Beautiful space, lots of picnic tables and benches, good amount of open space, and great playground for kids 7 and under. Because of Covid, the carousel, train, and pony rides werent in operation, but Im sure the space would be even more amazing if they were.
Sweet park, offering something for everyone. Sports, play structures, fishing, hiking and biking. The trail joining Howarth and Spring Lake parks is well maintained and beautiful, with ample room for pedestrians and cyclists. And its beautiful all year long!
When I need a dose of nature, and dont have a lot of time to travel, I go to Howarth. Im a birder, and there are always birds on Lake Ralphine. On my most recent trip (to get away from the election results), as I was watching the birds, a boy asked me Is that a bald eagle over there? Sure enough, it was. Then, to our delight, it flew right over us. I cant think of a better place in Santa Rosa to get some fresh air while seeking a bit of nature.
Its beautiful... a good place for walking on paved trails and hiking off those trails also use to walk and hike to Spring Lake
Great park. Very nice, love hiking and running the trails. The lake is nice too.
This park has grown up over the many years I have been going there.. They now have many BBQ pits and tables. They have new play ground areas.. and a very large dog walking running park with lots of great puppys and dogs hanging out with plenty of chairs and drinking fountains for everyone to enjoy. With caution and take as you may they do let the homeless sleep there at night but all them never leave anything to suggest that they do. Very respectful. Be safe plenty of room for social distancing.... Take wipes for cleaning the bathroom seats..
Its a park for all ages its got trales climbing and water fun in the summer.
Wonderful park with something for everyone. One large play area for kids of all ages, one smaller play area with a climbing wall. Beautiful lake where you can bring your own boat year round & kayaks, small sail boats, paddle boats and paddle boards can be rented during the summer. During certain times of the year the train runs and there is a petting zoo and horseback riding. Loads of tennis courts with lights for night play are here too. Literally, something for everyone.
Best and oldest park around Santa Rosa! So many memories made here from when I was a kid to my kids making new memories to last them forever too if you havent already been there you NEED to check it out something to do for everyone youll be glad you did!
Howarth Park has a lake called Spring Lake. You can ride your motocross bikes bicycles around the lake and some really fun Trails you can also do a lot of hiking you can also do both theres also numerous picnic spots they have a baseball diamond a kids playground a small little train that kids can ride on and a carousel theres enough fun for everyone Howarth Park
Something for everyone. From the pond to toys, grass area and picnic tables, this place is a wonderful place to spend a day in nature. Take a hike, spend an hour with paddle boats on the pond, have a picnic, play on toys.
Great hiking trail around the lake, or you can hang out on one of the many tables and enjoy the lake side.
Great place to bring kids or just hike and get away!
Great place to bring the kids to play for the day! Nice park!
The park is mostly shut down. So its hard to give any rating right now. During the usual times I find Howarth Park to be a real jewel in Santa Rosa. I love the horses and train. Feeding the ducks and paddle boating...
This is one of the most accessible and enjoyable parks in Santa Rosa. There are multiple parking lots adjacent to the playgrounds and tennis court. For families with young children there is the main playground with slides and a climbing rope structure. Older children and teens typically enjoy the rock climbing wall next to the lake. For anyone wanting to walk or hike, there are various trails from the lake that range from relaxing to moderate effort, and there are various benches and scenic stops to make along your way.
Great place to get away or spend time with others. Fishing, hiking, swimming, and outdoor eating areas
We love Howarth Park! It has a fabulous playground for the kids. Good amount of parking. On weekends in the summer months theres a train ride, carousel and you can pay $5 for a short ride on a pony for your kiddos. Plus theres Lake Ralphine where you can rent paddle boats and fish. There are easy Trails throughout the park. Mallard ducks and Canadian geese at the lake. Near the playground, there is a large grassy area where we can run around and throw the ball. And Redwood Trees shading a picnic area. And if youre up for a longer walk you can take the trails into Spring Lake Park which borders Howarth Park.
Cool little park. Worth visiting.
I love this park. I have been going to this park since I was little. The scenery is beautiful and I love how I get to see some of the wild life that live there.
