Nice grassy area to chill with family. Plenty of room to spread out. They have a little playground for kids.
Although is may look small it has enough room for everyone. Playground, picnic tables, scenic views, room for soccer, yoga, blanket picnics plus room for dogs
Nice park, with lots of grass, picnick benches, and playground. It has a nice view of Mission Valley. Parking can be a little difficult.
Clean park with lots of open space. Plenty of room for sporty activities as well as kids.
Its a pretty nice park! Kinda small, but its not bad to just sit and relax there. People definitely need to pick up their trash though because there are plenty of garbage cans and recycling cans as well.
Wonderful Park Loved It Its A Beautiful Place To Relax And Enjoy The Day
Great for social distancing picnics. Lots of space and a view of the canyon.
Eccellent community park tucked away in university heights. Great overlooks and plenty of open lawn.
Cute neighborhood park. Clean. No homeless.
No bathrooms. Great park otherwise.
Kind of a lot of bumps there. And dog poop
Trolley Barn Park is one of the best playgrounds in San Diego county! They have everything your little one needs to have fun. They have swings, 2 play areas; one for toddlers and another for bigger kids with a rubberized floor, sand pits, a large grass field, tables with tiled chess/ checkers boards, and concrete picnic tables. It is clean and spacious. Great place for your little one to make friends and socialize. Lots of eateries in close proximity. And theres even a bus stop right in front for easy commuting.
Nice place, dog friendly, kept up grounds
Its great but no restrooms!
Beautiful spot but parts of the park are poorly kept and it tends to get overcrowded. I was there around 6:30pm, which is prime dog walking and workout time so maybe Im negatively biased. Try coming during off hours and bring a chess set! ;)
Its very clean park play ground is close due to covid but its a great spot to walk ride and bike plenty of grass to lounge
A kewl chill parkGreat mv viewsCasual localsLots of grass sitting
Great park. No bathrooms.
Nice park but no bathroom.
Tree-surrounded delightful little park.
Beautiful, well-maintained and happy considerate people often picnicking at this neighborhood park. Only thing missing is a bathroom.
Small beautiful park with street parking on both sides. Nice grassy area, with oval loop around, with park benches at corners and benches around. Small play structure.
Beautiful park, was very clean and maintenance looked up to par.The only thing, is there are no restrooms.
Cute little park we came upon while out walking around. On the ground, they have sidewalks that mirror the local streets. Nice view from the edge of the park. No bathroom that I could see.
Its a clean, well-kept little park! The photos others posted are a little misleading, its not a huge - or even large - park. My doggy and I walked the entire park twice in about 25 minutes. Still, the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful, so, we just extended our walk that way! Very zen park, great for small children to spend a few hours in!
Its a nice park all in all but its always a bit crowded for my taste whenever Ive been. I also have seen they randomly will have a community garage sale which is awesome if only they made more public the when and how to register a spot.-/+Street parking (maybe a small lot around the backside(?) (but dont quote me on that) and parking can sometimes be difficult depending on time of day/night you go+/- Playground+Large open grassy areas+Trees/shade+Picnic tables+/-(side)Walkways+Dogs allowed (on leash)
Lots of space in the grassy areas. Your typical big kid vs little kid jungle gyms. I personally liked ther mini rock climb portion of the big kid gym for my 2 year old to try and problem solve ascending.
Love this place, its small, but nice to sit and look at the view, nice restaurant close by for take out
Sometimes me and my kids will go and explore different parks and other entertaining places.I have seen this park before and decided to stop and take a look. The grass is fairly nice, jungle gyms are cool for the kids and adults, just wished that there wasnt so many animals using it as a bathroom. Will make a point to visit again.
Small, well maintained neighborhood park with a playground and plenty of green grassy space for a picnic. Trash cans and recycling available.
Great views of mission valley from up top
Wonderful spot to picnic!
This park is decent, it would have been a 5 stars if the pot heads that flooded the children’s area hadn’t shown up. There were kids present and they did not care, they went east on Adams when they were done polluting the park(white female/blonde hair-medium build with a Hispanic looking man) they should be ashamed of themselves.
I visited this park many years ago, however I had forgotten all about it. My sister and I were in the area and decided to find a park to let my son run off some energy before going out to dinner and she mentioned this park. This is a wonderful park with gorgeous views and ample street parking. There is a kids play area which larger than a lot of parks and updated with nice padding on the ground. The swings are off to the side and located in sand. There are two toddler swings and 2 regular swings. There are three tables with boards painted on for either checkers or chess which is a nice feature. These items are all located behind the grassy area so it is not right against the street. There is plenty of green space for lounging or playing. There are nice shaded areas as well. There are more benches than most other parks so you can relax while watching your kids play. While there are no actual bathrooms there are port a potties. The park overall is very well maintained. Since the park is located at the top of a hill there is a change of some wildlife. While we visited recently we watched a snake come from the area where the checkers/chess tables are and slither to the playground. The only thing I would mention is this is a dog friendly park so if kids are scared of dogs, that would be the only downside.
Great place to relax or play with kids. Overlooking mission valley.
Lots of history, great family park!
Its very clean, lots of kids to play with in varying ages, the jungle gyms are well maintained, the grass is soft. Very pleasant.
The park was always good
Its cool. Great for small kids. great view of mission Valley!
