We had an awesome time.as a local on this tour. Saw whales, dolphins, and saw whales breach it was awesome..lots of seals and sealions..good COVID protocols and knowledge guides.
This is the most unprofessional tour Ive ever encountered. My partner and I checked in an hour early and were told our tour had been combined with another tour and we would leave at 2:30pm. We came back at 2:20 to find the ladder for the vehicle was already lifted and the first mate telling us the tour was full. Everyone that we tried to talk to to understand why we werent being let onto the tour that we had already paid and checked in for was very rude and never even once apologized about the situation. I dont understand how this happened and it was very upsetting to have to deal with, we were really looking forward to this tour and had planned our day around it.
We had a great time. The guide was funny (but not corny) and incredibly knowledgeable. The 90 mins flew by and we learned so much about the city we have lived in for 8 years. Highly recommend it. We took our two children. The 5-yr-old loved it and the 2-yr-old lasted about an hour (the only options were close to nap time, so this was our fault)! The kids were invited to the front to sit next to the captain!
The staff and everyone were very nice. I dont feel the tour was interesting though. Not enough covered. The seals arent active, they are in the middle of the bay on a dock, sleeping. Somewhat boringI will try the hop on hop off next time.
Thank you Captain Tony and 1st Mate Jon for a wonderful tour this afternoon. We really enjoyed the Sea & Land Adventures tour ... plus also learned a lot about San Diego from Jon as well. Capt. Tony was right ... 1st Mate Jons like a live talking encyclopedia right in front of us ... *_~
Pretty good tour. Its 30 min on the road and one hour on the water. They are also currently accommodating for social distancing!
Kids loved it! So much I didnt know about San Diego. Was a fun tour!
Awesome experience. Definitely an eye-opening tour of San Diego, Point Loma and Coronado island. Bret and Daniel were awesome.
Great way to see the city sites and learn about San Diego. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommend.
Great tour from land to sea
Awesome! We had so much fun on this tour! We highly recommend this tour! Scott was really great and very knowledgeable.
It was great! I recommend it to anyone visiting.
Great tour. The captain and guide were excellent. A lot of good and interesting information was shared. It was a little bit cold given the odd weather last week but blankets were available .
We brought our family from out of town and loved it, our ride was very smooth even going from land to sea and vice versa, the tour guide had some really cool info on everything we drove and sailed and even took our photos on the water. Overall it lasted a little over an hour and we got to see the sea lions playing in the water and hanging out by the dock. This was during Covid in August so we did have to wear our masks the whole tour but with the wind, ocean air and shaded the whole time it wasnt bad at all, they did let us take off our masks for photographs.
Very good experience. The captain and tour guide Justine and Tom were very friendly and informative.
Very enjoyable and informational tour. Well worth every penny. We were pleasantly surprised to sail past the new lateral ship, Navy SEAL training ships, and floating socks fill of seals. Then an F-18 took off right over our heads! Great alternative views of the city. We took tons of photos.
Very informative class, passed easily on my first try because the teacher went on depth and gave a great outline.
This was a great experience. Would do it again.
It was a very thrilling adventure. The Captain and his mate Bret where very courteous and educated. Bret was amazing and got us laughing from the start. It was also handicap accessible. Well worth the money and time. My kids enjoyed the weather and the pictures we took. The seals where giving us a great poses.
Great fun for the whole family! Kiddos loved when we drove into the water!
We had a great time and our kids loved it
It was an awesome experience for me and my wife and gonna bring grandkids back sometime soon
The tour was nice we had a drink and relaxed on the deck..was a 2 hour tour.We use are Groupon coupon and couldnt. Beat the prices.took. some nice pictures.very relaxing !
Very unique adventure. Super fun!
It was the speed boat tour. Tons of fun!
A decent experience. There were several sections missing commentary.
The location on Google maps is wrong at the time of this review. The ticket booth and loading area is right next to the Bay Company store and the Indian Trails Gallery. The tour was awesome, I learned a lot of history and locations around the San Diego bay area. My tour guides, Steve and Brett were energetic, funny. We saw some sea lions also. This was my first time doing the tour however, this is not my first time seeing sea lions. They like to sun themselves in the afternoon. So I suggest doing a tour after 11am. Or when the sun is high and hot.
Cant really review, since they did not honor our reservations and could not go on a tour.
