Absolutely loved the beautiful white sands and lush greenery around. manatee migration period makes it all the better during the end of Nov! beautiful emerald waters and just an overall perfect time.
It used to be a five... I’ve been multiple times and LOVED it but today I went again and they’ve shortened the length of the trip by almost half, but without adjusting their prices. You don’t get to see/enjoy a lot of the really awesome sights that used to be included in the trip. They allow you four hours to complete it, but when we got to the end (much sooner than anticipated, since it’s changed since we’ve been last we didn’t know exactly where the exit was) they told us we had to get out and couldn’t go back up stream up enjoy the full four hours. Not to mention the extremely RUDE employees when I asked if we could go back upstream. It’s a beautiful place, but it definitely used to be much more enjoyable.
This use to be my all time favorite places to go to...I own a business around the area and would bring business partners when they came into town or any family...Recently they decided to cut the trip from the 6 mile down to 2.8 miles and not cut the price. We will be taking our business partners else where because this was a bad business practice on their part.On here I see them using the excuse as “winter months.”But the employees told us there it’s because they didn’t renew their agreement with Rogers park. You cut off half the beauty of weeki wachee
This place is awesome if you are going down stream. The water is crystal clear for the first while, and provides a lot of fun for kayakers of any level that want to just enjoy the day. If you are going down stream it is nearly a lazy river, if you go up stream it presents much more of a challenge especially on a windy day.The staff is very very strict, make sure you bring all of your food and drinks non disposable containers. They won’t allow you to bring disposable water bottles or anything with a wrapper. Please please make sure you bring food in a tupaware container or hard water bottle or yeti, or otherwise they will search your bag and not let you take it.
We came to Weeki Wachee to go kayaking. What a beautiful paddle. We cant wait to come back. You have to make a reservation and some times that requires a little advanced planning but is well worth it. The water is crystal clear, cold and refreshing. Because of the water temperature even on a hot, July day in Florida we stayed cool and comfortable for the entire trip. If you have your own kayaks its only $10 each to launch, you have from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and you can take a shuttle back. If you rent a kayak you only have 4 hours but thats more than enough time to paddle to Rogers Park with stops for swimming and enjoying the water. If you love to paddle be sure to make this one of your trips.
I just had to finally see the MERMAIDS AND PRINCES who have been performing for decades. Authentic roadside Florida attraction. Its a small theme park with a few attractions like a boat ride & photos with a mermaid and a beach to swim in. The water park and back attractions were already closed for winter. We enjoyed The Little Mermaid themed show with the underwater actors but only had 4 females (3 mermaids & 1 girl pirate), 1 male (a prince) & 1 turtle character. Was hoping to see a large variety troupe! I like how unique it all was. Fish swimming around them & birds on premises. Food was only ok though.
Everything is 5 star except they only give you 4 hours to make it to the end for pick up. They told us if we didnt make it in time there would be a $100 penalty which I thought was steep plus you cant relax in 4 hours you basically have to paddle the whole way to get there in time. Still giving them 5 stars because the experience was awesome.
I highly suggest getting there when it opens so you can be the first to do each of the available activities. Everything is at a first come - first serve bases. For the boats you grab armbands for each available time and they only have so many per allotted time. The mermaid theater holds about 400 people but to get the beat seating being close to the front is your best bet. We did the legend of Weeki show and it was very informative and super entertaining. We were a bit late to do the Ranger Talk since the last one is at 2:15 so we missed it. But I’m sure it would have been nice as well. The gift shop is pretty big and has reasonably priced souvenirs and gifts for everyone. After the mermaid shows they have a photo opportunity to take pictures with one of the mermaids all around its a pretty fun experience for the whole family!
Best springs in FL! Beautiful water and nice wooded surroundings with few homes which makes for a cozy, outdoor feel. We visit regularly and bring everyone who visits us to see the clear water and wildlife. Weve seen lots of turtles, birds, fish, and even a few manatees. We will continue to visit, no other springs compare.
Mermaid show is so cute and the kids love it!! The beautiful fresh spring water is consistently 72 and so refreshing. No river boat ride right now bc of construction. Water slides are fun. Lazy river is very short, but if you have goggles you can watch the fish swim by. They have a great system for renting tubes.. you get an arm band $7/each and pick the tube up at the top if the river and leave it at the bottom.. no need to store it or carry it around all day. You can bring snacks and food from outside if you want, just no alcohol. They have a bar and food to buy too. Cute gift shop. Soft sand to lay on if you dont grab a chair. Great family day and not to expensive especially if you bring your own food.
