New exhibitions are open now and another will open on 11/26. Its a pleasure to walk through collections of art by NW painters, print makers, and others.
It was sadly empty when we went (sad because this little museum has some great stuff and deserves more attention, though fun to have an entire art museum to ourselves!) But the staff was lovely and helpful and they had some very cool pieces and exhibits. Worth a visit.
Really enjoyed visiting this little museum( felt a lot like a gallery) Permanent exhibits of ancient artifacts, coins, icons, eastern and western were a happy surprise. Downstairs modern Oregon artist works on display. Very nice, small but wonderfully curated, gift shop. Enjoyed my,stumbled upon it, visit! Visited after the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Capitol which just happened to fall on a free admission day.. My granddaughter really enjoyed the interactive exhibits
This is a wonderful museum. I initially visited in October 2019. I shall return.
This is a lovely little museum which is a delight to walk through. If you are looking for old world masters be warned that this is not the National Gallery in Washington DC... the do have a small gallery of masters but no extensive display of impressionists, or renaissance masters. Rather this is a well presented collection of different art which becomes a satisfying journey away from the current Trumpian disgust. There is something for everyone. Even though my friend and I have visited many European national galleries we still find this museum to be very satisfying, and visit two or three times a year. Well worth the visit. Watch for special exhibits to tailor your trip to your own tastes.
Its a small but good museum. In particular the latest George Rodriguez sculpture show is really good, even kept my 4yo entertained. The permanent exhibit is very small but has a Rodin and some interesting Asian art.
I was visiting to do some research on their Grand Ronde Gallery and I loved the experience I got. I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any assistance finding certain exhibits, which I did. The lady helping me also saw my notebook and informed me that I could only use a pencil to take notes. Since I only had a pen on my person, she let me barrow a pencil. The art was spectacular and Id love to visit again.
5 best parts about this museum.. you may find old scriptures here, you may find highly expressive, warm but not too overtly in your face staff n security..Be back soon!2 story, always clean... list goes on... great price..n tips.
It is not a large museum, but it is enthusiastic! The exhibits it does have are well done and interesting. You can tell the curators and manager have their act together. The lectures are fascinating!
Some really amazing paintings and sculptures. I was the only person there pretty much, also free on Tuesdays, other days only $6
Lots of print making this time, loved it.
Happy to see Chagall and Corot pieces there. Worth the price of admission.
A truly fantastic small regional art museum, with an interesting permanent collection and well curated visiting exhibitions which often feature local and regional artists.
Nice museum. Great staff.
Great place to bring out of town guests. Never too crowded and they always have interesting special exhibits.
This museum was very well done. Clean and uncluttered. The exhibits were well thought out and relevant as well as respectful.
Enjoyed the variety of art work and presentation of it.
I love this place did you know Tuesdays are free days? I take my kid here. They have a scavenger hunt and the kids enjoy it.
Interesting lectures are open to public which promote an understanding of art
Nice Museum, located at Willamette University. Native American art on display. Rotating other Arts.Tuesday is Free. Parking on the street is $1.50 per hr. Via kiosk on the block.Membership is more than reasonable.
Nice gallery, very professional student exhibition, awesome Native American, Egyptian, and Asian artifacts upstairs.
This is a medium sized museum that has much to offer art enthusiasts. The exhibits change regularly, and it has had many impressive shows. The private collection of contemporary and historical works is also very impressive. The Hallie Ford Art Museum is located near the state capitol and Willamette University. During our visit, the exhibits were of art created by native Americans and art that showed the sun, moon or stars.
Friendly staff, and always--great exhibits
I really enjoyed seeing the studio art projects of the graduating seniors.
A nice museum, with both Oregon artists and many art pieces by Northwest native people.
I like this place so much that I got the $100 membership. Im more interested in Northwest art than other art. Im grateful that this museum is a part of our lives.
Visiting Oregon for a small vacation came to this Museum and there was a lady at the door greeting us and gave us a run down of the facility she was very nice especially once we told her we were from California. Really nice museum highly recommend!!
A surprisingly good museum for where it is located. Willamette is able to draw major installments and they often staff with knowledgeable, friendly staff. Great place hidden away with other major attractions but a positive experience waiting to be had.
Beautiful works of art on display. Worth checking out.
A nice quiet place that is dedicated to their collections. The staff are very kind as well.
Very interesting and expressive art.
Great rotating exhibits. Enjoyable permanent exhibits with a local focus.
Not a very big museum but a nice place nonetheless.
Really nice place to take a stroll through. We loved the scavenger hunt with the kids.
Has to be one of the best art galleries in Oregon, outstanding.
A lovely and classy example of a smaller art museum. Their collection is stellar!
Great changing exhibits and permanent exhibits are good as well.
Not completely finished yet all the exhibitions and areas but very knowledgeable friendly staff and good parking. Could use more promotions.
Great museum, I especially enjoyed the Klamath-Modoc Basket Exhibit
Beautiful quiet space with changing shows.
There was a whole wall of a projector video of a woman eating corn with obnoxious sound, is this art? And it cost me three dollars. There where a couple cool paintings though.
F u n place to go. They had a display of 60s art and clothes.
Such beautiful pieces and thoroughly resolved displays.
Diverse collection expertly displayed. Quite inspiring!
Witness was a justifiably-remarkable collection.
Thought provoking art exhibitions
Enjoy the exhibits of nw art and culture and the temporary exhibits from all over the world

Very nice building and they do a lot of cool things all year.
Wonderful rotating exhibits and a nice permanent collection. Worth the admission i can easily spend an hour or two wandering the shows.
Took our kids here for a homeschool outing. Was kid friendly and very interesting :)
This was a small quaint museum. The graduating class from Williamette College final projects were apart of the exhibit.
Beautiful museum with well curated shows.
It was amazing they even give kids a prize a little small but great