One week ago we went to the tour and it was EXTRA boring. There were only 5 seals, on which we were looking from a very far distance. Very old vintage music, very boring speech, and just very VEEEERY boring. But there was a one plus, me and my family slept really good during the tour. I don’t recommend it, don’t spend your money or time.
Hilariously fun. It was a wet and wild ride.
Captain Todd and 1st mate Johnny were the best. Johnny made the tour memorable. Thank you for the fun facts, the make believe facts and helping with picture taking.
THE.....MOST unique amphibious vehicle tours EVER! ONLY in....San Diego!!!!
Frank gave a phenomenal tour. Very knowledgeable! He made the trip very fun with his humor. I highly recommend this tour especially for the kiddos.
What a great time we had, the So Cal weather cooperated with us. The on-board staff were both friendly and courteous. The tour guide (1st mate) was funny and full of knowledge about the SD Bay. Highly recommend you take this tour.
What an awesome experience! I had Hal as our captain and Woody as our tour guide. Both gentlemen clearly knew what they were doing, and made the tour so much fun. I learned a lot, got to see sea lions and dolphins in the water, and laughed a few times along the way. Highly recommend this experience if you are ever visiting San Diego. What a delight!
Great tour. Worth every penny.
Very informative and fun. Recommend
Kids loved the tour. Especially when the tour went in the water
Our tour guide was great. The amphibious vehicle is awesome. We learned a lot about the history and culture.
It was okay. The people running it were nice. The trip felt short. It was just making a U turn around a dock with seals. Nothing too special
It was good experience recommend it for all ppl coming to san Diego
Its a cool way to visit the San Diego Bay.
Very friendly staff, they also were very knowledgeable. Even though our vehicle broke down they had another one to us quickly. Captain Justine and First Mate Woody wandered around to the different groups of people and had conversations with us while we waited. They were fantastic. And when we got on the new vehicle the rest of the tour was so fun!
This was a great out doors experience.. visit few new places in San Diego. Great view
Very educational and fun tour
The adventure.
Wonderful tour our guide Frank was fun and very informative about the San Diego bay area.
It was a very nice and informational tour
Its nice and clean️
The San Diego seal tour was exhilarating, exciting and absolute FUN ! it was like a mini trip around San Diego, the weather was lovely that day, I remember feeling the ocean breeze. The conductor was great and entertaining and quite friendly as well. Is definitely say if its your first time to San Diego definitely do the tours and start off with the Seal tour. We got to see the seals up close (enough) and see how they live and a couple of dolphins. It was so amazing!! 5 stars!!
Please let me start off by saying that the captain seemed very friendly, and asked me to check with the lady where the tickets were being sold. But thats where it went South, I dont remember the ladies name but she was very rude! She was an older white lady, with no customer service skills whatsoever. I would give only one star but like I said, the captain seemed very friendly. I hope shes not a permanent employee.
Good place to walk but not shop. Very pricy
Cool amphibious tour with a nice bay area history lesson
If you go to San Diego you must take the SEALS tour. The crew is very knowledgeable . I would recommend this tour company to everyone.
Took a friend visiting out of town.. nice tour focused a lot about the military . Most of the tour is spent in the water . Wish it toured more around downtown Petco Park, Gas lamp and convention center.
Cool funky tour. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. We saw sea lions lounging on a dock and dolphins being trained.
Oh my gosh! First Mate Brett and Captain Diego were awesome!! The tour today was informative and funny!! I loved every minute of it and it was so relaxing to watch the other boats and sea lions in the San Diego Bay!! I highly recommend this tour...Keep your cameras ready folks!!
So fun and up close
This is a simple ride through the harbor. The guide is entertaining but its definitely over priced. The highlight of the tour are the sea lions on a dock. Learning about the navy ships and seeing the submarine was cool too.
Loved it... one of the favorite things we did while we were here...
It was a fun and exciting thing to do. During our trip, there were a couple of fighter jets zooming out. Our Captain and 1st mate, Diego are funny and knowledgeable. They tried to make sure that everyone onboard esp. the kids are having a blast. Time at sea is relaxing. And yes, We did see a lot of seals asleep. Note: If you get both the seal tour and the old town trolley tour, they will give you a $10 discount on total amount.
Great tour. Captain and first mate were top notch. Friendly hosts. Scenery beautiful, water was friendly and with a nice breeze in s hot day. I highly recommend this tour
Very fun súper good experience
Kids really liked it nice way to kill an hour and a half
The tour guide made the tour fun and informative. They emphasized safety procedures. Seeing all the seals was interesting.
