A nice small hill to climb with 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape at the peak. The hike up to the peak is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile and a little steep at the end, but a nice short climb. Sadly the cow at the peak seen is no longer there so I was a bit disappointed when I reached the top.
Trail run is good if you stay in the lower trails. To the top means youre walking. I run this almost weekly. Its a good time.Ive only seen one snake (harmless).
Nice little open space park. Its about 0.6 miles to the top of the hill, which offers great views of the surrounding space. It was a 30 min hike up, including time to take pictures. I went while it was raining and the bottom was a bit muddy. Really fun and snagged some good pics. Wouldnt recommend if you want a long hike.
Very pretty at night, but steep.
Good place to go for a very easy, quick, open and beautiful hike. From the top you can see grape orchards and a reservoir at the end of reservoir canyon. I the first time I went here I hiked with my friend while it was raining. At the top we ate oatmeal. It was very fun
This open space has wonderful hikes, and great mountain biking, although arguably not the best for beginners, with large loose rocks and steep sections. Many of these trails are usable even with a little rain, whereas there are many other local trails that become completely unusable due to the high clay content in the soil. It affords some wonderful vistas over San Luis Obispo.
The hike is short but moderate. My kids love seeing the cow at the too. Great hike for the whole family.
Lovely hike up a nice hill in SLO.. Nice view!! When you get to the top, some end of the trail etiquette would be let the next group arriving have the space to themselves for a minute or two if youve been there for a while . Its NOT a picnic spot. Lol
Its called open space, but its definitely a park. There is a parking lot, next to the parking lot there are bathrooms and right against the parking lot is where the play structures are. There are several play structures as well as 4 swings: 2 baby swings and two big kids swings. There are also tennis courts. Behind the play structure the open space starts. There is a nice path that you can walk down and it eventually leads into the neighborhood.
Great hike up to the cow on the pole. Lol. Views for days....️
I do not understand why there is a cow here. However, this area is very pleasant.
Great hike to the top.
Kind of tiny. But very nice view.
Good one hour hike. Starts easy, then moderate, then steep. Great cow statue at top for photo opportunity.
I often visit Islay Park where Orcutt meets Tank Farm in SLO. Theres a very shady walking path landscaped with native plants. Lots of people walking dogs and enjoying the outdoors just minutes from the city. The park has a ball field and little kids play structures too. Also one pretty decent tennis court. Nice!
Great photo shots for any other local photographers! Only downside is the mosquitoes that bombard the mountain top.
Great place to walk, run, and hike! Multi different entrances and exits so mark your spot/pin your car location on your map prior, for safety. Really rocky and hard to get to some places, one trail I saw has a black diamond. Bring a friend and or pet.
Great place to hike with great views of the Laguna lake? ( Mud hole) depth of so called lake is 2 ft. Nice park clean bathrooms. Dog park for you dog lovers
This fairly steep, short hike offers nice views of SLO and the Edna valley. On a clear day you can glimpse Los Osos and the ocean. Despite the ugly cow statue on top almost ruining the entire experience, this open space deserves 3 stars.
Always beautiful here. Close to everything, great views, and park is great for the kids. Parking is decent too.
Just another mountain trail. Not much to see
Great for younger children - under 10. Nice paved trail through neighborhood. Has a baseball field, tennis courts, and public restrooms.
Good park to sit in your car and watch people play tennis
Great place to hang out especially at night. Very quiet.
Easy hike with great views of south San Luis Obispo. Check out theMoo with a View at the top.
Beautiful hike to the top. Great views of SLO
Its a very beautiful spot to hike and have fun
Great one mile hike up with expansive views of the ocean the surrounding morros and the valleys good elevation gain well-maintained Trail
Park on the east side of Huckleberry Lane and find the beginning of the trail! Its an easy climb.
A medium level hike with an amazing view of Edna Valley and San Luis Obispo.
Great place for a quick hike with panoramic views.
A,bit short but very beautiful.
Beautiful hike and not too strenuous.
