I love Weeki Wachee the swimming mermaids are so magical and beautiful! The water park side of the park is super fun too! I love the water slides. There is also a fun boat ride and reptile show. I really like it when the mermaids put on preformances for Christmas and other holidays! I have taken many members of my family here and they have loved it too:)

Loves the peacocks framing the park and blessing out ears with their beautiful calls, the water was beautiful and chilly as always, we rented a double tube and a locker, went down the lazy river a few times and enjoyed the beach. Definitely a fun day for the family, annual passes are an amazing bargain! As long as you get thete about opening time youll have a great day, most weekends the parking lot fills up by about 11 or 12

I always love it here. This is one of my favorite things in the area. There are a few slides, a great atto dive and plenty of food and drinks. Tickets are 13 dollars for adults and 8 dollars for kids over 5. The park folks up very fast, so I always arrive as it opens. You are allowed top bring coolers. Alcohol is served inside the park. It is slightly annoying that you cannot wear your swim suit on the show side. Also, the river boat and the animal show are not currently running.

Beautiful park. Too many things not open or broken. Would be nice if what was out if order was listed on the website. Too disappointing for young ones.

Great way to spend the day

Was fun for the family to cool off on a hot summer day. We loved the Mermaid Show. That alone is worth the price of admission! I do have to say that there is one scary moment in the Little Mermaid show... not sure it is needed to scare little kids.

This used to be my favorite place .I was very disappointed with my last visit .I was excited to bring my out of town family especially my five-year-old niece who I had promised to see mermaids. Even with us being in line over an hour early the mermaid show was still at capacity and all the boat tours.Slides were shut down along with the snack bar and even the attraction where youre able to take a picture with a mermaid tail was closed . This is a one-of-a-kind attraction so I hope they start paying more attention to detail future the future of the park.

Great little waterpark. The kids loved the slides and we enjoyed washing in the water. We were down from Va on our spring break. The mermaid show had not started yet which was ok our boys did not have interest. But they did swim out to the swimming area so the kids could see them and take pictures. We enjoyed our day there and plan to go back when the nature area and boat are open and would love to kayak the clear water!

You have to rent floats the slides are fun its really crowded during the summer but hey that says a lot about the place. Safe place to bring kids for loads of fun.

I had a fun time and the peacocks were butiful same with the fish but non of the slides were open.

This was my first time coming and we came for our daughters birthday 2 adults and 5 kids. We were charged full price of $66 to go into a park where EVERYTHING was closed No water slides No lazy River and No Concession stands were open either. Our daughter was really upset as she had her day set to enjoy the rides. We could have gone to Rogers Park for free to swim in cold water. Very dissapointed.

Love this place and they have a bar but get there early

It was absolutely making memories that will last a lifetime in a majestic place full of natural wonders! And in the only city of live mermaids!! Truly had a blast. My daughter says the most funniest day ever! Lol.

Water was so cold due to natural spring! Loved the mermaid show! Lazy raft ride a little disappointing due to really no current to push you through it. Slides were fun! Liked being able to bring in our own cooler with picnic lunch! And no one bothers items there. Glad to have lockers to lock up valuables. Thanks for a great day!

I think Buccaneer Bay is one of the places in the area that you absolutely must visit at least one time.A water park that feeds from and into a natural spring is certainly a noteworthy experience.The mermaid show is the most notable. Really sets this place apart from other amusement parks. Highly recommended.There are some things that have changed between my last two visits that Im not a fan of, but nothing that spoiled the trip.I will say that extras like beer, food, and floats really start adding up, so I recommend a bare-bones approach. Your wallet will thank you.

We arrived 70 minutes before the park opened and the line was horrendous. It was a long, hot wait in the line only to get your tickets (receipt) and go to another line like the first to get in. All the chairs, umbrellas, etc. were taken immediately. We were able to secure a picnic table in a less desirable area only to have someone, as we were in the water, take up shop at our table stating, “We’ll you didn’t have much at the table.” Apparently 3 bags, a cooler and rafts were not enough to secure our table. We then waited in another line to get inner tubes. It was long line after long line. Very disorganized The water was freezing and I could never adjust to the temperature, even in the 90+ degree heat. There were only two water slides and I had the pleasure of watching staff shut down the slides to remove poisonous snakes that were slithering up the slides. The lazy river was over just as quick as it begun. Very short. The park was dirty and there were people drinking and smoking everywhere. The types of people this park attracted were “colorful.” The boat and shows were also first come first serve. You spent the entire time waiting in lines due to the “first come first serve” concept and it wasn’t worth it. Poor version of a water park. Go to Universal or Disney’s water parks. Not worth any cent spent and will not be returning.

