Worth the trip. Breathtaking views. Get there early so you can have some time on your own, it really adds experience when youre not sharing the bridge with other people and vehicle traffic.

Good place to spend some time. The fall colours add to the beauty of the water flowing down. Nothing much to do except for clicking some pictures and taking a small stroll. If you have time while on your visit to Olympic National Park, you can pay it a visit.

We went during the smoke from the fired and it was still amazingly beautiful. Messages to others on the bridge were moving and some funny. There are people who come and censor bad language but worth reading all the messages on the bridge, as well as take in natures best!!

Ok, I was shocked at the graffiti but I guess the state allows it on the bridge only as a right of passage. However, kids come through here too and there unfortunately is some very obscene graffiti. The rest of the places, AMAZING! So Beautiful! Trails are not easy especially when wet.

Beautiful drive up a mountain logging road to get to a bridge. You walk up to said bridge and are a little disheartened at the amount of graffiti all over. then..... you look over the side and nature takes over and everything is right with the world. Even if just for a moment. So beautiful. A waterfall a river and a forest full of magic. Well worth the drive.

So I do not recommend the trails that go underneath the bridge. Theyre extremely dangerous. The trail to the left is where we got to the waterfall and it was breathtaking. Beyond safer than the other trail at the end of the bridge.

Interesting detour in the middle of nowhere! Its a cool old structure (with lots of creative artwork spray painted on it). Views of river below are amazing and it IS high up there, but there is nothing else to do except drive up to the bridge, walk across it and look around at a cool view for a few minutes get back in your car and drive back to the main road. Most of the road up is an unpaved, forestry road. Couple this with a drive up to Hamma Hamma for seafood...makes the day trip worth it!

What an amazing view. When they say high steel-bridge they literally mean towering over and across a valley. So high up the angle of the river below looks distorted. Highly recommend for those adventurous enough. A sturdy vehicle is recommended, 4x4 preferred but not required.

Pretty cool views from the bridge. Didnt expect the drive through a valley farming area on a curvy road, but it was fun and really nice. There was also an area where you could pull over and enjoy a creek, which would be great on a hot day. You have to drive the last three miles or so on a dusty gravel forest road, but its worth it once you get to the bridge. Its a bumpy ride if you dont have a four-wheel drive vehicle. When youre on the bridge, dont throw anything off of it. Another visitor was showing his family how to throw rocks off the bridge and was caught by a forest worker who told him he could get a ticket for doing that. This bridge definitely lives up to its name and is super high, so if youre nervous about heights, hold on to the railing and dont look straight down.

We honored a local pumpkin disposal tradition and ventured onto dirt and gravel forest service roads to the location of High Steel Bridge, one of the highest bridges in the United States. It is really high! The pumpkins dwindled rapidly as they went over the side to explode on the rocky slope at the bottom of a breathtaking gorge. The pieces rolled down into an icy looking river and were carried away. It was very satisfying to the grandkids, mom and grandma. Surprisingly for such a remote location, there were a handful of cars there with families enjoying the sights and tossing the occasional squash over the side... My daughter said they always find families there when they go.

The views are awesome but why do people feel the need to deface a historic site? The bridge itself is nothing but graffiti from one end to the other now. Not really what I was hoping my grandson would choose to see. Nothing cool about the lack of respect that does nothing but detract from what used to be an absolutely awesome spot.

Very impressive, old steel bridge high above the Skokomish river. Usually a quiet visit. Not really any location though for a comfortable picnic, Best seen after heavy rainfall. Its marred only by graffiti. After leaving highway 101 there is about 5 miles of well maintained asphalt road, the rest of the way is mostly a pot holed mix of dirt and gravel road, easily driven.
