Nice little secret. Plenty of parking, a pier for a fantastic view & picnic (& usually a lot of people fishing but you arent supposed to). The park is & looks new, spacious enough to not contact COVID-19. Has a public restroom & a lot of happy people especially kids. Also aerobic classes & other small groups gatherings (musicians, etc) can be found there. Very nice place for the kids, family, a date, or just yourself.
It is a gift to have a beautiful park that is spacious, clean and honors the community. Great option to host any event, contact the city for permits, permissions and details. Lots of space for local teams to practice. Even a nice location for a family reunion. Bathrooms were decent and centrally located in the park. Lots of parking available and a quarter mile from eateries, grocery store and Ryans coffee. Also a safe location to walk with friends because the parks sidewalks and grass area are maintained.#barriologan #lafamilia #cesarchavez
Nice park with nice views of the bay. They do have some seats at the end of the pier if you want to just sit and chill. I wouldnt go there at night though, Ive heard is a place for pot heads to hand out and I figure it could be a bit dangerous if you go alone at night. Shame though, the views would be nice at night.
Mellow, a good vibe if you want to be one with open scenery. Sometimes the construction is loud and there are shipyard workers sporadically around, but well worth the effortless time.
Great industrial park under the Coronado Bridge / I-5 transitions. Has tons of graffiti murals and a skate park.Makes for some great photos. Area has lots of events going on. Numerous good restaurants in the area. Park and walk around. Pier out the bay of San Diego just a couple blocks from here; also great for photos.
No shade. My friends and I cant sit in the sun for more than 10 minutes. Cant sit to enjoy the wondeful relaxing ocean water. Too many black SUV Escalades coming n going through the parking lot. Too many working business people walking around n consulting together. Its disruptive to the peacefulness of the park. Pretty green grass but look for the signs notifying the public of toxic pesticide spraying day. Bad for dogs to walk on and children to play on.
Some times find the navy teams exercising.so is fine place.
Ya and here is another place in San Diego I love to visit often because the fact they have a Fishing Pier.
Park needs some attention, good place to enjoy a quick breakfast.
What a great spot for day parties! Lots of room to set up and chill or dance the day away. Room for pop ups and chairs or blankets to sit on. Decent bathrooms, a lot of grass and a fun playground for the kids makes it an easy place to have an event. My daughter loves it because it’s close to the ocean and a fun place to play. there is a small parking lot but if it’s full there is parking along the road as well, and it’s not a far walk to even more parking in Barrio Logan. We love attending events here.
Great place to spend some time & check events.
Great place to sit and eat fresh fish tacos from Blue Angels Taco Truck!
Its a few minutes away from my location. Nice,Cool & Breezy with Great views of the San Diego Bay
Nice little park for a bbq and fishing
Today doesnt count!!!I crashed at Main and Cesar Chavez corner in fine.some injuries open kind bleed
Its a great park.
Liked the view of the Coronado bridge from here.
This used to be a dangerous neighborhood especially if you werent Mexican. Now its safe and clean with good amenities. Many homeless people in the area. Im happy about the positive change. This is an authentic Sandiego neighborhood. I highly recommend it.
Sometimes its pretty burnt but its a good Park
Nice area right by the port. You can watch the water and the boats come in. Very relaxing.
Lovely family place to visit and stroll. Located right along the bay you can see boats going in and out the harbor as well as the Coronado Bridge. Lots of people walking and on scooters and bikes. The fresh air is uplifting. No fishy smell. Parking may be tight but it is doable.
This is one of the most beautifull and rich culturally and dynamic urban parks in the city, the state, and the country. The heritage culture that Chicano Park holds in its true Nature of his spirit, is a gift to every one. The epic and historical birth of the mexica/mexican/and chicano culture can be found under the east skirts of the Coronado Bridge, That is too say, under the bridge portray on breath taken mural, filled with colors, passion, history love and struggle that spells its own history in colors.Chicano Park is welcoming to all people. Always shareing its art and love. Chican park is inclusive. United and commited.A must too see in San Diego check list. #SanDiegocity #CesarChavezPark
Beautiful lawn, and walking jetty right under Coronado bridge. Plenty of space to walk dogs and kids, and an attached huge ground that is usually reserved for big sports. This place is South of downtown and has a lovely view of the boat making port
The playground equipment has been updated! I was here over a year ago when they had the old boat and shark. There are still homeless hanging around, but they didnt bother us.
This park could be so nice if it werent so cold and windy
Over all good
Nice spot to take pictures, little walk down the pier. Bathrooms arent that clean, but they did have soap. Yes the people that dont have homes, will sometimes hangout at the tables, but I only see 1-2 people and they dont ask for anything. Well in my experiences there. Usually some type of sport or activity is going on in the grass area. Overall chill park.
Nice art.
Its a huge park, alot of different things to do,. MURALS are amazing.
What beautiful scenery and relaxing area. Gorgeous. Great place for families.