Great fun for the family and love the mermaid show its amazing

Overcrowded and gross. Kiddie pool has stuff floating in it. We waited in line for over an hour to get in. Park opens at 9 am but was at capacity by 9:30. They determine capacity by parking, so as long as you park you are good. However, we got there at 830 and it was after 10 when we finally got into the park. There are like 3 water slides and lazy river (if you would call it that) the swimming area is too crowded to actually swim. The mermaid show was good, but not good enough to wait 2 to 3 hours to get into the park. They do not sell tickets online so you have to wait outside. There were 2 portapotties and both were disgusting and had feces everywhere. Once you get into the park the restrooms are decent. NEVER GOING BACK. $13 to get in but they overcharge on everything else.

Great family fun! No hassles from anyone ever. Lifeguards all around checking on kids and enforcing the rules. Awesome spot!

I wish I could leave negative stars, how dare you people separate me from my FOUR year old. The park and attractions are wonderful but the stupid mermaid show was very upsetting. We came on vacation in nothing but our swimsuits. The first time, I went in oh sorry cant see the show without shoes and shirt, just glancing around theres at least 5-10 people dressed pretty similar to me you guys havent said anything to. So I go back to the water area and rush back in for another one to complain about my swimsuit top but this time the person walking in front of me is also wearing a swimsuit and nothing is said. I guess your staff only has issues with black people, I will never return

Love the cold springs and mermaid show!

Went on a Saturday with my family, it was very enjoyable for a good price per person. The spring was cold and refreshing and the baby area was nice too. My only huge problem is there are 100% not enough bathroom stalls for the amount of people and the bathrooms were disgusting, not clean and no running water, the smell was not nice. But i would go again, kids had fun for sure.

Drove 4 hours with my family just to be told that they no longer would sell tickets because the park was full (you know, despite plenty of leaving cars). This was at 11:30. Park opens at 9 and supposudly sells tickets until 4:30. No preordering allowed online or anything. Had to drive 8 hours for no reason. Thanks a lot.

Fun outdoor natural freshwater spring water park. A little cold at first, but perfect on a summer day! Lazy river, water slide, kiddie pool, mermaid show, nature trail and boat ride! Pack a cooler and hit the sand, beach chairs provided!

Great place not expensive. Family had a great time! I would have given 5 stars.. but my only complaint was some of the music chiices plaing over the PA... Songs like Cardi B singing about Doing molly (drugs) shouldnt be played in a family place.. But thats just a personal thing.

Great place for a family trip, there were life guards giving careful watch incase anything happened, even over at the baby pool.

Buccaneer Bay has been a staple of Weeki Wachee Springs for years! The natural clarity and refreshing feel of the water is a treat on any hot day! The park includes multiple water slides that end with a splash in the spring and a childrens area with small slide and tunnel. Lifeguards are on watch at all attractions making it safe for swimmers of any level. The water is naturally a cool 72° year round so if your visiting during the colder months you have an increased chance of encountering a few gentle giants swimming with you (manatees)! Also, there is a snack bar and small gift shop available to browse with items including floats, bathing suits, towels, sunscreen and more. If your looking to bring lunch or snacks, small coolers are welcome into the park. Beach chairs and umbrellas are first come first serve so be sure to get there early if your looking for a good spot to lounge. Tubes are also available to rent for a river ride or to swim with in the swimming area. Also in the swimming area there is a dock which you can swim to (experienced swimmers recommended) and jump off of. Great place for families looking for a fun freshwater beach experience!

It is a decent down home park enough to get your feet wet. I appreciated the slow pace and no crowd during spring break. It is fun for for an afternoon of family time.

My family and I went there yesterday and had a great time. The water was beautiful and clean. Even though they were full it didnt seem that way. There was always plenty of room in the water for the children to play. The floating barge got out of hand a few times but the lifeguards were great at getting it under control. All around wonderful place. I will definitely recommend this to others and will also return again in the future.

Amazing water park on the Weeki Watchee river, went there as a kid and still do to this day. Fun for all ages!

