Very cool hidden gem in San Diego (in my opinion). Let it be known Im not a skater and the Robb Field Park is fairly large especially considering its location but the skate park looks pretty cool, to me. Usually on weekday afternoons and often even weekend days there are scores of young people (very young i.e. lower-middle school) involved in various soccer activities. There are also tennis courts, baseball diamonds and a running/walking path along the canal. Seems to have ample parking. I have been there during various day parts when its very busy and when there are no more than 5 cars in the extensive lot. That being said, if youre not involved in said soccer activities Id suggest looking elsewhere to enjoy the outdoors if its a weekday between the hours of 3-7pm. That entire area is very hectic during that time. They do have multiple bathroom facilities as well. As always, make sure to do your homework, checking weather and real-time traffic conditions, highly advised.
Not overcrowded, but a ton of sand trying to mess up the bearings
Amazing park, terrible attitudes. Volunteers would go a long way in making this park more enjoyable for everyone. Adults yelling at kids, kids terrifying everyone with recklessness... Keep the skate park SAFE for everyone.
Its my favorite skate park in SD bc the transition configurations allow for maximum flow haha. The ground isnt the smoothest in the bowls, but they work... Cant blame the ground. There are not many street skating features which is probably why people like other parks better, but thats fine. I like the smaller crowds, easy parking, and proximity to the beach
We went on a week day so there was only a handful of other people there which was great. Its a pretty good size with a lot of different eliminates to it. Lots of bowls and some rails some big and small. Its great for both beginners and experienced. Theres a great breeze that you get from the bay which is right behind the park. Five stars all day long!
A clean well maintained public skate park.
Well maintained huge park. Lots of free parking. Lots of games going on. Would have given 5 stars, but half the bathrooms were closed for some unknown reason.
Good hesh spot ...not much of a street course area.
Great experience. Never learned to drop in before and I got it down in a day with a help of some guy named Noah I met at the park. Chill vibes and plenty of space in the morning
Definitely not for an unexperienced skateboarder
Huge skatepark, super quiet in the morning and perfect for beginners. Plenty of features for all skill ranges... Also a water fountain there which was a huge bonus
This is one of my favorite skateparks in San Diego, its a little more worn out, but it big good for skateboards, scooters, and bikes. Has multiple bowls, rails and areas to drop in regardless of skill level.
Great place for the kids to ride.
The park is part of a bigger recreation area. Not a lot to do for the beginner and it was pretty crowded with a skate camp. Us moms sat outside the park on a small picnic bench. This park has no attendant. Ample parking and a restroom was nearby.
Park blows its a daycare for kids & their oblivious parents stand by and watch doing nothing while their kids almost break everyones shins and cause accidents by going the wrong direction every 5 seconds
Great feel to the park. Really chill vibe. The bowls are super fun
Absolutely romantically beautiful....old school panache.Lol...smile
Concrete pools and ramps various sizes. Clean and friendly environment! I intended just a quick 20 minute skate, I was having so much fun 2 hours flew by!
Beautiful Location in Ocean Beach... the park itself need a bit of updating but the local crowd is chill and its great for kids of all ages and skill levels.
My kids love this place and so do I..real skaters there also some pros from time to time great invoronment
Really good place but if you dont like a environment that people smoke thats not the place
A great place to bring your kids and go skating for the day. There are public restroom, shared places to sit and plenty of places for the young budding skater to learn a few tricks. The crowd is courteous and have jumped on to help my son slate a number of times.Pack a lunch, bring some water and youll have plenty of things to enjoy while here, from dog beach to skating to bird watching.
Learned to do a kickflip here
Great place to take my daughter
Still another great concept thats poorly executed. While theres no one overwhelming flaw, the many little flaws ruin this park.A low grade concrete was used on the transitions and is now degraded to the point of being as rough as asphalt. A fall may cost you a sizable amount of skin. The transitions are a bit tight and inconsistent. The coping is set unevenly. There is nothing over 4 and a half feet.I had to pump real hard to make the coping and roll outs just werent going to happen.Im sure with time I could find the right timing and line to make this work. I will skate this again only with larger, softer wheels. In spite of rating this a 3, I think its worth checking out for yourself, especially if you have time to fit in visits to other nearby skateparks.
Very large park with many fields to play sports, big night lights for soccer at night and well taken care of, lots of parking, very spacious many different parking lots in areas, and right next to where there is a 24 hour dog walk Park off the leash, very convenient and near the beach and very spacious during the day especially when there are no games going on, great place to bring your dog as well as your kids.
Epic skate park, good for beginners and experts alike, with plenty of space to move even with many riders
Great place! Good for beginners and pros
Better to go in the off-hours when its not so crowded. The park is free which means it can get extremely crowded. They allow scooters bikes and rollerblades also so it can get a little hairy.
Love how laid out this is
Always a great place for all forms of organized athletic competition; soccer, soft ball, tennis, rugby, etc. Dont forget the well stocked work out stuff in the gym.
Great parkInteresting options/line combinationsGreat for beginning to intermediate levels, or an old dude looking to get some cardio and skate legs back.
Lots of fun to be had here
Great skate park
Perfect skate park, with short and long pools, rail game, good transitions, speed bump and love that I can skate with my surf skate and draw big lines too.Amazing spot.
Good skate park had lots of amazing jumps and even a little vert section.
Turkey bowl 8am 2 losses
The thought of a water front skate park is cool, but you will not get the Venice feeling here. Its located along the San Diego river about a mile from the outlet in to the ocean. But you wont see it from within the park. Now the park; The park is pretty much all vert. No street obstacles can be found here, so if you like street more than vert, like me, this is not the park for you. Most of the obstacles were not completed with coping, and through the damage of the years, most edges are not grindable with trucks only slides and stalls. The distance between walls in the big bowl are so far apart that youll find time to read the newspaper, fart, or even start a new hobby before you reach the next wall. Dont take up scootering in this time! There are 2 more bowls with a spine transfer dividing them. The park clearly states that this is for skate boards, but youll still find some pretty thuggish looking bmx riders here. I saw more bikes than skateboards in my 5 min of being here. There was no street so i left! If youre vert, have fun!
Great for familys outings
My son loves this place. He skates and uses his scooter. Everyone is friendly.
This is one of the first skateparks in San Diego when the city began investing about 15 years ago. I give it credit as a valid attempt but the obstacles are too small for how far apart they are. Plus the concrete is really rough and needs a lot of wax to slide.
Great park! It has a little bit for everyone.
Cool spot
Almost always have parking and bathrooms are usually clean.

Ive been there 100 times
Mi Grandson was very happy
Its not a great park unless you go there often
My son loves this skate park. Very clean. Kid friendly and perfect for the younger ones learning to ride. They havde a bigger park in the back for the adults.
