My favorite dog park in California and Nevada! Its huge compared to any others Ive been to. Its well kept, people pick up after their dogs and are nice about holding the water fountain for dogs other than their own. Really peaceful place to bring your dog to run and play with other dogs. All sizes are in together and sometimes there is a small child or 2 so be careful if your dog doesnt like children. Lots of room to run or play fetch with your 4 legged friends.

Nates Point Dog Park is a great place to bring your furry kids to come and stretch out their legs and to socialize with other doggies. I’ve been coming here for years now and it’s a wide and long area for them to play and fetch the ball, it’s never to crowded and they have doggy bags for when your furry kids do their business. It has some great views of the bridge, the museum of us and it’s it’s located conveniently by the freeways. There’s always plenty of parking close by, they have water fountains for you and your furry kids. It’s mainly all dirt with plenty of trees scattered around the park. They have one picnic table but I wouldn’t recommend eating your meals on it, it tends to smell like urine around the entrance of the park but that’s expected at dog parks. It would be nice if they added more seating or a dog playground. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. The Haunted Trails is located close by in October.

Moved to SD a few months ago so Ive been trying a handful of dog parks in the area. I love that this park is in Balboa Park, as it is so beautiful! The dog park itself is super spacious and fenced in, so it is perfect for dogs who like to explore and roam around on their own. There is a good amount of seating and tons of room throughout the park to maintain distance from others.

If you love dogs, this is an ideal place! I recently lost my furry babyy after 10 glorious years...I needed to see some furry four legged critters. Found comfort in this place. There were doggies of every size playing in a safe, enclosed doggie park, in a beautiful area of Balboa Park accompanied by their owners. A great place to take doggies!

A nice and large fenced dog park. Enough room to separate yourself from other dog owners. However there is alot of homeless traffic traveling through the park, mostly starting at dusk. On multiple occasions weve witnessed a homeless person enter, the dogs would get riled up and the person would threaten to kick/harm the dogs. In short: great mixed dog park with plenty of friendly owners during the morning - afternoon; beware late afternoon - night.

Tucked on the southwest end of Balboa Park along 6th avenue is this really neat leash free dog park that allows pets owners to socialize while their furry kids play. We bring our dog here and have never had any issues with dog aggression. Most of the dogs are well socialized and friendly and with restroom facilities nearby, and the heart of the park about 100 years away makes for a perfect day at the park. There is a dog friendly water fountain and plenty of trash cans for waste if your dog drops a deuce.

Best off leash dog park in San Diego, in So Cal as far as I am concerned - and as far as my dogs are concerned! Nates is located in Balboa Park the views are absolutely beautiful. The off leash area is huge. I walk my dogs around the perimeter several times in each visit. Plenty of shade trees and lots of dogs to play with in most days.

I enjoy taking my dog here. Owners wear your gym shoes because there is no grass and you will get dirty. Expansive fenced in area but no separation between big and small dogs so if that’s what you’re looking for this space is not for you. Just like anything else keep an eye on your pup, some owners seem apprehensive to step in and reprimand dogs when some things escalate. Lots of sun, but there’s a water fountain for your pup and enough shade to find a place to sit if need be!

My dog is not the social butterfly, and it made me nervous to come here. I had him on a leash. He impressed me so much, he loved the ample space, friendly dogs everywhere was happy to pet them and toss them a ball. It’s clean and despite being a dog park it has a fantastic view of San Diego. I really recommend it here, especially for locals. Sadly I’m not a local so I can’t come as often as a I like

Nates Dog Park is a great place to let your pup run around without a leash.Great location on the Bankers Hill side of the Balboa Park bridge. There is a lot of parking around that area, and its rare that I cant find a spot. The park itself is gigantic. Much larger than most dog parks in San Diego. It has a double gate that helps prevent unleashed dogs run out. There is also a water fountain that accommodates people and dogs. Also, poop bag stations make for convenient poop pickup. Youll see an assortment of sizes from tiny Chihuahuas to Mastiffs. Its almost unheard of to see a fight or anything.

My dog loves this park! They have a water fountain for dogs and people and poop bags available. As you can see from the pictures though its mostly dirt which sucks. Also theres no divide for big and small dogs so my 120lb girl constantly has to be moved away from terrified chihuahuas. This park is enormous and has multiple entrances already so it would be an easy fix. And grass would make it perfect.

Really big space for the dogs to run and get some energy out. My pup had a lot of fun! I found that there are only a couple of tables for dog owners to sit and one doesnt provide shade, it would be nice if there were more that provide shade. The water fountain only partially works which makes things a bit inconvenient. The area is enclosed but all dirt/sand, I really wish that there was some grass, it would have been easier on the dogs in hot days as well as less messy.
