Love love LOVE the views at the Courthouse Vista! It has such a stunning view of Sedona. My one and only complaint is how hard it is to find parking simply because everyone wants to enjoy this tourist destination in Sedona.
Great hike. If you’re like me, you prefer activities that aren’t too crowded and off the beaten path. However, this is a popular hike worth doing despite it being something many people do. We went with our young kids, and had a great time. Hiked the big loop around Courthouse Rock, then ended up at Bell Rock, where we scrambled up the slick rock for some of the most amazing views I’ve seen in awhile. We picnicked along the way, and enjoyed the scenery. With the scrambling up Bell Rock, our total mileage was 4.99. It took us about 3 hours, but we were going at a leisurely pace. Vistas are around every corner, and you cross several arroyos, which at this time of year (March) had small pools of cool water. The red rock and soil is such a sight, and we enjoyed seeing yucca, agave, piñon pine, juniper, hedgehog cactus, and an abundance of small dessert flowers in bloom. I absolutely loved this hike, and am very happy we did it.
Great trails here and if your a photographer this is one of the places you need to go. Take the Bell Rock Climb trail and you can get high up on to Bell Rock and get an unobstructed view of the valley, the climb takes around an hour from the parking lot and is well worth it. If you plan to hike this hiking boots are highly recommended, the trail up can be extremely rocky and can be challenging at times. I would not recommend trying this one after a rain, it would be extremely slippery. Photo below
We hiked around the area one day and road our mountain bikes in the area the next day. Most of the trails were pretty easy and pretty rocky, but there were a few tough places. The trails were not laid out for mountain bikes. We road the entire system in one afternoon. Definitely worth it. especially in the spring when everything is green and the weather is cool.
Honestly, theres nothing not to love if youre a hiker who wants to experience being in the midst of the Sedona Vortex. I loved the experience!!
You cant go wrong in the red Rock area!
Wow!!! This place was awesome pretty easy hike. Bit when I went it was 100+ degrees bring lots of water
We had the great fortune of visiting Sedona during a snow storm. The roads were shut down and there was no way to get around other than on foot. Snow on the red rocks is an almost other worldly sight. Five inches of snow paralysed traffic, but well never forget the experience and the camaraderie with all of the other stranded travellers.
Very nice place to visit and Enjoy the Gorgeous Mountains
Awesome hike! This was our favorite hike of our trip to Sedona.
Amazing! Must see!Devils bridge is just around the corner
Great spot to do some hiking and check out Sedona
Great stopping point coming North into Sedona. Bathroom, parking, and trailhead. Get busy on Holiday weekends.
Great hike.
Very cool spot, dont pass it by!
Had a great time with family. One of the many must visit places around Sedona, AZ.
Stunning area to hike.
A good place to launch if you’re going to hike the north side of Bell Rock or Llama. It’s packed by 10:30, so get there early.
Gorgeous hike and tons of amazing family photo ops Happy hiking . Get here early for parking
Great place to hike for all ages! Go for sunsets and get great pictures there .
The photos speak for them selves.
Almost feel surreal in the sun.
Fabulous view
A great place to meditate. The views are spectacular. Nice breezes on a hot day made for a pleasant visit.
Easy trail and the most beautiful views that I have ever seen.
I love that place. Take the little trail to see more and enjoy the beautiful nature!
Amazing place to hike and easy to climb with a great view
So much natural beauty. If you think that is seeing it one time and its beautiful try seeing at different times of the day with different lighting. Extremely amazing
Not sure this Courthouse Vista, but it is Sedona or Slide Rock.
Sunset was an especially beautiful time to go.
A must visit if your in Sedona, Arizona. The view is amazing as you can see from the photo.
Breathtaking views to be had here. Pull over, let the kids out, and let yourself go for a bit. Get a selfie. Then, recall your visit with great joy. Make sure to stop here, it would be a pity to miss this.
Absolutely stunning.
A man came up to me randomly and asked me if I was his dad. Confused, I said yes. Ive been taking him to soccer practice ever since then. All of my furniture is missing and someone keeps using my credit cards... But having a son is a very fulfilling experience.
Great place for outdoor activities away from city life. Awesome views and great hiking trails. Loved it!
