For the most part a great bar. Altitude has an amazing view of downtown San Diego right by Petco Park. The drinks were amazing, but they did require all guests to purchase food if you wanted a drink. Security was pretty rude but the other employees including our server were pretty good. Nice place!
Altitude Sky Lounge is on the 22nd floor of the Marriott. Great views of San Diego. Decent music. Good but expensive drinks. Lots of heaters on so get over that evening chill. You order food via a phone by the elevator and they give you a pager when your food is ready to pick up. We ordered a snack but would probably not choose to eat dinner upon this roof.
What a cool place, friendly staff and fun vibe. For starters tried the baobab Gambas- delicious. For main tried the ceebu Jen and the seafood coco. The first was amazing the seafood coco was a little too sweet of coconut for my taste but still good. A fun and lively experience. Would def come back!
Absolutely breathtaking view every time with Petco Park and downtown in the background. Came mid week without the crowd-- so serene and relaxing. The clear glass balcony provided a magnificent view of the colorfully lit downtown skyline. Lounge chairs with heat lamps and circular seating area with fire pit are cozy and perfect for a date or group outing on those chilly nights. Love all the color changing visual stimulation.
Wasnt as impressed as the Lafayette location. Seems like the burgers have gotten smaller and the special toppings on each arent as extravagant. Was left with a plain burger, and although it was good, it was just a burger. All 4 of us werent super impressed after hyping it up from the previous time I had it over a year ago. The fry-feccta was very good, the zucchini ribbons were amazing.
What wonderful deviled eggs! The bartenders are fantastic and happy hour has great vibes.
Sat and had lunch at the little cabana bar by the pool area. We had a server named Gladys and she was awesome!! Great personality and she recommended the best drinks. Definitely will be coming back in the future.
You know you really enjoyed an experience at a location when you wake up the next day and want to write a positive yelp review. I went to The Reserve last night for their Halloween party and from start to finish had a perfect time! I hope their reviews reflect that and would be wary of negative experiences where it is personal attacks.
I heard about this place from my brother. Super cool place. The lounge is on the 22nd floor of a hotel. There was no cover charge, which is amazing considering it is a rooftop bar. You can see Petco Park and the Coronado Bridge from the lounge, as well as a lot of city lights. I highly recommend people to visit this bar!
We came here after a night out and the vibe was nice, but it wasnt memorable. The views were good and theres a fireplace as well thats a nice touch. Theres also kind of a makeshift dance floor in the middle. We came here after dinner nearby and had a decent time. The best part about this lounge and its location. Its a nice way to cap off the night.
Waste of money service is not good and food as well
Refused our emotional support animal. Not cool...
The perfect spot to have a drink or two and its where youll find me in the Gaslamp and where I like to take friends from out of town when they visit. The staff here is top notch and the management went above and beyond to allow us to do a surprise proposal on the helicopter pad as well as set up while they werent even open. The view overlooks Petco Park and its towards the end of the Gaslamp which you have a birds eye view of the whole place. I cant thank them enough for what they did for us to accomplish this photo shoot that was almost a year ago now but Ive been there several times since then and will continue to come back.
Great music and atmosphere. Beautiful views, great drink prices. It was pretty cold but they had plenty of heaters available. Great way to celebrate a milestone birthday.
Service has bad attitude. Nothing special here. Mediocre view and overpriced drinks just like any other bar. Won’t be back.
The best place I went to while in San Diego. Great hangout place. The fire is the best.
I love altitude and recomend it to everyone. Cant beat the views and vibes. Robert in security is the best. Professional and competent. Really made the experience awesome.
We came here in January. During the day its warm enough, but at night is a different story. Was a bit cold for what we were wearing (nightclub clothes). We stayed by the fire and were given blankets. The view was beautiful at night with the city lights though.
Great location to watch games, friendly staff, nice atmosphere.
I love this place so much. Ill return friends next time. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.
Always a great experience, live dj w/generational hit music, and bar service is always on point. A great gem.
Great times here!
Went last night, first stop of the night. Bartender chick was rude, seemed like she hated her job. Bought 3 shots plus $2 tip, totaled $35. Looked at my bank account this morning, Altitude $103.50 charge! Called this morning nobody could help me. WOW. Wonder how many more people have been robbed like this!
