Fresh baked pies, cobblers, cookies, muffins and many other fabulous desserts for the holidays or that special occasion. They have fresh fruits and vegetables for sale, raw local honey and seasonal products that are festive and geared towards holidays. They have a wonderful tour of the barn and you can feed animals too. Its such a beautiful place to come enjoy the day. Save your appetite as they have really good burgers, corn on the cob and ice-cream yummy!
It’s pumpkin time!Avila is a picturesque farm with loads of goodies to buy and eat- homemade pies, loaves, jams, etc. there’s also ice cream, BBQ, and a corn roaster (certain days only)! You can also buy a head of lettuce for $4 to feed the goats. Or walk around and appreciate the sights and smells of farm animals. Or maybe a chicken will fly out to greet you!
I felt like I was 12 all over again!I noticed this place from the road and I saw a lot of people having fun but I still couldnt tell what was going on and if this was a private event? Luckily after looking it up on yelp this place was open to everybody and convinced my girlfriends to stop by! Best decision ever! The setting is so charming! Lots of trees & flowers everywhere along with petting areas for all the kids (or adults like me) to enjoy and you can even feed all the animals! My face hurt from smiling so much :)Theres lots of food everywhere from sweet fresh corn (amazingly delicious) and BBQ pits filling up the air! Theres also a sweet shop with freshly made goodies, taffy and ice cream. One of the highlights was the farmers market which had so many incredible fresh options like fruits & veggies, freshly made pies, cookies other sweet delicacies, homemade jams, olive oils, sauces, honey, pickled goods and even fresh flowers that were stunning. Theres also a section with lotions & potions for all the ladies that like that type of stuff.I love stumbling upon places like this! Feeling like a kid is always such a pleasant surprise :)
Great place for the family!! Bring the kids to see the animals. Take pictures, eat great food. Pick up you favorite pie or baked goods. Warning come early for your holidays pies go fast!!
Such a wonderful place to take the whole family! Super easy to find, and there is a lot of parking. They are requiring a face mask, and practicing social distancing. With that being said be prepared. If you do decide to go to Avila barn, dont forget to stop and see the beautiful sunflowers. They are located down buy the pumpkins, where they do pony rides. This is a dog friendly environment.
Fun for kids and adults to visit. Their pies are absolutely a must, though a bit pricey, theyre worth every penny. The best pie Ive ever tasted.
Absolutely amazing to take you family. You can feed the goats and other animals which is fun for the kids. Amazing baked goods and sweets to purchase that are made on the spot. Great little snack bar. Love the smoked artichokes! Definitely lots of premium pumpkins to choose from during fall season
LOVED LOVED LOVED everything about this place. We happened to stumble on this little gem by accident and I am so glad we did. We loved the fact that we were able to feed the farm animals (whole family enjoyed that), we loved the fact that there was a mini market and deli for some healthy snacks, and we loved the roasted corn.I will also say that the weather was perfect and a great location for a quick cute picture place to take of your baby.
It was ok there was parking but it was about 30 minute wait to go in. They dont charge for parking or to go in but everything else is expensive they have like 8 or 9 goats and some chickens. The only thing I liked about going was the cookies and carrot cake I bought. I probably wouldnt come back next year.
Fun for everyone! Kids can feed the animals for 3 dollars/ bundle of lettuce. Weve been coming here for years but they never tire of doing the exact activities. Its extra lovely going there in the fall. Endless mounds of different pumpkin varieties to buy or pose next to for the most adorable photos. Moms like me can appreciate the baked goods and produce sold. Not sure if theyre cheaper or more expensive but once youre there, you really wont care.
Great place for some family fun and BBQ. There are farm animals that can be fed. Theres cows, goats and chickens...even a pony. Try their smoked Tri Tip Sandwich, its delicious and they dont skimp on the meat. The kids snacked on the sea salt caramel donuts and rootbeer floats, while the adults had some roasted corn. Yummy!Dont leave without visiting the market, stock up on some fresh fruit and vegetables, honey, and the Pumpkin Bread is delicious.
