Just went here for the first time last night for NYE. The venue for new years was different from their normal location at the DNA Lounge. It was instead held at the Mezzaine. The mashups were indeed very well done and kept people dancing throughout the night. Although I would have preferred less pop-ish music, the night was awesome regardless. We came for the small live music venue. The band (The Smash-Up Derby) was amazing, mashing old skool hits such as Journey and David Bowie with Smashing Pumpkins and Papa Roach. The various crazy costumes were freaky, fun, colorful, and weird. I mean all of this in a positive light. Of course, its started getting jam-packed after midnight due to the reduced $20 cover. My only grip was the $9 24oz. Pabst Blue Ribbon, but hey, its New Years. If your in for a down and dirty night of dancing along with a very different crowd, Bootie is the place for you. Dont come here with your glittered Miami/Orange County attitude and expect to be treated like a princess.

Such an awesome time in the Gaslamp on a Saturday! They really took care of us and it was an easy way to show our friends the best nightclubs in downtown SD. The guides make it relatively smooth getting from club to club, and the other people on the club crawl were pretty cool. Will do it again.
