A nice gift shop and snack bar. The shop is well stocked with a variety of items. Some of the prices are a bit high but that is expected. The snack bar has a good variety of unique foods and treats. Alligator bites and stew are on the menu. Some picnic benches are outside on the deck for dining. The establishment is high up on stilts requiring a stair or ramp climb. The only complaint is that the air conditioning didnt seem to be working.
Great place! Love the Cafe, great gift shop and good food including alligator soup and Hersheys ice cream. Beautiful lake views and shady spots to sit and enjoy.
We didnt get to do much, bc it started raining about 20 mind after we got there. But every single person who worked there that we came in contact with was super friendly!, we would go back based on that alone! We plan to return to go on the boat and tram tour and also to check out the bridge
Had a fantastic afternoon in this state park. The walks are beautiful and fairly easy to complete. The wildlife - especially birds - this time of year was fastatsic. Alligators were sunning themselves being majestic. A great way to spend a day in the sun. One specific suggestion... Please make sure to take the time to walk the canopy walk. Being above the trees is fairly amazing.
Actually Myakka State Park. Natural Florida park has a nice scenic drive and great hiking trails.
Loved our stay at this Park. One of the best birding locations we have ever visited. Lots of alligators and other wildlife to watch as well. Beautiful setting with a large variety of hiking trails and observation areas including the birdwalk and canopy walk. The tram tour was a great way to get introduced to the park. I suspect we will return to this location more than once.
Amazing place,,, The gift shop has a large variety of beautiful items, The pink gator cafe has great food. The Gator Stew and Gumbo are a must try. And dont forget to try the Gator bites. Yummy Yummy.. And the staff is a group of awesome people... Myakka River State Park is definitely a place to go to for a relaxing time.
I went here for my Paws for the Planet club school trip to explore nature and crocodiles :) it’s a really cool experience to me! The Boat Tour was amazing (it’s cold so bring your sweater with). Sadly, i couldn’t see many crocodiles since it was a windy day and they didn’t like wind, in which they prefered to stay under the water more than crawling on the land! We also went for the hiking and saw awesome views!
Beautiful scenery! Great place to connect with nature.
Great place for camping. Nice walking trails and a lot of wildlife.
Beautiful scenic views. Coreopsis in bloom ... Floridas official wildflower.
Camping trip was great. Very clean and pleanty to see and do.
Self drive through bird watching. Campgrounds everywhere. Airboat your. Saw a gator right on the road. $6/car to enter. Friendly staff.
So glad we had a chance to do this. Definitely take the air boat ride to see some alligators and make sure and stop at the suspension bridge. Really cool place
Great park to see wildlife, beautiful canopy road and miles of driving through the most beautiful state park. Or get out and hike the many trails.
Saw some huge alligators; saw 3 bald eagles fishing; went on a few hikes; had a peaceful and relaxing time! And, the rangers were all extremely helpful, accommodating, and kind! Overall, it was a great, easy getaway!
Beautiful and clean park for a daytrip or a weekend camping. Lots of trials to explore. One of our favorite is the hanging bridge as well as watching the large alligators on the riverbanks of Myakka. This park always reminds of me of a rainforest with its lush vegetation. Absolutely breathtaking. I suggest Myakka for the cooler months for hiking as well as bringing a bicycle to cover as much ground as possible. From wading birds to birds of prey, from majestic oaks to an ocean of wildflowers, theres many many faces of Myakka River State park to explore for young and old. Beautiful Park!! Would recommend everyone to stop by.
Daniel at Myakka Outpost was amazing 10 out of 10 highly recommend excellent service knew everything about the area and what was his recommendations will be back again
Was very fun and u learn alot. Will come back next time we are in town
Great place to spend the day or weekend. They have boat and tram tours, and a little cafe for quick bites. Bring proper footwear if you are going to hike the trails! The wildlife is spectacular.
Beautiful nature reserve. Pontoon boat very popular. We didnt get on even though we arrived an hour ahead. Nice trails, but trails are short for serious hikers. And there are not enough of them. Some folks bike the road, which is too narrow to share with pedestrians.Great place to observe alligators, birds and Florida in nature. Climb the tower to get a view of the flat Florida landscape.