This is probably my favorite pumpkin patch that Ive ever been to. its a nice little place and doesnt really get too overcrowded. inside theres plenty of fruit for you to shop for and its all really fresh. on top of that theres cute animals for all the kids to see and to feed. Normally there is a tractor ride and a maze but due to covid-19 its not really operational right now but the rest of the farm is still open till again they have ice cream and what not for everyone.
We had a wonderful experience here. Nothing was particularly cheap, and some things were a bit expensive, but almost everything they had for sale was either made on site or was local to the area. Wonderful selection of produce and homemade goods. The animals were a lot of fun for the kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Im writing this review specifically for the baked goods. Avila Valley Barn makes a great pie and a killer crisp! They are fresh and full of flavor. I recently had their olallieberry crisp, which I paired with some Tillamook old fashioned vanilla ice cream--it was divine. Ive also had the olallie berry pie, the apple pie, and the cherry crisp . . . and they were all winners.
Great place to go with family, bf or gf or by yourself. Wide range of fruits and vegetables as well as delectable treats. Staff is always friendly and willing to help. We love the little petting zoo and Abbey the Cow is our favorite!!!
Cute little farm and fun for all ages! Theres a free petting zoo and you can pay to get a head of lettuce to feed the animals. Theres also a cute little shop selling items from the local area. Definitely worth the stop!
Definitely one of the TOP 5 highlights of visiting SLO; such a beautiful area of the town, friendly people and tons of selections for fresh veggie’s, sweets, honey and and a whole lot more!Great for just checking out on your own or with friends and family!!Great find..
Great place to take the younger kids to, they love to feed the animals. They have great pies too!
Well I am so glad I talked my aunt into coming to a Farm. We petted goats and fed animals lettuce. The cows are beautiful and majestic. The farm is organic so pick up your fruits and veggies while you are there. I am so sad I only bought one pumpkin and one ollaliberrie pie. Buy more than one if you go. And make sure to go early to load up on muffins. My mom loved the zucchini and my aunt loved the pumpkin. I just wish they had more veggie food. I always feel bad when they serve tri tip and the cow is right there being loved and petted and fed. The pumpkins were all an amazing price with so many sizes and colours. I wish I lived closer.
She had alot of fun although it was so much different with covid going on
Another one of our must go to places when we visit this area! Great pies, fresh fruits and veggies and something for the whole family!
Cute place for the kids! My son loved feeding the animals. Lettuce was $2 a head. We personally didnt go into store but it definitely is an adorable place!
Had so much fun at Avila farm. Feed animals, ate delicious lunch and shopped for unusual items. Bought this pink bumpy Peanut pumpkin because it so unique.
Nice little farm were kids can see, pet, and feed farm animals. Good food and a nice little veggie/dessert store. And you can climb hay... whats better than that?!
Really good experience. Ive been to AVB many times. This was my first time visiting since the pandemic and I must say, with the added measures and social distancing, the overall experience hasnt changed much. Theres just more elbow room. Pretty impressed with their adaptability and new found flow.
Absolutely LOVED this place. A bit pricey but I didnt care. Cant wait to return. Nothing best fresh. Plus you can feed the goats
As always, great selection of snacks and treats! They updated their deli area and expanded their menu. They had a decent selection of pies, and surprisingly it wasnt that busy for a Friday afternoon/evening!
Covid sucks but Avila Valley Barn was still able to pull of Covid restrictions, code enforcement and a wonderful family time. My family had such a great experience. And we even had a couple first timers who enjoyed themselves despite new restrictions.
We try to go every time we are in the area. Love to feed the animals, our favorite part. Then we got roasted corn on the cobb, always yummy. Although with covid the good butter spray and seasonings arent there but we totally understood. And always have to get a pie to take home.
Great atmosphere for families! Lots of fun getting to feed the goats! Other cool animals to see also! Lots of neat pumpkins for Halloween time. Great food, yummy ice cream, and lots of outdoor space!
