Great trail for running. I see a lot of bicycles as well. Looks like some cool off road biking trails just off the main trail. Plenty of trees and wildlife. The deer are everywhere in the mornings.
This is a lightly used trailhead. In my early morning walks, I almost always see deer.
Great trail head. Long hill down to trails. Great for starting out here but a hard finish on the bike when you are done for the day and have to ride back up that same hill. Lol
Excellent bike path for cycling. Trails have plenty of trees providing coverage from direct sun. However very busy with walkers later in the morning.
A nice little getaway. Great place to bike ride
Great trails, clean, dog friendly, lots of shaded trails to explore. I wish there were more trash cans and water fountains throughout the park.
Beautiful place nice bike ride, jog or wall
Wide paths, lots of sunny spots and plenty of shaded places as well. A great place for walking.
Beautiful scenery and great exercise
Ample parking, lots of shade, bountiful trail & paved options
Nice clean paths plenty of shade
Plenty of parking & the park police are right there. Very steep to get to the trail so beware.
We found this gem near our apartment and have made it a routine to walk the trails in the evening. Even during summer, this portion of the greenway isn’t bad because it’s mostly shaded. There is a low water crossing at the trailhead, so I imagine that it would be difficult to cross after a heavy rain. There are always lots of deer grazing at this spot as well. There is a Park Police station adjacent to the newly expanded parking lot. There is always plenty of parking and a port-a-potty in case you gotta go!
Love this trail for running! Great scenery, paved paths and mostly shaded! Some of the cyclists fly through there, so you really have to pay attention and watch for them!
One of our favorites. We enjoy seeing the deer and it’s super quiet. They need to put more dog bags with the bins for people, the bikes come flying so you have be aware n stay on your right.
Right in my neighborhood. Access to miles of parkway for bicycles and walkers. Wide, shaded paths so even brutal summer heat is bearable. Get out and enjoy the view!
Great place for biking and hiking, with park police very near. Part of Leon Valley and Vista Trali area.
Great place to walk or bike and relax your mind.
Very good place for running walking and cycling.
Went for the first time tonight. What an amazing find. Trails were great. Very clean. People were respectful. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. Beautiful scenery. The city noise completely disappeared.
Well maintained and great wildlife viewing.
Perfect spot very quiet
It’s A-OK trail for long walks, There’s a lot of bike riders though
Adequate parking leading down a steep hill to the green belt below. For those who like a challenge try running up the hill when you return. One thing to be aware of is that at the bottom of the hill there is a low water crossing that floods frequently when raining. The trail head provides water and restrooms.
Leon Vista Trailhead is a beautiful and safe park.
So quiet and peaceful
Great ace for the family get outThe house and enjoy get off the trail and explore the creek but please dont litter
Love the deer the might jump out in front of your car just drive slow .
Was pretty awesome did some light hiking was beautiful
Beautiful trail. Lots of families walking and biking on this trail. The biking community seems to like this trail a lot. Being several miles long and offing both on trailniand off trail options its good for many different skill levels.
Im from out of town here working. This is my peaceful haven. Great place. Deer walking around....
Good place to take a leisurely jog or walk
Only place to get a drink of water close to the Midland Trailhead.
The trail as of 3/4/16 offer about 26 miles of out and back paved concrete or asphalt starting at I-10 and 1604 and ending at Ingram park mall VIA station. Perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling. There are also mountain bike trails which run parallel to the cement trails. These have a moderate difficulty in some areas and require a bit of familiarization with the various routes.
The Greenway trails are phenomenal. Lots of shade. Great for walking, running, biking whatever you want to do
Beautiful paths on main trail and little off shoot single tracks
Great trails. Not crowded and plenty of deer. Wonderful place to walk or ride a bike.
Scenic biking trails
I love these trails. I go running on the 9 miles of paved trails several times a Week and take my boys off trail as often. Beautiful scenery, animals, and nature. Best forest kindergarten. Open sunrise to sunset.
Very pretty relaxing and clean area to walk
Quiet
My favorite entrance to the trails, vehicle is safe right next to the pork police!
There is always tons of deer near this trailhead and is conveniently only .3 miles from the greenway trail. It even has a bike pump and tools here!
Awesome place. If youre not coming youre wasting a great opportunity. ..
Easy access and lots of parking
Great entrance to trailhead
Be CAREFUL going entering this trailhead by bike. Its downhill and theres an extremely sharp turn at the end. Ive seen several people fall and get injured, theres a sign and even the parking police office there but nothing to prevent you from falling into the trees or rocks
Has water.
The Green ways around town are now 20 times better than Brackenridge... which is sad for Brackenridge
Beautiful park with a lot big trees.
Beautiful trail, close to Walmart and other places
Great place to walk, run or ride a bike. Miles of mixed use trails, with lots wildlife moving about.
Love my off road trails
Finally reopened with a much larger parking area, looks great.
Love this place, its shaded by plenty of trees but try to bring a friend, sometimes its alone and seems to be scary for women working out by themselves
Excellent trail for walkers, runners, cyclists, skaters...anyone. dog friendly. and I always feel safe when on the trails -- there are trail employees that ride the trail all day long and are there to help people out if needed. when it rains a ton, the trails do get flooded, but the waters recede fairly quickly. you totally feel like youre away from the city when youre on the trails, and there are a lot of trailheads to allow you entrance from all over the city. its about 12.5 miles from the 1604 trailhead to ingram, and theyve been building more on to make it longer
Beautiful scenery, and I wish I could give it five stars . However as soon as we arrived we started walking onto the path (My husband and two kids )A very rude biker yelled at us to get off the path . Very confused my husband and I exchanged glances in which the biker yelled once again Yeah you heard me ! I dont know if we just looked like some young dumb couple or what . My husband is military and works all the time, we just wanted to get some fresh air with the kids . Everyone else was extremely sweet, and the view was spectacular .
You will find lots of deers in the evening time.
Love this trail. It goes on forever and seeing deer is relatively common
Love coming here to run...so peaceful and love to see the deer.
Nice entrance to the park. Parking area is too small
It was pretty chill. Very clean.
Its a good ride up back from the main trail
