Nice hike. We had 6 wild Turkeys cross our path.Definitely coming back to hike longer. Playground was great for the kids. Bathrooms were closed.
Looking for a quiet get away, this appears to be it! The drive back to the park explains it all, as it will test your suspension on your car, and you might realign your back, it is a dirt road, so keep the residents in mind and dont go Dukes of Hazard driving there kicking up dust, youll end up paying for a realignment. The park has raised boardwalk trails that make going for a walk a wonderful experience, well worth the visit.
Nice boardwalk. Lots of bugs so bring bug spray and make sure to check for ticks after walking the trails. Part of the trail was blocked with over grown brush so the whole trail isnt available. There is a grand cypress tree off to the right on the boardwalk and is very grand and beautiful! Very private and quiet place to enjoy nature.
Well, they say the journey is more about the road there than the destination...this rings true in this case as well. The last mile into the preserve is just about as rough an unpaved road as you could wish for. It was daunting getting there in our hyundai lol.The preserve actually looks like someones house with a large park style playground. The trail was nice and traversible even with our jogging stroller. We also brought food to eat at the picnic table, but were almost carried away by the enormous ant population.Overall, not a bad park, but it could use some love from our tax dollars. Getting there is the true challenge!
Great park. A little hard to find the trails, but glad we did find them. Its beautiful!
Nice preserve tucked away in a small neighborhood. Good hiking, and a long boardwalk through the wetlands where you can you great photos. The facility that is there is closed, as well as the bathroom. There was a water dispenser available, but I still drank from my own supply. Always good to bring bug spray!
It was beautiful and so peaceful. The family enjoy the trails and views.
Absolutely beautiful! A nice childrens playground, the trails are long enough to hike but not take all day.
Nice small park not many people go theres a boardwalk and a small play ground
If you enjoy nature and tranquility this is your place impressive boardwalk no crowds
I loved this place so nice cant wait to go back
Its been raining a lot so the main trail was flooded and spoiled our longer walk but the boardwalk was very neat. Didnt see many birds today unfortunately.
Nice trails. Really liked this place.
Gorgeous Park. I was concerned driving out due to the area surrounding the park is not very nice, but the park is awesome.
Nice place. Kind of a weird drive to get here, but is worth the trip.
Good trails and even seen wildlife that morning.
Nice boardwalk, lots of ants, after it rains well maintained
Beautiful boardwalk! Got lost a couple of times on the trails but otherwise was a great hike. Missed out on 5 stars due to the horrible road you have to take to get there.
Very quiet and relaxing...
Fun place! Wear boots and bug repellant.
Went on a Sunday afternoon and was the only person there. The grounds aren’t well maintained. The views are nice and the boardwalk is decent.
Nice place for a walk but horrible roads getting to it
Just beautiful. We had it all to ourselves.
Rough road in, but preserve is lovely, peaceful, and secluded once you get there. Boardwalk thru intense swamp, and a trail that is dry, scenic, about 2 miles.
The park is nice, but as others have said, the dirt road is bad and the paved road is horrible! Can be hard to find, the signs only get you so far. If the road and parking were all well paved it would get 5 stars. As of December 2017, there is a fallen tree across the main section of the boardwalk about halfway in. That portion of the boardwalk will need to be repaired. Several overturned trees, probably from Irma.
Trip to park starts with travelling through the Kent Grove area. The roads in this area are in worse than poor condition. There are potholes everwhere making navigation slow and tricky in some areas. Once you reach the Cottee Park area its much nicer. Park has a playground, large open areas and plenty of hiking trails. Those that play online phone games like Ingress or Pokemon will certainly find this to be an entertaining location.
Nice hiking spot very secluded kind of scary we went late around dusk but all in all a great place
Beautiful hiking trail
Bathroom should be left open during the day was not happy I had to hold it
Nice walking trail.
Beautiful place. Had a great time
Its a hidden gem. Boardwalk trail.and a longer dirt trail walking around beautiful cypress, american holly, and oak trees.
Nice parked tucked away from the crowds. Beautiful long boardwalk. Wished the trails were longer.