We travelled from Toronto Canada and Weeki Wachee was one of our most memorable stops. Affordable fun for all ages. The kids loved the Hippo show with Lou. Thanks to all staff for making it a fun afternoon. Happy Holidays!!!
This is awesome place. We launch our kayak near Roger park and paddle upstreamI highly recommend if you have your own kayak just go straight to Rogers Park or some marina there cause too slim chance that they will let you launch in the statepark. Still worth it. Its about 2.5 hours paddle upstream to the state park . We enjoyed the water. Highly recommended and worth the drive.
Beautiful park!! $13 admission (#steal) and another $7 for tube rental for the lazy river all day! Got to live out an idea of living with peacocks, and had a real live manatee swim right underneath us while we were tubing. A couple of slides were down per maintenance issue, but the others were fun and the line not too long. And the mermaid show was fun, but I wish that the patriarchal overtones were removed. I understand the history of the show, but why the pinup girl voices and the undertones of mermaid fetish. Good usage of newer songs and #greatestshowman was a wonderful opening number. All in all will be back, and hopefully soon to kayak!!
We went for a half day on a Sunday and the park was not too busy. If you go just for the park and not the water park you will not have much to do. I was born in St Pete Florida and have never visited, so we decide to check it out. The mermaid show was great and choreographed very nicely. We did the river cruise which was enjoyable and the staff was great. It was a very hot day and we wished we had planned for going to the Water Park as well. You must do the entire park and water park or you will have little to do. Next time we will do the water park in addition to the nature park.
What a wonderful place. Feels like you are in a living Fairytale. And if you have little ones, they are going to love it!And after The Little Mermaid show, take the included boat ride down the spring. It really is such a treasure, and I caught myself getting emotional and tearing up more than once, and I consider myself a real mans man so that is saying something.Trust me on this, go to the Park and be open for a really wholesome experience, you and your family wont be disappointed.Cheers!La A
Great park and the spring is wonderful. The mermaids and show are spectacular. You have to be there before 09:00 am because park closes as soon as it reaches max capacity which by that time.
We go back here everytime were in the area. Little kids will be mesmerized with the mermaid show. Truly a magical place.
A very beautiful river. Highly recommend this is you want a fun day on the river, very easy and clear the whole time. Plenty of area to swim. The trip from the kayak launch is about 7 miles but its6a very easy 7 miles. Weve done it with little ones as young as 3.
Great place to spend the weekend. Must watch mermaid show, amazing performance by their team.
We had a fun short visit to the springs today. We didn’t know until we got there that the boat tour wasn’t running today. I will check ahead next time. The grounds are beautiful, the staff very friendly and food reasonably priced.
The water here is so clear! I saw one manatee in the winter, but they are more active in the summer. I also saw blue herons, egrets, turtles, and fish. The current is pretty strong so you barely have to paddle, just steer. It takes about 2-3 hours at a leisurely pace without stopping. Also no disposable containers or wrappers are allowed. Best time to visit is in the fall or spring, it gets very crowded in the summer and thunderstorms are frequent.
Went kayaking here and it was beautiful! A sight to see and if you enjoy being in the water youll have a great time. The reason for the 1 star is due to a very rude and disrespectful employee named Mike who shuttled everyone back on the school bus once we finished kayaking. He asked us for our names very rudely to look us up to make sure we could board the bus. Then indicated that two of our names didnt exist and told us that we didnt know what we were doing. It wasnt a good way to end the trip and as a paying customer expected more. I submitted feedback via email and never received a response hence my 1 star review.
We went here with our team to see the new mermaid show. Everyone loved it. Afterward my wife and I went and spent some time swimming in the Springs and our little one got to spend some time at Buccaneer Bay. Absolutely a great place to go spend the day.
Beautiful!! Started with River cruise at 10:30 am. Saw The little mermaid show at 11:00. Ranger tour at 12:00. Wonderful day. $13 per adult.
What a relaxing, serene place! Went here at 8 am and so so lovely. Absolutely a must visit! Staff was great and experience was so wonderful. Didn’t see manatees as it was too worm but plenty of other wildlife.
