If your giving my review a read then Ill consider myself lucky. As you can see with its already 1000s of reviews, mine is right up there with them. Today is the first day weve been here and we love it. It is November and all the outdoor pools and slides are closed. But the inside is no joke. Inside there is plenty of room for people. With arcades, dining places, and many options at the pools. Youll love this family getaway. I can only imagine how much more fun this is when its all open during spring and summer. Unfortunately we arent staying long this time, but we can certainly say we will next time. Thanks

Even though its posted to wear masks they are NOT enforcing it. We were there for a couple of days and I was shocked at how parents have seemed to be totally shell shocked or something and let their kids run around unsupervised like little animals. People yelling, running down the hallways until well past midnight each night. Weve been here before and have had much better experiences. When I expressed concern I was pretty much told ohh well.

Totally worth every penny spent on this hotel. You have tons of entertainment within the hotel. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. Their staff is friendly and courteous. The view to the mountains is priceless. They offer a shuttle to take you to the indoor water park every ten minutes. Kids eat free breakfast at the hotels restaurant. The location is great, its on the main road that takes you to all famous attractions in the smoky mountains (You need a car to get there). Id love to visit this hotel in summer time to use the outdoor water parks. I highly recommend this place to any family with children of all ages.

Booked online, straightforward process (but no Military/Veterans discount, if that is a consideration). We arrived circa 9:00 pm on 6 Nov 2020. Check-in lines were long, but bearable (there could have been more staff, since there were several vacant stations at the desk). Masks required for service. Staff pitched an extended pass to the water slides (from 10:00 to 11:00 pm) at $25 per night per room. Heading to the room, we were greeted by an industrial compressor of some sort droning away just outside our building (we could hear it from our room, but not too loud). Luggage carts were plentiful, but almost too large to fit in the smallish elevators. The room was small, and had too much furniture, making it feel even smaller. The room, etc. seemed to be clean and in reasonably good repair, but far from new. Shortly after our arrival, the fire alarm sounded, requiring a total evacuation of the facility -- including our two teenagers wearing only swimwear -- into the parking lot --- where we shivered away for an hour or more without any explanation (during or after) as to the cause of the alarm. Maybe not the hotels fault, but they could have informed us via email as to the issue. The HVAC unit was noisy compared to most. Our room had two queen beds with a bunk twin above one. Unlike any other hotel Ive ever stayed in, the bed frames protruded out from the mattresses, and the cramped spaces meant that we were constantly banging our shins on the frames (not cool!). The beds were hard and not very comfortable. The pillows were poor. The bathroom (tub/shower and commode) was barely large enough for the door to swing past the toilet. The tub was narrower and shorter than a standard tub, and the water flow from the shower head was poor. Supposedly due to Covid, there was no housekeeping unless you asked for it (we were there two days, and ran out of towels, so had to go down to the desk to get more). The building is constructed such that noise seems to carry more than most, particularly from the floor(s) above, which would be a major issue for a light sleeper. At peak times, the lines to get into Starbucks, restaurants, etc. were longer than we wanted to deal with, so we did without, and/or went off-site. The teenagers loved the water park, and had a great time. All in all, given this is a hotel clearly focused on being a support facility for the water park, our experience was good, but not great. I had hoped for more from $200.00+ per night.

Such an awesome place to stay when you have a large family! The indoor waterpark offered hours of entertainment for the kids as did the arcade! The room we stood in was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was good as it was close enough to local attractions but far enough away that you werent swamped with traffic which was really nice. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling with (I have 4).

It was a decent place. Clean but a little worn around the edges. For the price you pay for a room, there should AT LEAST be a free breakfast included in the price. Also lower the price of drinks! 3 dollars for a bottle of water! Ridiculous! The best part of our stay was the free passes to the Soaky Mountain waterpark. Lots of fun. Staff at Wilderness were extremely nice and helpful though so points for that!

Not covid-19 safe as described on website. Places were crowded and very few people wearing masks and no suggestion or reinforcement of social distancing. Rarely did I see anyone wearing a mask on the one day we decided to visit the water park. Signs up but nothing being enforced. Trash was full when we got to our rooms which makes me question cleaning and sanitation. Employees not overly friendly and service in restaurants non existent unless you go up and ask someone to help you even if they can clearly see you waiting to be helped. Hand sanitizers on walls are empty. Our family has decided to do activities outside the resort. I would not recommend or stay here again.

