We purchased Imax tickets and our showing was cancelled. The Manager was so accommodating and kind he without hesitation gave us new Imax tickets ticome back anytime. Super professional and cool about the situation.

Good IMAX experience with quality sound, enjoyable movie going ambiance, good service. Seats are comfortable but would love a few more concessions options. Lots of parking which is great during inclement weather. Also close to I-64 for easy access in and out when you want to take in a movie.

This is my go to theater. I love buying tickets ahead of time and breezing through the line. The seats are comfortable and the screen is not blocked. They have an inexpensive snack tray that fits right on your lap with popcorn, a drink and a gummy treat.

I love that you can pick seats now, but I wish the existing seats werent right on top of each other. Other local theaters offer more comfort and I am finding myself leaning towards those in lieu of going here. I have to travel a little further or pay a bit more, but I dont have to fight for an armrest.Responses to Response from owner: Thanks for the very generic response that tried to sell me on something I have used for years. Saw Frozen on a Sunday morning and theater was basically empty. Buying tickets at the kiosk was a breeze; not sure why everyone was waiting in line at the box office outside. The line to the concession stand looked long but we didnt buy anything. I brought in water for my daughter and they didnt stop me, so that was good. Theater was clean and seats were good. Movie played with no issues. Great overall experience.

Definitely nicer than the tRegal location at Va Center Commons, but its much, much busier. Its in the west end near Pump and Broad. Parking can be a problem as the lot is shared with other popular businesses. It has one of the few IMAX screens in the area. Not a bad place to see a movie, but given a choice, Id go with Bow Tie simply because the parking situation is better and the crowds are more manageable.

Fine Regal location -- attracted a nicely diverse audience.Theater was clean, seats were in good condition, which is particularly important since the theater uses the increasingly common (note I did not say popular) reserved seating option.Concessions were fresh.Good nearby choices withing walking distance for a meal or an ice cream before or after the show.Restrooms were clean, but could use dryers from this decade...

Theater is always clean, I rarely encounter gross floors or trash anywhere. Seating could use an update. Its uncomfortable sitting in those seats for more than half a movie, and forget a big opening night. Its even worse sitting in those seats if there is someone on either side of you, whether youre big or small in heft or size. Staff is usually pretty friendly and quick to assist. Id give it 5 stars if the seating was updated.

Movies and theater are fine, the concession stand area however always has incredibly slow service. Weve missed multiple movies 5-10 minutes in (when already waiting 10 minutes before it starts). Also they keep promotions for deals visible then say they no longer have any when you finally reach the front of the line (then take the advertising signs down so we dont waste time in line!)

Seats need updating. Staff (even the least among them) needs paid more / treated better. (I have no stock in their well being, as I am from Florida). Take care of your staff and THEY will take care of your customers. Bypass that middle step and your greed surpasses your compassion as well as wisdom. I am writing my first review ever. I feel compelled to do so because of my experience. Went to see the Avenger movie for the first time (I know, what was I waiting for). Anyway, the theatre was so hot it was unbearable. My wife spoke to a manager Jessica twice and nothing was done. As you know, the movie is 3 hours long!!! It was the most uncomfortable I Have ever been. No one came in to check and no one said anything too us or the other customers in the movie. When we came out I asked to speak to the manager. Jessica came over and she said there was nothing they could do. I said you could at least have checked the theater. I did something I have never done before and asked for tickets to come back and actually enjoy the movie. Jessica said she will have to get the manager. So, apparently she wasn’t the manager. 10 minutes later a lady named Candace comes out and walks right by us. She returns and just hands me two tickets without saying anything. Like I am just looking for a handout. Unbelievable, I told her their customer service isn’t very good. She didn’t seem to care. I wasn’t going to even write this review until I saw a guy named Bert wrote about the same issue 5 days ago. So they still didn’t fix the problem and just put us all in the same theatre that didn’t have working a/c. WOW! That’s ridiculous!!!Look at the standard answer I got below. It is the same response that Bert got 6 days ago. They just changed his name to my name! Unbelievable!!! Obviously they don’t care and just need to say something to show they responded. What a joke!!!

Associates working behind the concession stand need training in sanitation..one was picking his ears, Another had his hands in his mouth. While the young lady wiped her nose will the back of her hands. The clean up crew inside the theater were quick and proficient.