Who doesnt love Avila Barn?!?! Everytime im on the Central Coast we stop to feed the animals. The roasted corn is awesome, the sandwiches from the deli!!! Delish!!
Although the weekend can get touristy it is still a favorite spot for locals to get pies, pumpkins, corn, and other local fresh produce. They do different pick your own things each season. (Maybe not this year) It is a great family stop as well to take the kids and feed the animals.
Lots of yummies to choose from..great little petting farm fir the kids, looks like theyre adding more things, will be fun to see what they add.
So much fun. Taking the family or friends to. Everyone should go. Make a morning or afternoon and make it happen. Awesome
Wonderful day with my family. Dog friendly. My great niece loved feeding the animals. Delicious peach pie!
Great place to connect to our agricultural heritage. Take your family for the holidays.
Very nice place to stop We were traveling from out of town just so happen to find this Beautiful Spot! Farm animals to feed, Berrys to pick, A variety of pumpkins to buy from! Not to mention the homemade pies to buy and take home yumm!! Great place to take your family!!
Beautiful and everything is fresh from salsa vegetables food fruit and juices there fresh apple cider is amazing
Its fun for kids and lots of pumpkin
We stumbled upon this little gem in avila County. It was really fun feeding the animals and shopping for fresh fruit. The fruit was immaculate.
Such a friendly, warm family owned and operated store, homemade pies, honey, farm grown fresh vegetables. We bought a strawberry pie, so yummy! Worth the trip to visit.
Its hard to know what normal might be like here, but on a Monday holiday it was way too crowded, their food menu was very limited (tritip sandwich had excellent tritip on an over-toasted bun), and the line to get a pumpkin was a mile long. Despite the ongoing pandemic, there were a lot of people close together and only about half of the people here were wearing a mask. It could be nicer, but for us on what turned out to be a hot October day it was in and out and down the road as quickly as possible.
Amazing farmers market style gift shop. Free, kid and baby friendly farm with animals to feed. Animals are healthy and well taken care of. Great family photo spots. Lots of shaded areas to picnic and enjoy the outdoor scenery and farm. Didnt catch a tractor or pony ride today, but well be coming back for more family fun. Such a great stop.
Very cute! I went during the winter so it wasnt very busy but I can see this being very popular in summer! The goats were adorable and all trying to escape. They also have a great market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a good selection of jams and other items!
My sister and I enjoyed our time there shopping, eating hot fresh corn. It was fun.
This a must visit destination if you have young kids. Lots of animals to feed. You buy fresh lettuce or celery for $1/bunch and can walk around and feed the animals. Great store to browse, an ice cream shop, and a corn stand. Enjoy!
Always a great place to stop when looking for fresh produce or some really great pie! Be forewarned, it can be a little dusty walking around but thats part of the realistic feel of the setting. Live animals on site, too. If you want to feed a goat or a pony, this is your chance.
Rude personnel. Was told by staff in a very rude manner as I was approaching a horse cant you read the sign you cant feed this animal when this member was blocking the sign and the size of the sign is not very visible. I understand rules and concerns regarding the safety of animals in this place but I also work on customer service and this staff member was just not having a good day. Probably because he was about to clean that area...
Enjoyed all the animals n chickens very nice place to visit enjoyed the apple pie we bought there
You pass through seven levels of pumpkin and gourd patches, through the sea of swirly twirly sun flowers and then walk through the Sweet Shop, the Farm Store and the Bakery. No, youre not in the city anymore!!
This place never gets old no matter your age. Especially fun during Harvest Season!!
A must stop if you’re in the area. Awesome baked treats, ice cream, bbq etc. Also, dont forget to see the animals, that you can also feed. You and the kids will love it
Wonderful time as always. Very pleased. They currently ask visitors to wear face masks in the market and sweetshop and are allowing the animals to be fed. Its as clean as ever and the employees are all so helpful. Restrooms were clean and open as well. They also have the best pies and breads, never disappointed.