Great park geared more for kids. The mermaid show is very entertaining especially for kids. The pontoon ride was relaxing and informative. We did not get there until 2:30 and was not told that everything closed at 4 or 4:30. The charge for getting in is $13 per person.
Great for paddle boarding. Long river and springs... the staff is amazing, they take good care of the park, and teach visitors to do the same. I would love to come back soon!
This is a magical river experience. Kayak in a peaceful downstream current surrounded by nature. Its gets a little busy and crowded at the bottom section of the river but not too bad. And at the right time of year you can swim with the manatees!
For Covid-19 they werent allowing visitors to go down to the drop off point. 1.5 miles down river and then you had to paddle back up. But it was a great workout. Tons of friendly people. The park employees are wonderfully polite and careful during this trying time. Definitely visit to enjoy crystal clear spring water and a relaxing float down the spring and a nice workout coming back up. Fun!
If you have sun pass everything is free. Great please. We are so happy. Have mermaid theatre, playground for kids, more birds and animals, very interesting boats trip, have kayaks for rent 1 people 40$ 2 people 60$ 3 hours. I am very recommend this place
Fantastic mermaid show! The spring water is mesmerizing. You have to get there before 10:00am or you wont get to do the boat ride until around 4:00 and you wont be able to get any tents or umbrellas. Nice place to visit for the price.
This place was staggeringly beautiful. The people who work here are genuine. Please respect the environment as it may be one of the few places left that are both Tame and Awe-inspiring!
Wonderful place. Beautiful beach with water slides, shops restaurants and kid friendly themes. Lush florida landscape with amazing wild life. Best of all the beautiful mermaids!!! I recommend seeing both shows. Spend the whole day its well worth the entrance fee!
Went here today and wanted to kayak the river and see some manatees and get a nice relaxing workout on my day off with my bf. Instead I got turned down because I didnt have a reservation. We drove hour half to do nothing, the girl was rude. So went to the other side of park. Seen mermaid show. That is it for $13 per person. Boat ride was extra with a scheduled band. Wildlife closed. Slides closed. Pool was full. A completely waste of time to drive there and $
Amazing spot I have been here 4+ times and seeing the animals in there naturally environment is so cool! I always like to walk into the Reptile room and see all the cool snakes and if you are there at the right time they will even take out baby alligators!!!! Must see if you are in the area ..+ the boat ride into the park is so cool!
Awesome park to see the mermaids! Right next door there is a water park with water slides and swimming. Best is this awesome river. Take the kayak or canoe down this beautiful river. See manatee and many other wildlife. Water is generally crystal clear unless a lot of boat traffic-which on the weekends is a very busy river. Lots of spots to stop on your journey and get out to swim. Flows toward the gulf and past a small local beach called Rogers Park which is ALWAYS overflowing with guests. This river is a must do for all nature and water lovers. You can start at Weeki Wachee Springs Park and flow west many miles of beautiful nature!
Really beautiful park that shines with its history and humbly boasts of its ecological preservation efforts. It has come along way since its origin of a unique roadside attraction. With your admission fee, you can take a 20 minute interpretive boat cruise down the springs and use the water slides/swimming area in the springs. Music will keep you entertained in the beach area. They also offer several mermaid shows wit varying themes that last 30 minutes long. The 400 person underwater amphitheater fills up quickly, so they open the doors 30 minutes early. An interpretive ranger uses this time to educate you and even provide you a little humor. On my visit, a ranger presented a live King Snake & did an amazing job. They have concession food, gift shops, mold-a-Ramas, and free parking. Their landscaping with endemic plants is pleasant, and I was sad to see no hiking or walking trails were available. Thanks for a great visit!
Awesome kayaking adventure.Just float or paddle as much or as little as u want. The current takes you quietly down the river. We will definitely be back. The water is crystal clear and you can see fish and a few manatees.Bring a camera and sunblock. You will take away memories!!
Very saddened they shortened the length of the trip and without really lowering the price. Also the time limit isnt sufficient for the amount of money it cost. The post is to have a relaxing day on the spring, not a rushed trip.
