Im not usually that person to take kids to the park when its dark (6pm lol) but not regrets this may actually be our new summer night park! It was so well lit, big, and clean. Plus trails to walk
There is plenty of room on the trail for social distancing. Since it is a paved trail, its very accommodating to families with bikes or strollers. Cathedral Rock is the perfect greenspace to get in a quick hike.
Nice for families with small children. Easy walking trails throug deep woods. Dont miss seeing ancient oak tree. Probably 100 or more years old.
Nice trail with enough tree cover for those burning hot days. Mostly concrete with some level 3 more rough terrain. Playground is nice.
Its very quiet, cool and very relaxing, family friendly, just be careful when it gets dark weirdos may be lurking in the dark. I havent seen any in over 7 or so years....just saying.
The playground is nice for the kids to have fun. Would be nice if people would clean up after their pets. Nasty.
Very nice little park. The trails open super early as well. I did not see al the trails but what I did see they have up to level three trails. The trail system is quite extensive and they have both paved and unpaved trails. The port-a-potty is less than desirable. Overall it is a very nice park.
Diverse vegetation!!! Lots of beautiful cacti!!! Wonderful walking trails!!! One of my favorite places in San Antonio!!!
Very well kept. Not congested. Nice park and trail.
This is a great park for all ages! Nice shaded seating and good walking trails too :) The playground equipment is unique and shaped like a tree which is really cool. There are little animals hiding around it for the children to find as the explore the tree. They also have a little play area too. The only thing this is is missing is some swings!! I do like that it is cushiony ground vs the wood chips though.
I have twin boys and they love coming here to this park they always make new friends here!
Nice place for an evening stroll with the family. Play area is currently closed due to covid, but the walking path is very nice, there are paved paths and trails.
Ive been going there for many years and i love it! So does the rest of my family and friends.
One of my favorite trailheads for the scenery along this part of the trail.
I love it, my kids love it. Its a great place to play, walk trails and perhaps have a picnic.
Great walk, can take a bike even some hiking, little park for children very long walk..great for exploring with children...
Nice playground for the kids, and plenty of hiking and biking trails. Some paved, some not.
This location has a park for kids and trails coming around the sides which was cool but I got a uneasy feeling about being there. It doesnt seemed well maintained and there is garbage throughout the trails which is sad. Smells kinda bad in some parts and the sidewalks arent cleared in some areas. Also I saw a homeless person living up hill in the trees which was kinda weird. I wanted to find a good running route but dont trust this place with headphones on since people come out the bushes surprisingly. Limited parking too but it was busy since it was evening times. I did like that they have a map at the beginning and markers throughout the route but maybe need security or dont go alone. They need to work on upkeep or setup volunteer opportunities for organizations to help clean up the park. So far been here twice ( tried to give it another chance but didnt adjust) did like the park area with the picnic area since it seemed family oriented but need to focus on improving the trails.
Amazing park, the trails are really great for bicycles, dogs and kids
Well made walking path, though I do wish there were better directions along the path for the split offs
I bring my dog here for walks/runs and she really seems to enjoy it! However ive notice i do see alot of doggy bags on the ground along the trail so if youre a dog owner please wait for a proper place to discard of your dogs business!
Great park and wonderful trails. Had lunch and went for a walk down the different trails here. Had to watch out for some bikers but everyone was pleasant.
Very beautiful after a rainy day or week, only downside is the extra large mosquitoes.
Cathedral Rock park is dog friendly park good for children to play and explore nature
I took a three mile walk, then a five miler. Lots of trails, great natural beauty, rustic bike trails, playground, BBQ grill. Its a wonderful day trip without leaving the city!
This trailhead not only connects to the greater trail network for those wanting a multi - mile experience, but also has numerous interconnected local paths for the less ambitious. The playground allows families with young children to enjoy the outdoors too.
Nice place to work out, ride a bike, walk or run.
The walking trail is confusing but there is a map. Dont go at night, there are no lamp post so its dark. The park area is closed off.
Love this place! My kids love going here! Not alot of parking and they have a portable pottey. Its connected to a walking trail that is amazing! Take water and make sure your phone is charged if you try this trail!
Not the biggest but definitely a beautiful park with trails. Unfortunately, many inconsiderate residents nearby leave bags of dog poo on the side of the trails because theyre too lazy to walk the bags to the can like a respectable human being.
SA parks are seriously great. The kids love running around the boulders and I love the Leon Creek Greenway. Playground is great too (for kids under 13).
Great place for a hike. Bike and runner friendly
Very cool playground for the kids!
Its a very clean and family safe place, good for sitting and relaxing while kids play, and good for walking, jogging, and bike ridding
Nice playground setup & trails...
Very nice and clean large area for children to play. Main play area has 4 really nice slides.
Paved paths with some decent elevation changes. Lots of cool bugs and animals to see.