A nice place to stop and buy fruits, vegetables and other consumable items. Lots of kitchen nic-nacs available to purchase. Also a small petting zoo for the kids.
Always a pleasure. Cant wait for Covid to be put in check so they can make proper elotes again. Packets of parmesan is a bummer, but I understand why theyre doing it the way they are.
Very cute place. I would say that the prices were a bit high, but in reality about what are expected for this kind of place. We bought a Cinnamon roll for breakfast tomorrow and a scoop of ice cream for right then. The ice cream was very good.
Pretty cool little shop/farmers market. Fun for the kids with the little animals you can feed. Everything is definitely over priced but the quality is there. Great spot for photos.
Loved feeding the goats. The Apple Pie was amazing. Great place for the whole family!
Everyone that works here is very kid and helpful. If you have any questions they will do their best to answer it correctly and if they cant they will RUN and get someone who can help you with your question. Also sometimes they will give you samples of the apples or the stone fruits that are in season! Also during the fall when its time for pumpkin carving, they do a hayride to the field where the pumpkins were grown and there are still pumpkins out in the field for you to buy one, I took my Niece and she loved it!Avila Vally Barn is truly a family friendly place to take you kids, they can pay I think $0.50 to get a bag of chopped fresh leafy greens to feed the various animals that live at the barn! They also have an Ice Cream Shop, Toy and Childrens books area, Spices, Sauces, cookbooks and cooking utensils, Pre-made frozen pies, cookies, brownies and breads, they even sell the most adorable little trinkets! I could spend all day and a TON of money here! If and WHEN you visit them I really hope youre there when theyre Roasting the Corn on the cob! If you like corn on the cob, this will fill you up, I promise! It, like so many other parts of Avila Valley Barn make it the perfect prescription for a day outside!
Absolutely AMAZING. Anything and everything you could want in one place. A must visit on your coastal trip.
Renovations to the sweet shop are very nice, and bring a modern touch to a rustic location. Staff was very friendly and willing to provide help whenever necessary. Animals appear to be well cared for, and happy for the most part, and the food is amazing. Buying anything here can cost a small fortune, but thats the price you pay for quality produce, ingredients, and no processing. I would 100% visit again, and probably buy another cherry pie.
We always going to Avila Valkey Barn. I was so glad to see that yall are still open. Also the Roos and Chickens are beautiful. A huge selection of Pumpkins and of course seeing all the little kids excited about the animals and being able to feed them.
Employees were friendly. All produce was ripe and fresh. Everything was spotless. It was fun watching the goats getting fed by the little kids. Cannot wait for the triple berry pie we bought there!
Great fresh local fruits and bakes goodies. I hear the pies are great. Long lines right now but they go fast. My advice: try the zucchini muffins!
We went to the Avila Valley Barn on Saturday to meet my niece and nephew to feed the animals and had a great time. There are quite a few animals that we were able to feed and watch in their cages and plenty of chickens roaming around. I especially love the farm cat he is super friendly and really funny jumping around on things at the hay maze. Great morning to start the weekend.
Amazing we never realized this ace was tucked away here. Really charming with live animals, fresh produce and and all kinds of goodies.
A wonderful place we go every year at least three times a year
No social distancing (or enforcing). Lots of maskless people. Website isnt accurate. Blackberries Jul-Nov, but when we went, they told us summer only and website says apples until Dec, but they stripped the trees in mid early Oct.
I have been their several times. It fun beautiful and great food. Staff are very friendly. Wonderfull family place. A wonderful place to take your family.
Best pie in the county hands down. Sorry Lynns!
Great place to take the kids when youre at the coast. Great selection of stuff, but can be a little pricey.
Great place for young family. Very kid friendly. Animals to pet and feed. All kinds of fruit and vegetables. Assortment of kitchen curios and small gift ideas. You could even bring a date for a unique afternoon picnic.
Great place. Love the farm animals. You can feed the goats. They have other animals to see as well. The barn itself has a wonderful selection of fresh produce, pies, cobblers and icecream. Also a large selection of other products. The staff is so friendly and helpful.