Awesome place to hang out
Great place to get away. Has been much cleaner the past couple years. Beautiful views and nice little playground.
Very peacefully park
For what it is compared to what it was, five stars. Green. Open fields for soccer, baseball, dogs. Bathrooms. New pier goes out pretty far. Free monoculars. No fishing. Walkable from trolley. Near Chicano Park.
Love this park, aka Crosby Park. It was very much a hidden gem for me, a non-native. Didnt know it existed, thanks to a birthday party, because it is not visible when driving in normal traffic. Aside from a good size field, big enough to fit 3rd, 4th & 5th graders, theres a play ground, a pier &, in my opinion, the cleanest bathroom facilities. Love feeling the cool breeze even on the warmest of days.
Great Pizza
I will never get over how beautiful this place is. The parking can be touch around sunset time so make sure to get there a little early. This is a unique and peaceful experience.
Nice park with a soccer field and a playground for the kids. I really like the platform overlooking the coronado bridge and island over san diego bay
It was a nice place to sit and have lunch
Nice place to walk on the day but at night to much homeless sleeping on the bridge
Love the looking at the Coronado bridge and ships coming in and out.
Nice small pier, good views of Coronado bridge
Fairly quiet with lots of wide open space. Businesss are nearby and friendly
Great views but a couple sketchy people. Overall a great park
Great little hideaway. Great views of the Coronado Bridge and sail boats. Picnic tables available.
Little hidden gem, if you need a quit work out park, practice soccer or just relax this is a good place. They have a kids play area, restrooms and a pier. Good area to see 4th of July fireworks
I have been looking for this park for ever, and finally I found it. My mom used to bring us here all the time, but I forgot the way to get there. But today I finally took my kids there, and they loved it. The park is still nice with the great bay view, unfortunately there still lazy transients hanging around the park. But beyond that I am so happy that I found this park.
Relaxing place to walk to or take your kids to play.
Fun, Scenic & Seculded little gem
Small and quite community park. Has night lights. Parking is really minimal.
Breezy n beautiful
Beautiful place! Comforting and relaxing spot. Kids friendly, and well maintained.
Having a great time in San Diego,
Great place for outdoor get together and play sports
Great views of the bridge.
A nice lil hang out spot. Recommend bringing a camera or drone to capture amazing footage or a selfie will do...
Its the best place to show off your lowlow
Nice place to visit n take a walk.
I just sent 4 pictures of the entrance. I like it here because its quite, beautiful, a little pier, a kids playground, soccer, and the Navy trains on the field.
It great,to see al the classic o cant way to go next year.
Park was fine, but horrible location because we were blocked by train for more than a hour and we couldnt leave. Dont make sense to have a public park where families with children can enjoy themselves, but then have no way of getting out because train would block the only way out.
IS FISHING ALLOWED HERE??
Nice place for private events
Its a beautiful place to bring family or a date
Quaint space with a nice view of the Cornado bridge
Peaceful and beautiful. Its a great place for the family.
We just need doors in the restrooms. Beautiful place to take the kids and play football.
I love it. Im here everyday.
Enjoyed an afternoon admiring the artistry of my Chicano neighbors.
This is a great place to admire and photograph Chicano culture. A little rough, but authentic.
Great views of the bay, nice little gem to find....clean bathroom access, plenty of picnic tables for gathering and chillin.
Nice family park hidden on the harbor front. At the end of Ceaser Chavez parkway .
Nice little park in a tough neighborhood. Bay access and a great pier for sightseeing.
Ive known this park since I moved to San Diego back as a child. Over the years, I would always find myself coming back here. From family parties, to soccer games, to quiet nights with friends. It is by no means a great view but a good place to stop by and get away from all the hectic sprawl in downtown. One thing I warn, however, is coming here late at night. There is a fair amount of suspicious people that despite not knowing their major intentions, one should be very cautious. It is nearby Barrio Logan which isnt the safest areas in San Diego.
Had my 34th birthday potluck here with friends. Had a nice time. There IS a bathroom, I made an error when answering questions on Google Local Guides or whatever. Um...Just a really beautiful, sweet park. With bathrooms! lol
Excellent local Chicano & cultural history..the writing is on the wall.
Nice chicano park
Great oceanview, Good place for pictures.
New small playground and cute pier. But field is closed for maintanence currently
Nice park on the water, but it is an urban park. (Smells from the ship yards, people sleeping in park, etc.)
Ir brings back memories
No parking during the week due to workers using the lot. Some homeless presense most of the time.
Great little park- They just installed benches on the pier so now you can enjoy the ocean all the way out. Also a good sized field. There are usually a few homeless people there, but I have spent a good amount of time here and have never had any problems with them.((Theres also a Pokemon go gym and a few pokestops ))
It is right by the bay and has a play ground
Wish there was more parking
Whats beautiful is the whole Bay Front. This park has HISTORY!!! This place use to fish TUNA & gave jobs to many single women with kids & banked. Theyre no longer there but my friends Mom story lives on.