It says nothing about how it reaches max capacity and no one tells you. So we srove an hour just to get there and tell us its full.

Not sure of the women name but she was the the afternoon of 11-8-18 and all day 11-9-18. Older women with blonde hair. Anyways, she was so very helpful. She told us great things to do in the area and what was/wasnt open in the park. We were very thankful since most time when you ask people what to do around their area they dont have a lot of information- she spoke with us for a good 15 mins to tell us where to go around town.We really enjoyed everything- the boat ride was peaceful, the wildlife show was funny and great for kids (big kids too since I love touching the animals) and the mermaid show was adorable. Springs were beautiful, as expected.

The shows are pretty good I just hope one day theyll get more water slides

We had a great time here today with our kids and extended family. Read some previous reviews and made sure to arrive early in order to secure a shaded spot/chairs. My 2yo had a blast in the little kid pook area and it was nice to be able to sit in the water and watch him play. There was also a life guard at all times in the kiddie pool. We had a delicious pina colada from the bar and snacks/burgers from the food window. I wish the park was bigger, as the main pool/spring area seemed cramped (for seating). For those who are unaware, you can rent chairs, umbrellas, cabanas and lockers for the day. Wish we lived closer!

Ten min till closing my brother and I went to go on the water slide one last time. we asked the two lifeguards who were standing in front of the stairs if it was still open. The one girl said no so we kindly walked away. Soon enough we see a big group go up to them and I could tell she was telling them it was closed but the leader in the group begged her and she let the group in. I laughed at her and continued to walk away. A waste of time in my opinion. I also think the prices should be changed accordingly to the amount of activities available. Didn’t know there would be no mermaid show until after we bought the tickets. Other than that it’s a really great place to be!

The park is usually quite crowded except when thunderstorms are threatening. The swimming area is a really fun place for kids, except some of the female lifeguards arent friendly to very polite, well-behaved children.

Drove 1 hour to be told to turn back around and employees said people usually come to the park at 6 am and the park opens at 9 they should put this on there website don’t come unless you come early

Over all our experience was good. The ladies upfront was exceptionally sweet and acknowledged I had 7 children during our visit. They were so pleasant to deal with coming into the park.However, after getting in the park not so. All 7 children and myself walked the hike to get the tubes for the lazy river. Had no idea that we needed to pay for arm bands to participate. So we walked up to the attendant he politely helped us get the tubes and possibly got distracted by the large group getting the tubes that he didn’t realize we didn’t have bands. So we walked back to our spot for the last run of the lazy river for the day and some lady by the name of Judy older woman walked up and started to grab our tunes we had stacked while taking pics. Judy asked if the tubes were ours and we said yes ma’am we just got them and doing a last run for the lazy river as she is taking the tubes from the children. I had asked what she was doing taking the tubes from the children and she said you don’t have arm bands and this is the rules. I said ok I understand however you did not give me an opportunity to pay for them or give me the info to go and pay. That how can she be so ugly and jus walk up and w out communication for 1st time guest and giving them the info to say ok let’s pay or let’s not. I said I can’t believe your acting in such a manner that you have 7 children watching you and this is the example you give for our young people? I told take the tubes and we won’t be back. As she was trying to manage all 5 tubes she realized it was too much for her alone to take back and she w frustration said just take them and get them back to the lazy river and drop them there. If the children had already had this experience w the lazy river I would have left them for her to take and return.Bottom line to this was when your in the company of impressionable children that you be mindful of your actions and show our children that you can handle any situation w/ communication, that it doesn’t take to be ugly or take action w/ out discussing the situation 1st. I wasn’t given an opportunity to pay for them. Immediately the aggression was there and it showed and my children of 7 witnessed it. The other parents around couldn’t believe Judy’s initial contact how abrupt she was especially in the eyes of our children. I do suggest a sign much bigger and noticeable to be close by the lazy river bcuz my children and I never walked by the lockers or consession stand to see a 2x2 sign advertising arm bands. We had no idea. Over all the children had a lot of fun and I was impressed how clean it was. The spring is refreshing and there’s sand for the kids to play in. The toddler area is disappointing, there’s on tiny slide and one small cave to crawl through.

Worst experience came to Florida for a week and heard about this fun place and went with family but got turned away due to renovations doesnt even say it on the website

3 disappointed kids, we got there 45 minutes after park opened and was told the park was full.