Nice vibes on a Saturday night, great spot for getting the night started
Trendy spot to see & be seen. The views of Petco Park and the Coronado bridge are worth checking out.Drinks are overpriced and not well made. It’s a clubby lounge vibe. There’s a big firepit in the middle. Bathrooms are clean.
Beautiful view at night to overlook the stadium.
Bar with the best views in San Diego. No cover and relaxed vibes.
Dom was very professional and a really cool dude ..thank you for the great service Ill definitely be back and bring all my friends and family
Had a great time here. Great views and drinks. Heaters and fire pit if you get cold.
Refused entry by some ego trip doorman even though we had our UK driving licenses (used these fine through Vegas & Palm Springs!). We overheard he refused the girl in front of us even though she had a US government issued I.D.
Good vibes and better views
Would give it more stars because the view was great.HOWEVER, between the security guy and the bartender on duty, my experience was ruined. I was basically profiled the minute I walked in. The security guard was super serious, was not even trying to engage with us.I have never had my ID looked over for (not exaggerating) 5 mins, the security guard was staring at me then back at my ID multiple times, bending my ID card, etc...and Ive been to many bars/clubs, it was never this serious. Then to have my ID requested (and examined for like 3 mins!) again at the bar when Im at a location that Im not even allowed into UNLESS Im at least 21! My friends and I went back to The Nolan...
Pretty School spot to visit during a baseball game. You can see into the park and get a feel for some of the action and energy. Be warned there is not a lot of shade up there. As intense as a sun can be, it would be nice if they had some umbrellas or awnings or some kind of places to get a little bit of relief from the Sun beating down on you relentlessly.
Received two different pours on the same drink (old fashioned) And the one with less was pretty much all bitters.
I love visiting here. Ill return friends next time. It has a nice atmosphere.
Awful queuing system. One bartender, long line. Unfortunately a few guests didn’t follow the queuing system and went straight to the bar, and got served. I stood in line for 10 minutes and the line didn’t move. Beautiful views. In your response, you indicated you were sorry for my bad experience and that I would give you another shot. This is a very common complaint about your establishment. Could you please let us know specifically will improve this experience to encourage myself and others to come. Its very sad, you are on top of a nice hotel, but most of the hotel guests wouldnt waste the time in your club
Great views amazing service. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Amazing view of San Diego and harbor. Its nice in the evening when they have heaters around. Good place to hangout.
Best sunset view in the city! Its so nice and always a great time! The bartenders were on point with our drinks and the views were absolutely amazing.
DO NOT PLAN AN EVENT HERE!!! I have done events at several different bars and this was the absolute WORST experience. I was very sad because the location itself was amazing but I will never go back and my guests all felt the same. I planned my birthday party here and it started a few weeks prior to my event when some bar manager Brandon quoted me $5000 LESS than what the rate really was for my party. AFTER i booked, I received an email from another manager Kenley saying oops and they couldnt accommodate me unless I paid $5000.00 more. After trying to work with me (which they didnt offer me anything other than booking something at the same rate any one else would get) we got there and the waitress allowed us to choose the VIP section we wanted. Until Kenley came and kicked us out of that section VERY RUDELY instead of telling us there was ANOTHER mistake. He was EXTREMELY rude to us the entire time from the moment we got there and the way he spoke to the waitresses made me feel awful for them! Then we had strangers sitting in our section, which we kept asking them to leave. Next thing you know we have 4 bouncers and that same manager yelling in my guests face and accusing us of bringing in a bottle of crown royal WHEN WE HAD AN OPEN $800 BAR TAB clearly paying for drinks and not one of us in the party was drinking crown royal!!! It was completely humiliating! One of my guests had to take the blame for it and leave just so my party didnt get kicked out. I will never step foot back there again. The staff needs to learn how to treat people and get rid of the power trip!!!!!
Amazing service and view! Literally panoramic of downtown and padres stadium. Great atmosphere and cocktailsBeautiful!! My boyfriend and I came across this place while bar hopping. Beautiful scenery and friendly service.
Service is always super even when they have a full house. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. The place has a good feel to it.
