First off, Rippavilla is BEAUTIFUL! Plus, getting married here makes you feel like you are apart of history, and a venue you can bring your kids too and show them where you got married. Anita coordinated everything, was so attentive and SO helpful! Everyone on the staff was so friendly and so lovely. All of our guest enjoyed a historic tour, exploring the grounds and getting to see Nashville the day before. Rippavilla is THE place to get married. Cannot say more positive things about it! Photos below are from sneak peeks! So many beautiful photos of the venue!

We had a wonderful tour of Rippavilla! Tyler was very knowledgeable, and made sure to stick to the facts of the history instead of rumors and speculation. He was fun and friendly and informative. Our group was small enough that we felt comfortable asking questions. The house and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. It was a great tour, and we will definitely be back!

We moved to the proximity of Rippavilla a few months ago. Our first visit and tour was fantastic! The docent was extremely versed on the history of the plantation, and was able to address questions asked by an antibellum architect in the tour group! Lots of history here, and most preserved as original 1850’s. Will take friends back frequently.

We had an awesome time this afternoon with Ms. Jill! She was very informative and was great with the children. We had a private tour on Tuesday midday. The grounds were beautiful with many things for the children to look at. While we spent a longer than average visit, Ms. Jill was patient with us and answered all the questions the children had. According to them, Ms. Jill was educational, very positive, and informative. Give her a five mom! Would recommend this for anyone who is interested in history!

We were there to tour this as a wedding venue for my daughter. It seems to be a good place for this BUT you have to bring everything that you want to be a part of that process. The venue does not have catering, music, d.j. or a bar and tender. You have to supply all of that if you want to do a wedding there. Its a historical society location and worthwhile to visit it for history sake.

Had lots of fun with the school field trip. This house is very open, most of the rooms are not restricted with handrails or roped off. There is not any information plaques so a guided tour is kinda necessary. But it was good. The guide let my daughter (who knows how to) play the piano in the music room. Very cool.

This was a beautiful location with a historic building. If you are going just to look at an old period building and see some history, this is fine. I paid for a paranormal investigation, and was greatly disappointed. We were divided into smaller groups and went to various locations on the grounds. Our guide did not want us to do anything but sit quietly while she tried to encourage the spirits to talk to a recorder she set out. I was not allowed to use my main piece of equipment and most of the people in my group were new and did not know what to expect. Some told me they were bored to tears and I told them that most ghost hunts were not like this and to find another group to ghost hunt with next time. So we went from building to building and sat very quietly while the guide asked her questions. I couldnt wait to get out of there, but since I paid my money, I stayed to try to get my moneys worth. The only way I would go back is if a different group was heading up the investigation. I have been on many ghost hunts and investigations and this was totally a waste of my time. I was told not to post any pictures or videos so Im not.

Wanted to thank our guide Tyler for his detailed and living account of the history of Rippavilla, and its owner, Nathaniel Frances Cheairs IV. His Civil War story is fascinating, as is the history of the home under different owners.Thought it great that we were able to stand in the rooms containing the furnishings of the Cheairs family and get a real sense of their lives. A lot of these sites require you to stand in the hallway and look through plexiglass in the doorway. At the rear of the property is a slave cabin, family and slave cemeteries. Across the driveway entrance is the field where the Battle of Spring Hill occurred. This plantation is a must see for Civil War and American History enthusiasts.

This was a sensational adventure. The guided tours are by local folks in-trenched in their history. The restoration is being done in a painstakingly careful way. Many artifacts saved by family and friends have been donated to the restoration. The stories are what i truly enjoyed. Even contemporary stories such as a wedding being set up on the grounds, or my daughter in law talk fondly of her class senior pictures being taken there. 3 large tree along the side of this Greek revival mansion are called the Witness trees-meaning they are well over 160 yrs, so have been witness to many chapters of history. They have a lovely bookstore also.