Really cool place! Try the Gater nuggets
Always a pleasurable experience. Have gone to and camped at Myakka many times. They take great care of the park! There is stuff to do but I really wish there was more! I could just be getting bored with it too. Do go though, its worth it!
Great boat tour and land tour. The gift shop was one of the best Ive been to in years. A lot of inventory with various price ranges. The snack bar was putting out some good smelling food. Wondering if the gators could smell those burgers cooking. Will return to do some bike riding and maybe some kayaking!
Great place to spend some time with nature
Great place to go the water was up from resent rains so certain spots were wet but u can walk the high spots to get to the cat walk top is closed for now and the bird sanctuary is closed due to flooding
Wonderful place to spend a day exploring the park on many great walk ways and paths. Lots of picnic areas available.
It’s a cute one and done. The suspension bridge is cute.
The boat and tram tours were great, I learned a lot about what it took for a pioneer to survive this area, and about conservation. And I saw some BIIIIG alligators.
Only saw a handful of Gators today but captain Jamie was fun and was full of information!!
What a beautiful place
Biggest state park in Florida. Good alligator tour boats. The tree canopy walk is outstanding.Fair food.DONT MISS IT!
Big gators, great camping & fishing.Well-run, not overrun state park. Very close to Sarasota & Bradenton.Been going there nearly 30 years. Still love it.Want to see big gators? Youll have to close your eyes not to see them here!Canoe/kayak rentals are reasonable & fun for paddling around or fishing Myakka Lake.Rustic old-Florida cabins with wood floors & stone fireplaces are cheap! Just reserve ahead.Campgrounds are dry & convenient. Facilities excellent.Camping is as convenient or rustic as you like.Incredible variety of Florida wildlife, from wild boar to water birds to elusive Florida Panthers.
Had a great visit to the Myakka River Park. Walking through the canopy set up was great for some amazing views of the surrounding area. Saw many alligators just a stones throw away at the bridge location. The gift shop served up great alligator stew and seafood gumbo and had a great selection of merchandise. Many different trails, camping, and a boat tour was available. This was a great outdoor experience in the southwest Florida area.
Family tradition: we visit several times a year; so much to see, hike, great pictures, gators, deer, snakes, tree frogs, birds, pigs, lots of other four legged creatures. Beautiful sunsets, boat rides and rentals. LOVE IT!!!
Great camping, beautiful trails and dog friendly!
If you’re in Sarasota Fl you must visit. Beautifully maintain park. We leave near and we visit very often. Don’t forget your camera.
Best way to see alligators in Fl.
Great way to spend a half a day with the family
Fabulous place to see gators and birds.
Great spot to put in your kayak and lots of gators to see in the lake. Just be safe and keep your distance. On windy days, can be rough for casual kayaking.
Seeing the alligators was great
What you are going to see depends a lot on whether. Too hot or too windy and the alligators tend to stay submerged. When the whether is right this is a great place to visit.
From the treetop observation deck, to the airboat ride, to the bird watch promenade it is a lesson in nature and all the amazing creatures native to this area. There are places to picnic, places to camp, and bicycles to ride. It is a perfect destination for a day trip, whether with a family or just a best friend.
Always a great place to take family and friends. Wildlife is awesome!!!
Fun with family.
Great time. The guide on the boat did a great job. He said the best time of year to see Gators is between Nov - Mar when the weather is cooler and the Gators come out of the water to stay warm.
Big park nice hiking and kayaking
Great hiking and camping.
Having lived in Florida many years, it was beautiful and interesting, Gators, Great Blue Herons, Great white Egret, Roseate Spoonbills, Limpkens, many other Wildlife.
Very nice facility, very informative, reasonably priced. But who would ever guess that a State Park snack bar would have such well-prepared food? Aces all around, and my compliments to the kitchen staff. If I lived closer, and there was no six-dollar entrance fee, Id eat here on a regular basis.
The fishing has been totally destroyed by tilapia. Its not the fishing hole it used to be.
Outstanding Florida park. Well worth seeing.
This is a beautiful State Park and a great place to visit especially for out of state folks. Take the boat ride for sure. Our boat Capt/guide gave a great presentation. The tower and elevated walk is worth the steps! Bring food or be prepared to pay and wait in line at the snack bar... only negative.