This theater was very clean and most of the employees that I encountered were really professional and nice. I was comfortable during the duration of the movie and had a really good time. I will definitely choose this theater next time I want to enjoy another movie.

Theater is a decent, mid grade regal. Concession staff is always super weird and anti social when we try to buy alcohol. Roll their eyes and have to radio for a manager or a 21+ employee to pour, which I understand is policy, but they make it seem like such an unbearable burden on them. There was no line... we were the only people. “I’d like one beer” concessionist rolls eyes and sighs, walks off to find someone who comes over all irritated. Come on bro. Not trying to rag on teenagers getting paid minimum wage but, really, I worked for that company for 5 years and we would fire people instantly for that lack of friendliness. Beer has a super high mark up, they’re making tons of money. Maybe management should be in the stand during peak business hours to pour alcohol? Or just don’t sell alcohol period if it’s that big of an ordeal. It’s funny because someone posted a review 3 hours before me writing this saying the same thing

I remember when this theater didnt exist! I sound older than I am, but I do remember that this theater used to be the draw to Short Pump, and I think it still is. This theater is comfortable, gigantic, and convenient. The parking can be a headache if you are going around dinner time or on an opening night, but it is worth it. The seats are comfortable, the theaters are clean, and the staff is always helpful. It is definitely the best Regal in the area, hands down!

Good place for a handicapped person to see a movie and now that you are able to choose your seats is a huge plus.

Seats are very uncomfortable. But overall experience was ok. Workers were nice and the theatre was clean, just not my cup of tea with how outdated this building is inside and out.

The two things preventing me from giving 5 stars is 1, there were times I could hear the sound from another theaters movie. It was subtle but definitely audible and took away from the movie. And 2, the bathroom could definitely use a fresh coat of paint. It was clean but felt old and worn.

Great theater, love that they have the beer option now. The only problem is the bathrooms never have paper towels and the hand dryers are pretty weak. Nobody wants to eat popcorn with wet hands.

I usually view movies there in early afternoon when there are few customers. Understandably the outside ticket office is closed and you are to pay at the candy counter. No conceptual problem with that either except there is only one line so one has to wait to simply buy a ticket while those in front of you buy cokes, popcorn,etc. I have yet to get a ticket in less than ten minutes.When you get to the front of the line you are asked to pick a reserved seat. Most of the movies I attend have less than 20 people in them so a sit anywhere option is more appropriate.The local manager told me that he had expressed concern about these two policies but the management above him wont allow him to make changes. Sounds like middle management needs to allow the local manager more authority and a bit more money for a second line.It is a very nice theater with a good offering of movies but stupidly managed.

1/19/20 10:25pm Customer service was awful the person at the counter huffed when I asked for a slushee when he gave it to me he didn’t say a word he looked away when I said “have a good day” he didn’t say anything. The slushee tasted a bit funny and I’ve spent the next day throwing it all up. The place was filthy in the theaters with trash everywhere on the ground and the bathrooms looked even worse I’ve never been to a theater that was this bad before and I’ve been to pretty bad ones Also no military discount? What’s up with that?

I would give it a five star review but their foods not that great, no waitresses, and no reclining seats. Drive an extra hour to Charlottesville and go to the Alamo on 5th Street. Its worth the trip and they serve you beer at your table no getting up just recline and dine

I went on Black Friday evening to a 5:30 movie & upon walking into the theater there were 3 or 4 popcorn buckets spilled all over the walk way just inside the door. We arrived around 5:15 & I honestly figured itd be at least mostly gone before the movie was over but it wasnt. The place definitely needs some updated seating it use tbe the best cinema but just hasnt been anywhere close to par the last few times Ive been there. Just leaving that type of mess makes it look very run down. I took a picture of so I can send to the manager if I can find the info. Clearly this is not how Regal likes their places to be. It use to be 5 star all the way!

There are a lot of cinemas at this location. I believe more than 14!!! It has an old style look and feel from the outside. Inside it offers a very relaxed environment. The seats are comfortable and recline slightly. The food and snacks are, well, movie theater prices. But overall a good deal for the money. 5 out of 5 stars!!

It’s close to the mall and it has an impressive IMAX auditorium, though you have to choose seats.

