Super nice museum, free, definitely worth visiting if you’re strolling along the ex-barracks at Liberty Station. It’s very small (only one room), but full of information and very inspiring. The attached gift shop is a jewel in and of itself, and the lady who works there is a wonderful woman who deserves 10/10 for excellent manners and outstanding customer service. We loved it and definitely recommend it!
Important exhibit celebrating 100 years of womens right to vote. Very informative overview. Only negative criticism is that they had nothing of significance in the gift shop that was geared toward young girls. If youre not celebrating and teaching the importance of womens contributions to society and culture to young girls you have no future.
Well they post on the Facebook 4/14/18 there is no fee, when I get there with my kids they are asking $3 for student, $5 for adult and free for military to enter and I show the guy the ad dont say nothing about paying and e look at with mean face and said Oh well we have to make money some way this is a non profit organizaction I left because the way he spoke with me I do have military ID and I can pay to no problem but is attitude was really poor. For me this is about principles and you guys show that you dont have none. Is a shame you guys act like that what a shame... Que verguensa especialmente por ser womens museun.
Interesting Points in Womens Rights History ( within the USA ) are Show Cased. Small Place and Operation.. Nice and Helpful Staff ( Volunteers, I believe )!
Great little museum and lovely gift shop. Exhibit focuses on womens role in WWII. Free admission for military. $3 for students. $5 general admission. Dont miss this one.
The place is functions off volunteers from local women founders to create a space that will inspire the young and relive for the old. The exhibits are well orchestrated and the gift shop is so cute (although over priced for a good cause). Theres only 4 womens museums in the country and the fact that this is the largest says we have so much to learn and that needs to be funded!
Many old pictures and documents. A small museum with history of feminism.
Stopped by the museum on First Friday at the recommendation of a volunteer I met at another event. Very impressed by the tile and mosaic exhibit currently at the museum. Absolutely gorgeous! And free wine and snacks for First Friday? Its a go!Also, a fun little gift shop. I purchased some tweezers that look like fashion plates!
The amount of history of the womens struggle this museum was able to encompass in one room is incredible. The womens movement was told to us in such an exiting way that I now feel very encouraged to continue the feminist movement, to keep women in politics, social works and cultural aspects of our communities, states, and country, so that we dont lose our voice. Not only did I feel encouraged to continue the movement that so many woman fought so hard for here in America, but also was encouraged to continue the movement to fight for other countries on issues such as sex trafficking, ability to take any education or occupation they desire, equal pay, etc. I want to thank the San Diego Womans History Museum for showing me how hard it was to get to where women are today with their ability to take part in all sorts of things that influence our daily lives both now and tomorrow and how we must not take their hard work for granted, and to thank them also for illustrating how much farther me must continue to push our voice out so that woman are equal to men in every apropriate situation.
Excellent exhibits in a very accessible and well thought out presentation. Take advantage of the many restaurants or the wonderful Liberty Public Market to grab a bite and talk over what you saw afterwards. Perfect for a family outing and learning experience. #womensmusem #herstory #explorelibertystation #shepersisted #raisingfeministboys

It is a rather small collection but the exhibits are regularly changing. Visited at the time of the activists photography exhibition. Staff was super friendly and the whole area is very nice to walk through.