First time to see the mermaids of Weeki Wachee was in 1972. I want to let you know the shows are still great and the mermaids have not aged a year. State parks have done a great job in remodeling the facility. The underwater amphitheater has undergone a complete remodel and is excellent. Everyone should visit this Florida jewel. 365 days a year since 1946. I will totally go back again. Thank you mermaids.
My family always enjoys coming here. It’s great that there are reservations so you don’t have to worry about it being too crowded when you arrive. When you go all the way to the end you can pay extra to be picked up and taken back to the beginning of the park. The best part is going down the river and stopping at the tree swings. The kids definitely enjoy it a ton. My absolute favorite part is the end and being up close and personal with the manatees. We usually bring our own paddle boards and canoes. You cannot bring disposable items into the park. They will do a search prior to launching into the water.
What a great activity to do on a cool day. The water is crystal clear and the wildlife is amazing. From the fish to the birds to the racoons and armadillo. The current from the spring basically pushes you down the river with little to no effort. They pick you up at the end and bring you back to the start where you parked your car.
Beautiful the entire day it was a little chilly in the morning. Such a great trip seen fish turtles manatees and a baby manatee great kayak trip not to fast of a pace hands down my favorite so far.
We had such a incredible time here. The water is so clear and clean. The staff was so great and made sure to sanatize everything including the bus for transportation back from out kayak adventure. Cant wait to go again
Always have to stop here and kayak when Im in Florida. Absolutely beautiful views and if youre lucky, you might see a manatee! Be aware though that absolutely no non-reusable anything may go on the water. They sell reusable water bottles and plastic ware if needed, but its pricey so be sure to pack smart!
That was amazing. Closer encounter with Manatee, turtle and many kind of birds in a beautiful landscape. Kayaking at his best. 7 miles down stream with breathtaking views.
This is a great place for little girls! Like around the ages 4-8. Its an older place. The buildings look a little run down. This place started in 1947. So the upkeep apparently has been difficult. The boat ride on the creek/river of the springs was pretty cool. The mermaid show was designed for children. They had an Ariel show that day. Pretty impressive for being underwater. They Mermaids were very convincing!! They all did an awesome job!!!! Even the Prince was good at the breathing. There were Peacocks walking around, making the place seem a little magical!!! There was even a white peacock!! They even have a building where you could have a Wedding reception, or baby shower or things like that. Pretty cool place. Even if the buildings needed attention.
We had the best best time we rented canoes we went up and down the river we got lost but we had a blast LOL and the first time I was on a canoe and Im 70 years old LOL so much nature there you could get lost in it
Wow, what an experience! Youve got everything here for everyone, even a day at the beach! The Mermaid Show was amazing, one of the very best parts of this old part. I highly recommend a visit for the whole family!
Great fun for the whole family. Affordable entrance prices. A beautiful spring and crystal clear water. Its worth bringing goggles to enjoy the view underwater. Shallow to deep water with a floating dock that you can dive off ok. Lifeguards everywhere. Theres 3 different types of water slides and a lazy river that you can rent tubes to float down. Youre allowed to bring a cooler but they also sell food and drinks there. Big umbrellas and lounge chairs. Get there early if youd use the umbrella and lounge chairs. The park opens at 8am. There is a gated kiddie section thats perfect for babies and toddlers. Also a boat tour, gift shop and a spectacular underwater mermaid show!
Nice family beach/park. We loved the MERMAID SHOW.My family and I decided to beat the park closure due to full capacity on a weekend and went on a Friday. The spring is nice and clear but FRIGID for me!! Theres about 3/4 slides and a decent size area to jump into the spring which at that particular location can be about 20 feet deep.We rented a locker to place our belongings and paid for a wrist band, which allowed us to use the single or double tubes at the natural lazy river a whole day.The park is nice and clean. They offer chair, umbrella, cabana rentals among other items. The atmosphere was serene. The sand area immediately in front of the springs is not as big, but they have space behind on the grass with picnic tables and empty space on the grass that you can use to lay a blanket on and sun bathe. You can bring a cooler and your own food which is awesome. Should you not want to bring your own food you can purchase the usual, burgers, fries, hot dogs, soda, ice cream right by the springs. You can lay back and take in all the beauty of nature around you, from the trees to the spring, and the roaming peacocks. We even got to see a snake or two in the bushes. However the staff was quick to remove them. The entertaining mermaid show lasted about 1/2 hr. My girls, ages 7 and 9 enjoyed the remake of the Little Mermaid. They offer about 3-4 shows a day. In order to enjoy the mermaid show you must wear regular clothing, no beach wear is allowed to see the show, which is a few feet away from the spring. Theres also a shop if you want to purchase memorabilia.
