No wonder this place is rated Best in Salem. Weve only been here a handful of times, but the food is really good and the drink options are plentiful.We tried the tacos recently for Taco Crawl week: the Pork Belly taco and the Jerk Chicken. Both were excellent, although Im not into spicy food. The Jerk Chicken ramped up the spice the more it lingered on the tongue. The Pork Belly was my favorite, though.Service is great, decor is cool. The game selection is fun, but Monster Bash was missing this time around [sad face]. We look forward to another themed night in the future. Marvel costume party, maybe?

I always enjoy my time at Coin Jam even during these crazy times during the pandemic. Atmosphere is cozy for a barcade, the food is great and themed with video game names. I always recommend Coin Jam to anyone visiting Salem and its always a fun experience for them.

Great, diverse selection of fun games to play. Had the pork belly and the jerk chicken tacos, both were amazing. Beer selection is great. Service was superb. Ill be back.

Went on Halloween and had a blast! All the best games from the past, really great beer. They had a Orange Creamsicle Cider on tap that was inexpensive and delicious. They were clean with plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere. Although the bar wasn’t available to sit at, it was clear of stools to make spacing easy for ordering. They also were considerate of capacity that night and were keeping track to not get too crowded

Im really happy that this place has continued on, especially through the COVID. They do a great job at keeping everything clean, friendly staff as well. All of the games are in great condition. Im also happy to say that Ive never had a bad meal here. Many beers and ciders on tap. I also enjoy checking out the G.I. Joe and Masters of the Universe collections. Tons of nostalgia. This is what an bar-Cade should be.

They have a $1 surcharged for to-go order. I mean who does that on $12 tacos order??? Am I supposed to bring my own plate!!! Geez... so nickels and dimes its customers

Pretty fun place, my first time in. I know it may seem a little difficult, but with the virus not a whole lot of staff kept up with sanitizing the machines, there was hand sanitizer and social distancing tape. But with all the people there it would have been nice to see staff sanitizing machines.

My favorite spot for years. Wonderful bar staff and excellent food are just the start. The mix of vintage games and new games makes for a wonderful experience.

Mac n cheese is to die for. Honestly some of the best Ive had. Cheese fries are really good too.

Great place 21 or older arcade! Tons of older and some new arcade games. Fair prices to play. Food and drinks are also tasty. For people playing the games there are two change machines and an ATM. Just a good place to hang with friends to have a drink and play some games! There always seems to be a different arcade here when I drop in. Also for all those Pokemon Go fans there are two pokestops near by that can be swiped

A really awesome arcade and bar. So many really fun vintage games and newer ones. The staff there is also super nice!! The only thing I wish is there were a few more non-alcoholic drink options, but it was such a blast it didnt bother me that much. And the rootbeer I did get was very tasty. Highly recommend if youre looking for something fun to do.

I forgot how fun arcades were, and this is definitely more of a proper arcade you remember from back when than Dave and Busters or the like.Good drinks, good food, and a rad selection of games, it seems to be a pretty popular spot! So much fun and a great group of people we were lucky to have behind the counter. I had a big ice cream cake for my partners birthday and they cleared out their freezer to stash it for me, cut it and brought out the plates and silverware. Well definitely be going back for some more memories.

Great hybrid arcade! Theres so much nostalgia to be had at this place. I cant believe some of the arcade classics that they have there. Also at least 5 pinball machines, ballin. Great selection of food items and alcoholic beverages, so yeah. No complaints whatsoever. Will be going back as soon as we can find a babysitter.

Great fun! The three of us went by and had the ricotta apple fritters and the smothered fries. Play the games for about an hour and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Very friendly staff and quick-service. :-)

Super fun downtown arcade bar with a surprisingly delicious food menu. The fry baskets are seasoned to perfection and the tofu lettuce cups are a great vegan option. $2 Corona Thursday’s! Mario kart, pinball, pac man, guitar hero, Jurassic Park, claw machines, the list goes on...

Relaxed and inviting room with TONS of arcade games and pinball. Whatever your favorite game from back in the day is, they probably have it. I personally liked seeing The Simpsons, Area 54, Time Cop, and they even had Rampage! Plenty to do, probably good for small groups too

This place always surprises! The food is always top notch, staff is incredible, and there are new games to play once in a while. I cant say enough about how awesome this place is for a quick lunch (I love the Mac-n-Cheese!) or to get together with friends. You will not be disappointed.

Fun games, nice crowd, excellent service and the food is great! Nice to unwind here have a few light drinks and play well off into the night. They even rotate some of the games on a free to play system so its definitely a win win in my playbook.

Super fun spot! A good set of games to choose from. Most games were 25 cents to play and had built in cupholders! They had a good selection of draft beers and friendly staff as well.

Love this place. Plates of food are VERY generous with the amount they give you. Had the Bowser BLT and it was really well done. Then beer and an impressive arcade. Stopped by here for my friends Bachelor party and we had a great time! Highly recommended.

I don’t know how I never knew this place existed! Found it on accident and have been pleasantly surprised! The food has been pretty good with some things being better than others, a great selection of beer but could use some more taps but the selection of games makes up for it all. Brings me back to my 80’s-90’s childhood and most are still the same price as they were back then. All games have been in great condition and are just how I remember them!

Loads of pinball machines. Fun new games and classic old ones. Descent food menu too. Taps don’t rotate much, have an ok selection of craft beer on draft, but have a solid cooler of canned cider and beer to choose from.

So much nostalgia! They have a good variety of games. Pinball is a little pricey at $1 a pop, but they have some really fun ones. I was really happy to see Galaga and Mortal Kombat since I have found memories of playing those in the arcade back in the day.

