LOVE LOVE LOVE Mission beach!!! Always a must for me when we visit Cali!!! So much to do in one place for the whole family!!! The cool ocean water and relaxing waves were the perfect pair for a Saturday evening. Not to mention entertainment for days while people watching plus great spots for dining and drinking. An absolute beautiful place to enjoy the low southern Cali temps while taking in the crisp ocean breeze! Looking forward to going back again very soon!

Always a great time @ Mission Beach Had a great time with my wife. We got some great shots with the camera, and enjoyed some wetzels pretzels on the beach. We grabbed some beer from a local bar, and enjoyed our day on the beach. Nice day honestly, although got foggy.

Not worth visiting. Everything is super dirty, gross, and tons of seaweed on the beach. The restrooms smelled like and looked like outhouses. I’m giving two stars for the nice waves and sand. If you’re looking for a nice beach to hang out at, this isn’t one of them.

We love staying steps from the beach. This location is perfect with a great view, yet set back from boardwalk about 20 feet so that we can see folks on the boardwalk, but they are not looking into our window. The jacuzzi feels great after swimming, for both parents and our kids. I love BBQing dinner while overlooking the water and sunset. Walking to Belmont and bike rental shop very easy.

With 109 thousand plus reviews views, more than 9 million photo views and a master photographer badge, Please like the review if you find it helpful. This is a review for the beach and the boardwalk together. There is no separate listing for the beach. I think this is the busiest beach in San Diego. It has narrower strip of sand than others. The board walk is nice but crazy busy with bikes e bikes skateboards on the weekend than other nights. Parking is a challenge as well. The board walk is nice long stroll or walk when you experience it outside of rush times.4 stars because water is cold in mid July. So amoung swimming beaches it will not rank high. There are waves for surfing.

Only California can give you the ocean waves like this. LA is cool, but San Diego has that laid back feeling you cant get anywhere else. We chill like that. Walk, skate, run, bike, eat or kick it on the beach or in the waves. Rent a hotel room or a condo right on the beach and experience Cali life like a native. Just about anything you want to eat is within walking distance. Enjoy. Its San Diego.

Havent been to Mission Beach and Belmont Park in too many years. Its not the same beach I grew up around which isnt necessarily a bad thing because the boardwalk has grown up too! I only gave 4 stars because I miss the kickback hometown feel but at the same time Im loving the modern look, and upscale bars and restaurants. But most of all we still have some of the most beautiful sunsets to behold and share.

We have been waiting for a year to make our first trip to San Diego and we selected to spend our time at Mission Beach. The vibe, the people, the food and the scenery of the beautiful waves did not disappoint! Walking the boardwalk was fun, so many vendors and restaurants to check out. Everyone was vigilant of wearing their masks, of course there were some who didnt. If you havent been here, you need to check this beach out. We will definitely be back!

Whenever Im in the area I make sure to swing by take a stroll on the beach. Midday during the week is perfect for avoiding the large crowds. Countless restaurants and bars to choose from right next to the beach. You can spot volley being played. The boardwalk complete with little cabins. People from all over the world speaking different languages taking pictures admiring what America has to offer. I love walking along the sand barefoot while waves crash against the shore help to disconnect from the chaos of life and reconnect with the planet we take for granted. I highly recommend

Great place for a walk, bike ride, skating, or roller blading. The sidewalk is a bit narrow though.Just a word of caution, all of the bathrooms are nasty. Theres one bathroom with a wire net roof and pigeons roosting above. Take care to not get pooped on!Otherwise this beach is a bit windy, perfect for kite flying.

Love the area. Lived in the area 1968 to 1971. Revisited a number of times since. Always enjoy the vibe. Although during June you dont get the true California feeling because it tends to be cloudy and cool. We had two days of sunshine out of 8 days there but they were glorious! Always entertaining to people watch.

Social distancing seemed to be on peoples minds for the most part when it came to the people during weekdays who were on the actual beach itself. This doesnt diminish the beach itself which seems fairly clean, well managed and properly maintained besides the inevitable sand on the walk itself, again, thats just how it is. If you want that Real california beach vibe and arent worried about a small walk from parking, you can enjoy this place no problem. Hopefully things clear up and the beaches can be fully safe for the public. Until then, try to stay safe, wash your hands and social distance whenever possible! Awesome beach, love skating here too!!!

A great place to visit anytime of the year. Belmont Park gives you food, drinks, and rides for all ages. The boardwalk itself is a visual feast for the eyes, but keep your head on a swivel to avoid being hit or walking into the path of someone else. There isnt a lot of room for group selfies during peak usage, but if you can score a secluded spot you will not have any shortage of scenic backdrops to pose against.

I like to walk with my mom the whole length of the boardwalk and really enjoy it. I like to watch people riding their bikes or skateboards. I like to see other walkers like me. It is a great experience. What I dont like and that is the reason of minus one star is all the drunks laying there on the floor in different areas of the boardwalk. To me it ruins the experience. Another negative is the lack of cleanliness in some areas. People need to take care of this Gem and cleanup after their pets !
