Dog friendly neighborhood park loved by all. Kids enjoy the park almost as much as their grandparents do. No drama, very relaxing place to have a picnic with your closest friends or family.

A great place. Always beautiful flowers that change with the season. First the azaleas, camellias then the tulips, then the cherry trees then the roses. I love this place. I do plein air paintings there throughout the year and it is always beautiful. I think the most beautiful garden in the city and possibly the world.

I usually get an annual membership. The gardens are beautiful. They have both paved paths and dirt paths that you can walk on. Its a very peaceful place that makes you feel like you have escaped Los Angeles and its a wonderful way to get in some walking exercise.

Really nice view, enough room for soccer games, with restrooms available.

Typical park in the middle of a neighborhood. It does offer a baseball diamond, a good playground, two very basic bathrooms, and space for a soccer field. The parking is simply insufficient for the average ball game. When two teams and their parents show up, all of the cars spill out onto both adjoining streets. The grass is very well kept, and mowed, and mostly free of any kind of weeds or brown patches. I did not see if there is a water fountain on site.

I like the overall aesthetic, and have some really good memories from childhood here, but the fact that some of the metal components are rusting beyond reasonable safety guidelines is dragging it down. Specifically the large batting cage and the fences are somewhat dangerous, if carelessly approached or slipped on.

Its not a large park but it is flat enough for those who may have mobility limits to get around. This is helpful for those who may be in a wheelchair to enjoy this tree lined park on the edge of a large canyon. Play area for kids is well cared for and a suitable bathroom exists plus theres a drinking fountain for people and pets. Adequate lights for a night visit in this very safe and quiet little neighborhood.

Check whether the building is open before you come if you come to Balboa park for the Botanical building. Im definitely not a plant type of person, but this place did whoa me!!!! One more thing, even outside was super hot, inside of the building was chill!!