The rooms were normal, nothing exciting or great. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room was clean. The only issue we had with the room was there wasnt enough light, but it was a log cabin setting so we managed! It was in October, so the outdoor pool was closed. The indoor water park was open and it was great! Our favorite areas were the wade pool and the outdoor hot tub area! We didnt do any of the slides because our children were to small. The only issue we had with the water park was the life guards. There were some life guards who seemed to be oblivious to anything going on in the water park area. There were several teenagers throwing a football in the wade pool and was throwing the ball across the wade pool. Children were actually getting out of the wade pool because they were afraid of getting hit.My youngest son got hit in the face with the football and when we told the lifeguard about it (who was watching all this go on), kept looking at my husband in a dazed look and kept saying huh. When my husband told him about the teenagers throwing the football, he proceeds to tell my husband the Wilderness allows this. When my husband asked him if the Wilderness allows young children to be hit and to scared to get into the wade pool, the lifeguard finally contacts the managing lifeguard who tells the teenage boys to not throw the ball.Overall we had a great stay. Our children had fun and the location was great because you dodge the traffic going into Pigeon Forge.

This is our favorite place to visit each year. We love everything about our experience. There is so much to do here and nearly never enough time to enjoy it all, which is why we keep returning. However, the only negatives are the beds are super hard and uncomfortable, and this year the chlorine was so incredibly high in the water park that it was burning our eyes just from sitting near the pool/slides. It also made us all feel sick when we left.

This place ultimately made our families top 5 vacation spots taken. Niagara falls (Canada side) is still #1! Both waterparks were amazing, the arcade room isnt just for kids, the food was great, the staff constantly cleaning, polite, and hospitable. We were there for 4 days and still left realizing we forgot to do several things the resort offered. My biggest complaint, the bars, which set their own prices on drinks? My wife always paid less than I did when ordering the same 2 drinks for us and several of the bar tenders were more worried about getting a tip every trip than actually billing it to the room as requested. Overall though, great location, great vacation

Over all it was a fun place! The lodging itself is not the cleanest. Lots of dust and dirt. The water park area is very fun! Seems over all clean too. One problem I had was the life guards changing rule on what my child was allowed to do from day to day. One day I could go down the slide with her another I couldnt one day she could go down the slide by herself and another day she wasnt allowed. Since the rules are so stringent on little ones I would suggest adding more stuff for children who are under 36 inches. Children who are almost there and love to slide have very little to do. Over all we would return, but not for the hotel or service, only based on the water park. Especially when our kids are older.(Pictures of the grimy sink, and our fold out bed had jelly beans and dirt in it. There was balls of hair on the floor and thick layers of dust on top of the fridge. )

This is the BEST family vacation we’ve been on! First time at Wilderness and we just got home yesterday & we’re looking toward our next trip! We stayed 5 days and spent every day at Wilderness and the sister waterpark, Soaky Mountain. The kids did NOT want to leave! My favorite was Polka Dot Pots. You paint pottery and they seal it to make it last decades!! We now have hand painted memories to save for a lifetime! And kids grow up so fast, I’m SO HAPPY that we had the opportunity to get the kids’ handprints on a bowl also! Now I can always look back and remember how little they were on our 2020 Wilderness trip! The only negative I would say, is that through the whole 5 days we never got fresh towels, or trash bags or toilet paper. Luckily Mom thinks of everything and we had some.Overall though, it was a trip that made more memories than we’ve ever made at Myrtle Beach (where we normally go every year) but this was something different (and LESS CROWDED which was awesome Bc of COVID-19). Wilderness follows all the guidelines of Tennessee and requires adults (or kids over 13) to wear masks & stay 6ft apart while in line at the stores.I really just can’t say enough great things about this place. Dad and I are already planning the next trip :)

I tried to call back with an update once we got home and they will not answer the phone or return any of my calls. I would not recommend this place at all. I called the health department out and they failed food inspection at ALL of their restaurants and had one day to correct it so they did not get shut down. I have records from the health department showing this. You would think a company that wants to keep up their reputation would call back before a lawyer gets involved. Very unprofessional.