Had one of the best times here reconnecting with an old friend. Its the perfect spot to meet up when youre from Portland and your friend is from Eugene. Especially if youre an old school gamer. Ive been to Coin Jam several times. Its a great arcade bar with a good selection of modern and classic coin-operated machines at reasonable prices. If you go on a Monday, some of the games are free play after 6pm which is a nice perk. Also, depending on what time you go, especially early evening, the vibe can be quite laid back which makes it nice for groups interested in having conversations in-between games. Make sure you check their Facebook page for their events schedule as they may be hosting private parties or theme nights.The food is good and theres a wide selection of beers and ciders to drink. I wish they would offer more variety on the food menu (ie. rotating specials) and have some mixed drink options but those are minor concerns. Overall, great place and highly recommend!

Good beer, with 7-9 taps, some rotating. A nice selection of video games and pinball machines - with new machines added occasionally. If you like old school arcades, this is the place to go in Salem.My only comment/complaint is that I wish they would create some time(s) for the under 21 crowd. Since they are also serve liquor, they have a no one under 21 policy. How are kids supposed to learn if they cant FEEL the thrill of the bumpers, plungers, and joysticks? Even a once-a-month family day would be nice!

Surprisingly good food in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Monthly beer close outs and conveniently located. Not exactly quiet, but a good higher energy type of bar where you can drink and slay dragons at the same time (video games).

The Coin Jam is a model for how a business should operate and treat its customers. Ive really never experienced the unique customer service experience this place offers. The food is amazing and the staff are consistently friendly and make you feel valued. Then manager, Sean Newton, is passionate about his business and that passion is apparent during the tournaments. Although everyone is great, Sean is what really makes this place special. Managers take note.

Super fun spot for date night or to bring friends when they come visit! Menu is a fun take on bar food with a modern twist (think greasy goodness with a flair of goat cheese) with a variety of drink options. The games have always been clean and well maintained.What I like about this spot is that it is what you make it. You can go in a drop a bunch of money on food, drink, and games, or you can have a budget friendly date night! Just be warned that it can get a bit crowded in the evenings and tables are limited.100% would recommend!

Hands down the coolest pub in Salem Oregon! This place belongs in Portland, it’s amazing! Great Food! Great Beer and tons of arcade games to enjoy.... if you’re looking this place just go there! I promise you won’t be disappointed! It’s like the Pizza Joint you went to in the 80s and 90s but they serve better food and you can enjoy good beer with it too!

Third time weve been here now, its so much fun. First of all they have a great selection of craft beers. Second they have an amazing selection of arcade games and there typically is not a wait for most of them. Prices for arcade games range from $0.25-$1.00 per play. Beer plus arcades is a great combo!

Beer and old school video games, Im in heaven. I am a VERY easy going guy and it takes a lot for me to complain. I come here weekly and the last two times the burgers were bad. Way overcooked. I asked for medium cooked Patty,. It what I got was two thin crunchy patties. The manager guy was cool, but the burgers were not made like they said on the menu. It was like a jerky burger with a crunch. I probably sound like an a-hole, but two times in a month....I had to say something. Still will come here for the games and beer, just not the food which is what the rating is for.

I dont like leaving reviews but felt the need to provide honest, and hopefully beneficial, feedback for this business.Im not sure if the bartenders were just having an especially bad night, didnt care about providing decent customer care, or are misogynistic but after coming in tonight Im not comfortable with returning.Ive been to The Coin Jam a few times but men have always been included in the group I was with. Tonight my best friend and I came in, we are both women. Our experience was overall unpleasant with the all male bar staff who served us so that definitely makes me wonder about the misogyny aspect.The customer service we received felt laced with animosity from the get go. We werent welcomed or asked how we were doing. We were immediately demanded to show our IDs once by a gentleman seated at the bar (weird but we just assumed he worked there, he didnt check them), again by a bartender, and lastly by a different bartender.This was a bit irritating. I understand the OLCC requires thorough ID checking but this seemed a bit extra resulting in me making a comment quietly to my friend, intended as a joke, on how we should just keep our IDs out.Im unsure if this offended one bartender but he began to loudly inform us on how we smelled of marijuana.According to him, which he was kind enough to tell us at length, OLCC standards and Oregon law both specifically state that smelling like marijuana automatically means youre not allowed to be served alcohol (must suck for all the dispensary/farm workers in this state).He did say he would make an exception as we didnt seem intoxicated (we werent) but told us that other bars would not serve us due to the smell alone.He then continued talking about this with the people seated at the bar as we walked away. We received some pretty unsavory looks and many of them stared at us as well.The smell of marijuana alone doesnt justify denying service, according to actual OLCC standards (easy info to gather from their official website). Multiple signs of intoxication and/or a distinct change in behavior must be eye witnessed.I know these standards can be intense and specific. Im unsure if this advice was meant to be helpful but it felt passive aggressive. Getting put on the spot like that definitely made us feel uncomfortable and it was completely unnecessary.I really liked this place. Perhaps having employees review OLCC standards and polishing up on customer service skills could prevent future embarrassment and/or uncomfortability for customers.

Great food, very nice servers and of course the games are on point. Love the atmosphere. I always say this is for adults to become kids again

Fun place to go for food, drinks, pinball and old school video games.

Theres something special about this place. About how they get it right. For example, the games. They start from the old ones like PacMan or Qbert, and then you get into the 90s in the other room with all the fighting stuff like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, some pretty awesome flippers plus the 4-person driving games.
