This tour and the city of Salem is one of the best places to learn about true world history and what todays practicing Witches really are. A+ :) Two thumbs up!

I initially wanted to go this last Thursday, but the tour wasnt available. I instead decided to cancel my walking tour of downtown Boston for Hocus Pocus as I really wanted to visit Salem while in the Boston area. I do not regret making the swap! Susan and Rich were great. We hit up all of the important sites I wanted to see after doing some research online. Even though all of the tourist traps were off season in February, it was still worth visiting town as all of the shops are still open. The tour itself is very informative about the Salem town history, and less focus is on the movie as described. They answered the extra questions I asked as well as were very personable and made sure we were comfortable.I highly recommend anyone visiting make sure to attend this tour. It is a great value for your money!

Incredible tour! Susan was so delightful and knowledgeable, and it’s so refreshing to see someone love what they do so much. Great informations about not just the witch trials, but the whole of Salem. Will be recommending to friends!

Amazing tour guides! Susan has a real knack for storytelling. She and her husband Rich have put together a great tour full of historical facts, and suspense. Very very knowledgeable and passionate. Very friendly, gave us tips about the area and stayed after to talk to us. Super sweet people and such a great tour stopping at all the major sites and giving facts or stories at each!

Susan and her husband Rich offer an incredibly insightful tour of both the history of Salem and the witch trials. My dad and I were the only two signed up for the tour on a cold February night and instead of canceling the tour, Susan and Rich gave us a “private tour”. Susan is extremely passionate about the town and the trials that had occurred. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Great Tour! Susan and Rich are really great tour guides and super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything they showed us. The walk is nice and sweet and you really get a good feel of the town and are able to pay respect to the lost lives. I thought that was super sweet. The only thing is there was not much Hocus Pocus as i thought there would be. Still good

This was a great tour. It was good for our whole family. We had 4 adults and 6 kids (ranging in age from 5-11) with us and we all enjoyed it. It was great information and we learned a lot. Our tour guide and her husband did a great job presenting the information and you can tell that they are enthusiastic and passionate about their town. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting Salem.

This tour was excellent, Susan & Rich were excellent hosts.They were knowledgeable about Salem, it’s rich history, architecture & things to do.It was raining on our tour but this did not dampen the passion Susan brought to the tour.We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely feel we ticked Halloween in Salem off our bucket list, doing this tour really helped with that!We absolutely recommend this tour!

WOW - AMAZING!!! I could take this tour with Suzanne and Rich again. THIS TOUR IS A DEFINITE MUST if you are going to tour Salem. It was so well done, well thought out, professional, informative, evidence based and historical! Took other tours, but this was the ONLY ONE that actually gave me goose bumps (I am not posting the picture because I want you to have the same experience I had in the moment!!!) They are hands down the best act in town. There was continuity throughout the tour. If you are looking for a tour that will provide you with authentic history, entertainment, and the stories of Salem including the Boston Stangler and The Salem Witch Trials this is the one you are looking for! The explanation and respect for the graves, the monuments, and the dead were beautiful and touching. You can tell these folks live there, care about their town and their history, and want you to care too. WAY BETTER than the 20 something that gave us the tour the next night from Haunted Footsteps (also reviewed by me if you would like to see the difference). Pretty sure his tour should have started with this one time at band camp...

Susan and her husband were excellent tour guides, sharing the history of Salem coupled with very entertaining stories. You could hear her well (she wore a microphone) and she made sure you could see the exhibits. They also made time for any questions. Excellent tour and highly recommend. Also very professional.

This walking tour was amazing! Susan is a fantastic storyteller who really makes you feel as though you are taking a trip back in time to experience history first-hand. She and her husband Rich are an adorable couple who are chock full of great information about the Salem Witch Trials and other historical info about Salem from over the centuries. Since the tour is 90 minutes and takes place in the dark, I highly recommend wearing sneakers.

My friend and I booked this tour as it was our first time in Salem and wanted to learn as much as possible. We did the Salem Witch Museum which was cool but very short and not worth the price. However, this tour was beyond expectation. We were lucky enough to have a private tour since no one else had booked. Susanne and Rich were phenomenal to say the least. They took us all around Salem and gave us so much information about the houses, murders, the jails, and the Witch Trials. We liked that it was more than just about the trials since Salem has other history. Susanne is exceptional at story telling. The way she crafts her tellings of Salems history kept us on our toes which made it more fun. At the end of the tour we got broom pens as a thank you which was so nice! They also told us where to go to get Ubers back to where we were staying which showed us just how caring they are. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone as Susanne and Rich were so kind, well versed, and knowledgable about Salem. We loved it!

