One of the best little zoos weve been to in a while. So many things to see. A lot of reptiles and birds, but our favorites were the Lemurs and Marmosets! We went in the morning so the animals were very active! Feeding the goats and sheep were a lot of fun too! The souvenir shop was reasonably priced and had a wide selection of items to choose from. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. Would definitely recommend!

We just left and had a great time exploring all the exhibits. We had a 5 year old and 8 year old who love animals, three adults, and 1 senior who all had a great time. We came at opening which allowed us to see feeding time as well, which was awesome. We spent about an hour and a half seeing and feeding the animals. An inexpensive must see

At first we werent sure what to expect with a zoo built in front of the local movie theater but we were pleasantly surprised. Lots of small exotics here plus a petting zoo area where you can feed the goats and sheep. The staff were very friendly and we could tell they cared about the animals. My kids had a good time and we spent a little over an hour here. While its not the most exciting thing to do in the area, the Rainforest Discovery Zoo is the perfect rainy day activity.

We loved this place. We decided to stop by on our last day in pigeon forge and we are glad we did. We were initially hesitant because of the covid situation but they were very slow and we felt like we had the place all to ourselves. My girls loved getting to see all the small rainforest animals. And they had a few baby goats running around which my girls loved. It was affordable and we had fun.

The staff was quite nice on my visit.Talked about the tortoises and asked if they were rescues because of how badly their pyramiding were. We were told they were donated and werent taken care of by their previous owners. Their food were things like russet potatoes, which is not recommended to be fed to tortoises often, though we came at the end so we dont know if they were fed other vegetables and proper reptile food.Im not too sure about the other reptiles, but their enclosures had live mice running around inside, as well as the lemurs had mice sitting in their food bowls. We came around 2 hours after our initial visit with our wristbands and I noticed the animals, such as the lemurs, didnt move around much from before and looked quite sad still. In fact, almost all the animals looked depressed. The birds were either silent and still, or running around screaming at people. Im not a bird handler, but I believe thats not normal behavior. Most of them obiviously have clipped wings so they cant fly, though Im not sure if thats because they were donated/recieved like that.Im not sure if these animals are rescues/donated by those who cant care for them, but its just quite dirty in there with obviously a mouse problem. I believe these people do care for the animals, but there is just too many types and species to properly take care of each one. Maybe with covid they have less staff that are qualified/ knowledgeable to take care of every species, but the previous 1 star reviews make it seem that this has been going on for around 4 years.

My husband and I took our time. We enjoyed it. Beware it is a jungle in there--where the animals are, the air isnt on. There is a precious feed/pet area outside the clear back double doors; go both ways. The animals were napping or eating; it was midday so not too active. The reason they didnt get 5 stars, the signage was lacking on some of the exhibits. Not for sure why but we wanted to know what we were looking at.

Beautiful place to visit. We got a Groupon a d the 2 bags of food was perfect for the kids. We have visited this area for many years and have never had the pleasure of visiting this lovely zoo. We had not even checked into our hotel yet when we stopped here. First, the cost is VERY reasonable at $12 each. We stayed for over 2 1/2 hours so this was one of the best values you will find in this entire area! The habitats were very well designed and maintained with a natural setting as well as affording the guests a pretty good view. I understand the animals can get stressed but I have a real pet leave when you cant see the animals in the setting because it defeats the whole purpose of an attraction, but this location does a great balance of animal care and guest enjoyment. There are habitats inside and out. There are sheep and goats to feed and pet so buying the food is well worth it. They had a Bearcat on a leash they were walking around which was fascinating to watch and experience. I do have to say that the marmosets were our favorite attraction! They were so precious and so cute. As we were watching we noticed a mama at the top with two tiny babies! They were teeny tiny and still nursing. There was another younger marmoset who was a teenager and just playing and climbing and so cute. There were several smaller monkey exhibits that were also fascinating to watch. I have never seen several of the monkey species on display. I think what was so darn cute about them was how active and happy they were as well as their little faces! If you imagine a 50 cent piece: thats about as big as their teeny little faces. We could have watched them for hours.Again this was only $12 per ticket and very well worth the price. We will definitely make this a new tradition every time we come to the Smoky Mountains and I would not hesitate recommending this attraction to anyone coming to Pigeon Forge of any age!

I had gotten discount tickets on Groupon and gave it a try since it was pretty inexpensive. We were pleasantly surprised and we all had a great time. We especially love the tamarins and lemurs. It’s mostly indoors but there’s a section outside with sheep, goats, a few lizards, turtles and a couple of monkeys. You can feed the goats and sheep right out of your hand. It’s funny because they follow you around and almost fight each other to be the one to get fed! So cute! We spent about an hour there.

Be ready for a strong animal smell. The front staff are great, guy walking around collecting animal food, not so friendly. And...they have a mice issue?? Meanwhile they have an exhibit showing the stages of live baby mice??..loose mice run around in all different enclosures with different animals. As our family took a week vacation in Tn...Im the animal lover so this was for me. They keep way too many reptiles together that should be housed alone in too small of enclosures. Especially the leopard geckos. Many were too small from competing for food and fighting. One of the employees joked about a bearded dragon whos eyes were both in very bad shape...again more than likely from being housed with others in the same tank. Do not give these people your money. I have been successfully keeping many of the reptiles they have here for years. Ask any reputable breeder or veterinarian and they would say the same thing about this place.

This place is a lot smaller than we realized. 2 adults and 3 kids from 4 to 12 cost us almost $60. We swiped our card at 12:01 and were out by 12:50. That includes the time we spent in the gift shop. This is not a zoo. Most of the exhibits are inside. Its basic spiders, lizards, snakes small breed monkeys, turtles, sheep. Nothing spectacular on display except the Axolotl, which Ive never seen before in any other aquarium and a Sphinx Rat, which I had never heard of. It also smelled terrible. Weve been to so many zoos and aquariums and have never smelled the life living there. It was pretty rough here. The gift shop had a very nice variety of items and the prices were very reasonable and not jacked up like most places. The staff was really sweet, too. Definitely not a place I would recommend nor would I come again. Ok I guess to pass some time for the little ones, just cost wise wasnt worth it.

Its nice to have access to reptiles and exotics in this part of the world. Many animals had enclosures appropriate to size and others more expansive than need be. However, just as many examples where caging far too small: blue tongue skinks and all the monitors. Most concerning was the lighting. Based on hanging lights and tube lighting, they were far too high to obtain UVB exposure even if temps ok. In the tortoise pen there were sulcattas and leopards, similar in dryland needs but there was an old yellow foot and badly pyramided redfoot than require the opposite environment. Several sulcattas vying for one hanging bulb when there should have been 4 or 5 bulbs. I was here shortly after it opened years back and there was better integrity in terms of husbandry. Rearrange the animals to meet caging needs and get the lighting right and this place becomes a great resource.

If you want a perfect experience here, go to the bathroom before you visit. The one fault here is the bathrooms.