Absolute waste of a trip we drove two and half hours to go and was excited the whole way. When we pulled in at 8:20 the parking lot was almost full. We waited in the ticket line for an hour and half in the scorching sun with 3 small kids. ( you can imagine how that went!) we finally reach the window!!!! Only to be let down, once we got in I couldnt believe my eyes I kept telling my husband and kids this cant be all of it?!!!! But it was super packed so packed that people were running into us even bumping into my 11 yr old. WAY TO SMALL!!!!!! Dont waste your time the pictures online made it look big it was not!!!! the first thing that came to my mind was a watering hole. I know now why it was so cheap to get in. I have been to many springs in Florida this one was a let down. I did have the locals tell me the kayaking is way better. So if you like to wait in long lines and be in the water with hundreds of other people so tight you cant swim this is the place for you!
Love the mermaid show! A fun little water park. Water is so clear but cold (it is a very spring). Reasonably priced, come early because the line gets crazy.
AWESOME. AWESOME. From the pontoon boat ride and seeing all the Manatees rite up close. And watching the mermaid show was really fun and rite up front too. Super fun time today.
Such a cool place! Kids loved it and so did me and the wife. Water slides go into the river. The water is some of the most naturally occurring beautiful water you will ever see. Awesome for snorkeling! A highlight of our trip to florida!
Crowded. Very crowded. Lovely little Lagoon. The spring water is incredibly refreshing and cold. I went kayaking. That was also wonderful until you ran into everyone else kayaking. Then it was like a gladiator battle with your damn oars. We only got to see one Manatee. Im not surprised-- there were just so many people I would have been hiding too. Did see some lovely large fish, beautiful scenery and water, and of course all the nice Florida birds like egrets and cranes.
We love Weeki Wachee state park. It is fun for the family. The river boat tour is nice and the water is crystal clear, so beautiful. We love the mermaid shows and the photo ops. Buccaneer Bay is really great to swim in, especially on a hot day but come early because the park reaches capacity quickly. Very relaxed and the staff are very friendly.
We had a blast kayaking the Weeki Wachee River. We started at the state park (make sure you make reservations). Crystal clear water and even a manatee sighting!
It was a great and beautiful place I had a lot of fun with my family its a great place for kids just be careful not getting messed up where you lined up to get the tickets and the line to actually get in
My favorite kayaking spot in the area. The water is so clear, the perfect place to spend a hot summer day.
Wow. Definately something to see if you are in the area... for us it was a 3 hr drive from when we were staying but the whole family loved it. Their main pool/spring is great for everybody, the lazy river should be called super lazy river as it barely moves the tubes and it was super short but still nice relaxing experience. The slides also look like tons of fun. The lines and the whole place is not too crowded because of their policy of closing the admissions when the park reaches its limit. The river tour is also great and full of useful information. One thing we did not get to see was the main attraction which is the mermaid show but everybody says its fun. The wild life show was closed for renovation so we did not get to see that as well. The best thing is that everything is included in the admission price so thumbs up... the only thing that you pay extra for is the rentals which include the tubes and you cant bring your own.... Go and visit the park
A fun time spent on a hot day! My daughter has been dying to come see the mermaids and said it was everything she hoped itd be. We experienced everything - the riverboat tour, each of the 2 mermaid shows, swimming in the (cold) water, and doing the water slides. The water takes some getting used to but is refreshing when its so hot. I recommend signing up for the boat tours as soon as you get there since they fill up fast. You can bring your own umbrellas and shade tents because the shaded areas and chairs fill up quickly. You can bring coolers in with you too. All this for the admission price! Lockers (and other things such as tubes) are available for rental. There are places to buy food and drinks if you dont bring anything. The only other things we had to pay for was in the gift shop since she wanted souvenirs. The water is so clear (see photo)!
Weeki Wachee Springs Park it’s so nice, a good place work out with friends and families, so much fun. Recently It’s just for appointments only cuz Coronavirus.