Awesome, fun and engaging tour. Susan does a great job telling the history of Salem while being entertaining at the same time. It’s a great tour if you want to learn about what happened around the time of the witch trials but also learn about Salem’s history, which is just as interesting. My mom and I really enjoyed it.

Susan and Rich are absolutely phenomenal tour guides, with Susan telling a wonderful story of Salem, (not just pointing and telling us what we’d find on google) and actually interweaving each location into the tale. It felt like hearing an oral tradition, and it made Salem feel like more than stone and brick. Rich did a great job making sure the group kept together and safe, and they both took special care to make sure we didn’t disturb the residences, other pedestrians or the sites, and I found their respect for their town very charming. It’s a great learning experience and you feel a greater respect for the 20 lives lost in 1692

This was the second time Ive been to Salem but the first time I had taken a walking tour there. There is just so much to learn in such a small town. The tour gave great highlights into the history of Salem, not just the witch trails, but also tidbits along the way. I love how Rich engaged with the younger members of our tour talking to them and explaining to them what witches really are and even pointed out a guide in another tour group who is a practicing witch. I loved watching that interaction.

Punctual, affordable, and knowledgeable. We booked 4 hours in advance and they still had space! We also attended two other museums and this walking tour was the best in my opinion as it was interactive and engaging.Other museums and sites were prerecorded and outdated. Truly recommend the experience. The tour guides made it personal and you can tell they truly care about their city and its history.

My husband & I loved this tour!! It is run by a sweet couple who really have a passion (esp. Susan) for what they do! This was a last minute decision, and definitely a good one. Susan is such a wonderful storyteller & she has such a knack for relaying history in an exciting way. We learned so much! Susans touching speech at the end of the tour was genuine & heartfelt; it is a speech we will never forget. Salem is already an interesting place, but Susan really brought it to life through her words. Please, if you are in Salem, take this tour!! You wont regret it!

This was beyond my expectations. Such a passionate story teller! The tour touched on Salem history, the witch trials, the Hocus Pocus movie filing sites, and even a story of a murder that happened. It was such a wonderful experience. All of the history without the kitschy tall tales. This couple was so friendly and just made our entire trip! We will recommend to anyone coming into the area.

Everyone who visits Salem should take this tour. I have not stopped talking about how wonderful it was since I got home! Susan and Rich brought the history of Salem alive with intriguing and unique stories about people that lived in houses you were standing in front of, and made you think about the human side of the witch trials. They talked to us before the tour started, and incorporated what we had done or said into the tour, and personalized suggestions and comments for us. I wished it would have gone on another hour and a half! I also wish I would have been in Salem a second day to visit their recommendations that I hadnt seen on my own before the tour. They were so kind and knowledgeable, and were immensely easy to talk to and listen to. This was a knockout tour, and the next time I go to Salem I plan to take it again!

Went on this tour last year,it was interesting. It is a walking tour with 2 guides, they explain the houses and the history of the area and how if relates to Salem,Ma. The guides outlined the area that was present in the movie Hocus Pocus.

This tour is absolutely worth your time and money. Susan goes above and beyond with this tour. She is so full of Salem history, knowledge, and fun little tidbits. She’ll give you a great overview of the town and the history that is here. She’s very respectful and this tour is definitely kid friendly. We came in March and it was still chilly. She provided us with hand warmers! Love this tour and would absolutely recommend her to everyone.

First things first if you are looking for a tour dedicated solely to the movie Hocus Pocus may I suggest getting on a plane and traveling 3000 miles cross country to California. You will be told about spots in the movie but this is NOT a movie tour. This is a historical tour about the Salem Witch trials. Susan is so passionate of the history of Salem and it shows. She doesnt just spit facts at you and isnt an overly theatrical event. You can really feel her passion for the subject. It becomes a lesson on American History you want to learn and you want to hear more. Highly highly recommend! They both also are so aware of the surroundings and make sure that all on tour and those just walking the streets are able to enjoy the beauty of Salem!