Good times. Great friends. They always start the movie on time... yes that’s a thing. Floors are cleaned quite well between movie showings even on their busiest nights.The staff is always smiling even on Christmas Day. On Christmas Day everything was smooth and they were fully staffed to prevent extremely long lines.All in all the overall experience here as always been good. From the the maintenance people to the black coat managers. They are A+ with me so far.

What happened to this place? I remember when this was the best cinema in the area. The top 2 issues I had were 1) the mildewy odor that permeated the wing of theatres where my theater was. And that smell did not diminsh when inside our theatre. 2) Mens bathroom was one of the worst Ive ever seen. Maybe not trainspotting bad, but the floors were a mess...not a dry spot to be found. And the urine smell was overwhelming. A racetrack piss-trough would have been a welcome improvement! The smaller issue I had was the understaffed concession area For the ticket prices, I feel like they should be able to afford some extra staff. This theater is cutting too many corners, IMO.

I love the IMAX theater here. The seats are comfy and the staff is kind. Going to the movies is something I view as a special treat and something that should be experienced, so I see things in the nicest theater I can whenever possible. Ive been to multiple other theaters in the Richmond area, but I dont like leaving bad reviews, so I wont be leaving any reviews for them. This theater has great sound, not the kind that shakes your seats, but its still really clear and plenty loud. The projector is really clear and the screen is great quality with no faults that I can find. Ive also seen one film in one of their regular theaters and that was really nice, too.

Short Pump deserves a better movie theater. This one is so dingy. Every time I go into the bathroom it grosses me out. The service is slow too but mostly the place is dingy and run down.

Its clean and spacious but Im disappointed in the level of customer service. I dont like their deals at consession. They have collectible items for a new movie but for those of us who cant have the second half of their deal we cant have any of it and they arent willing to do a half. God forbid.also the staff were too busy talking to each other to listen to anything. I gave 3 stars because the size and level of cleanliness. Id give customer service a 1 Star.

Nice theater but why does it take soooooooo long to serve concessions?

Yesterday was my first visit to this theater as I was new to this place... It was clean and sound effects were perfect... I enjoyed the movie .. even my daughter (3 year old) saw the movie, felt good ... Popcorn was bit salty so myself and daughter has to eat as we bought it... Other than that we were super happy regarding the atmosphere and ambiance...

Theater was humid and dirty. The audio was playing but not the projector. It took them 15 minutes after the movie was supposed to start before they cancelled the showing. Absolutely no communication between staff and patrons until they told us we had to leave. At least I got my $ back

The location is easy to get to and it is clean with friendly staff.

It would be better if they have recliner seating. Unable to sit for 2 hours for a movie. All near by regal are similar don’t understand why they don’t have recliner seating. It was there in NJ where I used to go to movie every month. But here because of these stadium seating not even interested to watch a movie. Don’t know why in Richmond area regal is not interested to invest to convert stadium seating to recliner seating. Other than that good staff and well maintained.

I went into the theater with the 8 people with me and we all were very uncomfortable because it was c so hot in the theater. I went to complain to the manager and he told me he felt fine. I am literally dripping sweat when he tells me he is fine. I will never come back here again.

Its a movie theatre with 14 screens. I have been going here since it first opened and there was nothing there except the theater. Fast forward to 2018, parking is hard to find and you may need to walk a distance the closer to the show time and for popular movies. The lines are long for entrance and concessions. I recommend purchasing your tickets online to save yourself some time. Some online purchasing websites will allow you to purchase concessions online. I have not tried purchasing concessions online but it surely is an awesome idea to save wait time in the line.Typically, the theater gets movies the same day theyre released. This location sometimes offers free showings of movies prior to release.If you frequent the movies, I also recommend going online and signing up for a Regal Crown Card account. You earn points for purchasing movie tickets and snacks at the concession stand. You also get bonuses when going to a movie on release weekend, such as a soundtrack album, previous movie, etc.

Worst movie theater service I’ve ever experienced.

Bought tickets online for the opening weekend of a movie as there was assigned seating to choose from which I assumed would make my experience good since I didn’t have to fight for a good seat. However, upon checking in at the kiosk, I was told my seats were different than what I chose online. We entered the theatre only to find out people were in our seats. We were told the movie was over-sold. This was a huge inconvenience. Do not have assigned seating if you cannot accommodate everyone properly.