Been going here since ive been a kid now my Daughter does. Love this place, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Small little park. Make it through in about 10 minutes, plus 30 minutes for the mermaid show.We did not go swimming there, but that may be a fun little way to spend the afternoon - peacocks roam around freely in the park. The mermaid show was nice, but it would have been better if they mermaids would have moved around more so you could see them from all the seats.
Great little roadside attraction. Take a few hours and kayak the river too! (Reserve at least a week in advance)
This park is amazing! They appear to have recently upkept the walkways and small bridges, keeping them accessible and smooth for walking or wheelchairs/strollers. It is the only park I have been to that only utilizes a ramp to go into their theatre, which was very interesting. The live shows are visually entertaining, as well as educational (to a degree). They even have wildlife to view and learn about. It was too cold when we visited, but they also have waterslides and a beach to enjoy the clear spring waters. I was also told about a boat tour, but it was getting its maintenance during the time of my visit. If I get a chance to come back in the future I look forward to seeing that. Family friendly, and definitely recommended.
Oh man I loved everything about being here and doing that shows and stuff the boat and other wildlife things close at this time so I didnt get to enjoy that but the water in the mermaids was the best thing ever and I got to do it on my birthday so it was even better. I really really like this place and I cant wait to visit again.
First time visiting and unfortunately everything was under renovation except the beach area. Was still a very enjoyable experience because the water was so beautiful and clear, and the area was clean and well kept. I am looking forward to my next visit after the renovations to go kayaking and other fun things.
Great experience! See the mermaid show! They also have beautiful & expressive peacocks there.
I live really close to this park so we planned our visit around a slower day with less customers which worked out great. The mermaid show in the natural springs is pretty cool with the springs being the stage for the show. I also have a lot of respect for the hard work and swimming talent the mermaids have to do their performances. Especially on the extremely cold days.
This was the most beautiful place Ive been to. The water is crystal clear the entire way and there is an abundance of aquatic wildlife. The manatees are so fun to swim with.
Fantastic fun. Peaceful, with plenty of places to stop for a swim / take in the views. Loved every minute of this Kayak trail.
Reasonable prices, its smaller than other parks, so not very much to walk, but if you need they rent scooters for $20. Fresh, cold clean spring water year around. Great for the kids and all activities are included with the entrance fee. No parking fee. Its perfect for me, living 10 minutes away.
Packed to capacity. Mermaid show was full fast. We didnt get to see it. I would try again just to see the show and to see if at another time of the year it may not be as busy.... ?Reasonably priced.
Magical. The most magical place (even more than Disney and Im a Disney addict). The mermaids are extremely beautiful and talented. I highly recommend a visit here. The river boat trip was awesome and educational.
Buccaneer bay is fun. The mermaid show is super cute too. The water is beautiful and crystal clear. There is a kids park to play on and some shows as well. There is a room you can rent for weddings and eventa, several food options and a decent gift shop.
It is a wonderful experience especially in the mermaid theatre! You have to get there early and plan your day according to when the mermaid shows are. Don’t miss those!! Take lots of pictures and you won’t regret it!!
Went April 26, 2019. They underwater theater was under construction, so that was off limits. The lazy river felt like a rip off. Its very short. The water slides dont disappoint. Very fun. Only down side is there are 3 slides but people only form one line, so while your waiting in the line, the slide you want to go on might be empty, or only has a few people that want to ride it.Be careful for maximum capacity hours which is normally at 9am.Be prepared to get in line well before the part opens. The kayaking was very beautiful and lengthy FOUR MILES. It was tons of fun because after the park limits you can hop off an swim in the crystal clear water.
A beautiful state park with crystal clear water. The mermaid show is definitely something to see. They open at 9am. But by 8 am there is already a long line to get it. They have a river cruise but by 11am is booked so if you want to do it go straight to it and schedule it.
Wonderful! I came here as a child and it brought back so many memories. The mermaid show was great, although short because of a storm. The boat ride was good and very informative. Everything was clean as a whistle. I would definitely recommend it!
Where live Mermaids have been swimming for years, this magical place is a must see or like me continuously visit. Living off a canal from this mystical gorgeous spring and river is dreamy. There is no other place like the Weeki, I made my home and now live heavenly nature filled life. Have a blessed day, enjoy!#xo_d#denisemartin
It was very fun. Also refreshing in this hot weather. Only thing to complain about is, you have to buy a raft for the lazy river for 7$ each. Other then that great place.