We went on this tour as part of our honeymoon experience and it was DEFINITELY worth it. The tour was fascinating and included facts and stories from deep in the past through to modern day. The tour guide was absolutely fantastic as well. She grabbed both my partners attention and mine and told each and every anecdote with such passion and true a true story teller. My friends and I were visiting from out of town and searched through a few tours. We landed on taking the Hocus Pocus tour and could not be any more pleased with our experience. Susan is AMAZING and extremely knowledgeable and PASSIONATE about her work and the town/history of Salem. The tour groups are small and intimate, which is SO much better than the larger tour groups of 30 people. I would love to return to Salem some day with my family and take another tour with Susan. She even gives an adorable prize at the end

Fantastic tour! Susan was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the history of Salem. We were lucky to be in a small group so it was easy to hear and ask questions. We went on the tour the first night of our stay in Salem so we could go back and re-visit certain spots the next day. Susan also recommended additional locations that werent included on the tour and suggested some great restaurants that we never would have found on our own.

We came to Salem for our first time this past April. What an amazing experience we had with Hocus Pocus tours! We had our own private tour with Susan, and you could tell how passionate she was and what a great story teller she is! She takes you to places you would of had no idea about if you’d walk Salem on your own, we so enjoyed her stories and her knowledge on all the history. This was a great tour of Salem. We made multiple stops and learned all about its history from prior to the Witch Trials to recent history. Susan was a very knowledgeable guide; her passion for the city shone through during the whole tour. I do wish more stops could have been made that were related to Hocus Pocus, but distances and time prevented that from becoming a reality.

The husband and wife who conduct this tour are fantastic. Great people! My girlfriend and I spent some time in Salem on our way to Portland, and this was definitely the highlight of our visit. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. They were both very passionate and knowledgeable about Salems history. When youre done, pick up a good book about Salem history. The nearby Trolley Depot had a decent selection.

This tour was amazing! Susan and her husband are wonderful people who love and care about the rich history their town offers—and if definitely shows through this tour! It was very personable and I could hear everything the entire way! We went on a cold, rainy night so I would look ahead at your forecast before you go, to decide if you need to bring an umbrella, snow boots, scarf, gloves, etc. She actually mentioned someone brought a blanket one time, not a bad idea!

I took this tour on Friday and it was absolutely amazing. The two tours guides were phenomenal. They were very passionate about the history and informing our group of all the little tid bits Salem has to offer. The story telling was exceptionally outstanding. The tickets were reasonably priced, and the tour started and ended on time. Overall my experience with the Metzgers was captivating, fun and informative. I would highly recommend this as part of you Salem experience.

It was my husbands first time in Salem and I found the Hocus Pocus tours from researching online, after reading the reviews Id thought Id give it a try. Susan and her husband were extremely kind, genuine and she was an amazing guide. She was knowledgeable, funny and even recommended some local restaurants (if you like seafood try Turners restaurant, you will NOT be disappointed. The lobster bisque and stuffed shrimp were delicious). Upon arriving to the location they greeted us and offered some hand warmers -- which were needed, such a nice gesture! Once the tour was done, they gave us a broom pen and the option to keep a lanyard we were given at the beginning of the tour. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Salem! What a beautiful, quaint and friendly town.

A very Interesting and entertaining walking tour around a part of Salem. We learned a lot about part of salems history and the Salem witch trials. The guide and her husband were very personable and knowledgeable.

Visited Salem and as a fan, definitely snagged tickets for the Hocus Pocus Tour. Susan and her husband were so delightful in touring us around and their enthusasim for the rich history of the city really shines through their storytelling . They dont show everything Hocus Pocus (most was filmed in Hollywood anyway) but they can literally give you turn by turn directions to how to get to the sites they dont walk you to. Definitely would recommend for anyone visiting Salem!

An excellent history centric tour. Run by a local husband and wife team.(Disclaimer: Ive never seen the movie Hocus Pocus and much of it wasnt shot in Salem. The tour guide does mention the movie and she points out filming locations in the area)Where this tour really shines is its historical content. Salem has a rich and eventful history and the tour guide really does an excellent job of walking you through all of it.

Susan and Richard were so informative and passionate during the tour from start to finish. All of our questions were answered and all of our needs were met. We came to Salem last minute for a quick stroll through the city but this tour really exceeded our expectations!
