Even with a pandemic, CNM is great to visit and to take beautiful scenic pictures. Although they close at 5pm, we got to see the sunset. We arrived before 4 and there were still plenty of people and more coming in. The cost is $20 per vehicle unless you have a national park pass or are a member of the military, then its free. They also charge $10/person if you walk in.

Great place with own history! There are a couple of parking lots. So you always have a parking place. The territory of the park is clean - no garbage around. There is a clean restroom which is important. There are amazing landscapes! You can take awesome pictures! There is a pebble/rocky beach. It is also good for taking pictures, enjoying fresh sea air and just having rest.

We visited the tide pools (high tide) and still had a great time walking around and exploring with 3 kids under 10. Some areas we had to climb down to get to some rocks, need to be careful its not something they can do by themselves in areas. But had a great time nonetheless. Check times for when low-tide is to really see the wonder of the water come to life. It was about 3ish today (Nov. 30th) Enjoy!

Juan Rodrigues Cabrillo, a Portuguese navigator, found San Diego in 1542 and landed at this site. Its now a National Park and located within a Naval Base. The views are spectacular and you can view San Diego in panorama from this location. The National park entrance pass is $35 for year round access, but the $80 for access to all National parks may be a better value. Covid update: the museum gift shop is open. Theres several rangers available to help answer questions or give you ideas for hiking trails in & around the area. The rangers also have a water table calendar so that you know when to see the tide pools. It typically has to be -0.5 or -1.5 low tide in order to see the tide pools. Winter time is best, but on Sept. 17 @3:45pm the tide will be -0.5 below. October is also Whale migration season so the whale watching will be in full swing. Enjoy!!!

Point Loma is one of my favorite spots to visit in San Diego! On the one side near the Cabrillo monument, you get the full view of the city. You can spot some planes taking off or arriving! And on the other side, if you walk towards to the light house, you get a breathtaking view of the majestic Pacific! This place is worth all your time for a visit! You’ll leave amazed! :)

Beautiful views of the Air Station, downtown, Coronado Island, the great San Diego harbor, and the Pacific ocean to the west. Entering the Cabrillo National Monument run by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service. Climbing out of his boat and onto shore in 1542, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo stepped into history as the first European to set foot on what is now the West Coast of the United States. I enjoyed my trip to Cabrillo National Monument. My family enjoyed our trip here. It was pretty cool.

We visited during covid-19 (August 2020) We have been here before. But this national monument never disappoints. Beautiful views, oceanfront with ocean breezes. They have the old lighthouse up high on the cliffs and there is a new lighthouse down below bathrooms were open and clean. Mostly everyone visiting was social distancing and wearing masks. The visitor center and lighthouses are closed due to covid-19.

Great place to get away from today beach crowds while still enjoying the ocean. There are tide pools accessible at low tide and a few small cave-like pockets. High tide brings fun splashes if you get closer to the cliff and there is an uphill walk/hike to the lighthouse if you want exercise versus driving up.

Beautiful trails by the ocean with a great breeze on a very hot day. Visitor center, lighthouse, and exhibits were closed still but the view was gorgeous! The tide pool trail was beautiful. Really the only place to really get a birds-eye view of San Diego. If you are visiting the Tidepools, it is not enough to note when the low tide is. Youll want to select a time when it is both a low tide and the tide height drop is low enough to expose the tide pools. The bigger the drop the more pools and exploring youll see!!!!!
