Excellent job by the city of San Antonio! Renovations look great! Better late than never. Friendly ducks and lots of cranes make it perfect for walks, pictures and just sitting enjoy!
It was nice. Very well built. I didnt see any fishes, just minnows and tadpoles. Its not very big, but impressive compared to how it used to look.
This is a 4 phase project and already we are seeing wildlife return, native plants thriving, and its being build with our San Antonio Heritage in mind. The San Antonio River Authority in partnership with others are designing to clean up (and keep it clean) our rivers while still keeping the mixture of our cultures, colors, and beauty in mind. There is no shade in this area at this time, so take a hat, umbrella, or both. There is so much to see and every year there will be new sights and wonders to visit. I am sharing just a glimpse.
This is one of San Antonios newest public park and is by far one of the best! We walked to the beginning and to the end where the waterfall is at. They really did an excellent job with all the plants, trees, concrete work and the water areas. The whole family and your children will absolutely enjoy the views and the water splash area. If one is stressed out, I will tell you that just sitting or walking around will help. Life is definitely short, I recommend enjoying the free, natural and small things in life. Take my advice and go visit this park soon.
My kids loved running around in the splash pad area. We walked the path and enjoyed seeing all the murals and art, as well as the beautiful river environment. Will be even better once they complete the next section of the trail. Was also educational to learn about how the area plays a role in flood prevention and about the massive pipes that can divert the river under the city!
So beautiful, most under construction. Parking for the park is at 201 Piazza Italia
These ducks just came right up to me! Ive never seen that before. Nice spot. Too bad water fountain is shut off because of Covid-19. Heavy sigh. This too shall pass.
COVID has not put a hinderance to people and their love for nature and its awesome beauty! Theres usually more activities like BBQ and pool but local regs with social distancing has gotten in-between. I also enjoy the photo opps....check out my latest pix. Can you guess what it is???
This place is more therapeutic than you can imagine and its really beautiful, your dog or cat will like it, your mind will love it and especially on a nice sunny day like we have now in spring its like a little piece of heaven is downtown. Its an A+ experience.
The 100% rent hike those that live in the surrounding was not fair, but the resulting river park is a gem. Once the city gets the water levels right and do something about the corroding and paint peeling condition of the water wall, the place will be stunning.
What a great addition the sa parks system. Very well done. Could use a small attractive fence between creek and aprtments but other than that wonderful urban park that details the rich cultural heritage of SA. Cant wait for phase 2.
Very beautiful place! Lots of ducks and fish. Plants everywhere. My kids really enjoyed themselves.
Peaceful stroll through the city. Tranquil environment to stop, breathe, and recharge your soul.
This is a decent cultural park with art installations along the walk way and signage that talks about the history of San Antonio, and specifically, the neighborhoods around the San Pedro Creek. As of June 2018, only phase 1.1 has been completed (so it’s a pretty short walk right now), but it will extend further south in the coming years.Remember, this a CULTURAL park, so don’t drag the little ones out there expecting to find playgrounds, etc. It’s not in the usual touristy area, so it doesn’t get packed, and street parking isn’t terribly hard to find in this part of downtown.Make sure you stop by and check out the San Antonio Soap Works building on the banks of phase 1.1. It’s the oldest surviving industrial building in SA. It’s an apartment building office now, so you can’t go inside, but you can walk around the outside of it and check it out. There’s plenty of stuff to do nearby. Main Plaza, the Spanish Governor’s Palace, and the historic Bexar County court house are all within walking distance.Come on out and check out what the San Antonio River Authority and the City of San Antonio have put together for us!Oh, I almost forgot – you should check it out at night. I haven’t been there at night, but I have seen some awesome photos and I’m gonna have to check it out at night now. It looks really cool.#SA300 y’all!
While a small park, it was still beautiful. The kids had a great time. I especially enjoyed the artwork.
I am so glad to witness history in the making. I was born and raised in San Antonio - wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I have seen the city progress in so many great ways - and this is no different. Phase 1 is complete and it looks beautiful. This is the perfect addition to the area which will now hold San Antonio’s first modern skyscraper in almost 30 years! It will compliment the new Frost Tower very well. The park is beautiful. They took a standard looking creek, and turned it into a cultural point of interest. From the water falls, to the murals, and the landscaping - this is already a definite success. Can’t wait to see the rest!
Great addition to San Antonio’s amazing downtown parks. Beautiful and artful and this is just a first phase of the growing park.
Because people kept wading in the water, they covered some of the water areas. It looked much better before. Other than that, its a nice little walk through a small part of downtown. Cant wait for them to finish all phases.
I am so impressed with the first phase of the San Pedro Creek Culture Park, but words cannot describe how wonderful the “Rain from the Heavens” public art installation is. So often public art feels like something created out of a million little compromises. This installation is so powerful, so thoughtful and so unusual. Kudos to the artist for making something beautiful and brave. And I tip my hat to the people who chose this work for this space. I especially enjoyed standing on the vibrating grate and feeling a low frequency hum as I gazed up at the position of the stars, our planet forever changed, a new hum being composed for a new era of human history in the Americas.
Nice walking trail cant wait to see the water running in the wading area.
Nice walk clean friendly area of town nice .art too awesome
The waterfall is my favorite spot but I absolutely love it there. Its beautiful and peaceful.
Cool little park. Lots to like and really quite impressive, but where are the restrooms?
Beautiful place but not really the place dot kiddos to splash and play like we thought. Has a bit of a smell. Everyone very friendly around the area!
Sunset walk along San Pedro Creek with the most beautiful views!!