I love this theater! Great employees, good ticket prices, great food, amazing auditoriums with incredible audio. I love going to this theater and will make this my go to theater for now on!

Its a movie theater and they do their jobs. Its clean and everyone is pretty nice. What else can you really expect.

My young niece and I have now made a regular tradition of going to the movies together when a new childrens movie is out. The ticket line seems to move pretty quickly and the staff have been accommodating to my small niece wanting to purchase the tickets for herself. They have also allowed me to bring in her car seat so that she can experience the movie more comfortably. The facilities are clean.

This theater used to be good .. but now that it is aging it has definitely gone downhill.. even the employees are sick of it. I usually go a few times a month but have started going to west Chester instead. First, the popcorn here is ALWAYS stale. How I have no idea when they are popping so much in a day but it never fails. Secondly, the restrooms are NASTY! Was there tonight and used them before a 3 hour movie... the restroom was trashed. Toilet paper and water all over the floor. Pee and you know what on the seats... just nasty. Not to mention they are always out of soap. Went back to the restroom after the movie... you would think an employee would have checked on the restroom within that lapse of time but nope.... still just as nasty... doesn’t make you want to eat popcorn or drink much when you know you have to use the gross restroom! Third, the theaters are dirty and outdated. The theater we were in tonight had popcorn all under the seats. I’m not talking about a few kernels... I mean it looked like someone dumped a whole large popcorn under the seats In a few places. Pretty gross. The carpets are gross and haven’t been updated since their opening... doesn’t seam most the seats have been either. Sadly this theater is the closest to my house so it’s easiest... but I have started building time in to go to westchester instead where the MANY bathrooms are clean and the theater is up to date. Wish they would build another theater out here in short pump... and I actually spoke with a manager at one time a few months back who said they agreed and that they needed another option to force regal to upgrade theirselves. Pretty sad.

My previous review had 4 stars because they did not have the option to reserve seats. Well, Im happy to say they have added this option. This is great for many reasons, some people may not like it. But having kids and reserved seating, it is wonderful for a trip to the movies.

Pretty decent movie theatre. The imax theaters are huge! Definitely recommended seeing any visually stunning movies in imax here.You can purchase tickets online and use a self service kiosk to print them out. Our you can use the kiosk to buy them and theres rarely a like at the kiosk.You also get to select your seats here which is nice because you can do that ahead of time to reserve a nice seat wherever you like.Only 4 stars because the seats kind of suck. They need to be upgraded big time.

Who doesnt love a good movie but the cost of food and drink as in a lot of places is getting ridiculous. I can take a family of four to a fancy steak restaurant cheaper than I can take them to the cinema and eat. Everyone knows the cost of a Coke or popcorn or even a frozen pretzel and what you get is anywhere from one to five hundred times that cost it makes it hard to justify giving over our money.

Regal without warning has gone to assign seating. There’s absolutely no benefit to assign seating because there’s no difference in price. We sat down as a family and then were asked to get up because someone had those seats. The kicker is we didn’t know and when went to our assigned seats others were sitting in them. Management told us the row was full and we could find other seats. What? We tried and were asked to move again. If my wife wasn’t with my son and me I’d made huge scene on getting my assigned seats. Instead, I got my money back for the tickets and the popcorn and drinks. It’s the dumbest idea. Needless to say, I won’t be seeing movies at Regal Short Pump ever again!

Pretty decent Regal Cinema location. Not the best, but also not the worst. The theater is a little outdated, and customer service isnt the greatest. Pretty much everyone that works there seems to do the bare minimum and they act as though they have no idea whats going on around them.Only reason why I like this Regal is because its a little retro and nostalgic, and not too crowded as compared to other Regal locations.

The manager was so rude when purchasing a ticket today, January 1, 2020 for the 4pm showing of Little Women. He was aggravated that my friend and I paid separately. When I called him out on it he was even ruder. To the point he wouldn’t even look me in the eye. I was so surprised that a manager would act like that.

One of the best cinemas Ive ever been to. The staff is nice, they clean every room before the next batch of people go in. They also have a good selection of food and many things for children to do in the waiting hall.

My cineplex of choice in part because it is convenient to my home. I try to go there when its not too crowded but Ive also been when it was & the crowds were well-controlled by complex personnel. The theatres Ive been in were clean, as were the facilities.
