A nice small hill to climb with 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape at the peak. The hike up to the peak is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile and a little steep at the end, but a nice short climb. Sadly the cow at the peak seen is no longer there so I was a bit disappointed when I reached the top.

Trail run is good if you stay in the lower trails. To the top means youre walking. I run this almost weekly. Its a good time.Ive only seen one snake (harmless).

Nice little open space park. Its about 0.6 miles to the top of the hill, which offers great views of the surrounding space. It was a 30 min hike up, including time to take pictures. I went while it was raining and the bottom was a bit muddy. Really fun and snagged some good pics. Wouldnt recommend if you want a long hike.

Good place to go for a very easy, quick, open and beautiful hike. From the top you can see grape orchards and a reservoir at the end of reservoir canyon. I the first time I went here I hiked with my friend while it was raining. At the top we ate oatmeal. It was very fun

This open space has wonderful hikes, and great mountain biking, although arguably not the best for beginners, with large loose rocks and steep sections. Many of these trails are usable even with a little rain, whereas there are many other local trails that become completely unusable due to the high clay content in the soil. It affords some wonderful vistas over San Luis Obispo.

Short hike to a good view, amongst delicate native plants. Profuse flowers in the springtime; the air at the top of the hill is usually thick with butterflies.

Great quick little hike. Distance and elevation gainwise, it is about 60% of a Cerro San Luis (Madonna Mtn) hike. Very exposed so it can be very hot. Watch out for ticks. Great view of wine country from the top (as well as a sweet cow statue)!

Good hike for views of SLO and wine areas. Not good after rains-slippery at top.

Lovely hike up a nice hill in SLO.. Nice view!! When you get to the top, some end of the trail etiquette would be let the next group arriving have the space to themselves for a minute or two if youve been there for a while . Its NOT a picnic spot. Lol

Its called open space, but its definitely a park. There is a parking lot, next to the parking lot there are bathrooms and right against the parking lot is where the play structures are. There are several play structures as well as 4 swings: 2 baby swings and two big kids swings. There are also tennis courts. Behind the play structure the open space starts. There is a nice path that you can walk down and it eventually leads into the neighborhood.

I often visit Islay Park where Orcutt meets Tank Farm in SLO. Theres a very shady walking path landscaped with native plants. Lots of people walking dogs and enjoying the outdoors just minutes from the city. The park has a ball field and little kids play structures too. Also one pretty decent tennis court. Nice!

Great place to walk, run, and hike! Multi different entrances and exits so mark your spot/pin your car location on your map prior, for safety. Really rocky and hard to get to some places, one trail I saw has a black diamond. Bring a friend and or pet.

This fairly steep, short hike offers nice views of SLO and the Edna valley. On a clear day you can glimpse Los Osos and the ocean. Despite the ugly cow statue on top almost ruining the entire experience, this open space deserves 3 stars.