Cant wait for the train and merry go round to open again. Loved the paddleboating
A quiet relaxing place to hike or walk your dog
Covid-19 AWARENESS is needed here. Id say 1 out of 5 wear a mask or do social distancing. Kids playing on park structures while parents sit on benches like nothing has threatened our friends, family or those around us.People need to start speaking up or call the police so they can enforce laws being violated. We all need to do our part to stop the spread of this killer.
Great park! Nice grass area at lower parking lot. Paved walking/running paths. And much more including lakes, fishing, tennis courts, baseball field, etc.
I love the place I can run my dog kayak all the time fish good place to get exercise
Lots of people. Open to the public despite covid.not everybody wearing masks
If you wanna have a bike ride or a motivational running stuff, than this is the place for you. And it has great views.
A great place to take the kids to play.
A great family recreation place. Walk your dog, sail a boat, or ride a train. Fun for all!
The extensive walking trails, both paved and unpaved, are very popular with runners, couples, singles, and women with youngsters in strollers. There are a few dirt bikers seen on weekends mainly. The paved paths offer mild up and down portions but are primarily flat. A four-mile loop is available around the small lake at Howarth Park. The Howarth Park trails hook up with the many trails and larger lake at Spring Lake Regional Park. The two lakes are very calm and scenic and boating, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing are available.
This part connects to several other parts through some trails it has lots and lots of space. it connects to a few different lakes you can spend a long time running these trails or taking a walk. The best part is dogs are welcome. I come here to train future soldiers and take them four runs its a great location. My dog also really likes to run up and down the hills. I have also seen some people fish here. This park is a hidden gem and a must see.
I absolutely love Howarth park! What makes this environment special to me, are the various spaces surrounding Ralphine where onlookers can see beautiful scenic images of the lake and the wildlife inhabiting the area. I love to come here with friends to relax by the water!
Awesome play grounds. Cool little lake. Train rides in the summer. Love this place.
Nice walking park with a pond. Rent a sailboat or paddle boat if you like, but AVOID THE BIG WHITE GOOSE.
I love Howarth park. But I Worry about large group of Latinos together w/o masks that I saw on my walk. Esp since this group is being hit hard in our county with Covid19
Fun walk around a lake.
Great park with lots of activities! From BBQ and picnic, fishing, biking, hiking to playground for kids, this place offers them all. If you have kids, they will get a kick off chasing after the ducks and geese that are just sitting on the road. You can also walk or bike around the Howarth Lake and the Spring Lake on a paved trail.
Always love this park. My only frustration is that we couldnt find a drinking fountain. We also didnt see any squirrels. We miss the squirrels.
Annadels rowdy little brother. Cool bike trails. Short
Great attraction on the outskirts of Santa Rosa. Features a carousel, mini train, jump house. Pony rides all very reasonably priced. There is a little recreational lake and fishing area as well. Limited food options at the snack shack.
Had a picnic and spent the day at this really nice park with Tanya and Hudson we ran into Hudsons classmate, he n she had a great time running all around and playing, I had a great time watching them, in Santa Rosa
Howarth Park. beauty all around me.
Nice park with a great fishing lake and lots of stuff for the kids to do
I always love walking here and seeing all the waterfowl!
Beautiful at sunset!!!
Best dog park and kids playground
Great park but make sure you check the bathrooms before use for cameras... lots of creepy people out there, spy cameras are often found in the bathrooms so make sure you do a good look for them before you or your kid go! stay safe yall
Kids loved it, plus it was really clean.
Beautiful park. Lots of stuff to do. Fishing, boating, hiking, jogging or just walking. Walking the dog. Play section for kids. And nice people too.
We had a birthday party here & it was perfect. The kids got to run wild, the staff was great & they loved going on the rides endlessly. Perfect!
Nice place for an outing with the family.there was a a lot of trash all over the trails and the lake.still a nice place to be for a Sunday.
