Walk past the playground in the rear of the park and take the Catfish Trail to the weir and find an island of wild old Florida in the midst of a sea of development.

A great park! Nice and clean, and very well kept. Extremely kid and dog friendly! Basketball courts, tennis courts and multiple playgrounds. Beautiful walking/biking trails. Arrangements with Sarasota County must be made if you would like to use the climbing wall or climbing obstacles (a number is on fence near wall).

Clean, several different areas for kids to play. The walking trails are great. Pet friendly. There is a homeless presence in the large shelter. Didnt bother me, but some might have reservations.

My toddler and my 9 year old both had a blast here. There is a pretty big play ground, a walking path (not a long one. The right length for kids ), basketball courts, grills. This really has become my go to park when my kids need to play off some energy

4 Basketball half courts are free to public. Come early to beat the heat. There is no shade to block full sun. Same with the tennis courts, although there are periods of shade due to the trees. Few are aware of the running/walking/mountain or hybrid bike path that winds through this park. Nice nature get away and appears safe when weve gone.

I love this place. It is my oasis for walking in a beautiful wooded area that is safe and serene. There is very large YMCA adjacent to the park that occasionally has loud events and takes up all the parking. So best to avoid when these are taking place.

Park has tennis and basketball courts, shaded playground, restrooms, walking trails and large field. Also home of Sarasota Sharks Swimming and water park at Selby Aquatics center. Only con... its a popular hangout for a few homeless and parts of the park are remote so just be aware if you decide to use trails. Everything else is by the parking lot in view of other visitors so it is very safe.

Nice park in Sarasota. Lots of different play equipment. My kids love things that spin and this park has a few options. They also love the tire swing.

Review №24

I go here frequently on my way home from work. Its always clean and quiet for the most part. The gazebo often has people drinking and the kids playground - well, big as it is and as much as there is to do, when I bring my boys here to play they often are disappointed that parents here dont allow their kids to play with other kids they dont know. Very strange atmosphere.

This place is actually pretty nice. Other than occasional homless drunks under the pavillion area or camping in the woods (wish theyd do something about that) its ok. Nice trail to walk through but would be cautious for its kinda deep in there. Still cool though. From what i remember dogs arent allowed so its nice to not be bothered by that for once. Finally, a people park.

Could be bigger & have some new playground equipment. Same stuff that’s been there for over 20+yrs. Hope someone on the planning board sees or hears about this? It’s a shame compared to everything they’ve put into Henderson Park. You shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket kinda thinking...