None of the facilities are open, even though we called prior to booking and was told everything was in order.I guess its an OK place if you are bringing young kids and want to pay a buttload of of money for basically a glorified sprinkler park. The place rolls up the sidewalks at a whopping 8pm. There is not even an adult pool or hotub thats open for adults to relax at.And apparently its ok for me to spend 13 dollars on a drink at the pool bar that comes in a plastic cup but I cant have that drink sit next to me while Im in the hotub or the little pool they have.Absolutely ridiculous, waste of a weeks vacation for me and the family. The rooms are nice though, which is good because thats where we ended up spending most of our time.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in 3 months. Both experiences were basically the same. The rooms were clean and nice. We chose the 2 double queen beds with a balcony. The room had a small 2 seater table, a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, one arm lounge chair. They give you the mini shampoo & conditioners and a bar of bath soap. Bathroom light is not very bright, there is one light with a fan. It is very dim, but the shower head is great and has good power. Both times it always hot water even after 3 showers and a bath. The pillows are not fluffy, they are flat if you lay on just one. The beds are okay, of course it is nothing like your bed at home. Although, they do sleep okay. Great clear HD LG TV. They actually have a guide on them so you can see what shows are on. Since COVID and the mask mandate, everyone wears a mask when checking in and when walking around the hallways, also in the arcade. You do not have to wear them in the waterpark. The outside waterparks are closed for the season but they are letting you go to Soaky Mountain for free right now. The parking pass for the hotel lets you park at Soaky Mountain for free (otherwise it would be $15 to park at Soaky). If you dont want to drive to Soaky they have a bus that takes you across the street. The bus also takes you to the main building with the water park, and also to stone hill lodge. We also recieved a $50 free arcade pass the 2nd time we stayed and they told us to use it in the mornings from 8:30- 10:00 the arcade credits are half price. So we were able to play double the amount of games! (SCORE!) We did stay during the week on a Thursday so that may be only a weekday thing. Overall both stays were great and we will definitely be coming back!! My kiddos both 8 and 1 1/2 loved the waterpark and the experience!

We checked in and got to our room and there was dried up food & stains on our bed. I called and asked for new sheets and we got our sheets dropped off to us in a trash bag outside of our door. The next morning we went to shower and realized that our shower curtain was ripped and just barely hanging on and so I called again to have it replaced. The housekeeping staff said there were stains on the bed because the room is too dark they couldn’t see the stains. After making the bed the lady asked “Is that good enough for you now?” rudely. I’ve stayed in $70 rooms cleaner and with better hospitality than this one. The chairs looked like someone had spilt milk and left it there to dry. I think during a pandemic the hotel should be cleaning the rooms and replacing the linens between every guest. I will not be staying here again. VERY disappointing.*EDIT: They called me and handling this situation and made everything right! This was very helpful!

If I could rate this place at a 0 then I would. I have never been so disappointed in a place to stay in my life. We came down to stay for a Baseball tournament at Pigeon Forge Cal Ripken Experience. On the first night of our stay the sink outside of the bathroom started gurgling at 4am. Roughly around 9am in the morning my kids woke up to use the restroom and flushed the toilet and the sink that was gurgling sprayed black debris out of the sink all over my sister hitting her in the face and all over her clothes. The following morning my sister woke up with her eye itching and red all over! I then told my kids to not flush the toilet anymore until I get someone to come check it out. We were on a pretty tight agenda due to our tournament times so I had to hurry and jump into the shower. Right before I jumped into the shower I heard water hitting the floor and looked down at my feet. The toilet was over flowing onto my feet and onto my clothes. I was furious. I called front desk and got someone to come up. Maintenance came up fixed the toilet and housekeeping came up to clean. They took my dirty towels out of the floor, wiped up the mess and then failed to even CLEAN the floor. No mopping, No disinfectant. The following morning I got up to shave my face in the other sink just to be safe and I be DANGED if that sink didnt stop up. It took 10 mins for the water to go down. I contacted front desk and asked for a supervisor to call me. They said they would call me right away. I heard nothing until I contacted them back the next day. The resort manager refunded my money for 1 night and forwarded me to the board of directors to talk to them. The board of directors said one nights stay being refunded was more than fair. WHAT INDIVIDUALS THINK THAT STANDING IN TOILET WATER AND HAVING GOD KNOWS WHAT THROWN OUT OF THE SINK ON SOMEONES FACE IS WORTH $250. I will never stay here again. I will never tell anyone about this place and I will tell all of my baseball families to stay away. ITS SAD THAT COMPANIES CARE ABOUT MONEY MORE THAN THEY CARE ABOUT 1 FAMILIES STAY.7048130607Jon