IT WAS WONDERFUL,ME AND MY WIFE HAD A BARBECUE,THERE WAS HARDLY ANYONE AROUND!7
Ive loved this place since I was a small child. Now to see my own children play here is just amazing! This park has magic in it
This guy was not pleased they we did not bring him snacks.
The park is very nice for an afternoon lunch my only concern was the bathrooms were not open. So my girlfriend had to pee behind the building.
One of my favorite places in Santa Rosa
Its a nice place to come relax by the lake. It is definitely not a quiet place. The ducks can be pretty loud haha. My kids had a great time as it was something new to them, since we live by the ocean. Theres also a kids park. Its located right by the entrance. Lots of parking spaces. A public restroom. Only negative is there wasnt alot of trash bins, I do wish they had more trash bins. We had to look around and found one by the trail.
Great park to sneak into during the Covid 19 restrictions.
Its peaceful and not really social distance complying
Nice park good place to have a picnic lunch.
Amazing place to go and relax with ur friends
Cause all the nature hearing birds and its a great place to walk
An amazing park overall! Big playground, great experience trails, fishing, petting zoo, TRAIN!! What more could you ask for??
Love this place. Lots of local food. Plenty of parking. Great for kids.
Great spot to get away for a minute always nice to walk around the lake or just sit on the benches near there parking lot facing the lake while just taking in all the happenings. Also great to go fishing, running, hiking, horse back riding...
Just be courteous, honor social distancing, share the road, and enjoy the outdoors!!
Awesome park with tons of hiking trails, 2 lakes for fishing, picnic areas, kids play areas and even a train you can take a ride on. I walk my dog through around this park daily and we both always have a great time.
Awesome place for The Family Activities
Its beautifully green and well taken care of. Parking is some-what limited. There is handicap access throughout the park. It is large and there are plenty of items for kids to play with. There are bbq grills as well as picnic tables and benches. My kid loved it. Right above the main area there is a pond with geese, ducks, goose. There were bbq grills and picnic tables, benches and even little docks. More parking there and another park off to the side. The trees are tall n beautiful, casting shade on the tables and benches. Wonderful place.
Wonderful place to spend the day .
Great place to take the kids . A great park with plenty of thing to do from little kids to big kids. Also you can ride the train or horses. Also go fishing.
Great for kids all ages!!
Its really big, and has lots of activities
Easy hiking and fishing for kids
It was great. Fed the ducks.
Great place for you and your family lots to enjoy and appreciate the walk around the two lakes
Howarth has several different trails around Lake Ralphine and to Spring Lake, as well as a great playground for kids and barbecue/ picnic spots
Nice little walks to take the dog on with pretty lake views and potential for water sports activities
Love the local park, the history, and the variety of things to do by yourself, as a couple, or as a family.
Great place to walk around in and it entertains kids. Canoeing there is very fun and I definitely want to go again.
Howarth Park has an amazing playground and park with a Train, Carousel, and Pony Rides. There is also a lake that has a hiking trail around it as well as paddle boats and canoes for rentals. Its a great place to picnic because of the numerous picnic tables/BBQs under the shade of the trees. If you like tennis, there are tennis and pickle ball courts. Across the street is a Marys Pizza Shack and a Yogurt time if you skip the picnic and want to treat yourself after playing at the park. The park is clean & safe.
Have spent the last two Saturdays, playing Scrabble in the park. There is a nice quiet area, we have found with tables in the shade. Such a diverse place. Paddle boats, fishing, parties, geese, bike trails, walking trails, so much to do at this park. That is, if youre motivated enough to get off the park tables. LOL
This park has it all, something for young & old!!! Only complaint is parking, trick is take a deep breath & keep looking til you find a place.. Gem of Santa Rosa
I have lived in Santa Rosa all my life 59 years and this has always been my favorite park. Lots to do with family and friends
Nice paths. Great family park. Lots for the kids to do
Theyre replacing the asphalt around the main playground, so its nice to see legitimate upkeep. The Merry Go-Round is completely gone, and the train is shut down. Well have to wait and see just what is being done with those attractions. This place is a Sonoma County intuition, and I live bringing my family here. Great for Pokémon go, if you still play.
