This place is great for biking on a trail! Absolutely beautiful and not too crowded we found a tree for shade over looking the water and ate lunch! Definitely a must see

Absolutely beautiful preserve in the heart of Hernando Beach. This preserve is located on the outskirts of Weeki Wachee Springs and has plenty of free parking. Usually the gate is not open, so there is about a mile walk to really get into the pretty part. There are miles and miles of different ecosystems to get into and gorgeous views. They are open from sunrise to sunset and I am always excited to visit and see all of the wildlife!

Its a relaxing plan around the big Lake, fantastic trial for bike or walk. Parking is for free.

Great place to take the dog for a long walk and enjoy nature. Saw a hawk and bald eagle while there. Would highly recommend going.

Its not bad, good nature! Be prepared for a walk bring water and have fun. If you like to fish bring a bass pole and cast in the pond and lakes along the way. Go now before the heat of the summer. Plenty of enjoyment walking the many trails and setting a course of adventure hiking. People were talkative and advised which way was best to start a trip. I took the pavement to the second left and followed that to the first left to bring me back to the pavement. All and all took my time and turned out a 3 hr adventure with the dog. Will be going back early one day and try to make the whole park outer circle!

Absolutely beautiful, a great place to hike, climb, kayak, etc. We had a nice picnic. The bathroom is not a fun place, and there are no trash cans so pack it in pack it out.

This is a stunning example of Floridas nature and beauty. SWFMD in partnership FWC manages a preserve that is worth anyones time to walk and explore.

Deep blue ponds surrounded by wetlands. Amazing amounts of light reflecting off water and lime-rock. Amazing diversity of animals. High energy place to run. mountain bike and exercise. There is a very cool hill in the middle that provides a view of at least 7 ponds and the gulf of mexico.

I spent a week in the area in Feb. Many days during that week I had the opportunity to walk with my best friend. This place has beautiful views of small blue lakes. Climb one of the hills in the preserve and you will view the Gulf of Mexico. Most people in the preserve respect the beauty and clean up after themselves and their dogs. For those that dont...please do!

Very peaceful place to enjoy nature. Wide open spaces with long views. Not much shade available so I imagine it would be brutal on a hot, sunny day. Very clean. I didnt see much rubbish.

Love these trails. It was a hotter day around 90 however the lake’s brought a cool breeze. Beautiful place to get some exercise. We walked about 4-5 miles. There were some shaded tables along the various trails. We stopped to drink and eat our packed lunch. Bring your backpack with snacks and lunch. There are no trash cans so keep your garbage to toss when you get home.

Great place to walk your dogs, take your kids, and get some exercise walking or biking. The scenery is beautiful on the hiking trail

What an enjoyable day offroad biking here! The lakes are really something of a surprise once you make get past the trails / off to the side of the trails was my approach, some muddy spots but it’s all enjoyable. I’d love to visit here in the summer for a dip!

Awesome quiet paradise water park, 2nd and 4th Sat of each Month you can drive in. Great for yak and paddle. Fishing? Not too many, still have couple 1lbs Bass.

Beautiful little park with lots of walking trails. Most trails are flat. Toilet with no toilet or stuff to wash your hands, so make sure to bring your own.

One of the most beautiful places right here in our own town. Peaceful, clean, quiet and breathtaking views. Great place to go hiking, bike riding or even bring a book to read by the water.

One of my favorite places to hike and hangout.There are so many small and large bodies of water, so much greenery, flowers and nature to see. Looking forward to going back again very soon to picnic and meditate again.

If you like a quiet almost deserted park with lots of scenery this is it. It is a great biking park but it is rare that I see another biker. Most of the roads are hard packed limerock so are rideable by hybrid bikes. If you get off onto the smaller trails you will need a mountain bike. Nothing too challenging unless you take on some of the debris mountains. I have ridden this park on a weekday and not seen another soul in the park. The last photo without the bike is the teenagers favorite cliff jumping spot

A beautiful. Place ...rent a kayak. Its. Like a lazy river..slow and peaceful.

On most days its a long walk to get in because you can only drive in on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. But if you take a bike its easy and the trails are fantastic for biking lots of little Lakes abound in this area we saw a deer and had a great time. If its hot and sunny take water and sunscreen.

The place is amazing, brought the kids and wife fishing for their first time and they loved it. We are going back regularly from now on for family weekends fishing,hiking, and sight seeing.

Too far to walk before you can see or do anything

Very cool preserve. Amazing views and lots of cool bits from when it used to be a quarry. The lakes are a beautiful blue and are up to 60 feet deep since they were quarries. Open to drive through the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.

I there often its close and easy to get to and I dont worry about hunters. I See deer, turkey, gophers, sand hill cranes there chicks and sometime even even eagles can be seen from time to time.

They have it gated off so it is a really long walk back to where you can see anything.

This is a great place to go for a hike hunt with a bow go kayaking or even fishing some people even walk their dogs even though there is no source of drinkable water. It’s a beautiful outdoors location not including the trash people leave. Unfortunately wild fires have occurred a couple times it is best to keep a safe distance from the area when this happens be it so rare .

We love this park

Awesome wildlife preserve with many biking and hiking trails and many spring fed lakes. No swimming allowed in lakes or camping. Lots of wildlife turkeys, deer, eagles, osprey, bobcats, wild hogs and black bear. No motorized recreational vehicles allowed on trails which includes electric. They do open it up once a month to drive your car in and park in designated areas.

This park is so big, beautiful and peaceful. One suggestion... Snap a picture of the trails at the entrance. That way, if you do decide to hike one of the trails, youll know how to get back to your car.

If you like the outdoors and enjoy biking, hiking, walking its great. Theres fishing also..its patrolled by florida wildlife management so have your fishing license and your Dogs are allowed but they must be leashed. There is wildlife that includes birds, deers, florida cats, snakes, gators and i have seen a large wild pig (wild boar). Trails are marked and in good shape. Some trails do have covered sitting areas with a picnic bench. The bathroom is ONE and its a upgraded permanent porta potty..my advice make sure you go to the bathroom before you go out there. Bring a pack with your own water and snacks. Its a preserve so its very untouched..The rules are simple. You bring it in you take it out. no swimming. Enjoy it and love it and never allow it to be a park..KEEP IT A PRESERVE ALWAYS!!

Great trails, very scenic. If you enjoy nature and being outdoors then this is the place for you. We saw some deer and had an overall great time. If you want nice views and enjoy a good walk, then this is the place for you!

Nice place to walk and look for manatees.

I only walked on one trail and the road so I cant vouch for the entire park. I didnt like that the ground was turn up by bikers because Im a hiker and I like natural settings. If you are like me, dont follow the bike trails.

What an Awesome place! Beautiful! If you like to really hike, this is the place. There are grasslands & bluffs. You can kayak and fish. Tips: Get a map at the gate & remember that the big parking lot with the restroom is only accessible by car on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month.

I take my Golden Retriever Rhaegar here frequently. He is in love with it. Plenty of trails and loads of lakes Rhaegar loves to swim in (watch for alligators)
