One of favorite spots in richmond to bring food/drinks and hang out outside. Ive never encountered any large or disruptive groups, most everyone is pretty chill. Strawberry street is right there too so its super convenient. Warning: if you do bring food flies will come (there are dumpsters nearby).

This hidden pocket park is my favorite in Richmond. A perfect spot for a picnic lunch. Grassy areas (with a fence) for kids to play in. Grab some 8 1/2 pizza or a pasty from Idle Hands and walk down the alley on the opposite side of the street to find this beautiful little oasis.

The fenced in area says no dogs which doesn’t make sense since. What else should be in there? There’s no playground equipment so bit confusing. There needs to be more public fenced in dog areas in city

This restaurant recently opened up and I had the pleasure of trying it out in its early days. The decor in here is great, the food is a southern cuisine and farm to table fabulous fusion. Bar area is great too and drinks were impeccable. Highly recommended!

An accessible, well-maintained and lovely pastoral green space in the heart of Richmonds Fan District. The spaces are well designed, smartly delineated, and handsome. One of the best of a number of small, intimate parks that dot one of the best neighborhoods in the city. Highly recommended for anyone that needs quality time in the outdoors while still living in a highly urban environment.

Not a dog park. Don’t trust Google. It’s a small fenced in area that doesn’t allow dogs for whatever reason and shows up when you look up dog parks.

Its a really nice spot to sit down and read, or just relax and people watch. Generally, its pretty clean and since dogs arent allowed on the grassy areas the grassy areas would be perfect for a picnic.

Great hidden gem in Richmond. Best thing to do is to get a macaron ice cream sandwich from Scoop ice-cream shop and walk through the alley to the park and relax.

A nice secluded spot to drink your coffee and take a mini break. Limited seating, so not ideal for groups of 6+, its a neighborhood spot. Please be respectful of that when visiting.

This is an adorable little park tucked away where you wouldnt expect it in the middle of the fan. Its the perfect place to sit in the sun for a while with your friends. Make sure to check out the little free library. Its super close to 8 1/2 and Strawberry St Market, so I recommend ordering a pizza or grabbing some snacks to enjoy in the park.

Awesome park! Its off the main street, so its kind of unknown. Its right by strawberry St. Market and 8 1/2, so you can grab some to go snacks and sodas have a secluded picnic. No glass allowed, but that doesnt stop some from bringing beer. Occasionally spoiled by cigarette smokers...

This is an almost-secret grassy neighborhood pocket park, maintained by volunteers, a hidden respite if you just want to take a break from walking or sit and eat a meal . You can hear acoustic music many summer evenings. Pot-luck events on holidays. There is space for gardening on the north end.