Great place for seeing Florida wildlife especially alligators. Good rides on airboats and truck driven trains. Friendly helpful rangers. We visit whenever in the area.
Had fun with my family here great place
Great for hiking and nature trails!
I used to come to this park about 20ish years ago when I would sometimes work in the area. Had the chance to visit again recently and I think its gotten bigger! We didnt have a lot of time to spend but I enjoyed driving around, seeing the alligators in the lake, and visiting the canopy walkway. The outpost looked well-stocked (though the bikes didnt appear to be in the best shape). Id like to come back and camp and really take time to explore. Seems like theres a lot to do.
Fun once but that is about it.
Priceless,no one should miss it
Boat ride is way over priced. Just a pontoon boat with outboard engines that for a bit where doing nothing but pushing mud. At one point I am 99% sure we hit a gator with the pontoon and then the propeller. The whole boat lifted up and then the engine shook violently. The captain and his mate looked pretty freaked out.
Fantastic park to get a feel for wild Florida. We loved seeing the gators and all of the wildlife around the lake. Wish we had been there in time for the boat tour!
Beautiful place. First time I ever got to see an aligator in the wild. Didnt get close though.
Good place for a quick visit.
It was fantastic! A beautiful experience. Only saw one gator though.
Flooded up to rosd. Lots of gators!
Great place must visit
Great tour by boat over the lake. Unfortunately we did not see many alligators. Nonetheless it was a nice experience. We did also an airboat trip in the everglades. This is a much nicer trip in my opinion.
Great experience. Wind boats are not as expected. Plenty of wild life.
Only spent a short time today but it will not be the last visit.
Best state park in,Sarasota bradenton venice. Tampa,st Pete overall. Allows camping in,both tents, and campers. Tons of trails and wildlife. A super fun park.
Great snack/sandwich bar. Love the gift shop. Alligator sightings thrill
Nature at its best. We went on the airboat ride it was educational and fun. Seen many alligators and wild birds.also walked the bridge and tower
Great place to see gators and do some hiking.
Dont miss this gem. Almost had a crane eating out of my hand at the waters edge. Loved our time here. :) ♡♡♡
Gators, deer, wild turkeys, bald eagles, white pelicans, herons, spoon bills, egrets, limpkins, wood storks, etc. Great gift shop and restaurant. Have a cold one on tap. One of our favorite places.
The gift shop was a little overdone; some of your typical trinkets could easily be done away with to open up the internal space. There was plenty of seating outside and our food was well prepared, despite the wait.
Greatest time of my life.
Great natural habitat. Our family loved the fanboat tour.
Its a great place for day tourists...great view of lake, boat rides, canoe rentals, lunch counter and souvenirs. But if your camping at the camp ground, dont count on them to have a lot of camping supplies if youve forgotten something...or in our case....something gets soaking wet from rain.
Great place to purchase souvenirs, campgrounds fire starters soaked in parafin wax (they actually work pretty well)The canoe rentals are available here. They also need offer a land tour via an open air tram as well as a large fan boat on Myakka waters which is perfect to do.Great informative lil guided tours.
I love the out doorsness. Great boat ride too
I’m a regular at Myakka River state park which includes the pink gator cafe. Today I experienced something out of the norm at he CAFE ONLY and I will never ever go back! TERRIBLE customer service. RUDE and downright unhelpful lady who called herself the manager there and the staff beneath her. I’m not only speaking for an incident I had but another customer who was treated extremely poorly and almost made to cry by the staff there. Was literally SHOCKED at what I witnessed and encountered. I will not ever give them my business again nor will I recommend them!I hope the people in charge over there are reading this you rude ass, lack of customer service POS!
Beautiful park, close to Sarasota yet full of wildlife. Great trails and the treetop canopy walk has beautiful views. Tram and boat tours are available for an extra charge.
Beautiful scenery of Florida. Lots of Florida wildlife.
Good place to walk and ride bike.So much to see a lot of wildlife seen about 30 gators hogs and Turkeys in just a couple hrs of exploring
Saw an alligator, birds, fish, etc.....Definitely worth the $ for admission
Great visit, birthday party, local nature at its best.
Had an amazing time ! I strongly recommend visiting Myakka State Park if you enjoy nature !
Buzzards, deer, turtles, alligators, wild boar...tons of birds