Courthouse Vista has some really cool terrain. Being so close to Bell Rock it also has a ridiculous energy. Its beautiful, a good hike that can be made longer by combining close trails making an awesome, meandering, empowering, scenic hike. Make sure you bring plenty of water if youre going to be out here longer than 15 minutes. But you might want to bring water anyways because time doesnt matter, or half make sense out here. Have fun, be safe & enjoy!
Perfect trailhead
Beautiful views and an excellent hike. Make sure you bring water and sunscreen. The parking lot also gets full fast so plan for other activities if you are unable to park.
You know this place has to be seen with your own eyes to be believed. Take the walk around the two butted and be amazed all the way around and the fresh air will do wonders for your soal.
I have done this hike in winter with snow cover and mid summer with temps well above high 90°s. Its always a great hike and amazing views. The parking is difficult but is always available if you just wait a few mins because most people are just there to take a few pictures and jump back in the car.
Nice views. Wish we had more time to do some hiking...
Well marked trails, great views of course. Parking will be a challenge on any half-way nice weekend, so get there early.
My favorite Sedona hike!
This area has some of the greatest red rock creations. You must take the time to stop and take in the splendor.
The view was amazing. Truly worth the trip. Arrive early as parking is limited.
Beautiful, obviously. If coming to Sedona, check out the chamber of commerce visitor information center. Were camping nearby and bought the $40 pass that gets us parking at many spots (sure it is good for a year, but beats $5+ every time). Also, they give good info on which trails are hard or easy.
And iconic location in Sedona. Absolutely gorgeous surroundings and a pretty easy and well-traveled trail. Great for adults and kids. Pretty big parking lot but this is a very popular hiking destination.
Park here to climb bell rock
Nice red rock formations and easy climb/hike.
Gorgeous!
This is the stop you have to make
A good trail access location for Bell Rock, the Bell Rock Pathway and Capital Butte Loop.
Great spot to experience everything Sedona has to offer. Easy access to trails, both short (to Bell Rock) or long (Llama, Slim Shady, Templeton, etc.) Good for hikers and bikers. Be ready to pay the day use fee via ATM / cash pay machine, or display your Red Rock Pass. Bathrooms. Parking lot fills up quickly during busy season.
Beautiful views and great spot for hiking
Great view point in the Sedona. It is very easy to access and The landscape is beautiful! The parking space is small though. The bushes and trees near the parking lot are growing taller. Sometimes, they may block your view. Best time to visit is late afternoon. Actually, it is great place for milk way night photography too.
This Vista offers some of the best views in Arizona IMO. Truly a great hike with amazing views. Parking can be tough here even on a low traffic day, so be prepared to wait for a spot to open up. Hiking is good for even novice hikers. Highly recommend.
This trail was doable in my busted up conditon from a crash. Still an enjoyable ride with awesome scenery. Just not strenuous.
Loved the hike. Fun climbing on the rocks. Easy skill level.
Good moderate intensity hike..better on a morning or evening rather than mid day.
Beautiful! A view definitely worth the pictures and postcards that are made of it.
Beautiful stop on our road trip
Great place to hike
Beautiful
Gorgeous views with easy trails. Decent amount of parking compared to other spots on the drive.
Very few places hold the magic these red rocks and the vortices can have on your emotions! Fantastic!!
The View from there was great
Gorgeous, plus a vortex or 2! Hiking galore
This area remains beautiful despite the over development which continues in and around the Sedona area. Many hiking trails throughout. Trails for beginners as well as expert hikers. Mountain and rock climbing paradise. Preferred time would be fall and spring as this area reaches to over 100 degrees in the summer months. Winter can be cold but not daily.
Beauty cannot be explained awesome and well maintained place
It was nice and not crowded at all. Great place for kids and family to start hiking in Sedona.
Amazing new of the valley to the north. Get there early as this is a very popular hiking/biking location. Spend a few hours to hike up the side of bell rock for an amazing view.
Gods country. The most beautiful place in the United States!
Well worth the trip
Beautiful place, especially just before sunset!
Unreal place. Must see
One of the most beautiful areas Ive ever hiked in. Parki g is a pain, but its worth waiting around to find a spot
Stunning views!
Moderate difficulty with some loose rocks and minor climbing. Great views from a lower vantage point looking up. We went counterclockwise on the loop.
A must see lots of trails and family fun
