceful and clean.
We always enjoy this pretty little place. Kids enjoy the playground, tower and a few trails.
The park is a nice place to view Manatees, fish and walk around. I hope people dont ruin it by littering. Its restrooms Arekept very clean.
The childrens park is in the shade. They have a viewing area for seeing manatees. Usually in the morning. Plus a small beach picnic area that swim at. Plenty of restrooms. Handicap accessible for fishing and restrooms. Lots of natural beauty.
Love the view from the top of the observation tower
Love fishing here with my daughter picnix tables available bring the mosquito repellant
Nice quiet Parks easily accessed and they have a tower you can walk up into. From there you can get a birds-eye view of the surrounding areas. Theres a very nice free kayak launch there in the back of the park also. You cannot get into the wiki Wachee River from this body of water but you get into the Jenkins Creek which flows out to Bay Park Where the Weeki Wachee River enters the Gulf at the Bay Park boat launch. Very nice that this park is free except for the swimming and Beach area. At the back of the park a trail leads into the Wilderness of The Preserve area which is okay for biking but much better for hiking.
Absolutely beautiful park. I love the observation tower
Love this place. Go every week.
Love coming down and looking at the wildlife. Very clean park.
Lots to do and see. A must and the to do list if visiting
Beautiful and free.
Park was nice, but someone on 4 lawn equipment decided to rake sand in the middle of the day while lots of people were around
We had my grandsons 3rd birthday party here. My daughter reserved a pavilion for 4 hours for $50. When we arrived at our designated pavilion there were other people using it for another birthday party. There were not any signs up saying it was reserved. My daughter let the other people know we had it reserved. They said they didnt. They continued cooking and using the pavilion from before we got there till after we left. If someone reserves a pavilion and has to pay money then a sign should have been hung up so other people would know not to use that one. The park needs to refund at least half of what my daughter paid since we didnt have access to the whole pavilion. On a side note the park is very beautiful and seems to be kept clean.
Love the view very beautiful and clean
Love walking around canals and doing yoga poses
Great festival....Swamp Fest.
Nice quite place.. Wish the swimming area was kept up better. Nice place for Birthday partys. The park is nice. You can fish there too.
Great sunset, good playground for little ones.
Nice park to go and eat a box lunch or dinner at.
Beautiful park!
I love this park. We had a nice cookout and cooled our feet off in the water. Great fishing here too!! I have been here since 1973 and of course will be back
Great place to see nature, go fishing and view the manatees.
Quite places nices view
2nd annual seafood fest and community fundraiser! A great mix of vendors and food trucks!
Very nice park. Beautiful view from the tower and nice water to hang out by.
Great spot to relax and watch some manatees warm themselves in the sun.
Look for Manatees in the creek in cold weather. Nice park for picnics.
Really beautiful and serene place to relax and spend the afternoon with family and friends. We enjoyed the observation tower and getting glimpses of the wildlife.