A fun place to spend the day if you have never been. I do recommend getting there early. Not very expensive.
Seeing the mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs was on my Florida bucket list, and Im so glad I got to go before I move out of the state. Its a unique and spectacular Florida experience going back to 1947. We saw 2 of the mermaid shows, both beautiful choreographed, completely underwater swim-dancing events. There are even costume changes! I really enjoyed them both, but the second one featured legacy mermaids, now between 64 and 80 years old, who started out swimming there in the 1960s and 1970s. One thing that surprised me was how much of a roadside attraction the place is. Being a state park, I expected more wilderness, hiking trails, etc. But its very much a tourist trap. We took the wildlife cruise, which although it had lovely views, was terribly underwhelming. Theres also a water park, and you can rent kayaks.
Ive seen videos of the mermaid show before, I had no idea it was just down the road from where my in-laws live. It was a fun show and all the kids really enjoyed it.
Its worth the price of admission for sure. Be sure to get there first thing in morning! Once they hit 1400 people for the day no more in for the day. Doesnt matter if people leave your not getting in. River boat tour fills up quick and be sure to get in line for the cant miss mermaid show!! And of course the freshwater swimming is great on a hot day. All in its worth the $13 dollars to get in.
Excellent place incredible history. Loved the show of the little mermaid all under water. Going again
I absolutely love this place and return whenever I can. The price of admission is so cheap compared to all that you can do. Great for families and you can swim all year.
If you plan on Kayaking. Make sure you reserve a few days before you go. The 3-4 hours river run is not hard. Very pleasant trip and great memories .
Love this place! Great to hangout with friends, family, coworkers, etc. Beautiful and refreshing. See manatees, fish, birds. Love this place!
Kayaking here is one of my favorite experiences ever. Saw more manatees than I thought I would. Only complaint is it was kind of crowded and people we following manatees to point I felt the animals looked distressed. Well as distressed as a peaceful loaf of animal can be.
Amazing experience! Launching from the state park enables you to float the 6 miles to Rogers Park where there is a shuttle that will pick you up and take you back to your car. There are other kayak rentals that are a little less expensive and give you more time BUT you have to paddle upstream. As we got closer to Rogers Park we saw a lot of people who had rented from the other places and they were asking how much further until they got to the clearer water (the water does get murky at about mile 4 is my estimated guess). Most people we saw had only paddled maybe a mile upstream and were whipped already. If you are looking for a nice relaxing kayak experience AND have kids definitely launch from the state park. Reservations ARE required but you can do that online through their website. Only non disposable containers for food and water are allowed. Be sure to read all the rules the park has. For us to experience the beauty of the springs was well worth the extra cost and not killing ourselves paddling upstream. Hope this helps for anyone looking to experience Weeki Wachee. We did a lot of research before we decided where to rent the kayaks from so hopefully this will help eliminate time spent looking up info.
Neat things to do for just a little money! Mermaid show was fascinating! The rangers had a decent show with live animals, and we got to see manatees on the river boat tour. Live peacocks wandering around the park were fun to watch.
More than enough to do during the parks hours. It is inperitive that you get there at least an hour early the park does fill up and you can wait in line for quite awhile only to be turned away. There are two lines and to enter the park you will start in the ticket purchase line and upon purchasing tickets you will be then ushered to the back of the second line to wait for entrance to the park. The mermaid show is a fun throwback to a simpler time and it is is fun to sit in the theater below water level. The spring is paradise and Buccaneer Bay is alot of fun even with the crowds.
Great, small, water park. Dont waist money on renting the innertubes. Lazy river is very short and you half of the run you have to swim over to catch the current.
Beautiful place. Seen a baby manatee & small alligator. Had a great time kayaking. We took our 10 year old and 3 year kayaking and all of us enjoyed it and completed it all in 2.5 hours at a slow pace and even took some breaks along the way.
Wonderful show, magical experience! The water is cold and refreshing, the staff is friendly, happy, kind, and all together a fantastic team. Free water at the bar if you get too hot, locker rental for the buccaneer Bay was reasonable, and the mermaids had a fantastic performance!!! Such a wonderful experience, 10/10 would come here again.