Thank you for a pleasant experience in San Diego bay..great team Dianne & Bret!
So much fun !!
It was a ok tour. I thought it got a little slow. And hard to stay intertainent. The staff was very nice and did there job. Just need to make it a little more interesting.....
Super fun spur of the moment trip. Really enjoyed all the information about the history of the area and the kids really liked seeing the sea lions.
This is a must do activity for any San Diego tourist! I loved it so much that I went again the same day and received an amazing discount. The guides are hilarious and extremely knowledgable about both seals and the entire San Diego area. The tour is 1.5 hours and youll wish it was longer. The transition from land to sea is seamless and the sea lions are remarkable. We had the rare treat of seeing a live sea lion birth! Dont miss this one!
It was very informative.
Fun tour of the city and bay. Had some trouble finding the place. You have to park and walk along the bay in order to find the ticket booth even on foot. But they were very accommodating when we asked to reschedule the tour since we couldnt find the place and missed our paid for scheduled time. When our boat broke down and we were stuck, Captain George worked quickly to keep us safe and get us back to land as quickly as possible. They offered a refund but we didnt take it. It was an adventure, hence the 4 stars.
Our super awesome cousin showed us around San Diego. The water and the view never disappoint us. It was more than we we expected. Will come back soon
This was more enjoyable than I anticipated. Frank and Fozie were great, Fozie drives while Frank narrates the tour. Youll learn some interesting facts about San Diego and Top Gun. I recommend this for families.
Great way to see the harbor
Its a wonderful time with the family. It just needs to fix their information about the Navy as there was multiple things they said was wrong.
Great tour.
Typical tour on slow moving vehicle. Little but of history (which I liked) and a while lot of dad jokes (mixed success and got old). SEAL is referring to see & land so dont think you are taking your kids to see seals - this part of the tour is just a few minutes.
Entertaining and learned a lot about the history of San Diego.
Tour the Harbor in Style, and have the cool Pics and experience with it. Not only is this vehicle cruising the streets but also the water too, like a boat, also get to learn alot of neat facts about the local military and surrounding areas. An experience like no other!! Definitely a must if in the Shelter Island area!!
Great tour! Lasts about 90 min. There are blankets aboard if you get chilly. Capt George and 1st mate Tom were amazing tour guides. Had a great time
Fun tour in a unique multiple purpose vehicle that shows all of the unique aspects of the San Diego harbour as well as the wildlife. They were also very considerate about the weather and actually had blankets available for the passengers so they can stay warm in areas where the breeze could get cold. Overall it was a fantastic experience.
Worth every penny! Great for all ages. Locals get a Hometown Pass. Yours free when you pay for visitor.
The tour is cute, they do cover some historical information which is interesting. It lasts about 1.5 hours and most of it is on the water. We saw lots of sea lions basking in the sun and some wild birds. They also hand out blankets and will go around taking your picture if you’re interested. Other than that, it’s a little pricey for what you get BUT if you’re from out of town and visiting San Diego for the first time, this would be a good experience
We saw this option through old Town trolly. My family liked the idea of the amphibious vehicle that wasnt a WW2 duck boat. This modern vessel delivered a fun adventure on land and sea. Frank our guide was knowledgeable and funny (at one point looked exactly like Willie Nelson!).
Great tour. Very knowledgeable staff and great tour
If you’re visiting San Diego for the first time I’ll highly suggest this tour. It’s fun and very informative. I just wished it lasted a bit longer on the water.
We went in mid-October and took my brother, who has some disabilities. This tour was fantastic! The guest relations, where we picked up the tickets, were friendly, kind and so helpful. The experience of being in a vehicle that goes from land to sea was awesome. My brother was in an electric wheel chair and he had a fantastic time! He loved being able to see everything up close and personal. However it was the tour guides Mark and Fozzy who made the whole experience extraordinary for my brother and us. They talked with him and took pictures with him: made him feel very special! They were fantastic tour guides, knowledgable about so many interesting details of my favorite city by the sea. They were engaging, professional, funny, kind guys! My brother is still talking about this experience! Thank you for such a special time. Ive told everyone I know about this experience. Thanks Marl and Fozzy!
Capt Diego and Mark were awesome! My first duck boat ride, even though we have them in Boston,I got some excellent pictures of seals and sealions!
Really cool experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.
If your visiting San Diego this is a must! So worth your time and money.