Very Dirty and Creepy... But well worth the trip.
Local trail that has a nice little boardwalk trail
The bridge is gorgeous but the trails need to be maintained.
Been in Florida since 1984 and have never seen a live old growth Cypress tree until today. If you prefer the trail less travelled, this place is for you.
Directions for this Preserve from Google are INCORRECT. Google maps leads you down a turn and onto private property with plenty of No Tresspassing signs. Jumping Gully Preserves are also in a gated community in which you MUST BE A RESIDENT to partake in its beauties. Save yourself some time and find your cross road of Minneola and Price. Continue on Minneola to the end. This is where you will be able to find sufficient parking and trail entry. Cute little 5mi. hike. All trails lead to one another. There is one forked trail with a GORGEOUS (approx 500 years old) Cypress tree. The playground on the property is ideal for youth and toddlers younger than 5 years of age. Great for a quick hike or run, too short for a day adventure.
This is a County nature preserve protected through the Environmental Lands Acquisition and Management Program (ELAMP), funded by the Penny for Pasco. It is a great place to take a nature walk, have a picnic, or bring kids to a playground. The roads going in have recently been graded so that is a major plus. There is a nature center there that is open for special County events.
Do not, I repeat, do NOT use the directions from the google maps link. You won’t end up at the park. You’ll end up at a random gate on someone’s property. Put the address in your GPS. 17135 Minneola Drive.Cool place to check out, but not much to see. The walking trail is pretty difficult due to tree roots, but the boardwalk is fun. Bathrooms were locked on a Saturday afternoon, just FYI.Cute little playground for kids.
Very nice but rough roads
Rural area plenty of nature and fresh air.
Only rated 4 stars because of the incorrect directions on how to get there. Amanda Leon was correct on the review she gave and thankfully I Google mapped the address she provided or else we may not have made it.The road is a bit on the rough side but nothing that an average car cant handle. The bugs were a bit annoying on the boardwalk but there was nothing biting us. Just annoying little gnats. Also, the bathroom there is locked(always) and no port o potty to use so be expected to go in the woods if you really have to relieve yourself.
Loved the park. Old buildings for great photo backdrops. Road is HORRIBLE! They need to do something about the road to get to this park. I think I blew out 2 shocks & need a front end alignment. Seriously, its ridiculous.
Very beautiful place.. would recommend
Very senic and nice place to see animals
Nice small place in the middle.of nowhere
Sign says No Dogs. Boo!!!
Amazing water great places to fish.
Great meetimg for the neighborhood watch
Nice, quick stretch of the legs
Very cool place, creepy in a cool way. The road there is rough.
Parking is limited (3) spots. Nice trails and a playground. Boardwalk trail is above the swamp so expect flying bugs galore but really beautiful. To get to this location you will need 10 inches or more ground clearance as the roads are really bumpy.
Beautiful day and a wonderful place to have a small picnic and spend time with the family while doing activities such as fishing or maybe bird watching and a few other things.
This park would be a TREASURE if the road to it was in better condition. Wonderful boardwalk, nice signage, cute playground, native plant gardens, and a clean bathroom. Worth the drive if you can manage the giant potholes.
Lovely preserve with trails and long boardwalk, picnic tables, and small playground (but no facilities). The trail is a mile or two, through lovely woods and bush; the boardwalk crosses a cool swamp. Getting there is a small challenge, over somewhat rough roads. The Scotee River originates here.
Little ruff getting there but worth it
Place is run down and unmaintained the bathroom building was closed down and locked up, was hard to find as well as the signage stops half way there
Nice walking area!
Decent quality pizza.
Very peaceful
Great place for exercise
Super long trails but all dead ends
Loved it...also took a nap was so peaceful
Easy nice little hiking area to see birds and stretch the legs
Beautiful and peaceful. Great place to get in touch with nature.
Worth the rough ride back! Little treasure of a park that runs deep into the woods with a lengthy boardwalk over the wetlandsBring bug spray and something to drink!
The road to the park is a disgrace
Nice place to go
Beautiful day to SELL A HOUSE!
Great place to hike and see florida wildlife
Beautiful place