Our stay was overall amazing except the fact that there was dry blood on our sheet in the bed (wasn’t ours) but we didn’t find out until the end of our stay. Other than that, the hotel rooms were absolutely amazing, the balcony with a pretty view of the mountains really kept me at peace. Our room came with a bunch of kitchen utensils, a fridge, microwave, dish washer, oven, and so on. We had a washer & dryer that really helped us not go looking for an over expensive laundromat. Our living room, bedroom, bathroom, and spa area really complete the comfort stay. The best part of this place is the water parks! Me and my family only left twice out of the four night stay to go do something different and we happened to always be at the water park! The staff was amazing, they were overall very friendly but what I really noticed was they were doing their job amazingly! I never once saw a life guard not looking back and forth, up and down on the pools. I definitely will be coming back!

Stayed the week prior to Labor day. Very croweded for COVID times. I assumed they would have limited number of guess, but they were definitely close to full capacity. Walls were super thin. Heard everything from the sourunding rooms including the rooms above us. Checked out a day early. They said they would issues refund later that day and never did. We also forgot two high end pillows. We called into the resort and could only contact the call center. They would not allow us to speak to the actual resort staff. Instead we were giving a Voice-mail. My wife left two messages with no return call. Very poor customer service. We called back to the call center and they informed us that if they would of found our pillows,we would have received a call back. This is a real review. We stayed in room 12012. Hope since management does not care enough to check voice-mail tgat they will care to check their review. I am my disappointed about our pillows then I am about the 1 day refund!

Only staff we enjoyed was our waitress at hidden trail for Thanksgiving dinner and the shuttle drivers.Check in was non informational, never told about a parking pass, or that room service was not provided, no one told us we had to have reservations for Dinner service on Thanksgiving, was totally disrespected by guest services manager after being denied Thanksgiving dinner. Drunks and underage teens cussing drinking and unsupervised at pool, on shuttles, and in halls of both buildings. I was so embarrased. Not a way to spend what could be your last holiday with family. $2500 and was disrespected by staff, turned away for dinner service on Thanksgiving, Breakfast was so bad and spent $40 couldnt dine a resturant in the hotel we paid to stay where kids are free so had to pay for god aweful today another building. Had to chase down staff everywhere to be assisted even when they were looking right at you waiting.Check in was non informational, never told about a parking pass, or that room service was not provided, no one told us we had to have reservations for Dinner service on Thanksgiving. Beds were terrible, noisy and sheets did not fit, kept popping off. Pillows were like 2 inches big. Stains on floors, and no lighting at all in room. Shower head pressure was aweful. And the faucet handle was so hard to turn I almost broke my arm trying to turn it on.Mostly the worst part was being treated like I was less important because my reservation was not in the main building. In the exact words of your staff when I complained about being turned away for Thanksgiving dinner at 6:35 when the restaurant was confirmed to stop serving at 10pm. oh your not even staying in this building like I was less important or my money wasnt equal to the reservations of the main lodge.Ive never experienced anything less of good service, especially on a holiday I was praying and being thankful my health had gotten me to this far with my husband and 8 year old daughter. Totally still in shock. Then had to call to get my check out receipt and was told she couldnt even find my reservation. Sure wish my Credit card could gear that now. I spent over $3000 on your resort for a less that mediocre experience.

Fun family trip if your kids will enjoy waterpark on the premises.Small customer service hiccup, but Kate Martin and Jessica Ryan did a great job at doing a make good, resolving the problem.Family of 5, had a great stay in a bunk room. Would recommend staying at River Lodge so you dont have to take the shuttle back and forth for indoor water park.Make sure your kiddos are at least 42 inches tall if theyll want to do all the tube waterslides