San Pedro Creek Park is a nice small new park in San Antonio. It is about a year old. There at the Park, there are many creative landscape designs along the Creek made out of concrete and tile that make an interesting pathway thats curved making different types of scenery. There is colored tiles that make mosaics that I like very much! There are different types of waterfalls. Some waterfalls are nice and big. There is a lot up show of light s at night time. It is a unique kind of new park that was built by using creativity all along the way...Enjoy!Robert Martin
Space is beautiful. It could use a little shade in the summer sun.
The culture park was very beautiful me and my mom first time thier..
Its quiet not busy at all...perfect to go ride a bike.
Fantastic walk along the San Antonios newest river walk — for the residents of historic San Pedro creek.
We visited the culture park for the grand opening and I must say, it turned out lovely. I love the history and stories behind all the pieces. Parking is a bit inconvenient, though. I hope the city and the people of San Antonio care for and maintain this park and the creek.
Loved it... Cant wait until they test the water so it will flow where you can enjoy it with just wading in the water too.
Im very impressed with this project! Still under construction, but enough is complete to enjoy with your family and dog.
This is an awesome project! Makes me proud of whats happening in San Antonio!
Beautiful place to walk, felt completely safe walking at night. Well lit and clean. The artwork, ambient lighting and water features make this a destination in downtown San Antonio.
Beautiful & clean! I love the artwork, the writings, the design on the walls, the plants & its wonderful to see the ducks & other birds. Amazing bright area adding charm & beauty to San Antonio downtown.
Currently there is construction all along the trail, but its still pretty nice.
Beautiful, nice place to see nature downtown. Wonderful art. A nice reprieve from the concrete jungle.
The shallow pools and the waterfall are awesome. At night, the waterfall background is a mural of the night sky (stars) as it was when San Antonio was founded, at least as it was explained to me. Pretty neat. Great venue for pictures or small wedding.
Very nice and neat. Good place to stop and relax next to the water system. Ties into the Riverwalk allowing sublevel access to shops and eateries along the trails. Go to this portion of the walk by yourself, bring a book or maybe your camera...youll be glad that you did.
It was my first time attending Illume but certainly wont be my last. The first park is simply beautiful
One of the newest additions to our evergrowing Riverwalk. And quite a beautiful job that was once an eye sore. The lit-up waterfall is tranquil and gorgeous at anytime.
Loved the Christmas lights, water is peaceful ️, and enjoyed the senery that was build around the water.
In love with the water
Beautiful park!
Beautiful design and craftsmanship
Is a magic place where the city commemorate where all the cultures merge to become one and share, respect and love to each other. Beautiful murals, gardens.
Beautiful landscape but public restroom in the park were locked, so no access to restroom.
Looks great, cant wait till construction is complete
Great place for morning walks
Great culture facts, very well lighted and spacious walking areas for small to large groups.
Very cool place to check out but a little hard to find parking to go down there.
Not done, plus a homeless person cursed at me
Chill spot to catch the vibe
Its so beautiful there. This place is miraculous especially considering the history of what this place was like 5-10 years ago
Good spot for walking
Huge walking park with monumental decorations. Grounds were not maintained as there were over grown weeds and tall grass everywhere.
Great place to take the family very nice walk
Cool upgraded area
Nice park very clean
This park is beautiful and knowledgeable.
Attended Don Mathis writing workshop, Writers take a Walk, sponsored by SARA with Carrie Brown and Kerry Averet as our hosts and guides through the construction; along with a talk by local artist Joe Lopez on his work that is displayed at the Park. What a great experience! Thank you Don, Joe, Kerry, Carrie and SARA!
Love this park!!!! Being your family and kids and some water!!!
Nice, not much shade and cant walk in the water (lame).
It wouldve been nice if the lights were on.
This was such a well thought out park. Beautiful combination of native, natural elements and art and design. One of my new favorite places in SA
What there two days in a row and it was fantastic!
Short walk, but less crowded than the typical riverwalk. Expansion ongoing.
Nice place to talk with some one. Safe and ...
It was beautiful at night and good view of the skyline
Beautiful spot to hang out.
In early historic times, a band of Coahuiltecan Indians known as Payayas called the Springs and their village there Yanaguana.
Great place to relax. Waddle in the water a bit lol
Nice and quiet place
Nice quiet spot to meditate
That was pretty cool. Thought I walked up on a secret part of a video game.
Beautiful real live area restored they did that
It is awsome!!!! I would love to take my family just to have picnic at
Nice addition to the citys growing park system!
Its beautiful and so relaxing
It is a nice new riverwalk but I recommended going in the morning or near sundown. The rest of the is not so pretty. They designers did a bad job on keeping us safe from the sun. So beware of sunburn, bring protective gear from the rays. There is no shade whatsoever. There are some near trees but most of all none. This is only a part of the project, let us see if they will improve.
Great place to take a date.
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Very modern. Cant wait for the project to be completed.
Very beautiful and the water in the creek is so clean.
Great place to explore and enjoy the great outdoors.
Another Place In San Antonio That Caught My Attention And Im A Local
Beautiful!
Perfect place to take my dog for a stroll.
Gorgeous landscaping and mosaics, well maintained and great for walking.
It has abundant wildlife
It was a nice place especially for the kids. You can get wet but it is not the cleaniest water so be cautious. Overall it was a great place to enjoy oudoors.
The place is pretty but dont come when the weather is hot and sunny because you wont find a tree to hide off the sun
Love this place because its so clean and quiet. Could use more shady areas and a bathroom.
So serene and pretty
This is a new part of the Riverwalk that is still under construction.
I loved the place to take a walk! Very cultural as well as romantic.
Nice place... Its creek water so maybe dont go nuts in the splash area and parking isnt close by
Nice place to see.
Awesome site !! Great art and impressive landscaping .. Kudos to the SARA staff and contractors.