Great park with occasional community events. Trees (shade!), Open grass for running, playing catch or fetch. A few cement picnic tables. The missing star is for no parking lot and usually-filled street parking. And unless there is an event, NO bathroom or portapotties. (tough for bringing kids working on potty training, or hanging out for a longer period of time)
One of the best parks in San Diego. Great space, always lots of little ones running aound having a great time. Would be a 5 if they only had restrooms!
Nice subtle breeze and lots of trees providing shade to stay cool. the benches are far away enough from the playground to be able to focus on a book, I flew through like 5 chapters with no distraction :) loved this little park
My kids played here, now theyre teens, snifflesStandard playground, nice park, great history, no bathroom.
Great open space with a small play area
A very cute park. Its great for well behaved kids and pets
My neighborhood park. Great for outdoor hang outs with friends or family
Great place to photograph my dogs
No bathrooms! Very limited parking. Great play equipment. Park has grills and picnic tables
I love this park! Even when we didnt live nearby we would still drive over here to come to Trolley Barn. It is clean, the big grassy area is awesome for picnics or soccer with little ones and they have summer concerts in the park. The one and only downside is the lack of restrooms.
Super fun park and well taken care of. This place offers free community events like movies at the park or concerts at the park that in my opinion are a great opportunity for the community to get to know each other. Green grass and tall bushy trees along with a playground for the kids make this place a 5 star. Also because it has pick nick areas with tables and grills and the view of SD is also great!
Its a small but relaxing park in a quiet neighborhood. Hill overlooking Mission Valley presents gorgeous views. I dont want to recommend it so it can stay uncrowded.
Great park. Sometimes it gets packed with the big kids running everywhere. My kid loves the swings.
Busy beautiful small local park.
Cool park for kids during the day. Very safe. Great park for adults at night to chill great view. Maybe hit a dubee
Fun park for all ages. Swings, playsets, sandboxes and grassy areas. There are a lot of mature trees for shade and hills for rolling around. Id recommend getting take-out and having a picnic!
Cute and small park. No restrooms but it a nice calm place to take your kids and pets to play. In the perfect area too. Many good family memories.
Great play park for kids. We visited most days we were in the area.
Very clean park with lots of space and lots of playing room for the kiddos. Only downside is no bathrooms.
Nice size family oriented park. Nice size formall children play ground. Delighted summer concert afternoon. Safa place to spend the day.. Dog only on leash.. ($72 ticket by police if caught with no leash).. And please pick up after your dog.. U will get a $92 ticket for no picking up after your fog if police present.
Lots of good doggos
Good facilities, clean, generally pretty busy spot. friendly vibe from kids and parents.
Nice little park
My dad brought me here as a kid many times. I brought my son recently. It is still a great park!
We adore this park. The only real downside is that there are NO bathrooms. :(
Big park with lots of room for the kids to run and play. Decent playground with 2 separate playground castles that have slides, ladders, and tunnels. This park would be nice to have a family picnic and/or birthday party with a bounce house.
Great neighborhood park.
Amazing neighborhood park.
Once place to hang out. Grassy area to play catch, playground for kids, bbqs and checker tables too. Unfortunately SD doesnt take the best care of our wonderful park.
Briella favorite park as a kid, glad we celebrated Kings 3rd birthday here
Beautiful views, perfect lunch spot, dog lovers and friends chatting. So few open spaces that dont feel urban temporary this is solid ground, shoeless grass and not adult friendly swing set. Cool wit it
One of San Diegos hidden gems. Located in University heights, it has some great views of mission valley from the hillside. Also a great place for a gathering or a picnic. They even have BBQ grills. Great area for the kids and even toddlers to play.chapter way and almost hidden in this corner of San Diego but worth looking for.
Fairly small park, but theres lots of grass and a nice view. Just be aware theres only street parking.
Nice neighborhood park
This is were i have my child visit amd i love it
I really want to give it 4-1/2 stars. Nice park. Very good for the 2-7 year old set. Great view of Mission Valley. Lots of places to sit. Long grassy area. There is a plaque explaining the name of the park.
Fun place
Its a great park. It has something for everyone. Grass field, playgrounds, chess tables, valley views, dog park, and lots of trash cans.
Good park but some kids were unattended and keep pushing and not playing well with other kids
A very nice park, with an excellent play structure, but be warned: there is NO bathroom!
Nice park. Has a big kid and little kid play area. Two baby swings and two normal swings. Nice surrounding community and lots of space to run around.
It is a park! Grass and people and all
This is my favorite park! So family friendly. Clean grassy area where lots of people lounge and picnic or just hang. I love coming here!
Lots of shade and space for children to play while others relax on the grass! Really enjoy the sand boxes they are a good hang out spot for the little ones not comfortable with play equipment yet!
Beautiful park with a nice playground. Finding good parking could be difficult on weekends
Lovely view of mission valley. Good diversity of sand, grass, rubber play areas and older kid vs younger kid play structure. Downside no bathrooms. So alike sure you and your child have peed and done business before heading here
Lived one half block from here for 15 years.Lovely little slice of San Diego Parkland. Name Trolley Barn Park because trollies used to sleep here at night.Eucalyptus, indigenous to Australia ring the park. Leaves boiled can be put into a bath.Great playground for kiddos!Water fountain and benches to sit, eat, have parties.1/3 mile walking path.Bus 11 . Stops here.Be nice to our harmless homeless. Folks around here are usually well cared for and take care of themselves.Yogis. Buddhists and martial artists sometimes congregate here along with dogs and their owners (on leash please).
Kids love it. Great grassy area for parents to relax if they arent out there playing with the kids!
