I recommend starting at 6am to beat the heat and the crowds. Its a popular hike and when we headed back around 9, there were lots of groups arriving and the ground was already getting a bit too hot for our dogs. Overall, its a short and easy scenic hike with fun swimming holes at the end.

Seriously amazing experience !! We started hiking at the hottest point of the day so it took us a good two hours to get up to the top. Was just too hot to go too fast. Lots of breaks under the shaded tree areas to drink water. Once to the top the view and the experience is one of the best. I jumped from the high points and the water was so clear and felt amazing after the hike. We hiked down around 5 and took us an hour to get back to the parking lot. Could literally go in the morning and spend all day in the water. Kid friendly and a ton of fun !!! If you’re in Sedona do this hike!!!! Was busy at first but cleared up really quick and we went on a Saturday. Even busy it was so much fun! Everyone cheers people on and watching others overcome their fear of jumping is awesome. Great people watching for sure !

Great loop trail option with nice gentle elevation changes, if you aren’t much of a hiker or have small children this would be my suggestion in the area.

Great trail without much elevation change. Goes around Courthouse. Lots of nice scenery and you can (optionally) climb Bell Rock.

Way too hot, even in late September. Ive only been hear once, but I were to return I would do the path and not the loops around the buttes. The views are nice, but they dont get better as you go around the bell and cathedral rocks.

The scenery in Sedona is so varied between the upper canyon and this area that it is fascinating. There are several hikes here according to your desire for distance and exertion. We especially like going in the spring when we see the wild flowers. Suggest you wear a hat because some areas do not have much shade. Of course this makes it perfect for cooler months.

This is my favorite trail in Sedona (though Ive only been on a few). You can wonder off-trail and get some amazing views away from any people - just try not to get lost (use the bell as a reference point for where you are)!
