The Apple Barn is a very interesting place to visit but make sure you allot plenty of time to explore before or after dinner. Lots of little shops to explore. My husband likened the store in the main barn next to the restaurant to the Cracker Barrel old country store only bigger. The food is awesome!

The ladies in the shop were great, pleasant and helpful.I would have given this place 4 stars but Thomas was tight lipped and showed us ZERO hospitality while there to purchase wine for our upcoming event. He then smiled and happily greeted the people that waited behind us like they were family. My husband and I looked at eachother in disbelief. Such a shame. We will spend our money where it is welcomed.

My husband and I travel to Gatlinburg every year and each year we do the wine/moonshine tastings that are available and each year we fall more and more in love with Tennessee wines. (Being from Michigan, we get a lot of good cherry wines from the local wineries but the grape wines up here just dont seem to compare to those that are offered in the smokies.) Im a sweet wine drinker and my husband is a dry so between the two of us, we usually end up trying everything on the selection sheet. The tasting was fun and the selection was diverse (a good thing for us) some patience was needed this year as due to covid, things are a little slower and less laid back than before but, as I mentioned it was still a lot of fun.We ended up with some apple raspberry and an apple cherry to take home.

Very nice place, its part of a larger complex, all to do with apples. The barn has jams, butters,( apple peach, and others). Juices. A candle store,( candies, candied apples etc). A hard cider store. A winery. And a resteraunt. All very clean, very busy with very nice helpful staff. Loved it.

We went in the winery on Saturday night (part of the wine trail) at 7:45 pm not knowing they closed at 8 pm. We stood at the counter for 8 minutes waiting for someone to greet us or to just acknowledge that we were there. There were 4 workers and they were having there own conversations and finally someone spoke up and said we quit the tastings at 10 till so we can get out of here. We were fine with that but disappointed that no one had spoke up to say anything. When we walked in the place had a terrible smell but we said we would come back on Sunday. We did go back on Sunday and it still smelled bad and the 4 people were just as rude as the night before. We were never greeted again and they took several other people in front of us. We watched as the other girl was doing several other things besides the tasting and no one was really explaining the wines. Finally we were able to do our tasting and we only liked one of the wines they offered. We left and went to the cider tasting which everything is carbonated. The girl was getting ready to get off work and rushed us through without explaining much at all. Both of these places need to be taken off the wine trail as every other winery was super nice and friendly. We talked to several people that work in various places and they all said that the staff at the Apple Barn are very rude and the managers do not care. We will not be going back!!!!

With all the awards won, I did not see an one for customer service and I know why now. The two ladies were not friendly, they acted more like our small group was more a hassle than customers. No one greeted us as we walked in, even when standing at the register it took them several moments to stop their conversation about what needs to clean to acknowledge us. The wines are good, a bit over priced but their store front service was sub-par.

The prices have gone up. The quality of the food has gone down. The portions have been cut back. We have been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years . When we spoke to the server and then the manager about this, they assured us that it has ALWAYS been like this. The server who has only been working there for about a year felt that ALWAYS was the right answer to give us! My wife and I know for a fact that it things have changed. The food at the restaurant was AMAZING! They give you apple fritters with apple butter instead of bread...hello?!?! Everything is homemade and the staff was really friendly. The general store was beautiful and had a variety of items from jams to home decor. The cider house was really good and they give a great military discount. The winery, much too sweet for our liking, but worth looking around. Lastly, the ice cream....all homemade and so delicious. Try the Deep Dish Apple, you wont regret it!

We did not...I specifically ask the girl that waited on us if we had gotten the discount and she said yes. She lied. She said that the computer gives it but it does not. If they are telling you that you are getting it I assure you that you are not...If they dont want to give the discount then they need to take the sign down....

In walking distance was the Apple winery, Apple candy store, Apple creamery, Christmas store and Apple Barn which is three stories high. The Apple Barn has a restaurant too. I would like to go back again and try this restaurant as well. I would recommend going fun for all ages. The trolley goes there and I didnt realize this when we decided to go so just another bonus.

This is the third stop for us on the wine trail. We are members of the wine club so we get to try all the wines on the list. We also make our own wine and like to find a flavor that we like to try and duplicate, so ALL wineries will get a minimum of 4 stars from me. They have dry, semi sweet, sweet, and a frozen mix to choose from. I think they can only let you have 6 samples per person so choose your samples based on your pallet preference. Im not an apple wine guy but my wife likes the apple flavor. So stop by and try them for yourself. They also have some neat items for sale in there store so check them out.I always buy empty bottles here that I use when I bottle my homemade wine. I usually buy 10-20 cases and they will roll them to your vehicle and assist with the loading. Very nice and helpful people working here.Dont forget to get your Trail Card stamped. Better yet dont forget the card on the counter when you leave.Once we leave here we head to Mountain Valley Winery.

The absolute worst hospitality at a winery since participating in the wine trail. The woman that assisted us with our wine selection had to have been a manager as she was asked for keys that she had around her arm. I was deciding on what type of wine (I have bought no less than 3 bottles per winery) & I picked a strawberry wine & then she rudely asked if the strawberry would be it as to hurry me up with my selection & I replied that it would be it I guess. I have never been treated with such contempt & disrespect from a merchant & although the wine is great ... it is not worth the awful attitudes you endure to buy them. As much as I love wine, I’m recommending they be taken off the wine trail as I see her “hospitality” was her usual attitude toward everyone.