Love this place. The stuff is a little expensive but worth it. Best corn nuts. LOL. The $2 tractor/hayride totally worth the money. We had him drop us off and picked raspberries. Ice cream is so creamy and delicious. Was on vacation in the area for 4 days and stopped by twice. Fun for adults and kids. Will definitely stop by next time in area.
Wow!! Great place for children. The food there was delicious. My two small ones had a great time feeding the animals. I definitely recommend Avila Valley Barn for a great family experience.
Our family loves this places and stops by every year while in the area. Gotta grab a fresh BBQ corn on the cob and although a bit pricey, the pies are delicious. Tracker and pony rides are fun for the kids.
Loved this place! Great to see the goats. Good ice cream. Plenty of parking.
Deli ...good homemade pies...fresh vegetables..buy gifts...friendly staff....varies farm animals....love to go there.
Ive loved coming here since I was a kid. Every holiday or school break I came to visit family and we would always come here. The roasted corn is a must when visiting. They have great food and desserts (the turn overs are my personal favorite). Not only do they have fresh baked goods but fresh fruits, veggies, flowers, herbs, jellies, salsa, and varies other homemade foods. Theres also animals which you can feed with lettuce you can buy for a buck in the stand. Overall great place to visit when in the area.
This place is super cute it has fruits and veggies and well as some fun kitschy stuff.br8ng the kids they wl love it farm animals they can feed and rightnow they a bunch of pumpkins i always stop here when Im in town.
Gets crowded on the weekends so get there early! Used to be just a single, tiny barn but had become increasingly popular probably due to their baked goods.
Great place to take the family, especially kids. Excellent petting zoo, homemade pies and treats, fresh fruits and veggies, plus hot corn on the cob!
Good for children: can pet and feed goats and pony. Their store has some in-house made produce, I got zucchini cake/bread, which was surprisingly good (not too sweet)
I had the best time even with COVID. You get to feed the animals and they have really good corn on the cob.
Kids and parents love it is a beautiful place, horses, cows, chicken s, goats,ECT ECT better take a look and walk around the sun flowers field
I enjoyed feeding the goats, cows, and looking at the animals. Inside the hard was very cute too. I enjoyed walking around.
Great social distancing protocols & as always great atmosphere & great baked goods!
Fun place for kids and family at least nothing to worry about home less people
A relaxing atmosphere for the entire family. The roasted corn is a treat. The barn animals entertains the kids. The general store is just awesome!
We visited Avila Farm with my sister and her family and it was surprisingly fun. There is a wonderful farmers market that has some excellent local picks. The kids loved feeding the animals and seeing the different types of farm animals up close. They do not charge for visiting or parking which is very nice.
Fun for kids and has a cute fruit and veggie barn to shop at. The ice cream is also very good.
We love Avila Barn, we come here a few times a year, feed the animals, get some treats, have fun with the kids. They are TRYING to make things work with Covid, but there are WAY too many people on the grounds and in the market. They have people checking for masks when you walk in, and another person who checks masks when you enter the market. But MANY patrons themselves just do not care and as soon as they pass the entrance, they take their mask off. Same situation in the market itself...they get in and pull their mask off and with so many people inside its impossible to distance. No one from the Barn enforces the masks beyond those two checks. There was even an employee replenishing the bottled water just wandering around maskless, and the guy who have us our tri tip sandwiches had the mask below his nose which grossed me out. Today it was not a pleasant experience at all and we wont be back until after Covid stops beng a risk. (Last teeny tiny thing, we got here around 11 am on a non-holiday Monday to get muffins for the next days breakfast, and they were already down to two muffins left altogether. So it was miserable to be around the people who dont care about anyone but themselves, and we didnt get what we came for.)
This was an amazing experience. Social distancing is not mandatory over there though
Farm market, fresh baked goodies, snack bar, cold drinks, u-pick produce too. Kids will love viewing and feeding farm animals.