Guy at the roof level was a douche bag! Bottom line. Have your serious face on because this guy doesn’t like people that are having fun clearly. Didn’t let us in because he heard a buzzer noise from the elevator. So, this guy cost his employer $100 an hour pretty much. Just saying...I walked back to Nolan. Great bar by the way and no dbags.
I was not at Altitude for a long time but the short time that was there I had a lot of fun. Bar service was fast and drink were good.Awesome place to hangout. Super quiet and peaceful during the week, and becomes a party on the weekends! Both are quite nice! Great bartenders and drinks! Pricing is quite reasonable for what youre getting! Nice spot to take friends from outta town. Breathtaking view of the city.
The bill was average for the menu. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I liked.
Very cool place to hang out and great views
Awesome view of the harbour, not a place you want to go if your scared of heights, otherwise i highly recommend this bar if your entertaining friends or a business meeting.
This is a pretty chill and fun spot! They have a lot of nice lounge areas where you can relax with friends and enjoy beautiful views of the city!
They made our 25 the Anniversary the best time ever. Food was excellent, staff was wonderful and catered to our every need. The best part of the evening was when the piano man played a beautiful song called More by Frank Sinatra that brought tears to our eyes for our very special night. Thank You to everyone for making our evening awesome
Went to the rooftop with three friends. Im Bonvoy Gold. Our friend from England was denied access to the rooftop because the bouncer could not understand her British accent, denied her entry accusing her of bring intoxicated, she was not. He was insulting and rude to us. Dont go unless you want to be insulted and embarrassed. Bottom line was they didnt want us there.
View is ok as far as rooftops go, but to be honest I would not come back just because the music is not good at all. Felt like I was at a high school dance
Such a nice place to get a drink. Obviously the main reason people come here is for the view. Just dont forget that there are a couple of locations to get your drinks at, so waiting in the first line you see isnt necessary. Also, its a good idea to get your pictures at the start if you want any. Once you move away from the ledge someone else will take your spot quickly.
I come here often and its really nice! Very laid back and formal! It can be a little chilly so bring a jacket since its outdoors and all the way of the top of the Marriott! Buy the Adios drink if you like a stronger cocktail, yum!
Exciting roof top bar/night club, where you can see the beautiful city and ocean. Super trendy, dress nice lots of singles hanging out having a good time!
Lame. They forgot how to customer service after the first floor.
Amazing view of the city! The drinks and service was fantastic! The atmosphere was very chill but there was also dancing there to If you wanted to dance. This place had a little bit of everything and was by far my favorite place in the gaslamp district that we went to! Altitude Sky Lounge has my vote for sure! You wont be disappointed here!
For starters, prices are very HIGH! But get over it, because this is the best view in the city. It provides a great, relaxed vibe for any night to get started at. The fire pit is another plus. Very comfortable seating all around the place. Beware, it fills up fast every night.
Anytime I have any friend in town that wants to check out places that arent too touristy, I take them to Altitude Sky Lounge. It is HANDS DOWN the best view of all of San Diego. If youre not too big on baseball during the season you can take periodic glances at the game because you can see directly int Petco Park.I also love that its a nice place to relax and drink with friends but you dont have to be all dressed up to go. There is an indoor lounge with a TV and a fireplace that people tend to congregate around. There is plenty of space to have your own space and view.If you get hungry, you can also get some food from the hotel delivered up to you. The weekends they typically have a DJ but it is by no means a club. 100% lounge and chat feel. When it is busy they have multiple bars open. Slower nights they have the one bar with a beautiful waterfall backdrop. This place presents several opportunities to take photos whether you are a social media influencer or just want a nice picture of you and your significant other! HIGHLY recommend! Definitely bring a jacket or light sweater though as it can be breezy since youre near the water and high up in the city.
Great view and drinks !
Definitely amazing views and great location to enjoy a drink and hangout. I was expecting it to be more entertaining with DJ, music etc which there was music and a DJ seamed to be getting set up for a way later time. I think it would be good to have music and the DJ since earlier in the night not just in the late hours. When we arrived was not very crowded roughly about 8 pm we found seating right against the edge facing the water front and the bar was fast and efficient. Would give it another try next time Im in the area
Great view. Below average bar.
