I came across this awesome spot well checking out the River walk near pearl a part of the River walk that I had not seen before. When I came across it my reaction was this is cool and I have to take pictures of this. I also thought I t could be a very relaxing an peaceful place to just sit and think about life or what ever you feel like. It could also be a very romantic place for a date or with a loved one.

Beautiful walk for anyone. The whole portion of this riverwalk has different themes along the way. Amazing and very beautiful

Randomly stumbled upon this photo op while looking around Google maps for things to do during our visit to San Antonio.Definitely worth checking out, as it is quite unique and havent seen anything like it many times before.

Its a cute little grotto. Kinda romantic when there arent fisherman or when the entry way doesnt smell like pee. But the big fish are close by under the highway so its a nice walk. Park nearby and walk down one of the stairwells.

Many a romantic outing here as well as a wonderful place to just read during the day and feel peaceful and quiet in an unexpected and very Urban environment. For a minute you can forget that youre in one of the biggest cities in the country. I love it here.

Interesting place to visit was told to expect a large bat population at dusk. It never happened .

Its definitely nice to visit when the water is running through it BUT do not recommend to visit at night, few homeless people hide in there to sleep.

This magnificent Grotto on the San Antonio river, is certainly a picturesque place to visit at least once.

So much fun! We are from Illinois and thought the experience was amazing! One of the locals told us about the bats coming out to feed at dusk...that was awesome! You dont see that in Chicago!

Best enjoyed from the water taxi. The smell of urine was pretty strong when I went up the stairs by the grotto. Also, this grotto is different from the Lourdes grotto at Headwaters Sanctuary not too far away.

PERFECT PLACE to see the NIGHTLY BATS exciting around Dusk just under the Camden Street Bridge just around the corner !!!!!!! Largest #BatWatching site in SA. Truly a Great place for All ages and is wheelchair friendly. Walk down the steps to get the #BestView of Bats as you look up into the cracks to see them getting ready for their nighttime feeding of up to 2 Tons of Insects. Other places within driving range just outside of town. Ill edit with the exact name soon. ENJOY

This os a great place for tourist and locals alike, who would like to take a stroll in our beautiful city. A lot of this part of the river is fairly new, Dont Think its been quite 22 years since this area was developed. If you would like to take a walk at dusk, this would be the place! Depending on the day or the night some local eateries that call the Riverwalk home, may be closed. However, that doesnt detour the locals from heading down and just enjoying the scenery. I love coming here!

Great place for a couple to get to know each other

The Grotto is one of several art installations along the northern reach of the river walk. The Grotto is made of concrete to look like a Hill Country cavern with stalagmites, stalagtites and a waterfall. You can park at the Pearl Center and walk a shortway there or take a river taxi and see all the sites along the new section of river walk.

We loved the little brisk walk with friends and enjoyed the beautiful sculpting by the Artist along a nice breezy river bend.

A short walk south from the Pearl riverwalk entry point or you can also enter from street level at the Camden Bridge or Newell Bridge. Take some time here and look for some hidden items. Look very closely into the waterfall.