Really nice playground (not covered). Plenty of benches in the shade. Port-a-potty only. Walking trails- part of the Leon Creek Greenway. Water fountain. Plenty of trash and recycling bins.
Nice quiet park to go for a walk on the winding paths.
Ive been coming here since I was a kid and it was just natural paths. Love the paved trails and love exploring unpaved paths as well. The playground is great too.
Awesome, Clean, Friendly Environment For Kids & Families!! I Like The Lighting Over The Park, Lighting Over Cabanas, & Walk Ways!! :)
Had a good time walking the trails
Beautiful park, lots of places to explore
Beautiful nature park with a play area and seating areas to enjoy a meal. Love the trails
This park is really beautiful!
Nice, refreshing, chill. Enjoyed our family walk here. I wouldnt advise, walking the path, after dark.
Great trail, if it has rained be prepared to take off your shoes
Place could use a good cleaning, but the playground & the paved trails are clear. Nice place to go geocaching!
Super clean and nice but super secluded and kinda creepy.. many odd people at the park I felt unsafe, my husband had to use the restroom and it was just my son and I alone at the park for a few mins and I can honestly say I felt very unsafe.. looks like a park where people meet up at or something I saw about 4-5 people literally waiting for someone, or they’d pull up alone and look around and leave.. honestly won’t return for this reason.. but maybe it was just bad luck
Nice little place located in the city. We have been on the trails for leisure and educational purposes.
Beautiful sites. Paved walkways, natural trails, playground, tables, shade.
Plenty of parking, outdoor playground and the start to part of the greenway path. Saw a deer out here around dusk, beautiful area. About half mile in there is a bridge over some pretty rock formations. No lighting along the path.
Very nice trails. Grandkids enjoyed it very much
My kid loves this park. He always makes friends and its lit up well after sundown so it fits into our schedule
Nice park with lots or trail to walk. Plenty of play area with slides but no swings or old school rides. If you cant zip around on a merry go round while holding on for dear life, or fall down and get some street cred scrapes because theres some rubber flooring instead of rocks and dirt, then I couldnt have played here as a kid but them days are sadly gone
Trail is nice, park is ok
Nice park, a bit creepy how theres like woods right next to it so when its night time be sure to keep a close eye on your kiddos cus they could easily run off into there and get lost. Other than that its really nice in a secluded area.
I love taking my son to this park. There is normal a good amount of kids here and the playground has an excellent layout. The floor is patted and there is plenty of lighting if you stay past dark.
It was beautiful, nice tails, however just one outside bathroom (not super great).
Nice place to ride bikes and for the kids to play
Nice bike trails
I liked it, very good walking trails
Great small park
Had an awesome hike with our Crew. Lovely park and trails.
Always have a great time here.
Great place for young kids to play!
Great place to go walking or biking.
Cool little park to have a picnic at. Playground, trails, porta-potty
Good for a walk to kill some time or think.
Nice walking trails. Wheelchair friendly
Great playground, awesome trail connection to Leon Creek Greenway
Nice Park. Only have a portajohn though
I love this place, cant wait to go back
I wish they can have more police during the nights because I saw some strangepeople sitting here. Other things like the playground, the park in general are clean and nice. The people whp comes here are usually familiar and friendly. During the morning they have Forests class all the year. Recommended.
Beautiful trailhead thru the creeks
Great location to hike & chill...the kids have a blast playing in the woods
Dog Friendly
Freaking amazing, smoother thank some of the local roller rinks HONESTLY......trailheads all connect and are maintained beautifully enough to get a jam skate away in on, and are free, and shaded with plenty of water fountains along the the trails but dont recommend for beginners other trailhead user are very nice and respectful(thankyou, appreciated) will be using on weekday evenings for jam sessions.........
Fun place to take your kids and to go ride the bike trails.
Great shaded area to run in the heat.
Very nice nnwell maintained park. They have a nice track that is good for running around. An for my nephews who like to go there for fun when I visit them.
Loved the trails in the area, and the park!
Could use a basketball court, other then that its a great park for the kids
Beautiful atmosphere. Great place for kids to play
Nice park, a little small though. Great trails to walk or bike along.
I love coming here, my daughter enjoys it soo much there.
Great biking and hiking trails very nice
Very nice playground and sitting area.
Nice playground underutilized but great location for a walk.
Clean park! Equipment and area are very nice. However, the porta potty was really bad! The door lock was broken (non-existent!), no toilet paper, super dirty and nearly overflowing!! There was writing on the door which indicated itd been serviced/cleaned 2 days prior to my attendance but I dont think that was the case! I came back to the park two days later and sadly the porta potty was the same. So if ya gotta go either be prepared or hold it! I sure hope they address this issue because other than that this park is wonderful!
My children loved this Cathedral Rock park. Its small but the playground area is nice and so are the trails.
Awesome park! Nice soft turf under swings and bars. Very cool and convenient!
Beautiful hidden park with lots of shade through the trails and kids park/ play area is very nice!
Good place to bring kids and walk the Trails