Beautiful view good drinks
My favorite roof top bar, super mellow though, I wish they had a designated dance floor... so much cooler if they did. Big rooftop, plenty of seatings and good view of SD bay and even the stadium.
Really nice view, this is a great place to create memories in San Diego.Ive started many an amazing night here.
Honestly my favorite evening place.
Don’t waste your time.
Location is pretty cool being above Petco Field. When we went, the season was over, so no games. Good views of the ocean and other parts of San Diego. The bar itself was so-so. No good wine choices and it was pretty dark. Bartender had a little attitude.
Great views, great drinks at reasonable prices and a friendly wait staff...what more could you ask for?
Great for an after-work happy hour scene. I hear it’s great for baseball games also. The mojito’s are one of San Diego’s best. Also, The Vodka Martini’s are to die for.
Nice views, very nice staff cool place to stop, chat and have a drink. Drinks could be better good music, good crowd, excellent security.
What makes this place is the panoramic views of both downtown San Diego and the Bay. While there isnt always seating available, you can usually find a spot to set your drink down and rest your arms while you are amazed at the view. If you are looking for a spot to take in the awesome sights of San Diego and want to grab a drink, make sure that you head up to Altitude. This is also a great place to take out of town guests to get that perfect picture atop the world. While you would think they have a dress code, they do not and dont feel intimidated by those who are dressed to impress, you can still go up and take in the views and grab a drink.
Great views but unfortunately that is where the accolades stop. Drinks were poor and atmosphere trends towards touristy and 20-something looking for hook-ups. Was expecting a more chic and stylish cocktail bar but his place misses the mark. When the bartender asked me if I wanted my negroni on the rocks, I knew we were on trouble!
Great view over Petco Park and San Diego, fun atmosphere, closed early on a Monday night when visiting but definitely will be back!
Nice atmosphere and a good view. The last star would be given if they put on an extra bartender. Upon arrival we were in a queue for a painful 15 minutes and the place wasnt even really busy. Rest of the evening there was no queue though.
Really nice views especially of the baseball field. Nice atmosphere but a bit chilly when the sun goes down so dress appropriately and snuggle up by the fire
First time here....its Beautiful
6 bucks for a red bull
Nice place. Wish DJ Played better music. It was dead for a Friday night.
I agree with the last reviewer--we also went there because this bar is supposed to have a great view of the sunset but you couldnt actually see the sun set from the lounge. Also, the drinks are way overpriced. I still gave it 3 stars because the view is still really nice and I liked the fire pit.
The cocktail servers are fantastic and the views are incredible. Definitely worth checking out if youre only in San Diego for a short time and want a nice cocktail. Great view of the Padres stadium and plenty of lounge areas.
Come here for the view! Absolutely great. Theres great music and some good drinks
Been here before and love the views, crowd, and that they have a dj.The reason for the poor review is based on the companys poor communication skills. I sent them a msg on Yelp 4 days prior to the day I wanted to book table service and no response, called the following 2 days and left voice mails and no response. Called the day off and same thing, called the main hotel and demanded to speak to someone and finally got a hold someone after pretty much begging to bottle service. After talking to the host we went and he seemed to act as he didnt remember the conversation we had 2 hrs ago, anyways he was able to get is a good table and the server was great and did a great job with the service. The venue needs to hire someone else new that will be on top of the calls, emails etc for bottles and have better service at arrival. Ive had my share of bottle service experiences and I put this one at number 1 for communication.I still recommend the place and will still be back but as for getting bottles again that will be questionable.
Nice view nice atmosphere
This place has a great views and excellent location, and great fast service from the bar. Absolutely loved it
Neat bar. Good music. Drinks were so so
Clean area. Beautiful view of the surrounding area. Drinks are pretty pricey compared to surrounding areas. I guess its not like it use to be. Great music from the DJ. At least I can vape here since its open.
I love this place. It offers a great view of the city. I went to a private event here with an open bar. The drinks were very good.
Great view and a nice atmosphere. Im sure it was mostly fellow tourists, but I didnt mind. There was a great view of San Diego on both sides.
Rooftop Bar in the Marriott. Very nice views, but very crowded. It can be a struggle to get to the bar sometimes. Bartenders are nice here. Very casual place with good vibes.
Nice place a lot of people on Friday and Saturday good view of the field