We normally take our children to Great Wolf Lodge, but decided to give Wilderness at the Smokies a shot.Things started off a little rocky from the beginning. After arriving in our room, all looked good. The room has a lodge feel and smell to it. The furniture is made to look rustic. There is a kitchenette with a stovetop. The room seemed nice and clean, but smaller than Great Wolf. The indoor water park was nicer than Great Wolf. The first thing I did was to turn in the sir conditioning. Isuue number one. The A/C wouldn’t turn on. Second issue was that the toilet paper holder was ripped from the wall and laying in the floor. I immediately called the front desk and they offered to move us. This time we moved from the second floor to the fist. All seemed good in the new room for a little while. The first issue was found when my small children went to take a bath and the tub stopper didn’t close. We dealt with it until maintenance came the next day. The major issue was the three roaches that we had in our room. I spoke to the front desk manager and she offered to move us again, but we didn’t want to move again. It’s easier to move our military into a country than us moving everything to another room. The front desk manager apologized and gave us a discount on on nights stay.Needless to say, I’m not impressed.

This was the best vacation I have ever been on. I struggle with anxiety, especially around water so I dreaded coming until I got here. Room was more than adequate and we left the bed down the whole time. I also enjoyed painting a piece of pottery at the hotel. But what made it great was how safe I felt with my 3 year old at the water parks. The lifeguard team was super diligent. The even have test victims to keep them on their toes. He loved the kiddie slides and splashing around. The joy on his face was priceless and I left relaxed which is odd for me on a water vacation. Already booked our next trip.

I hope when you are reading the reviews for this place, you see that my wedding rings went missing from my room at the lodge a week ago, and not one person from corporate or the lodge has made this right nor have they reached out to help me! This is unacceptable!!!**it has been 3 days since I sent an email to the director and Ive yet to get a response**My wedding rings went missing from my room during our stay and their security was extremely rude, condescending and not helpful at all!! The housekeeping staff was great! Got very little help or compassion from the front desk. I would love someone from upper management or the owner of the resort to contact me immediately. Unfortunately, I hate to air all this here, but this was the only place I thought someone might take me seriously. This was from a recent stay of Aug. 5 2020. It would be helpful if you could send me a contact name, number and email of whom I could get to handle this for me. Thank you!

What an absolute BLAST! As lovely as the surrounding area is, there was so much to do here that we never even left. The staff were wonderful and the food was reasonably priced and yummy! 2 outdoor water parks and one indoor water park. There is a free shuttle bus that runs every 10 minutes to each one so you never have to drive! We took our daughters 8 & 2. They had so much fun, as did we. We will definitely be back!! We stayed a couple night from May 31st through June 1st. The resort had only just reopened a few days early after being closed for Covid 19. The value is definitely worth the price. The River Lodge 2 queen room with bunk bed was large enough for four adults and a teenager. If your looking for spa like amenities this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a clean room and an amazing water park with something for the whole family you have found the right place. We had a couple issues with getting towels exchanged. We called in the evening to get a towel exchange since they are not doing daily room refreshes and the towels were never delivered we had to use the beach towels we had brought from home.. Hopefully this was just some Covid 19 procedural issues they are working on.

Was not impressed with this resort. The room was very dark with only a pull down bed and a sofa sleeper. It was the worst 2 nights of sleep ever!! Not only was the room unappealing, the resort itself was dirty overall. I never saw anyone doing any cleaning of anything the during our stay. You would think it would be overkill of cleanliness during a pandemic but it was just the opposite. I had to call to get clean towels because they said during the pandemic they don’t clean or stock the resort rooms. An hour later after the request, I had to call again to ask if the towels were coming and they said they would remind the laundry again. I got some towels within 2 hours of calling. Totally unacceptable for what we paid to stay here. The food at the resort was mediocre at best. We left the resort to eat after our first couple meals there. Overall I would not recommend this resort and I will never return.

We just left today. We were at River Lodge where two water parks and most of the attractions are. I do wish that I paid extra for the adjacent room but it sufficed. I loved that I could hear the music on the balcony and the pool view is beautiful at night. We never made it to the 2nd out door water park. Housekeeping was nice, check in was friendly, most of the water park staff are teens so...you know how it is... Flip a coin on friendly or attitude lol. The adult staff were all nice especially the guy at the top of the outdoor water slide at river lodge. The mattress I slept on made me take a star away. Could be worse but could be way better. Especially when you are running around w kids all day a goodnight sleep is a must. But a trip to the Tennessee Legend Distillery helped make up for it. But again the water parks we went to were fun. We were there 3 days 2 nights and it wasn’t enough time to do everything especially when you don’t want to leave the lazy river. I definitely recommend going and experiencing it.
